Songs cracking?
« on: April 20, 2019, 10:05:13 pm »
I tried my hand at a music mod, and I want to make it public. However, an odd "crack" often plays at the end of each song. This happened with a roar mod I made; adding silence to the end helped. However, with the music, there are also cracks in the beginning and middle. Also, sometimes, when I get into the game, or after a song finishes, the music just won't play... How can I fix this?
Did you know I make games? :D

The cracking in the songs is actually quite common, especially the ones in the end. The ones in the middle I'm not quite sure about. I did hear somewhere that .MP3 files don't crack as bad as .WAV files, but don't hold me to that.

Sometimes if you put the music files in the regular sounds folder it reduces the crack sound.  Music.cfg still finds the files.
The Japanese concept of wabisabi:
The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?
"Because it was my favourite & I like it"
