Title: How to make a Portal that doesn't land you in the ocean at Cape
Post by: Raphilion on August 07, 2012, 08:09:07 pm
Sorry for the long subject, couldn't make it shorter XD

Well, I've noticed in  few maps where the maker has made a new portal, instead of using the standard portals, with the black material. But if you've tried that option, you'll realize you don't know which numbers to type into the Destination Position boxes. Well, I've had an Epiphany; If you walk through the standard portal while in test-mode on map-maker, you'll see a bunch of numbers appear at the bottom-right of the screen. Turns out those numbers are important!

X(7575) Y(595) Z(3430); 177Deg.
The angle's not important but the axis-position numbers are. They are the standard numbers all standard portals in custom maps use to get you back into Cape as you exit the custom-map through the portal.
So if you don't wanna use the standard portal, but rather use the one with the black material to get you back into Cape, use those numbers, or play around with them to take you to a different position in cape.
