Title: ambient shading without preset or whatever it is called

Is there any modification that adds ambient shading that people use on presets into characters in game? And what file would it be to be modified?  I'm just really curious and I don't really look into using preset for more realistic shading so that's why I ask, any kind of help is helpfull
