Okay so this might sound a bit noob-ish, but I just recently got access to my Floof O' Meter! I've been nuzzling like crazy today. If I like what you said, if I like your name, if I like your signature, all of that. So tell me this, floofs. Why do you nuzzle? Do you like their name, what they said, or their signature. Tell me why you nuzzzzllleee~!. cB
{EDIT: I read most of your reasons, and I didn't mean for ^ to sound so petty. Lol. I nuzzle for your reasons, too. Like someone being kind, respectful, helpful, etc. Someone that goes out of their way (Quoted) to help someone. So, yeah. It did sound pretty pathetic.}

I nuzzle because for there hard working, like on the map or a preset, because the work is fantastic! And very detailed, and that makes happy. So I give them a nuzzle for there diligence.
Another reason I nuzzle another people because they help me out, when im having trouble with something, and im thankful for that c:

The reasons why I nuzzle are the same as Thrillex.I consider it as the best reward that you can offer to a person that really worked hard on something or that helped much.Or I might give everyone nuzzles because of a special event like Christmas,New Year etc.

Well, nuzzling is there to show someone your appreciation of them. And it's made a little more exciting by the fact that the nuzzles we get are anonymous.
I nuzzle people on their helpfulness, generosity, kindness, commitment and effort.
I think nuzzling people for the sake of it, or because you like them or their name, signature or whatever, kind of defeats the point of the floof-o-meter; it shows us how much floof a user has got because of their kindness and helpfulness, and other possitive things towards the community.

I nuzzle people when I had help and it worked, I nuzzle them. When someone's really nice I nuzzle them also of what art/maps/stories etc.

I nuzzle those who are helpful towards others (not to me as I avoid the Help Thread), those who are opinionated (even if they disagree with me) but are far more evidence and show passion towards the subject and their ideals, and anything related to the elements of harmony (/shot).
However, I disapprove of the Floof-O'-Meter towards the matter how you must trust others and if the person with the more floof has their opinion more weighted in importance with someone lower. Most of those helped in the Help Thread rarely get any nuzzling seeing as how the majority of the users I see only have 10 or less posts and just leave as they only want to relieve help. In a scenario, some may get nuzzled out of self pity (etc etc.) and if what I say above plays into the fact, it wouldn't be fair.

I'll just reiterate what Flob said really. The nuzzles are rewards for someone who is kind and helpful to the whole community. I don't like to just give out free nuzzles not even to friends. The reason the Floof meter is there in my opinion is to show the members who are really engaged, active, helpful, polite, and good examples for the community. Not to say that those with lower "floof" are any less better of an example because it's just a number really like likes on facebook but I'd like to believe that those users I do see with exceptionally high floof are very dependable and trustworthy not just people who have been given high karma for the heck of it now.
Therefore I only floof people who:
- work hard to help around the forum and in game (even if it means taking some time from their day to go the extra mile to help)
- are respectful to other users mods/admin alike
- patient and not rude or sarcastic with users who insist on asking many questions or overally discussed topics
- interested in the community & take part in activities
- creative and share their creativity with other users (example presets meshes etc)
- generous & not expecting anything in return (making signatures, presets, maps etc)
- welcoming & friendly to others especially new comers and not just nice to their specific group of friends or mods only

I nuzzle in appreciation, dedication and if they are helpful. Some people put tons of work into their art, maps, presets, etc.

I nuzzle those who really deserve it. Who do I think deserves nuzzles? People who help me with my Feral Heart game problems/questions/dilemas, or are helpful in any way to the community of Feral Heart.

Yeah. Basically, nuzzling is an "award" showing that you did something to help out or that someone liked something you did.
It used to be called "karma", so think of it like that.
I, unfortunatly, haven't gained the ability to nuzzle yet. But I will... Believe you me... I will. XD

I agree with the same responses as everyone else. I nuzzle those who are:
-helpful towards the community. What I mean is they like to take their own time to help those that need the information. No matter the situation, they are always there to lend a helping paw.
-patient and caring. They like to wait for someone's response and/or progress to certain things. They like to keep reminders, yes, but they don't pester the others into whether it's done or what's the next step that's needed. They say it tenderly and not aggressing like. Sincere words are always in the spotlight of their posts.
-are nice towards everyone. This is the most important one for me. They have to be nice towards not only the mods, but the newcomers and such. They don't yell out something insulting when someone asks nicely for something. This is a key that most people miss for some reason in my perspective. It might be old, but it's true: "If you're nice to someone, they will be nice back!".
All you have to do is be a good addition to the community and you instantly become someone who deserves to be recognized.

I'm loving all of the nuzzle-reasons up here~
While I love giving out nuzzles, I do have reasons behind doing so.
For example;
- Those members who are always ready to give someone a helping paw, either on the forum or in-game. (I've been known to go out of my way to look up and nuzzle someone who I saw being a big help to another member in-game, in fact).
- Patient members, and natural leaders. This can, again, be in-game as well, even when recruiting for an RP and there's somebody who's willing to step up and be a kind of leader to help guide the other new recruits.
- The ones who prioritize respect for mods, admins, as well as any other member, and actively show it during gameplay and on the forums.
- Frequently active forum users, especially the ones who always seem to have something worthwhile and kind to say in discussion/help boards.
- The peacemakers. We've all seen little growly posts in the forums, therefore I admire and nuzzle the people who say something down-to-earth, reasonable, and of course respectful to cool off any tension. This also applies to in-game situations.
- Finally, those go-getter types.
Yes, those positive outlookers who, although they may be somewhat shy at times, always have something good and upbuilding to say to another member.
All in all, the floofs I nuzzle are the ones who earn respect for themselves by word and deed in the FH community. And, of course, just the ones who make me smile!
Even if they don't have the biggest post count yet, it's the people who are upbuilding and positive who truly make the FH community and gameplay the great experience it is meant to be.

The reason you "Nuzzle" is because it shows you appreciate the member or the post that they wrote. If the post someone writes is helpful you can nuzzle them to show they have helped. Or if they made a great map, preset ect. then you could nuzzle them to show to appreciate what they have made. To "Nuzzle" is just to show that member has helped by making a helpful post or to show you appreciate there work if they have made maps and such.

I've recently received my first floof, and I have to say that it made me pretty happy to see my meter go up!
I haven't floofed anyone yet.

I nuzzle them that I personally think deserves it - usually it is those that are dedicated to this community, that does kind and thoughtful things, that work hard to help others, but also to those I think have done some great work - like art, presets, characters, add-ons etc etc.
The nuzzle is an gesture frome me, that shows my appreciation. So to me it's also important to not "abuse" the nuzzling~ ;3

You wana know why i nuzzle huh? Well, i nuzzle those who deserve it and that work hard to do good for the feral heart community. I nuzzle those that help me with anything or that make stuffz for me. (Presets, maps etc.) Maybe i will nuzzle you one day ;)

I do believe it varies a lot depending on who it is behind the screen. Some probably nuzzle for the smallest of things that I'd might consider taking too far, others might nuzzle less than they should to show appreciation. But in the end of the day it will just be a number, and how much it means to "you" is really up for everyone to decide themselves.
But I do believe in the general picture it evens out due to how differently users use the function.
Personally I use the nuzzle when I see users put greater dedication or time into something that will help the majority here around the forum or game, or possibly if they put down rhyme and reason to a certain subject, maybe even trying to understand a greater picture that helps us the staff in the length working on this community.
Then there's also been times where a nuzzle got thrown someones way for making me laugh here on the boards since some times can get very tiresome depending on what sort of matters that has been hanging in the air lately.

I really want to know Are nuzzling and floofs the same thing? If you nuzzle it shows as a floof. Why wont it just be a nuzzle-o-Meter? or Floof someone? Im very curious to know

Just because you put coins in a parking meeter doesn't make it a coin meter if that has any logic to it.
Floof o meter is the name of the karma counter itself, a nuzzle is the coin. When it was named, it was named floof o meter since it's more personal and unique.

I nuzzle people who are kind (to me, newbies, or anyone in general), helpful (directing someone with a question to a page with the answer, etc.), and people who put hard work into things, like making meshes or maps. I make sure each person really deserves their nuzzle before I give it to them. I want them to feel like they earned it, because I know that that's how I want to feel.

I just recently received the ability to 'nuzzle' other members so i've been trying to decide myself what merits a +floof. I think that what a lot of you have been saying holds very true, and I strive to give out floof to those who I think really deserve it. I am very appreciative to those who comment on my own work, along with others who are able to express themselves well on the forum and discuss interesting and helpful topics. In addition, those who have put a lot of work into making mods and maps open to the public are also very deserving.

I nuzzle people that I have roleplayed with on the forums because I am happy that they are active and making my day just a little better. I also nuzzle newbies because they don't have much and they seem nice. I would never nuzzle a mean newbie or anything though. I will nuzzle people when they 'over praise' me when I give them their art request. I nuzzled JumperWolf because she did this. :) I also nuzzle people when I they do my art reguests even if I don't really like how it came out.

I floof people who help me with my noobish questions, people who seem extremely nice and helpful towards the community, I give floof as a thank you for various things, and sturf like that :P I wouldn't just give away free floof for the heck of it =^.^= But, I have to admit that I did a lot of floofing yesterday xD

Oh and a good reason to nuzzle someone would be if you see them standing up for someone on the forum or in game, I think nuzzles make someone happy because they see that if people nuzzle them more, than people think of them as a good person. Which makes you happy.

I havn't nuzzled a lot yet, I do when somebody is helpful, or when I realllyyy agree with what they have said. I'm not entirely sure when to nuzzle and when not to yet. I don't want to overdo it but I don't want to ignore people who deserve it. I have nuzzled a few people though.

I nuzzle people who have shown great dedication to the community. And users who have helped me or done amazing stuff like great artwork or amazing presets and stuff like that.

I nuzzle to acknowledge something wether its a map, preset or simply helping someone out.

I don't do a whole lot of nuzzling but I mainly nuzzle people who show me as well as the other players of the community respect, do certain tasks to help people out, be generous, etc. Sometimes if I notice someone having a bad day, I'll give them a nuzzle to at the very least attempt to cheer them up, even a little.
