UV lines for this hat?
« on: August 11, 2018, 07:59:52 am »
Trying to make a custom cowboy hat from the 'Applejack hat Low' mesh. My custom had has a band around the middle bit with my characters symbol on it, but I cannot figure out where to place the bang at where it shows up on the hat. I've tried drawing lines on the texture file with no results :c is there UV lines for this hat?

I made one for ya~ You can prolly resize it to 512 x 512 (not entirely sure what the original is at the moment)

that's because the UV map isn't assigned to the existing mesh, so the game couldn't read it. in order for that UV map to work a new mesh has to be exported.

Oops~ I suppose I have no idea what I'm doing either. Lol, my bad, Vida!

It appears it only comes in a solid color. I am doing some messin' around with the texture to see if I can help identify where everything goes!~

This is the closest I got to the very front. If you mess around with the texture well enough, you'll be able to perfect it!

The texture is called AJHat.

Hey, thank you Wolvie but I already tried that(I think I might've mentioned in one of the previous comments). It didn't work, I spent a hour or so drawing lines all over the texture but it doesn't seem to work. I need a band around the middle of the hat, not the front, it needs to go all the way around.
Another user mentioned to get the Uv to match the textures I'd have to make a new export of the mesh file. I don't know how to do that though, does anyone know if there's a tutorial on how to do that?:(
This though wolvie

Try re-texturing the hat with an image that has lots of numbers, look for the numbers on the texture, and then you can draw over any numbers that appear on the hat.

My presets.

Good things take time, so I'll take an eternity and create something so good that the human brain can't handle the sheer goodness of it.

I've tried every single way and pattern, numbers lines and or stripes with the same result. I think trying to get the colors to show up without a UV line is impossible or a waste of time.
I think my best bet is to try what WolfQueen said, but I don't know how to export a new mesh file. Is there a tutorial for that?
