Insane, but fun. There were a lot more people and even though the maps weren't nearly as decorated, they were amazing. Never forget Bonfire with the nutty TLK players and the Nalas throwing themselves off Pride Rock. And the mate centers. OOOOOHHHHH the mate centers.
I may have joined back in early 2015, but I do consider myself apart of the oldies. Not the original oldies, but...a, newer oldie per se. Throughout the years, there have been so many changes with this place, game-wise, and player base-wise. Everyone who has posted prior to me has done the explaining justice, as well as bringing other things to light as well, so I don't have much to say.
I will say this, though. Maps generally were bustling with life- so much life the server sometimes crashed or a map had issues that Raz had to go and fix for us. cx You could go to any map and you'd be 99% guaranteed to see at least one or more players. You would see roleplays scattered around everywhere, members recruiting for their groups, people just sittin' around talking, and various members running about. That made the game feel more alive compared to how it is now at times where you could go into Bonfire or Zama Grotto and see nobody for awhile.
I miss various things about the older versions of FeralHeart, but one of the things I miss the most is seeing so much activity in so many different areas. Roleplays, chatting, and various miscellaneous things Nynx has already mentioned. Thankfully, you can still see players around chatting with one another and roleplays still about, but it's definitely not as much as before.
I joined in 2011 and to say the least FeralHeart was at it's peak then.
The maps were full. To the point of not being able to get into them sometimes. The game would simply provide you with an error message and your game would close. It was definitely frustrating sometimes! The 'mate centers' and the 'pup centers' were popular and honestly everywhere. Even in Ficho Tunnels occasionally.
The general atmosphere of the community was lively and fun. The community was 'chatty' and things were generally more simple. Groups were doing very well and there was never a shortage of members. For any group.
Overall, this is what I can remember from the old FeralHeart. I was also very young in the beginning so the memories are kind of faint! But I do remember my friends and the groups I was in, before pretty well. This is a nice discussion and it truly makes me happy to see other people reflect on the past. <3
