They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?

Geez. I never knew much about you but I hope your life will turn for the better. If you need any help let us know and we'll help you out as much as we can. Also remember that if you feel unsafe in your home and/or your mother happens to harm you in any way, please do call the police. Child abuse can lead to rather vile things in the future that I cannot discuss on the forums.
