What is Felineage?
Felineage is a game in which the player takes on the role of a cat, in a massive, expansive open world in an online environment with other players. A large aspect of the game is to live your life to the fullest- from the beginning to the end, until eventually, you die, and your soul is reincarnated as a new character. The game features a full life cycle for players- from being born as newborn kittens, to growing up into strong adults, and eventually becoming elders, until eventually, they die, to be born again in a new body. You do not play one, individual character- you play a soul, that is reborn again and again, living multiple lifetimes.
Mechanics
The game is both semi-survival, as well as roleplay-based. Characters will need to eat and drink to survive, as well as manage statistics such as stamina, energy, and health. Characters will have stats- each character will start with base stats that determine their strength, speed, agility, endurance, and so on. Besides stats, there will also be abilities that must be trained through practice. The stat and ability system will be dynamic, evolving as your character performs various tasks. There is no point system, of earning points through levels and then spending those points- you must learn by doing. In order to learn to dive, you must practice swimming. Everything your character does will affect them in meaningful ways that impact their stats, their abilities, and, potentially, even their appearance.
