✧When they take the Reins✧

The horses of outback. They live deep in the heart of the American wilderness, free to wander, eat and breed. Generations pass through this large and sacred herd, the solid power of being free pulsing through the blood of new-born's and charging into the veins of new recruits. Not a single horse wishes to be in the hand of humans and not a single heart string goes out to them.

But the humans think different.

There is a growing demand for horses and the Warmblooded popularity is booming. People are resorting to taming wild horses to become domesticated. This is successful, much to the dismay of the pure-blooded wild beasts. Most wild herds in America have become extinct and the bloodline ended via the horses being used for riding purposes only. Now, the only true wild herd left that has all the members intact is the 'Pure Oak Herd of the Solid Turf Gorge', or also known by the nickname 'Hooves of Rock'. These horses are agile, fearless and unbelievably strong. All horses within the herd are bonded for life, and departure of the herd is a sentence to death. The leader of the group is a Stallion by the name of  'Talon'; His full name, 'Sagittarius Talon'. Sagittatus means 'Barbed' in Latin. He leads the group to it's newest  goals and fires the fear into the hearts of predators. He protects and serves his herd to the best of his ability, but it all comes crashing down when a secret is unearthed from the long-loved herd, leaving them defenceless for the foolish humans.

✧Plot✧
Major: There is a major plot that is partly secret. I can only tell you some things to a extent. As i have told in the introduction, the humans are beginning to tame the wild horses for riding purposes. If the humans reach the Pure Oak Herd, it will destroy them and the generations of hard work to keep the herd pleased would have been for nothing. Talon has known a secret of the herd ever since he was made leader. He was strictly forbidden to tell anyone of this, and if he did, he would be sent to an early grave by one of the elders in secret. Talon swore to the heavens not to tell anyone, but the secret is unearthing itself as the heavens grow restless for the horses safety.

Minor: Minor plots are welcomed. If you wish to propose one, please say so. BUT they must be minor. Fires, death and such are major plots and i will not accept any major plots. (Minor plots include a love blossoming, a thunderstorm, etc.)

✧Area✧

This is the main area where the horses live. Here, they drink, run, breed and feed. The scenery is beautiful from spring through to winter. It is a very easy living condition in all seasons but winter. No horse would survive here during the winter. During the spring the grass grows lush and the lakes thor out, leaving a very cool air around them. During this time the horses travel back to this area and the birth of foals occur and a new generation is born. They have plenty of food to eat and water to drink. This area is quite safe unless un guarded. The main predators that try to grab a meal here are wolves and on a rare occasion, bears. Wolverines sometimes wander through and pose no threat to the wild beasts. Bird flourish here and this causes a chorus of songs flow through the gorge at dawn and then at dusk.

This is the road the horses take to get to the bottom of the gorge and then to the top. This is a highly dangerous area for foals and adults alike. The dangers that lie here is the steep drop below. Everyone must be careful when crossing through here and they all must be in a single file. Horses have been known to fall, but this is rare, for they have all grow wise to know what precautions they should take. Mountain lions stalk on the rocks and rest in abandoned caves. Horses are vulnerable to their acts, as they could easily nudge someone behind in fright or aggression. Anyone, even the most stable of horses could slip and fall and even be eaten. Turning around here is not an option. Every horse in the herd  travel up here for the winter months. A walk to the top would be at least three hours.

The vegetation here grows on the low branched tree's, so it is easy to access without  having to waste time scraping up the snow. This is the top of the gorge where the horses stay during the winter months. They are quite happy here, for the rock provides warmth for them. There are small forests of pine trees and inside live quite harmless creatures. You very rarely spot any other predator than bears in the forest, and they prefer to catch a less feisty creature.

✧Age Groups✧

The Young (upto 12 months)
The Yearlings (24 months)
The Juveniles (Two years to four years)
The Mature (Four years to 12 years old)
The Ancient (The retired horses. They quit work at 12 years old)

✧Ranks✧

The leader
The leader leads the group in the current affairs. He or she makes sure that the herd is safe, everyone does as they are told and also leading the herd to new spots. He or she keeps track of the weather and he or she leads them up and down to gorge in the winter and spring. He or she is responsible for any accident, for he or she has not checked the safety of the group. He is all the roles rolled into one. (Except the foals)

Deputy
The deputy is the second in command and is in a close bond with the leader. Both ranks must trust each other with their lives. He or she makes sure the leader has missed nothing and he or she makes sure that everyone is in order.

Scout
Scouts are the horses that patrol the area where the others rest or feed. They must be trust-worthy and failing to note about approaching predators or dangers will lead to a severe punishment. They also protect the herd with their lives, battling the predators until the death.

Healer
They have spiritual connections with the heavens and are able to heal the horses with the power of their mind. Being connected to the heavens, they are born with the gift and so are never able to rank up from their position. Every horse in the herd relies on them to aid the wounded.

Mothers/Foal watchers
These are the new mothers and so are ranked down from their original position until the foal is old enough to feed themselves. They look after their foals and others.

Foals
The new generation of horses. They play around and feed at free will. They have no care in the world and so they have a well needed childhood. They graduate for their position at the age of one year and four months.

Elders
The retired horses who live life without a care. They rely on the horses in the herd to keep them safe and to make sure they are okay. They are able bodied and are still like any other horse, but because of their age, they have retired so they can have a good retirement until they pass to the heavens.

✧Herd Rules✧
✧Every horse must respect the leader. They must be willing to put their lives in his grasp.
✧Mothers must be by their foals side all the times. If your foal is missing, this must be immediately reported to leader.
✧Deputy/s must not make decisions without consulting the leader first.
✧No horse is allowed to breed without the leaders permission. This rule is needed to make sure no horse is expecting in difficult times.
✧Every horse is bonded to the tribe when they join or born. If a horse want's to leave the herd, they must be eliminated for Treachery.
✧Any problems in the herd must be alerted to the leader as soon as possible.
✧Every year when the horses climb to the gorge's top, you must be in a single file with the foals in the middle and scouts at the back. The deputy is behind the leader, who leads the herd.
✧Fighting in the herd will not be tolerated.
✧Failing to follow rules will end up in sever punishment or death.

?RP Rules?

?No God-Modding or Power playing. Nobody is perfect and it is frustrating to see that people have made their horse 'Amazing' Or #Better than the others'
?You must be literate. The honest mistake is fine, so long as it is not in every sentence.
?Please make long posts. I do not want to see one lined posts, nor do I want to see people saying 'Short' Or 'I don't know what to write'
?The Herd rules are okay to be broken, but the RP rules are strict and you MUST follow them.
?Romance, love and mating is okay. Please do not tell me what happens, I will not tolerate crude language.
?Please try to stay as active as possible. I know exams and school things are upon us, but if you are not able to get online to post, Please tell me at a early date that you sometimes may not be able to get online.
?You are NOT allowed to post right after you have already posted. Wait for  Three other people to post, and then you may post again.
?Do not fill the chat up with 'What shall I do?' and 'When will we start'? If you are wondering anything or want to tell me anything, send me a PM and I shall answer it.
?Any breed of horse is allowed in the role-play, but please do not overfill us with complicated breeds we have never herd of. They MUST be a real breed. So no unicorns or Pegasus.
?I want a balance of Male and female characters. If you see that there are more male than females and you want to join, join as a female. You may make another gender at a later date.
?Put 'Hooves of Rock' In the extra part to show you have read the rules. If you forget to put this, I will give you a warning.
?Only Two horses are allowed to be lone. No more.
?No horse in the herd would have had originally a human. The leader despises human raised horses.
?You can make Three characters in all.
?Have fun!

Full Name: Sagittarius Talon
Preferred Name: Talon, Tal.
Gender: Stallion
Age: The Mature
Breed: Andalusian
Sub-Breed(s): Unavailable
Height: 16.5hh
Origin: Blood born
Rank: Leader
Appearance: Talon is a well-muscled, pure bred stallion. He has a dark champagne pelt with a few lighter spots scattering his chest and back. Down his muscled legs, the colour starts to ignite into a dark brown and then a black which starts at his  shoulder and then slowly blends. This is on all of his legs. His mane and tail has a base colour of a urban which lightens into a ginger. It is also highlighted with flecks of white and grey, but do not mistake this for an elderly horse! Moving towards his build, His head is profiled high, yet his neck is bulky and medium in length. His body is well curved and smoothed down over his muscles that can be seen when he puts pressure into his legs (Like jumping and galloping.) He has a few slashes on his muzzle under is nostril due to the fact a mountain lion cub had once dug its claws into his muzzle the previous year they made the trip up the gorge.
Personality: Talon is a loyal, proud and protective stallion that would risk his life for his herd. His role of leader has him wrapped in plenty of responsibilities and when he was made leader, he proudly accepted it with the heavy load of responsibilities filtering through his mind. He is proud to be leader and attempts to never put a hoof wrong, although in the later years he has been known to slip up on some minor rules. His protective role comes in handy when protecting his herd from predators or stallions attempting to join. Although he has nothing against the stallions wanting to be recruited, his is still weary of their atmosphere. Being around Talon is very rewarding if you wish to learn more about his responsibilities, and this way you can dig a little deeper into his true colours. Despite being quite the serious one, he still has a good sense of humour and is always up for a game of racing or tag, when his duties have been done, of course. He adores foals, for they are so care free and have little knowledge of the responsibilities they will have when they grow up. He admires their bouncy attitude, and wants to be around them when his duties have been fulfilled.

Apart from his serious yet tender side, he is quite the romantic. He cares for feelings and only ever chooses a mare that has a strong feeling for him, so he is quite the 'Hopeless romantic'. But even though his is the 'lovey dovey' and the 'jokester', he still takes things that get out of hand seriously, so plenty of horses in the herd make sure that they follows his rules as carefully as can be. Talon only want's to do what is best for his herd, and make it fun all at the same time.

Background: Talon is a blood born, so he was born into the herd with his father the current leader. From his birth, every horse respected him, for when he would grow up, he would be the new leader. From an early age, a couple of days after he was born, he was wrapped in the blanket of responsibility. He watched his fellow colts muck around and he dearly wanted to join in, but his father said that it was a serious matter and that he could play at the end of the day when his duties where fulfilled. So Talon never had a proper childhood that he dearly needed, but all the same, he wanted to please his father in his actions.

At the age of one month, he had begun his training to bulken up, his father saying the earlier the training, the stronger he will be. He fought off wolverines and battled with a few moles to go back down their tunnels, but his real challenge was the climb up the gorge. His father explained that one day, he would have to lead the horses up the gorge at late autumn and then back down in early spring. The first time he walked up the mountain, he was behind his father at the age of six months. It was a large challenge for him, since his father had spooked him with the tales of horses being eaten and falling to their deaths.

And this tale came true.

They where half way up the gorge, the crisp leaves of the sleeping tree's swirling around their heads. His mother was right behind him, her chin resting on his rump so she was ready if he stumbled. But she was the one that needed to be rescued. A young mountain lion was spotted prowling among from rocks, a dead baby eagle in its mouth. It had quickly spotted the herd and fancied it's luck with Talon, whom when rounding a corner, was defenceless. It dropped the baby bird and pounced elegantly in front of Talon's father, the sudden movement triggering a spook into his father. He stepped backwards into his son whom had started to worry and begin to turn around. The herd realised something was wrong (They could not see the leader for they where at the back of the line) and immediately began to shift and shuffle backwards, the outraged, defensive neighs of his father echoing around the gorge. The small mountain cat spotted Talon attempting to pass behind his mother and quickly swooped in, passing Talon's father and latching both his front paws onto his rump. In shock, Talon charged besides his mother, the cat falling from the side of the steep gorge at the sudden movement, but at an attempt or biting the cat, his mother lunged forwards and grabbed the mountain lion, just as it was about to let go. It's weight in her mouth caused her to stumble forwards and fall off the side of the gorge. Everyone was silent until they heard a distant thud of his mother hit the ground. Talon was in shock, not a bone in his body moving as he looked down the side and at the steep drop. His father shaking with fear and worry, unable to come to terms that his mate had died. The Father and son, could not believe it, and would not believe it until the kind words of the deputy said. "There was nothing we could have done."

Years passed and the herd seemed so empty without Talon's mother. His father never spoke a word and Talon was dismissed from his duties, but he never felt like he would feel the same ever again. But a day approached when the herd began to reassure the father and son, the foals from Talon's non-existent childhood comforting him and the remaining friends of his father's heard saying that everything was going to be okay. After that day, the herd coming together after years separated from The leader and his son, Talon's father stepped down from his rank and the Juvenile became the new leader. This cheered him up a lot and he began to place the spirit of happiness back into everyone, the herd finally being complete once more. New recruits where welcomed and the herd became, once more filled with joy as it had been when his mother was alive.

Talon is now in the middle of his mature years, his father still guiding him. Although it will never be the same without his mother, he still tries to the best of his abilities to hide his feelings for her and move on in life.
Family: His mother name 'Aquarius' died when she fell of the edge of the gorge. His father 'Harkus Calico Talon' Is still alive and well. He has no brothers nor sisters.
Relationship Status: Single and interested.
Crush: At the moment, none, for his daily duties gets in the way of getting to know his herd's personalities.
Extra: He still has a few minor scars on his rump from the mountain cat.

Full Name: "Hmph, why do you need to know my name? But well, its Inxis if you must know. Oh wait, you want my full name? Why do you need my full name? You are just a creep, aren't you? My full name would be Inxis Valley, if you really need to know my full name. Now stop creeping on me, you don't need to know my middle name! Go away!" (Inxis Alaris Valley)

Preferred name: "My preferred names? I don't really know, I guess Inxis is just fine. Or maybe Xis or Inx, any other ones would just be stupid, really."

Gender: "Do I look like a stallion to you? I am a female, you idiot! You better not tell me I look manly, either!"

Age: "Young, I guess. I'm only a foal, soon to be a yearling, so don't treat me like a baby, got it?"

Breed: "I am a proud Arabian! Which means i'll kick your butt in a race!"

Sub-Breed: "I am only an Arabian, nothing else."

Origin: "I am a wanderer, I came from a different area."

Appearance: "You have eyes, right? Oh you do? Okay."
The female foal has a small build, as she is a young horse. She has a small muzzle, and ears that are slightly pointed and a bit floppy. She has a slender, feminine build, with slight muscle on her- but her body is mainly built for running. The horse's main coat color would be a tan color, which has a gradient that appears on her neck- going into a more darker brown that travels up to the start of her chin. She has a darker brown color on her muzzle, as if she dipped her snout right into a pile of mud. There is a tiny patch of pink on the top of her lip, and also pink in the middle of her nose. A white line travels from her nose to her forehead, forming an imperfect circle atop her head. She has the same color surrounding her muzzle around her eyes, that are a warm chocolate brown. Her face and lower neck are a much darker tan color- not necessarily brown- but still a noticeable shift in color. Her firm, but powerful legs are brown in color, while her lower hooves are the same tan color as her body- her hooves being a warm chocolate color. She has a rather fluffy mane on her head, and her short fluffy tail is usually high and upright in happiness. She also has a more baby, young, and vibrant look about her- making her appear much younger than she already is.

Personality: "Well, I don't know how to explain myself, why not you figure it out?!"
This female foal is sarcastic- as you can see by her words, and she also appears rather callous to many. Most call this young horse a brat due to the attitude she has, and most of the time this attitude usually gets the young foal in trouble. Many also describe her as being defensive and secretive- not really enjoying to give up any information that she knows, but usually she will reveal some to her friends, but rarely will she report to anyone if she is hurt or not. She doesn't enjoy laying her burdens on anyone else, and she usually never asks for help. She could even be on fire, and if someone asked to help she'd probably gallop on by and say that she was fine. This young mare also seems to have some sort of trust issues, and she doesn't easily trust others, and she can actually appear very aggressive to any outside of her herd due to the events in her much younger life. She is partly rude and insensitive to strangers- but that doesn't mean she isn't willing to risk her life to save another horse.

Some other traits this female has would be that she is highly proud, as mentioned before, and she always tries to prove to many that she isn't just some weak foal who needs protecting. But she still just a baby, and has her moments where she misses her mother and just wants to feel loved and protected like most young ones with mothers. She also has a firm hate for humans, that will probably never go away, and she even seems to be a bit traumatized by humans- and doesn't enjoy speaking any good of them. Another thing to mention is that she has the trait daring- as she is one to laugh in the face of danger. She enjoys the thrill of doing something dangerous- and many call her fearless, but she isn't- she is just very brave and tries not to appear cowardly and weak. When she does learn to trust someone, she appears rather friendly and is a real sweetheart who does have a good bone in her young body, with a kind and gentle soul. Some other traits to describe this foal would be spitfire, overly confident, excitable, adventurous, curious, naive, young, and vibrant, and don't forget competitive.

Background:  At a very young age, the female foal was born into the wild like most horses. She had lived in another herd, with her mother and her father leading it. But, being a young foal, she was found to be very intelligent, and she had quickly learned how to stand and walk in a couple of minutes. When she was really young, she stood around her mother's side without leaving at all, but as she grew, she quickly became more and more independent and absolutely learned that she loved to run and jump and frolic, and race with the various other foals in her small herd. Her older brother introduced her to fighting and racing at a young age, mainly because he was bored and didn't enjoy trying to bother with any but his family, and he was a great teacher due to the fact he had battle scars covering his body, she didn't know that he was the main cause of her father's death, but her mother and her brother never did dare tell her. Her older brothers name was Cyaros, and when he was a old enough age, he left for a few years to go and find a herd of his own, during this time her mother wasn't pregnant. He had battled and attacked many stallions, and learned a great deal of fighting tips before he gave up and went back home- only to be attacked by his father who had forgot it was his own son.

Background: Being defensive, Cyaros attacked back, and left his father to run off injured and well, going to die. He then took over the herd, and he proved himself as a strong leader and a very defensive one at that, seeing as he battled stallions who attempt to take over his herd. Inxis had been born while her brother had ruled- so she did never known her father, which is why she had developed a more stronger relationship with her brother, and she had more of a fatherly-brotherly relationship with him rather than the normal brotherly one. So, Inxis had learned most things that he should have been teaching maybe a younger stallion, but she doesn't care and he doesn't care, in fact, she enjoys it than the calm, laid-back teachings her mother tried to give her. 'Be submissive and shy' pfft, yeah right. Inxis soon grew much older, and during a grazing session, gunshots were heard. Her brother told her to stay right next to her mother and follow her, and he raced off to fight the humans that threatened to kill them, or capture them. Inxis and her daring attitude wanted to help, and ran over to try and help her brother, kicking one before getting shot in the ear, the fear she had before had increased almost immediately, and without thinking at all, she bolted right out of there, not listening to the herd members who neighed after her, no, she didn't listen at all, she ran until she couldn't run anymore, and collapsed because of exhaustion. After a while, she had travelled with her bleeding ear- occasionally crying due to the loss of her family and herd, but soon, she was found by the Pure Oak Herd. It had taken her a few months to get used to them, but now, she feels the same love she had for her old herd with the new herd. She however still has the tiniest belief her brother is still out looking for her, and doesn't enjoy it when people tell her the truth that they are not looking for her anymore, and most likely think she is dead.

Family: "My kin is no importance to you, all you should know is that I have an older brother named Cyaros, and he's going to find me! He's really strong and brave, and he'll beat you up! My mother is also a really strong mare, she is looking for me too! They will find me....okay?"

Relationship status: "Eww! Boys are really, really, really stupid! So no!"

Crush: "I said boys are stupid!"

Extra: "I have a hole in my ear, it used to hurt, but now it's healed."
The foal will most likely want a motherly or fatherly figure, and she is noted to become sad at points due to her lack of a proper family now. She has a love for fruit, and she enjoys racing. The female is about 11 hands high, and her rank in the herd would be foal.

Cecelia

Full Name: "Why would you want to know my name? It's not that important... Fine, my name is Cecelia. What? No! You are not getting my second name?!"  (Cecelia Amelia Vixey)

Preferred Name:  "Everyone just calls me Cecelia, I absolutely hate the name 'Vixey' so don't you ever dare calling me that!"

Gender: "I'm just not going to say anything to that." Mare

Age: "Well, I guess I'm one of the mature... I think"
Breed: "All you need to know is that I'm a horse." American Quarter Horse.

Sub-Breed(s): "I am a pure American Quarter Horse. Oh, shoot, I just told you..."

Height: 15.7 hh

Origin: "I am Blood Born, so...yeah"

Rank: Deputy? If not, Scout.

Appearance: "Well, obviously you are blind. If you are, I am the most beautiful horse you could ever imagine."Cecelia has a strong, graceful build. Her coat is a rusty chestnut colour, which turns lighter in the warmer months. Beneath her chocolate brown eyes, her muzzle is long and soft to the touch. Her eyes are framed by her long lashes, shielding them from the glare of the sun on bright days. She has a long mane that is murky brown in colour, it also lightens in the warmer months. From her mane to her muzzle is a stripe of white, as well of her back left leg. The end of her muzzle is pink, and quite sensitive.

Personality: "You must've already guessed. I'm rubbish at first impressions."
Cecelia may seem sarcastic and shy at first, but when you break through the barrier of her trust she is sweet, kind and quite funny. At times, she can grow quiet and drift off into her own daydream. Towards stallions, she is quite flirtatious and cheeky, always knowing what to say. Once you earn her trust, you have a friend for life and someone that will look out for you, not matter what.

Background: "I've had a pretty normal past, nothing too exciting."
Since she was born into the herd, Cecelia had the same childhood as all of the other young foals in the herd. She would play with her brother, Damian, and she would spend the whole day prancing around the fields, protected by the safety of the herd. One day, she wandered further than usual from her mother with her brother. They discovered a small clearing surrounded by trees, it was heaven to them and Cecelia and Damian would stay there all day, every day. As she grew up, Cecelia learned about the dangers of humans and other predators, like mountain lions. She began to grow more weary of wandering off and visited the hideout less often. By the time she was a juvenile, she only went to her hideout with her brother once a week, but they're bond stayed as strong as ever. The months passed and Damian and Cecelia grew stronger by the day, by the time Damian was mature enough to leave the herd, he did. At first, Cecelia was heartbroken. She wouldn't talk to anyone. But, as time passed, she began to turn back into her old self and got on with her life. That pretty much leads up until now, she is now living a normal life with the herd.

Family: "Go and ask them yourself."  Her mother, Diana, her brother, Marcus.

Relationship Status: "I'm single, but I'm interested."

Crush: "I'm not telling you..." Find out in Rp.

@ღтнєℓαzумєσωzєяѕღ- I am not sure if you noticed, but you have missed 'Rank' And 'Height'. The rank is pretty clear, for she is a foal but I would like It if you put in her height, so we have a rough guide on what she looks like next to others. (If you need help on her height, I would say she is around 11 or 12hh.) But beautiful application all the same and once you have added in the missing details, you will be accepted.

@DarkPetal- EDIT: Accepted! Great application! And yes, you may be Deputy.

@Everyone- If you are wanting to join, try to make a male, but females are still being accepted. I am just finishing my own application.

Everyone wants happiness
No one wants pain
But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain
Full Name: Viska Whisper
Preferred Name: Whisper, Wisp
Gender: Mare
Age: The Mature
Breed: Mustang
Sub-Breed(s): Unavailible
Height: 15.4 hh
Origin: Wanderer
Rank: Scout

Appearance: Whisper has a slim, lithe build enabling her to run fast and keep good stamina. She is taller than an average Mustang for reasons unknown to her and is covered in a white coat. Her muzzle is a
darker shade of grey. Whisper's mane is wispy white, with the color getting closer to cream near the tips,
hence the nickname 'Wisp' she acquired when she was only a young foal.

Personality: Whisper had her own unique personality as her brother described it. After one gains her trust, she shows almost undying loyalty and respect. Her mother once said she would sacrifice the world to save a friend when she refused to go further without her brother and while she respects other beliefs, won't be afraid to give her own. Her mind may be clouded with stubbornness to things, but she also gives a good speech once in a while. Whisper's words, even if they are in a whisper, can be persuasive and charming. Her brother said once after she convinced an old horse to eat that she could, if she wanted to, convince one that a mountain lion was a friend, although that would be an overstatement. But even with those traits, Whisper can be fun-loving and generally accepting of life and what it brings.

Background: Whisper was born into a different herd to the east of the so-called 'Hooves of Rock' with her twin brother, Smoke. Their father was within the herd, but never paid attention to the twins. Their mother, on the other hand, was always around and kept them somewhat secluded from the herd for reasons unknown to Whisper. When she was still a young foal, her mother, whom they both followed tirelessly, led them away from the herd in fear of being captured by humans. Although when word of their leaving beforehand got out into the herd, they were immediately shunned and had no choice but to leave either way. The Leader of the herd, a stallion named Noir, chased them out after a few days of staying on the outskirts.

Their travels were difficult; mountain lions, wolves, and humans most of all but eventually all three of them made it. Whisper and her brother were half-starved but determination and will kept them moving and following their mother, Skara. There was a time when Smoke was separated from Whisper and his mother, and Whisper, despite Skara's attempts to leave him behind and keep going, stubbornly insisted they find him. So the two searched until they found Smoke hiding in a rock crevice, uninjured but frightened.

When the time came and they finally reached the herd, Whisper's mother practically begged the Leader to take the two of them in. Once they were accepted, Skara left, as she told her two foals, was going to wander alone. So the two of them, who by then were able to fend for themselves, stayed with the herd and grew up. Whisper grew into her own personality and became an alert, stubborn Scout, and ignored the absent looks that the older horses gave her and her brother. Although, Whisper and Smoke both made a pact that they would try and keep their origin a secret to the newer generations in fear of being shunned. They've kept it still, and now Whisper is pretty sure that even if they did know, nothing would be different, but who knows?
Family: Father - Lysande ; Mother - Skara ; Brother - Smoke ; Whisper never really knew her father, but only heard certain stories about him from her mother
Relationship Status: Single
Crush: None
Extra: "Hooves of Rock" Whisper also shares quite a close relationship with her brother because of the fact that they were outliers in the herd for awhile.

First they ignore you
Then laugh at you
Then they fight you

Full Name: Ryka Smoke
Preferred Name: Smoke, Smoky
Gender: Stallion
Age: The Mature
Breed: Mustang
Sub-Breed(s): Unavailible
Height: 15.6 hh
Origin: Wanderer
Rank: Healer

Appearance: Smoke is larger than his sister, Whisper, but has the same shape and build, although with more muscle. His coat is a dusty light grey that generally looks like he is always covered in dirt and dust. On each of his legs, the grey fades to black at the knees. Smoke's thighs have a dark-colored blotch. His face has spots of white above his eyes and nose and a line between his eyes and his muzzle is dark grey. His mane is a jet black color with tints of dark brown on the tips. His tail starts out as black and turns to dusty white to a lighter white.

Personality: Smoke is more like the opposite of Whisper--quiet, laid-back, but holds grudges. He's always stayed more secluded from the herd, remaining to himself and his thoughts. Unlike Whisper, Smoke is bitter ever since his mother had left, even if Whisper was still with him. He stands independently, yet still with the herd. One may earn his trust quickly, but it takes awhile to get anything else. Generally he'll be off daydreaming and talking to himself. Smoke likes to think of himself as indifferent to everything around him, although inside he cares about the herd deeply and would rather die than see any of its members get hurt. He believes that many of the herd think of the wrong things and take wrong paths, and since he thinks that, he also wishes that they would see sense, even though many of them already do.

Background: Smoke has had mostly the same history as his twin, Whisper, although his more in a different perspective according to his personality. He went through the same events as Whisper, but felt betrayed when their mother left instead of saddended like his sister. He also felt like picking a fight with Noir, when he ran them out despite the stallion being three times stronger and larger. Smoke also never had as much of a connection to the herd as his sister, and instead focused on helping other horses. When he became old enough, he turned into a Healer.

Like his sister he agreed to try and keep their origin a secret. Smoke knew the kinds of things other horses thought of some wanderers and he definitely remembered the disapproving looks the older horses used to give him and his sister when they first joined the herd, and even some still. Now he remains with the herd, taking care of the horses who need help and protecting the ones he cares about. Smoke is still also itching to prove himself despite the constant nagging of Whisper trying to tell him that he didn't need to do that.

Full Name :: Vachir Avalanche
Preferred Name :: Avalanche, Aval
Gender :: Stallion/Male
Age :: The Mature
Breed :: Andalusian
Sub-Breed(s) :: None
Height :: 16hh
Origin :: Blood-born
Rank :: Scout
Appearance :: Avalanche has a short smooth coat that is dipped in white, tinged with a darker grey around his muzzle and legs. His hooves are a sleek black that is often covered in mud, making it appear to be a reddish-brown. There is a thin silver stripe tracing his black along his spine that ends at the beginning of his rear. Aval has thick leg muscle due to all the climbing up and around the gorge, as well as a thick back and chest. His mane is a mix of colors, with it starting at a deep silver from the roots and fading out to a cloudy white or beige, having the length to fall over his neck and shoulders, as well as the occasional strands that cover his rich dark hazel eyes. His tail on the other hand is completely white but has more of a beige tint on the ends.
Personality :: Avalanche is not the most friendly of all horses, yet he composes himself with a respectful manner when it is expected of him. He strives for ambition, being proud of what he does and how he does it, often becoming upset when those get in his way. To him your first impression will always state who you are in his book always being quick to pull a judgement call. Aggression and violence is easily brought out of him if you are not cautious about what you say to him.  Besides his constant hostility, he is extremely loyal to the herd and his leader, Talon, and will go to extreme lengths to make sure that the herd is kept away from harm while those actions are sometimes considered unacceptable. He is skeptical of wanderers who were not born into the herd, always questioning their loyalty and motives. It is hard to dig into his inner heart, opening up his true emotions that have been long since hardened and glazed over. The world itself is a mystery to Avalanche, who he himself wishes to unravel it.
Background :: In a cold and rainy night in the spring, Avalanche's mother bared twin foals, something uncommon and risky among the horse herds. Avalanche was a pale version of his smoky grey brother Notch who was more mischievous than he. The herd thought they would not make it through the harsh days of rain that followed after their birth with little milk available for both of the foals. Oddly, they pulled through and became a healthy pair playing with all the the other foals while their parents watched on cautiously. It wasn't too long after they grew into sturdy juveniles when their father and mother came down with a sickness during one winter, not being able to recover and suffered a painful death. From that day on his brother was never the same, blaming the healer at the time and their new leader at the time, Talon who was only a few seasons older, about their parents death and about how they should have been able to do something about it. As was there a change in Avalanche, his heart grew colder but he knew that the healer had done all that they could have managed though his brother would not listen to his reasoning. At last Notch had reached his peak, seeking revenge on his parent's death in attempt to overthrow the herd by luring them into an 'abandoned' cave that housed a couple of mountain lions. He was quick to rat his brother out before anyone's life was put in danger, his mind filled with utter disbelief as Notch was exiled shortly after without a word. Avalanche grew more aggressive and serious after the exile of his brother. He was determined as ever to prove himself. Years flew by and he no longer finds himself in that position, but is always on the patrol for danger.
Family :: Avalanche currently has no kin in the herd, but once upon a season this statement would have been different. His brother is the only one who is still alive, though as a traitor he has been exiled and roams elsewhere.
Relationship Status :: Single.
Crush :: None.
Extra :: 'Hooves of Rock' (I hope his history is acceptable.)

(Derp, double post)
When the sun start's to shade the tree's, they know the time is right...

A strong heat was seasoning the morning as the sun began to wake. The grass was wet and the air humid, not the ideal combination, for it was very sticky. The dry air blew no wind, leaving the sun to burn on the scenery. The lake nearby where the wild animals drank rippled silently as fish began to grab the bugs that settled on the surface, the odd drop flying in the air and plopping back down. The rich, lush tree's stood grandly, providing shade for the land creatures. The morning provided dew on he grass blades, providing some cool water droplets for the grass snakes to settle in and the odd wolverine to lye in. Pure Oak Herd was hidden in a small forest of yellow, red and orange tree's, the leaves changing as autumn slowly crept up upon them. Summer was starting to mellow, but not quick enough for most creatures. The horses was stirring as the chirps of jays and other summer birds began to slowly sing, the ringing beauty of their voice echoing around the bottom of the gorge. This time of year was so beautiful, despite the heat, but not many animals wish to be around this part of the forest. The horses ruled here and it was not the prettiest of times during the ending of summer. During this time, the recruiting halts, for the leader would never accept any new horses during the end of summer, and the beginning of the breeding season. Ferocity blooms during this time, despite the fact the herd's rules say it does not tolerate it. Talon, the leader, has never yet bared a daughter nor son for the heir of the next generation and this is the year he was hoping for the leadership to continue. Most stallion's get defensive and most mare's get broody, although some are not interested in starting a family at-all. The herd has to rely on Talon to make sure nothing will go wrong during this time of the month, for a disaster would be tragic for the new born foals. The leader has to make the trip up the gorge along with his deputy or a scout to make sure it is a safe enough path, but nothing can be done about the mountain lion's that prowl around each corner. The horses just have to wish to the heavens for their safety.

The rule's count more than ever in the late summer, and so the leader need's allot of help from his Deputy to make sure everything is in order and that they will be able to make the trip up the gorge a success. The scout's must be on their guard more often and the healer's to be practicing their healing to be top notch in case of a sever emergency. Foal watcher's must keep on their guard in-case of a sudden danger. The herd must stick together and trust each other if they are to make it through the most important season of all.

Let the role-playing begin!

Full Name: Micah.
Preferred Name: Micah, but some usually call her Mic, or Mich.
Gender: Micah is a mare/female.
Age: She is an adult.
Breed: Micah is in fact a Mustang.
Sub-Breed(s): No, she doesn't have an sub-breeds.
Height: She is about 16.2 hh,
Origin: She is a wanderer, and joined the herd a few days ago.
Rank: May i be a deputy, bit if not i'll be a mother/foal watcher.
Appearance: She is quite a stocky horse with lovely brown eyes, she has a luscious black mane and tail that are almost like silk and will have the odd tat in, nicely kept for a wild horse if you ask me. She has large, strong hooves that can do some damage if needed and good for when shes running. Her pelt/fur is a lovely dark brown/bay color, with her also having black socks and she does have black around her muzzle.
Personality: Micah is quite the stubborn mare and never usually back down from a challenge, not even if it could risk her life, she is also quite brave and daring but that does not mean she isn't scared of anything. She is scared of death she hates the fact all living things must die, and does get scared when her herd/band are in danger/under attack. Also she is quite the feisty/aggressive mare and she often throws her weight around, hence she us quite the large muscular horse. She does tend to be cocky at times and have a bitter attitude sometimes causing her to get into trouble usually with the leader. Now lets get off the horrid side of her and onto the nice side, at times this mare can act like a big foal and prance around the fields with no care i the world. Usually galloping up the hills are rolling around in the dirt, rearing and bucking and running through water. She has a love for foals and that's why she wants the role of that rank in the herd, but also because she is practically like them apart from being a lot larger and older.
Background: The season had came and it was time for the breeding to start. A fairly sized herd lived amongst the hills, in secret for a while. A large bay stallion ran the herd and it was his job to reproduce with the mares. Star a Favorited mare of the herd was the first to become pregnant and she to was also a bay horse. Many months passed and Star gave birth to a beautiful bay filly, the two horses were very proud in the foal they had produce. They decided to call her Micah. She was one of the favorite foals, towards those who hadn't had any or the elders, because of her unique temperament. Many days passed and she began to grow smarter, larger, stronger and even more curious. The months went on and she began to turn into a beautiful girl.
A year later she still lived in her parents herd and she enjoyed it, she thought she would always like with them in secret but she was wrong. Once day many humans came in trucks and on horse back, they began to chase the herd. The band ran staying together for the many miles they ran. Humans began coming in left, right and center causing the herd to depart, and nearly all were separated. Using her skills and what she learnt she ran through the forest and the long grass coming to a small area filled with hills where she waited for an hour or so, then going to look for her herd. To her surprise she couldn't find any one the herd anywhere, her heart dropped as she assumed they were lost or had actually been caught. In time she decided to join a new her, but she still sees many lone horses around that do look like some of her old herd members and even her parents. Which makes her wonder, but she'll never know.
Family: Well she assumes her family are dead hence she hasn't really seen them since she was a foal, she does see the odd horse around that does look a lot like one of her parents, but until the day she socializes and finds out the sooner she'll find out if it is actually them or not.
Relationship Status: No, she is single but interested.
Crush: Well she doesn't really have a crush yet as she needs to get to know the stallions better.
Extra: 'Hooves Of Rock'.

Cecelia

Cecelia watched as the other horses of the herd began to stir and wake up. She had already been awake, paranoid that there would be an attack on the herd at anytime. She was lying in the shade of a tall tree that was looming over her, keeping her cool. The day was unbearably hot, the sun's rays were not shielded by a thin layer of cloud like they usually were, and there was no wind to cool the dry air. After a few moments of hesitation, Cecelia got up from the grass and stretched, relaxing the tense muscles in her legs. She shook her mane, letting it fall over her eyes to shield them from the glare of the sun. She walked around the herd, she did this every morning to ensure everything was running smoothly and nothing was out of place. She snorted as she saw the odd grass snake slithering amongst the long grass and she attempted to chase them away, only resulting in her tripping over her own hooves. The mare felt her snout twitching as she inhaled the pollen from the few dandelions she had accidently crushed as she tripped. Cecelia held her breath, trying to hold in the sneeze that was rising from the back of her throat. She gave in after a few agonising moments of holding her breath, sneezing loudly and possibly waking up the majority of the herd. She tried to escape to the lake, resulting in her stepping on many other horses and receiving grumbles in return.

The young foal had been relaxing, resting against an oak wood tree as her weary brown orbs blinked slowly. She had really just awoken from her peaceful slumber- having been frolicking and running all night under the protection of the herd was tiring- and made the young one sleep most of the night, only waking up to dizzily watch horses snuggle down to go to sleep. Inxis gave a small snort, wiggling her body from the tree and letting it collapse sleepily against the soft green grass. She had even opened her mouth to chew a few strands flying too close to her mouth, but she had just laid happily and content as she tried to wake her young body up. Slowly, she opened her mouth in a small yawn, blowing her rebellious tan mane from out of her face, her fluffy tail swishing behind her as she wiggled a bit- trying to get up from the floor. She had rolled upwards, once again leaning against the tree but instead now using it to help her balance her firm legs. Her rump rose up in the air, and she wiggled it slightly as she used her front hooves to push her small figure upwards. Once she was up, she stretched a little, looking around as she kicked out her back legs to test them out. It was another hot day- she had noticed, and she grumbled slightly as she looked up with a glare. The sun was going to be an annoyance today, wasn't it? The foal had looked around, seeing the rest of the herd awaking as she gave a sigh. Her eyes scanned the various other foals that were waking up with their mothers, and she gave a small lower of her head as she gave a small frown, tail swishing once more before she began to nibble lightly on the delicious green, ripe grass below her, savoring the taste and flavor.

Viska Whisper
(http://i40BannedImageSite/qn2rtg.jpg)
Everyone wants happiness
No one wants pain
But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain

Rays of sun made Whisper blink, her eyes opening for the first time since she went to sleep. She was already standing, her knees locked to prevent herself from falling during her slumber. A lush pine tree loomed above her, providing shade although letting certain dots of sun get through. Wispy strands of white hair fell into view at the top of her eyes, and she cocked her head to the side to relieve her neck muscles. Whisper snorted softly as she spotted her twin brother, Smoke, a few feet away still sleeping under another pine. His dark mane fell down across one side of his neck, swaying gently with the calm breeze. The white mare picked up one leg at a time to ensure she could balance easily when she walked. She then walked the few paces it took to get to her brother and nudged his cheek lightly to wake him. When Whisper was satisfied he was truly waking up, she wandered away from him toward where she had last seen the majority of the herd.

The first horse Whisper saw as she approached was a chestnut-colored mare--Cecelia, the Deputy of the herd. She was walking around inspecting the herd, Whisper guessed. As she stepped out from beneath the shady trees, she immediately thanked her mother for giving her the white coat she had. Any black-colored horse would have been unbelieviably sweating on the hot day. After inspecting where the majority of the herd was, Whisper stepped back into the shade of the trees and went to scout around to see if any dangers lurked while the horses slowly awoke into the sunny day.

Ryka Smoke
(http://i42BannedImageSite/2qiqnw3.jpg)
First they ignore you
Then laugh at you
Then they fight you
Then you win

As Smoke's eyes fluttered open, he could see Whisper's light-colored tail disappearing behind a thicket of trees. For a moment, he stood there staring at the spot he last could see her and then stretched his leg muscles. A slight breeze caressed the stallion's cheek, and he turned to face it, inhaling as many as the scents as possible. After a moment or two, he started out after the trail Whisper had left from--toward where a majority of the herd were resting. He gazed at the scenery as he went, trying to memorize every little detail. When he reached the herd, Smoke stopped to look around. Whisper wasn't to be seen--probably off scouting like she was supposed too. He strolled through the throng of bodies carefully, trying not to disrupt any horses from their needed sleep. The warmer months were starting to leave, Smoke knew, and that meant that soon enough the herd would travel up the gorge. It was never too soon to start preparing for the trek. It was certainly rare for many horses to fall off the ledge. At least since Talon's mother's death. But everyone knew mountain lions often hid among the rocks and injuries occurred. If that happened, Smoke had to be ready.

(@Taylor- EDIT: Great application, Taylor! Accepted.)

(@Everyone- Sorry for the delay on my post! I have been busy with raking my brain for a job idea when I am 18. And I finally have the answer. C= Plus, I will change this into a RP post.)

?Talon 'Sagittarius Talon'?
Deep, slow, heavy breathing was emitting from the Andalusian stallion whom was fully awake and staring at the large lake, glistening in the late summer morning rays. Talon often shifted his weight as sounds behind him told that a few of the horses where beginning to awake. He stood up straighter as he began to slouch, not wanting to give the herd a idea of him being tired. The leader had been awake half of the night, looking for danger's that could have been approaching. The slightest noise had awoken him, just to see one of the mothers shifting in her sleep. By the time it was three in the morning, Talon could no longer close his eyes. The constant waking up was driving him crazy, so he decided to watch over the herd for the rest of the night, making sure his ears where like radars so any mysterious sounds could be chased off.

The night had been long, the odd cricket singing and the often rustle behind him giving the motivation to stay awake. He wanted to stay awake so he could prepare his herd for the day ahead, but that could not stop him being drowsy. Talon started to rest his eyes, thinking through the regular dreams he had dreamt. They were friendly by the bit's he can remember, but the heavens where desperately trying to break into his thoughts at night but a strong burden was on the mature stallion's mind, causing a blockage for the heavens to communicate. Talon realized he was starting to fall to sleep, and in a attempted to stay fully awake, he breathed in deeply and let out a loud, low sigh. There was a uncertain air around him as glimmer's of light began to shine above the top of the gorge, the sky beginning to turn a deep orange. He knew by the colour of the sky there was going to be a heat-wave. Talon flicked his tail roughly and leaned his body forwards, his neck bent and his muzzle to the grass blades. He took a deep in-take of air through his nostrils, a combination of pollen, autumn leaves and strong heat filled him. The day was going to be unbearably hot, but they had the lake to stay by and the grass to graze on so they should be able to keep themselves at a good temperature.

A few hours had passed and Talon was still standing strong, the horses behind him beginning to awake with the light of the day piecing through their eye lids. The heat had rose to a higher level and the stallion was becoming restless. He began to shake his head from the sweat which was starting to accumulate and decided he needed to move towards the lake to cool down. His body was as hot as an oven, for he had stood under the sun for a long time whilst looking out for his herd. His heavy body swayed as he walked, his hooves moving in a perfect motion, his muscles compressing in his shoulders and thighs with every step. Dew dripping grass blades licked his hooves and cannon's as he went. He picked up his pace into a trot when he was a few meters away from the lakes bank. There was a distant beat of hooves coming close up behind him. Talon paused and turned his head around to see the approaching horse full on. It was his father, Harkus whom had apparently followed him. "Hello father" Talon said in a well mannered tone. "Do you need something?"
Harkus shook his head, the elderly horse beginning to show signs of being under weight.
"Son" Began Talon's father in a mature, sensible tone. "Have you been having unusual dreams, like something is trying to break into them? Something like a message is trying to paste itself on your brain?" Harkus said, flicking his tail upwards as he spoke. Talon looked at him in a strange fashion. What was his father going on about?
"Dad, what do you mean? Nothing strange has been going on and certainly not in my dreams." Harkus gave him a stare in disbelief, but realized he had no right to call the leader a lyer. Giving a nod of his head, the elderly male turned around and swaggered back to the herd. Talon was unsure of what his father meant, but something was strange about his dreams. Talon's mind flashed back to his father and how poorly he was looking. He was becoming thinner by the day, even though he grazed non-stop. Talon knew the time would come that his father would pass, but he refused to believe that it would be soon. The stallion moistened his mouth with the cool, refreshing water of the lake. He swallowed, the liquid settling in his stomach and refreshingly, it cooled him down. More than half of the herd was awake now and most where beginning to scout, bid a good morning to each other and race towards the lake. Talon snorted in amusement as he saw that Cecelia was the cause for a few awakes. Whisper and Smoke, both reliable and trust worthy sibling where beginning their morning routine of checking the boundaries and practicing healing. Through the shaded tree's, Talon could see Inxis grazing upon the fresh grass. The stallion was blessed to be leader of such a trust worthy herd, but as the day would drive on that trust would be put to the test...

Cecelia
"Sorry" The chestnut mare whispered multiple times as she finally reached the lake. She watched as the sun slowly rose up and over the hills, a warm breeze blew around her and she made the most of it, tossing her head to cool down her mane. She changed from a slow walk to a steady trot. She had to stay on duty.
Every once in a while, she would see a horse she knew for the herd and she would politely nod her head in greeting. Her hooves splashed in the shoreline as she trotted around the outskirts of the lake, checking for any signs of danger. At last, she slowed down to a walk as her favourite meadow came into view. Her eyes settled on Talon, and she bowed her head in respect, "Sir" She said in greeting, looking up through her lashes at the stallion.

 -Sorry, very short.-

The bay mare began to stir as the sweet songs of the birds echoed through her ears, rustling of grass along with it. A small light shone upon her eyes lids as they slowly began to flutter open, but not very far. Almost like she was squinting. She awoke from her slumber under the shade of to oak tree as she lay lazily for a few minutes, still half asleep. Her head turned left, right and center as she peered around watching her herd members begin to work. Her attention turning to a chestnut mare who seemed to have been awake for quite some time, as Micah gave a dip of her head. Her attention turned to the others as she nodded her head, her ears flicking.
Micah lifted from her slumber in the shade as the suns burning rays locked onto her pelt, causing her to feel as if she was burning. Letting out a snort her nostrils flared, and her tail flicked. The brown mare shook her pelt as small particles of dust flew from her beautiful pelt. The song of the birds continued to echo through her ears causing her to have a slight smile to her face. The mares attention turning to the small foal as it began to wake, a slightly larger smile grew upon her black muzzle. She loved foals and had always had a soft spot for them, but that doesn't mean she won't be stern. Micah stomped her coal colored hoof against the ground a few times, then stopping and lifting her head. The heat irritated her pelt as she had just woke, flicking her black, long tail she backed up a little further into the shade and closer to the tree where she stood for several minutes awaiting the rest of the herd to wake.

Viska Whisper
(http://i40BannedImageSite/qn2rtg.jpg)
Everyone wants happiness
No one wants pain
But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain

Whisper wove through the trees delicately, sniffing the air every once in a while and keeping a vigilant eye out for anything unusual or dangerous. Part of her mind drifted with the scenery, watching the birds sing from the tree canopies or squirrels scavenging for nuts in the roots below whilst the other half was constantly investigating every sound and smell there was.

The trees ahead of her broke into a sun-lit meadow filled with tall, lush green grass and flowers. At the sight of it, the mare glanced around behind quickly. She could barely see the lake, but she could see that more horses were beginning to wake and head towards the lake. Whisper turned her back to them and started at a trot toward the meadow, then to a slow lope, and then broke into a gallop as she reached the opening. She galloped through the meadow enjoying the free feeling. Her mane and tail billowed in back of her as she ran, going slightly up and down as her hooves grazed the ground. As the general middle of the meadow neared, Whisper sped up until she was upon the spot. Then she stopped abruptly and pushed with her two front hooves upward sending herself rearing. She stood on her two hind legs for a moment, and it seemed like nothing could hurt her. She let out a loud cry of triumph that seemed to echo--although whether it really did she was unsure--and then landed back down on all four, her mane set on one side of her neck. After her moment of glory ended, she trotted to the other side of the meadow and into the shady trees again, returning to her original state of scouting and listening.

While she passed a pine tree, though, she was ignorant to see the hole that was awaiting to ensnare a larger creature like herself. Another step forward, and Whisper let out an indignant whinny as her hoof slipped down into the hole. A slight tingle of pain shot up her leg, but not enough to stop her from quickly getting out her foot and starting to inspect the hole. An abandoned rabbit hole. Whisper confirmed to herself silently. Gingerly testing her leg first, she continued onward to finish her round, thanking that no one from her herd saw that embarrassing scene. That rabbit must just be trying to anger a horse into searching for him and stomping on his perky little ears. She snorted defiantly, annoyed at the rabbit, and annoyed at herself for caring about such a petty thing.

Ryka Smoke
(http://i42BannedImageSite/2qiqnw3.jpg)
First they ignore you
Then laugh at you
Then they fight you
Then you win

Smoke made his way to the edge of the treeline, staring ahead at the lake. It was tempting to go take a dip, but the water was already getting crowded with horses of the herd and the stallion had other business he had to tend to. Practicing remedies, wandering, practicing remedies...Yes, it was a very busy schedule.

Right before Smoke turned to go to the log he'd found earlier, something stopped him. That tiny part in the back of his head--the one that seemed to be connected to the heavens, his mother had said proudly--seemed to be waiting impatiently as if he were supposed to be doing something. Don't do this to me, Smoke pleaded to that strange part of his mind. Just tell me. I don't need grief within my own thoughts. But nothing else came, and so he waited, as he did before. And after a minute or two, Whisper appeared somewhat limping between the trees toward him. Despite that, she didn't look in pain nor did she look like she was hurt very badly.

"You're awake. Good. That's another thing off my checklist." Whisper stopped in front of him and the smell of fresh flowers and pine washed over him. "Let me see your leg." Smoke let his neck drop down so he was eye level with her knee and inspected it casually. "Did you get attacked by chipmunks? Or did you step into a rabbit hole again?" Smoke commented half-heartedly. He was also compacting his thoughts, preparing for the thing he did best when she interrupted him again. When he looked back up again, her ears were flattened against her head in annoyance. "Shut up. I don't need healing." With that, she stomped off toward the lake, leaving Smoke exasperated in the dust.

Mares... Smoke snorted and turned away, heading back towards where the log was.

The fawn gave a small snort, her narrowed chocolate brown orbs looking at all the other horses, as she stomped her hoof slightly at a small bee that thought her hoof was a flower. She looked up, and gave a small frown when she realized that no one had come to greet the young horse. The foal shook out her head, moving slowly out of the protection of the tree and moving out to bask in the day's sunlight. The horse rose her head to the sky, taking in a breathe of the warm morning breeze as her tail swished slowly behind her- ears flicking this way and that as she looked at everything around her. Inxis then travelled slowly to the lake, head held high as she trotted over to the water, her small, fluffy tail still swishing behind her as she lowered her head to take a drink. She allowed the water to soothe her throat, and also soothe the heat that was starting as the morning continued on. She had then nibbled on the nearby grass, not bothering to speak to anyone. It's not as if she had any other foals to speak too. Adults were so boring sometimes, Inxis had thought with a small grunt, before she took a glance at the leader of the herd. She snorted once more before trotting away from the water- intent on exploring the area. It's not as if she had anything better to do. She galloped off- not far away from the herd, but still a good distance from the leader, she had stopped only to nudge a few things and nibble on a few plants, but she still continued to walk forward and explore further.

The water scattered under the parched horse's touch, as his head was bent to take a sip from the now sun-warmed waters that sent ripples to dance away from his muzzle. He greedily ushered the water into is mouth feeling its smooth form trickle down his throat and into his awaiting water desperate stomach. A snort escaped the mostly white stallion as his ears were swiveled in different directions. One towards the morning calm waters infront of him reflecting the hazy morning sky, and the other towards the herd slightly behind him that was now awake and moving around aimlessly. Avalanche had woken up only moment before, with the humid air driving is dehydrated body to the water's edge. He had welcomed sleep without hesitation last night, having being worn out in the previous day's blazing heat.

The scout retreated to the grassy terrain with his tail flicking any fly that dared to come close. His sleep heavy legs protested with each gaping step he took until he stopped in a patch of ankle high grass that tickled his smoky grey legs. He found himself munching away on the lush plant, enjoying the bitter sweet taste that excited his taste buds. His gaze floated among the horses that passed by, sending them small greetings and twitches with his ears in acknowledgement to those who stopped to feed around him.

Sorry to interrupt in the role play, but may I join? ))

Full Name: " The name's Avonaco.. how about you? Gah, forget I even asked.. " / 'Lean Bear' in Cheyenne. /

Preferred Name: (Nicknames) " You can call me Avon.. or Vonaco.. just please dont give me weird nicknames.. " / Avon or Vonaco. /

Gender: " I think you can easily tell that I'm a boy.. right? " /Male. /

Age: " I'm not a little foal anymore, I'm a yearling! Well, I'm kinda still a foal.. but you know what I mean! " / Yearling. /

Breed: " I'm kinda different, but who cares? " / Appendix Horse. /

Sub-Breed(s):  / Quarter Horse X Thoroughbred. /

Height: " I'd really like to not be called shorty.. " / 13 Hands. /

Origin: " Being a wander wasn't that bad.. " / Wander. /

Rank: " I'm just a foal, and that's nothing too special. " / Foal. /

Appearance: Avon is a quite lean horse, with long skinny legs, and a thin build. He's not the heaviest horse either. His black mane is still short, though it'll grow to be longer soon enough. The horse's fur color is dark bay, though he has lighter fur on his rump. The fur darkens to a blackish color when it reaches his hooves. He has no facial markings whatsoever.

Personality: This yearling is usually energetic, 'cool', and sarcastic. In serious situations, he tries to stay all calm and collected, though there is times when he has to hold back from chattering/asking questions. His attitude towards other foals is basically rough, because he likes to 'horse' around.( Haha, I made a funny. :D ) Avon tends to think things through before acting though, always following the 'Look Before You Leap' motto. When it comes to danger, he usually is a big scaredy cat on the inside, but he tries not to show it around others. He's is very cocky when it comes to challenges with other foals, like racing.

Background: Originally, this foal's life started out in a different herd. He had made a few friends in the old herd, though he often wonders where they are right now.. Avon and his group of friends had gone for a little race in the large plains, and they had promised their watchers that they would stay far enough to be seen. Though that didn't turn out too well. While Avon and his two other friends raced each other through the long, green grass, they haven't really kept track of where they were running off too. Soon, they took it into consideration that they actually went too far, and they were actually lost.
Scared and afraid, the two of his friends decided to turn around, and head back towards the way that they thought the herd was, while Avonaco went the other direction, leaving him to be alone.. by himself with no one to protect him. Luckily, it was still the morning, and he could see everything fine. The tall, wavy grass was a nice sight to look at, though it kind of reminded him of the area that he was searching for. Home. The foal soon got impatient with his pace, so he began to trot instead of taking the slow pace of walking. Honestly, he didn't know where he was going, but he was way past tired. Laying down for a small rest, he was soon greeted by taller, stranger horses. The sight kind of scared him, but in some way, he thought they wouldn't hurt him, but in another way, he should have bolted.

Family: "To be honest.. I don't know what happened to my family, I guess I'll just have to find them one day.. " / Missing/Dead. /

Relationship Status: " No thank you.. gross. " / Single. /

Crush: " Gross.. girls are too.. yuck. " / None. /

Extra: 'Hooves Of Rock.'

?Talon 'Sagittarius Talon'?

The whiskers of the Andalusian stallion where tipped with droplets of water as he drank from the large lake. His hooves where firm in place, for the mucky mud was sticking him there fast. Flaring his nostrils as he paused from drinking, Talon inhaled the scent of horses whom where trotting over to the water hole to cool down from the late summer heat. As he paused, the male lifted up his large head and diverted his dark orbs towards his deputy whom had directed a greeting to him. Talon was surprised at how formal she was. "Cecelia, you need not to call me sir. Talon would be fine." He said, a hint of amusement in his voice. Flicking up his tail of urban, he manoeuvres his body in the direction of his Deputy. "Has everybody awoke? I can't have sleeping horses at this point in the day; There is too much risk." He said, directing her to a task. "If horses are still sleeping, you must wake them up immediately. I have a few scouting task's to do so there is no need to find me once you have done so." Finishing his sentence, he herd a small snort from behind him. Looking around, he saw Inxis galloping off away from the lake, a fair distance from the rest of the herd and himself. Turning back towards his deputy, he affectionately nudged his nuzzle on her shoulder to strengthen their bond before trotting in the direction of Inxis. Talon had not properly acknowledged her since she was bonded with the herd, because his duties got in the way with talking to most of the horses. The beat of his hooves varied as he changed from a trot to a light canter. The foal seemed to be intent of grazing the wilting flowers and summer grass.  Talon Tossed his head upwards as he slowed, a good few meters away from the young Arabian. The stallion was not the best when he talked to the foals of the herd, mainly because he never had talked to anyone when he was young, so he tried his best to interact with her.
"Hello Inx. Would you mind if I could divert your activities for a while? I could need some...help with scouting the perimeter." Unsure of if his words where difficult for a foal, he shifted his weight awkwardly as he tried to think what foals would say to each other. His past never helped him in anything, but as he tried to think, he thought 'What past?'
"The...there is allot to be done and i could use some...help." Talon really needed to do better with interacting with the young of the herd if he was to ever raise a foal of his own one day.
"Afterwards we could hold a competition with everyone if you wish. Like a large race?"
The Andalusian stallion blinked a couple of times for an answer, but sudden a pain rose in his head. He tried his best not to show his dis-comfort, but the pain was so harsh, small trickles of sweat rolled down from his forehead. He let out a small, unsure knicker of agonizing pain, his large head in the direction of the tree's where the healers would most likely be. They would surely know what is happening. Clenching his teeth together, he inhaled deeply and looked down at the filly. "L-lets go...this way." He said with a struggle, walking forwards. The pain was growing until a sharp, short snap crackled in the distance. The pain paused for a few moment, and then gently started to throb. That sharp noise was nothing that Talon had heard in his life, of which he can remember, but something must have caused it and it was certainly nothing of which the herd could of caused. Talon turned his head in the direction of the sound, paused, and then heard a closer snap. The stallion squinted as he tried to figure out what it was, until he finally realized that he had to warn the herd of it. If anything was threatening the herd, he had to make sure it was banished. His dark eyes diverted down to the young foal, unsure of how far he should go in his suspicions. "It's nothing to worry about it was just...go back to the herd and get Cecelia, Whisper and Avalanche. Now. Go." He spoke, nudging the foals hind as he did so. A roar of a bear echoed in the forest around half a mile away. Talon dared not to gaze away. He had to make sure he had the unknowing target withing  his eye sight, even if he couldn't see it. The bear's roar echoed again. It was surely attacking whatever had made that loud noise. A faint but, clear knicker of a foreign horse sounded, but it had the tone of plea in it's voice. Talon could not let a horse suffer, even if he could not accept it into the herd, but for now, he had to wait for his ordered scouts and Deputy to come and search with him. Going in the forest alone would be a death sentence for any plant-eating animal. The pain in his head was gone and somehow, Talon knew that it had to be connected, but he would not know until he found the source of the noise which was now dead.

Cecelia
The chestnut mare's tail gently swayed to keep the flies away as Talon gave her a task. "Of course, Talon." She chuckled and trotted towards the clearing where many of the other horses were grazing. After a full round of the herd, she had woken around seven other horses and her throat was dry with thirst. She cantered over to the clear lake, she averted her eyes from the reflection of the glaring sun on the still waters, she knew what damage it could do to her eyes. Just as Cecelia was about to take her first sip of the cool water, her ears flicked forward as she heard a distant snap. She nickered quietly, looking around to see if anyone else had heard the unfamiliar sound. It was just your imagination She told herself as she continued to drink the water, letting the cold liquid refresh her.

?
?
The young foal had been intent on exploring, tail swishing behind her as she scanned the skies- running about and rearing up at some plants for some fun. She didn't notice that the herd-leader was coming, so she had continued on her exploration- before her ears had twitched and she had heard the sound of hooves. The defensive female had turned around, flailing her hooves at the intruder- however quickly calmed down when she had realized it was just Talon. The horse's head tilted slightly, wondering why he had followed her- but she didn't become rude, and instead offered a friendly flick of her tail. She had never really spoken to the leader when she had gotten there, and she had felt a tiniest nervous feeling starting in her belly as she looked at him- however her strong and confident attitude forced herself to not lower or avert her eyes from his own. She took a deep breath, before speaking. "Ello, Talon!" She said in a friendly manner- eyes closing in delight when she had realized she managed to speak without saying something to embarrass herself. She listened to him speak, and gave a small twitch of her tail as she considered his words. How fun that would be? She had never been allowed to scout with Talon before! She was about to agree- when he spoke again, and she eagerly nodded her head, tail flicking behind her as she beamed up at him. "Sure! I'd love to help!" She added, and after hearing his other words Inxis was sure he had made her day. A big race?! A competition?!

The arabian reared up in excitement, she had loved to race! Racing with the other foals was fun, but she had never really tried to go against the adults- they had long legs. But whenever she had lost a race, she had tried to run faster- even going on long gallops around the area- she had done many endurance and speed races, and she had always tried to be better, so maybe, just maybe she could go up against an adult horse. Inxis blinked at him, watching him- but tilted her head when she had looked at him curiously. Why was he sweating? She had been surprised when he had let out a knicker of pain, and she gave a small frown as her tail swished slowly behind her, she was about to ask what was wrong, when he had said they should go a certain way. The foal snorted lightly in suspicion, but she chose to ignore whatever was happening to him as she trotted slowly next to him, giving a small jump when she heard a snap in the distance. She looked at Talon in confusion, wondering what had made that noise, and she had wanted to go see what it was when he told her to go back to the herd and get the others- she had nodded at him, but gave an angry snort when he had nudged her hindquarters, but she did listen and was sent running off at a good speed back towards the area where the herd resided. She looked about randomly, spying Cecelia taking a  drink of water from the cool lake that provided a fine water source for the various horses drinking near her.

The female foal trotted on over, speaking on in a hurried voice- mainly because she had hear the roar of the bear as well when she had been running off to go find the needed horses. "Talon said to come to him." She had spoken, before darting off to find the others. What if some had wandered away and she couldn't find them? Well, she could see Avalanche after she had scanned the various horses that were waking up, he was eating some various plants- and she had walked over slowly still thinking about what was going on- she'd most likely have to lead Cecelia, Whisper, and Avalanche to Talon, wouldn't she? That means she would be able to see the danger too, right? The foal excitedly gave another swish of her tail, but she quickly opened her mouth to speak to the sleepy scout. "Talon wants you to come to him." She had said, before trotting off to find Whisper- the last one that Talon had wanted her to find. Inxis looked around for a moment- before seeing something, or someone going off into the meadow. She trotted off after the horse curiously- giving a sigh of relief when she saw it was the one she was searching for. "Whisper!" The filly called, running over towards the mare, tail flicking. "Talon, he needs you, I guess." Then she had stopped, staring at Whisper, not really stopping to see if the other scouts were following her, or the deputy before taking off towards Talon- intent on getting to him. She didn't bother to try and force the scouts and deputy to go, but she knew they'd probably follow if Talon was the one that needed them. The foal then spotted the stallion, and slowly she had walked up to Talon, looking at the tall horse with a snort, tail flicking slowly behind her.

"Micah"

Micah stood for several minutes as the suns burning rays shone onto her bay pelt as her tail flicked swatting away flies that tried to land onto her, the sound of birds tweeting filled her ears as they shot around at the many different sounds that surrounded the herd. The thuds of hooves and swish of grass could also be heard as the other horses gracefully walked around. A smile grew across her face as she spotted the small foal wake she gave a nod of her head then a smile, not sure on how to introduce herself to the foal as she was knew at the whole foal watching thing. Her mouth became dry as she stood near the tree she let out a snort as her nostrils flared. The mare stepped forward and began to trot towards the lake her head nodded up and down as she walked as her black silky tail continued to flick. Her hooves stomped agains the ground as the gras began to slightly flatten. The soft flowing river was stood infront of her as she let out a nicker, slowly walking a little into the water as the coolness of it caused her to smile and begin to cool down. Micah craned her neck down as she began to lap up the cool water, then lifting her head at the sound of a cracking sound, watter droplets dripped from her muzzle as her eyes paced around. Birds flew up from trees in the distance as she heard another crack sound then the roar of what sounded like a bear.
Her heart began to slightly thud as she walked into the direction of the sound then excelling into a trot then a gallop as she ran towards it. The ground shook a little as she done so, her ears continued to twitch as she looked around. Another roar and crack sounding as she let out a snort. Her large coal grey hooves stomped against the ground as she came to a stop spotting the large stallion 'Talon' she slowly backed off a little incase her presence alarmed him are cause him to get a little annoyed. She looked at the large brute as she let out a nicker then nodding her brown head. She felt nervous talking to the leader but it had to be done as she lived in his herd "W-what was the noise?" She asked slightly tilting her head as she spoke with a soft tone her attention locked onto the leader as she wondered if he knew.

Viska Whisper
(http://i39BannedImageSite/2nimrsj.jpg)
Everyone wants happiness
No one wants pain
But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain

After the exchange of words with Smoke, Whisper had went to refresh herself the cold water of the lake. The cool liquid soothed her dry throat as she gulped it down by the mouthful. After she'd drank all she needed, the mare turned her back to the lake searching for something to do when another thought came to mind. Whisper's tail swished happily at the idea as she turned around and wadded into the somewhat transparent shallows. Relief spreaded through her limbs as her whole body--excluding her neck and up--finally submerged under the surface. Her hooves gently grazed the bottom of the lake as she swam in a circle, enjoying the feeling of being away from the heat. She didn't notice the strange sound in the distance, but she did hear the loud roar of a bear near where she had scouted earlier. Are you kidding me? Whisper paddled ashore quickly, annoyed that a danger had suddenly appeared so close to where she had been looking.

As Whisper reached the shoreline, she only had a second before Inxis came trotting over to her. "Hello, Inxis." The mare greeted the foal, but was only focusing on what Inxis said next--something she had been expecting. After the foal had informed her Talon wanted to see her, she'd bolted off leaving Whisper there. The scout followed behind her more slowly covering her awkward limping gait. Stopping for a moment when she could see Talon, Whisper raised her muzzle to the sky and sniffed the air, just to make sure Smoke wasn't anywhere near the bear or whatever it was attacking. The smell confirmed it was not him, for even though he could hold his own, she knew he wouldn't last a minute fighting a full-grown bear despite being able to outrun one.

Grunting, Whisper hurried toward where Inxis had reunited with Talon and the other he'd apparently requested were gathering. A few steps away from them, she asked, "What's happening? I just scouted there. How can something so big not be seen by me? It's impossible!" Her back foot lifted and stomped the ground. Glancing at where she last remembered the source coming from, she snorted and nodded toward it. Taking a tentative step toward it, Whisper suddenly stopped, remembering she was not the one to lead them there. Talon, she knew, was a far better leader than she ever could have been, and she was glad she didn't have the weight of the herd on her shoulders. Yes, she'd give her life for any member of the herd, but she didn't understand how he never hesitated with his decisions or how he always seemed to make the right decisions. Nothing seemed to make sense to Whisper.

First they ignore you
Then laugh at you
Then they fight you
Then you win

Smoke had barely gotten to the log when the roar came out of no where. It was obviously a bear--he and Whisper had encountered many when they were foals with their mother. But something didn't seem right. The air felt wrong, if that would make sense to any other but a Healer. The second roar made him nervous because it made him realize that the bear was probably fighting something. And physical fighting generally meant injuries.

Smoke hurried back the way he came, away from the sound and toward the lake. The blazing sunlight bounced off his coat as he left the cool shade of the trees into the hot sun. A soft breeze caressed his face and blew back his mane while he trotted around the members of the herd, searching for Whisper. No doubt she would be one of the ones who chased off the animal--she would go whether she was supposed to or not. Whisper's main priority, he knew, was to her herd and the horses within no matter the cost.

Picking up his pace to a faster trot, Smoke followed Whisper's scent around until he finally found her with Talon and the others starting to assemble. Not wanting to overwhelm the leader with questions, he caught his sister's eye and beckoned her over with his head. His sister snorted at him and turned so he could only see her backside. Smoke's long tail flicked with annoyance. Very mature, Whisper. Very mature. Instead of going to harass Talon with questions, Smoke backed away and waited patiently for them to leave and then come back. Going with them would be bad in case another got hurt trying to protect him. No, better to wait there and treat the injuries when they got back. If a horse couldn't move because of their injuries, he assumed that someone else would come get him.
