The Lonely Canyons
'There is such a place where the canyons are lonely. And the wild is reckless like a storm.'
Let me tell you the story of the lonely canyons in the lands of Skysnow. Skysnow was meant to be a paradise for all wolves of all breed and age. Then an evil found its way into Skysnow. Now a white wolf and the comrades she will meet along the way must put an end to this evil.
Rules:
(Both IC and OOC)
1. No godmodding.
2. No power-playing.
3. No Mary/Gary sues. Your character is not perfect. Your character is not the most beautiful thing in the world.
4. It takes time for love to grow. No auto-mates.
5. Battles and sparring? Sounds like fun, but don't fight too much.
6. Hate the character, not the roleplayer.
7. No cyberbullying. If this happens, even just once, I will kick you out of the roleplay.
8. Do not put descriptive gore, mating, or birthing details here. Tone down on the gore, take it to PM or skip it (ex. -censored for the minds of young children who inhabit this forum-), and simply say you gave birth. You can just use a little bit of details for the birthing though.
9. No OOC fights.
10. Realistic is required in this roleplay.
11. We are roleplaying wolves ONLY. No humans or mountain lions or anything. Skysnow was meant to be a paradise for wolves.

Personality: she can be snappy if snapped back or feels threaten but mostly, she's in a calm mood. If you first meet frost, she is either shy or puts up a fight unless the stranger is a pup or a family. Once she gets used to the wolf, she can be very kind, playful and protective of her wolf friend.
History: she was the last wolf pup born in the litter but when she was ready to leave, frost ran away from her pack to become a lone wolf and because she was bullied by her two older brothers.
Breed: arctic wolf
Description: white wolf with blue eyes (if you don't want frost to have blue eyes then she can have amber eyes. Blue and green eyes are very rare in wild wolves)

First Den
Rain was lying in a wolf den with grass, ferns, and logs surrounding it. She blinked her yellow eyes to get the sleep out of her eyes. If she was going to be a loner, she would have to wake up and get moving. I feel something inside of me that encourages me to move on, what is this feeling? she thought. She then shook herself and looked in the distance to see the Ice Mountains. The mountains were breathtaking though they were dangerous, as well as Avalanche Peaks. She then looked down at the snow on the ground and lapped a little bit of it up to refresh herself. It wasn't much, but the only lake she knew was over at Ice Mountains.
"Oh boy, this is going to be a tricky journey," she said to herself.

Summer Falls
The black wolf was awake now, for he had woken up when the sun was rising for some meat. He had smelled something in the distance and heard ravens cawing so he followed the sounds and scent to arrive at a buffalo carcass that was recently killed by a pack of wolves. His jaw felt sore from gnawing on some of the bones and from eating the meat. He was now at the Summer Falls waterfall, one of his favorite places in Skysnow. It was eerily quiet except for the sound of a waterfall going into a pool.

Avalanche Peaks
Bane was awakening in a den in Avalanche Peaks. He did not blink away the sleep that was in his eyes. I need some recruits to help me, that is if they're evil, Bane thought. He wanted to take over Skysnow for power. His stomach growled, but he did not do anything to help it. He then stretched and yawned. He then stepped out of the cave den and looked out into the distance. No wonder some wolf would want to take over it; it was beautiful, but that was not the only reason. Skysnow didn't have a leader. There were packs with leaders, but they did not protect Skysnow; they only protected their territory and their pack.

frost woke up in a small cave with trees, rocks and grass surrounding the den. She had left her pack last night to escape from her bully littermates for her own safely. Did I made the right choice? she thought. She got up and turned her head to the forest and padded outside of the rocky den. She lifted her head, trying to pick up any nearby scent but the thigh she could pick up is the fainting scent of a nearby wolf. Frost was about to lower her head until somthing in the distance caught her eye. the ice Moutains! Maybe if I go there, I can find a safe place to hunt and rest she thought, tail wagging.
As she ran, frost had her eyes fixed on the Moutain for a moment and then fixed her blue eyes on the snow, trying to know if she could see anything like a tree stump or a rock hidden in the snowy ground.

First Den
Rain started to walk towards the Ice Mountains, her yellow-eyed gaze fixed on the forest floor. She then inhaled the scents of water, ice, and forest. The scent had a very clean feel to it. Ah, the scents smell good, but I wonder if the Ice Mountains are any good, Rain thought with a little smile.
After walking many miles despite her aching feet and bones, she was close to the Ice Mountains, though she was not in the trails of the mountains yet. She raised her head and smelled the air again. The same scents of water, ice, and forest were still there but there was a new smell. Wolf. She then looked around to see an arctic wolf like herself. Almost immediately, the fur on her neck and back rose. "Who are you?" Rain snarled.

Seuska is, strangely enough, artistic. She tries to find the beauty in everything, and will often make intricate designs with rocks or berries, basically anything that she can use to make 'art'. She can be rather timid and will rarely fight. She's much the opposite of her sister, Rain.
History:
As a tiny pup, she was the only one who didn't mock and taunt Rain, one of her older sisters, since she herself was usually teased for being the runt. Seuska was sad when the spirited she-wolf left, but she didn't have the heart to leave her family - mostly just her mother, who was very loving. In the end, she did leave and is now trying to forge a life.

Description:
Seuska is one of the more uncommon colors of an Arctic wolf: she's pure black. Her eyes are a pale green color, though they can appear to be gray.

Her mother, who was in a small family pack, mated - against the pack law - with a loner. She was banished and had two pups without the pack to protect her. Rakche and her brother were healthy, but the male soon died. Rakche's mother chased her away recently and went back to her old pack. It was a fairly common past, so Rakche doesn't mention it.

Frost was about her age, the same breed, but the thing that interested her the most was the color of her eyes. They were blue. It was very rare for a wolf to get blue eyes. "Ice Mountains, eh? I'm going there as well for a drink once we go over the mountains," Rain responded.

She looks friendly but should I trust her? I should, I have no friends left sincei left the pack she thought. "yep, ice mountains. It does look dangerous but I'll go, I need a new home because I left my old pack, I do no want to talk about it but, do you want to go with me to the mountains? In case there are any dangers around" she barked.

Casanova then looked around at Summer Falls. It was beautiful though it was a rather small place. He then looked down at the ground and started to draw random pictures with his claws. He frowned as his claws made many lines in the mud. Stupid cats, why do they get retractable claws when we don't? Casanova thought, his yellow eyes letting anger grow in them. He then wiped his paw over the drawings and then went to go to a wolf den since he felt tired and maybe a nap would help him.

Seuska, Near Ice Mountain
Seuska lowered her dark muzzle, the white fur on her lower jaw standing out against her dark pelt. The tracks she was following smelled slightly reminiscent of herself, and she knew the wolf who had made them was familiar in some way, but she couldn't put her paw on it.
She'd been following them for a few days now in hopes of finding someone she knew. It was to her knowledge that wolves had recently surged into this place known as Skysnow, so she was interested in it. She traveled here just a pawful of days before, and that was when she picked up this trail.
She wondered who would be the creator of these paw prints. It was definitely female, she could tell that.
Rakche, Ice-Chunk Lake (name of it is.....?)
Letting loose a howl, Rakche announced her presence in the area. She hadn't scented or seen any wolves for a week now, so she assumed it would be alright to just show that she was here, even if nobody heard her.
The cream-colored wolf shook her thick winter coat and headed for the crusty edges of the lake she had found. Huge ice chunks - big enough for a wolf her size or larger to sprawl comfortably on - floated about peacefully, bobbing slowly with the gentle waves that rocked them.
She bounded through the snow, tongue hanging out happily in anticipation of a cold drink. She pounced on the edge of the water and immediately lowered her head to lap at the icy, refreshing liquid.
Zayld, Edges of Skysnow
A single, lone Timber wolf plodded wearily through a deep snow drift. His dark, peppery coat stood out like a beacon, but he didn't care. He was too tired to care. He'd been trudging through deep, heavy snow for at least five days without rest. He hadn't eaten, either.
Zayld flicked his gaze upwards, staring at the dark mountains up ahead. The terrain was starting to slowly slope upwards as he approached Skysnow, the refuge for the wolves. The ominous ridges were bare in places, but snow streaked the sides like claw marks.
The wolf moved along, his head low and muscles screaming at him to stop, to sleep. But if he stopped, he would fall into a deep slumber... And most likely never wake up.

Personality: Dispite her apearence, Kaya is a very angry creature. She doesn't like the presence of others unless she benefited from their partnership. Anything that is needed to get power.
History: Nothing really just being normal I guess, she hasn't had anything sarring happen to her. She's just like this.

Description: Corse, golden fur that is medium in leangth. Her looks are slightly exotic in nature. Her eyes somewhat like like rusted iron, the part of t he iris that was a rusted color and the rest was a deep silver. Kaya's body is riddled with scars but her fur covers most of them, but the ones on her face are clear.

A female wolf was crouched at the edge of a pool, lapping at the cool water that was fed by a roaring waterfall. The chilling water sent shivers rippling down her spine, her blond fur went with it. Kaya straightened her legs and turned away from the pool sniffing the air. Water is all her could scent right now, so she trotted away from the the pool and continued on her way.

Nika - Summer Falls
The young wolf shook her body as she stretched out her head and tail. The muscles in her body were still aching from her awkward sleeping position as Wotai tends to move around in his sleep. She glanced over to the trees to see if there was any markings for territory and thankfully, there wasn't any. 'This seems like a good place for Wotai to start a pack,' she thought to herself as she kept her head turned and walked forward. As she looked back to the path, she noticed that the forest made an opening to a beautiful view of a lake and even a waterfall but the opening high up. She sat down and smelled the air, company was just below.
Wotai - Summer Falls, a Den
He woke with alarm with ears were up as his pupils were small. Waking up from a nightmare seemed to be a wish come true for Wotai as he constantly slept and slept, just to escape from reality sometimes but even nightmares were more peaceful for him than reality itself. He took a deep breathe and groaned, another morning and there was no food left. "Nika, we need to go hunting," he spoke thinking that his younger sister was there as he kicked a hind paw at where Nika's head would be as she slept. 'Where is she?' the thought of losing his sister immediately ran through his mind as he turned his head to see no one there.
He gotten up and groaned again, he wasn't a morning person at all like his sister said. His ears perked up as he listened to see if she was close by. No luck for him. He picked up on her scent heading over into the deep forest and he padded along the trail to find her.

Seuska's ebony muzzle was crusted with a fine coating of snow. She'd just sniffed deeply at a confused bunch of tracks. It seemed that the wolf she'd been tracking met up with another; a female as well, and of the same species.
The dark wolf loped steadily along their trail of paw-prints, which was slowly becoming obscured by falling snow. She hoped fervently that it wouldn't disappear completely. She wanted to find whoever had made these tracks desperately.

"Oh." Frost would have to explain a lot of things to Rain in order for her to understand her. She then started thinking about the voice in her head. Wolf's bane? I know it's a poisonous plant, but why does it have to be destroyed? Rain thought. "Frost, do you know about wolf's bane?" she asked.

Raiden awoke to the sound of birds and bright sunshine beating down on his fur. His eyes opened slowly and his back arched up with a yawn. He was instantly on his feet and awake. He trotted through the forest hoping to find another wolf.

Seuska plowed through a thick drift of snow. The tracks she'd been following had been obliterated by the precipitation and wind, but she carried on, relying entirely on scent and luck. She believed the wolves would've followed the path that cut straight through a thick forest of pines as if the trees had been cut down just for the trail.
It would be sensible for them to go that way, so it was the way she followed. Little did she know, she was but a day behind her sister, Rain, and her companion, Frost.
"Doubt there are any other Apennines," Rakche sighed to herself. It'd been so long since she'd smelled the familiar scent of Apennine wolves that tinged their personal one. Her species seemed to have a different underlying scent that set them apart from the others, though Rakche didn't believe that hers was the only one.
The cream-and-gray she-wolf had left Iceberg Bay a few hours before, and she had made good headway along a mountain path she'd found. It was on the side of the mountain farthest from where Rain and Frost were.
After nearly freezing in the open area he had walked through, Zayld had managed to find an abandoned den. He'd spent the night in it until he was strong enough to continue, and he found the weather much more cooperative the following day. He passed a few clumps of trees which soon grew in number, forming a thick forest full of coniferous trees and the odd cold-weather deciduous dotted here and there between the thick boughs of the evergreens.
Zayld entered this forest calmly, though caution licked at his mind like a tiny ember hidden beneath a pile of brush. He'd detected another wolf nearby, though he couldn't decipher the species. All the knowledge did was quicken his pace a little.

"Well, believe me or not, I heard a voice inside my head and it told me to destroy wolf's bane. I know wolf's bane is deadly, but why do we have to destroy it? Have the elk gone mad? Or is it a prophecy?"

Did what I really think just fly by her head?
Rain stopped walking and sat down to face Frost. Her yellow eyes were fill of worry, excitement, and confusion. She shuffled her paws around on the ground and looked around nervously, as if she expected something to jump out of nowhere and attack. "Well, what is the prophecy for? An evil wolf lurking around here?"

"I don't know, I think your right on the evil wolf thing" frost barked. She turned her head left and right like if a wolf was going to jump out of nowhere and attack.

Rain felt like she could face-paw herself. Even though she knew her for a very short day, was Frost going to be mentioning everything on evil wolves? "Pfft, highly likely. There are good wolves in Skysnow."

frost stopped turning her head and looked at rain. "I know expect for my-...nevermind. Let's go before we freeze ourselfs to death" she barked twicthed her ear for rain to follow her.

"why are you so mad? we just became 'friends'" frost barked as she ran. why did rain just snarled? Now I'm starting to get a little annoyed she thought.

Rain stopped running, one, because there was suddenly a steep drop into the abyss and because Frost had stopped her. She let out a silent frustrated growl. She then walked back and stood in front of Frost, tucking her tail under her belly, something rare Rain would do. Her yellow eyes were blurry yellow with sadness and strangely, betrayal. "Sorry, Frost, but the first thing you need to know is that's I'm one of those headstrong wolves, wolves who don't have a lot of friends, a pack, but they are loyal, and I broke that rule into tiny little pieces, as small as snowflakes," Rain murmured with sadness.

frost stopped and letted out a sigh. "I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm a lone wolf who used to be in a pack and broke a rule: never leave the pack for any reason, broke that rule and you might not never come back ever" she barked, eyes filled with sadness.

Seuska lifted her head and perked her ears forward. There. Up on the path just a short run off were two shapes of the wolves she'd been tracking.
Now that she was here, she had no idea what to do, so she stood still, pondering her next move. Her dark black pelt stood out against the bright white of the snow that fell silently around her.
I'd feel stupid if I just ran up... And they'd probably think I was some crazy wolf coming to challenge them... she thought to herself, ears now lying back and her skull lowering.

Rain's head tilted in confusion. That wasn't breaking a rule! That was the law of nature, well for wolves to be exact. Wolves had to leave their birth packs so they could find a mate, start their own pack, have pups, and have the pups grow up and start their own pack. But sometimes other wolves not of the family could join the pack, as long as they weren't aggressive. Suddenly a familiar smell filled her nostrils, but it wasn't her or Frost. "Do you smell some other wolf, Frost, that is not me or you? I can."

Seuska knew they could scent her now that they were both lifting their muzzles quizzically. She built up her courage and presented herself before them, crouching low in a bow that showed she meant no harm or aggression. "I...I've been tracking you for two days now. It's like... It's like I know you." She'd decided to just say it straight out, and she mostly said it to Rain.
Her eyes looked curiously at the white wolf, narrowing as Seuska tried to register who this wolf was.

Rain whipped over to face Seuska. "Alright. You can come with us," Rain said abruptly. She looked at the new wolf. She looked a little familiar to her for some reason. "By the way, she's Frost, and I am Rain."

frost turned her head to see another wolf, ears pinned. "you come but I'm watching you for now" she growled a little. She letted out a sigh and lifted her ears, trying not to embarrassed frost or anyone. "sorry, I'm not really used to strangers" she barked softly.

Seuska's ears laid back until their undersides brushed her scruff. "I won't be a burden," she replied to Frost, who kept eying her with what appeared to be hostility, though it did soften. The black wolf looked at Rain, and that same flicker of recognition entered her eyes. "I'm Seuska." Lifting her head, she put on a more proud appearance, ears pressing forward and head slightly tilted to one side; though her tail was still in the low position of submission.

"Yeah. That's what I said, right?" Rain said to the black wolf. She then noticed that the wind was getting windier with more snow. She knew that they would probably get frostbite soon. "Come on you two; before we get frostbite. And I'm thirsty!"
