I would like shadows in game to make the game look realistic. It may be laggy for some players but it will look cool. Shadows will only appear in the day time because of the sun and there will be no shadows in the night time. Shadows won’t appear in indoor maps, such as caves.

Very good idea, maybe a toggle option, for those who don't have very good computers they can disable the option of having the shadows.

This was something impressive title had, I'm not sure if it would make a comeback as would cause performance issues on lower end computers, but I suppose toggling it on or off could potentially help.

They had the choice of shadows, or water reflections.
One time i tried to add the water reflection to a preset the way people added cartoon outlines....  i had shadows under the character.  But they were weird wavy shadows as if underwater.  Never replicated it since.
The Japanese concept of wabisabi:
The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?
"Because it was my favourite & I like it"
