Failed to connect to the map server.

My cat seems to be stuck between bonfire and ficho! this has happened before.*
 I can log in fine, but when loading this character, it says that's it's failed to connect to the map server.
I had FH+ uninstalled that.
Uninstalled FH and re-installed and it's still happening.

*with another character, which i deleted, who got stuck between cape of distant worlds -> Endless plains (this was before I uninstalled FH+)

I have a 1 year old Dell inspiron laptop, with Win7. if you need more specs, i'll see if I can find them out for you!

Go to the FH Home page>User Panel and set your character back home to LC and see if that helps any. I don't know what FH+ is to tell you if it's affecting your game. Good luck, though! Let me know if the LC test doesn't work.

FH+ gave people a few issues logging into maps etc. It could also be just that the map itself has crashed, or as faewyn suggested, try resetting your character and see if it works. If the problem persists, it might be an issue with the feralheart server or if not, check your internet and your firewall, make sure you have allowed FH to pass through!
