Water Reflection broken

Could someone explain to me why this happened to my water? I don't have any mods to modify it and I know my water reflection is on, I get a reflection when I'm standing in the water, but it's also partially transparent like this :/

I would like a fix as I'd rather not have to go without the reflection, ascetics, y'know ^.^;

Have you tried changing your renders? You can go into options > video > rendering subsystems and click either Open GL or Direct ( depending on the one you're currently using ) and seeing if that helps. If that doesn't help then maybe a quick uninstall / reinstall can get it to work again... might be a glitch?

I've already tried switching rendering systems, and redownloading the default configs and textures for the water. I's  not that big of a deal I guess, just won't have pretty water

Have you looked into updating or reinstalling any of your graphics card/video card drivers lately?

I suggest you find out what your video card is on your PC. If you need some assistance in finding out what your video card is on your system, look here.

After finding out that information you can do a bit of research on how to get the latest drivers for that card. Feel free to ask any more questions here as well ^^

The thing is I just got the computer yesterday. Haha. It's a brand new 7th gen Dell laptop with an Nvidia graphics card.

Still applies ^^ When I got my PC I still needed to upgrade drivers. Since you have a Nvidia card, have you installed GeForce Experience yet? If not, I recommend it, especially for gaming ^^ It will search for upgraded drivers automatically and you can choose to manually install them as you please right through the program.
