Title: Bad Tokens; Re-imaged Mac
Post by: papayatoot on January 27, 2015, 02:03:27 am
So, I have a mac that was given to me by my school and I also use it to play FeralHeart. It worked pretty much flawlessly for the whole first semester, until I had to take my Mac to get re-imaged. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I do know that ever since that, FeralHeart won't work. It's slow to start up and no matter what char I try to load, it gives me bad tokens. Even in lonely cave. I've looked at the help page for bad tokens and done all that, but it still hasn't been fixed! I'm really sad and I want to get back to my groups again.. :'( someone please help!

I believe mac download is broken. It used to work on OS X 10.6, but I've never tested it on newer versions. And it is confirmed to have mac-specific bugs: some standard maps  won't show up. Unfortunately, I don't have any Apple hardware now, so I can't fix it myself :(

ohhhhhh okay, so it's not the re-image or anything, the download is just broken? not my fault? that's a relief XD

I don't think it's the download considering Mac users have been downloading it just fine. You may have to re-download the game after deleting the FH folder. The re-imaging might have ruined some files or messed with em' causing such an issue.

Whisper, I was afraid that was the problem, but I have re-downloaded twice and it still doesn't work. ;-;

Have you tried changing your rendering system?
How to Change Your Rendering System
Windows 7 and 8

Method number 1
First, go into C:\Feralheart. If you look at Feralheart's main folder, you will see a file called "ogre." This file is a .cfg file, which means people can read an edit it with simple text.
Click it, and open it with "NOTEPAD" when it asks.

Look at the first two lines in the ogre.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system. You can basically ignore everything else listed there!

On my image, my first two lines are:

Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]

To change my rendering system, I'll need to change it to:

Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]

And vise versa! Simple as that. ^^

Method number 2
Turn on Feralheart.
On the main screen, you will see this:

Click options, and go to video. Click 'Rendering System.'

Then just simply switch your rendering system.

Note that sometimes method two doesn't always work - That's why I listed the ogre.cfg file tutorial first. ^^ Good luck! Hope this helped those who don't know how to change their rendering system. Happy gaming!
