I've been trying to get a new profile pic, but every time I upload one, a message pops up that says, "Upload unsuccessful. Either your picture was too big or it took too long to upload. Contact your server's admins for more information.", or something like that. And I'm pretty sure that my pics aren't too big, because they're all 200x200. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

I think it needs to be at least 100X100 for it to work. Try resizing them and see if it works.

As stated above, I do believe the set avatar height and width is 100 x 100, and although that seems small it's a decent size and easily viewable by others around this forum. If it's not the case of resizing it to get it working however; make sure you're not using the wrong link when you paste it into the profile field.

A great website to resize images are picresize (http://www.picresize.com/) or shrinkpictures (http://shrinkpictures.com/)

I resized the pic to 100x100, however the same message popped up. I've tried 125x125 and 150x150 too, but they don't seem to work either. And I also double-checked the link to make sure it was correct.

Ya can try using the "Upload image by url" by uploading the image you desire to tinypic.com and copying one of the links it gives you (the third one, I believe).

What image are you trying to use? Can you show us? Perhaps I could resize it for you and toss it back and it might help. I'd love to give it a shot.

It didn't work this time either, but thank you for resizing it. Maybe it just won't work because the staff are still updating FH...? I thought maybe when they complete the update, it will allow me to upload a pic to be my avatar. Anyway, thanks again. +Nuzzle to everyone who helped out

I sometimes have this problem
What I usually do to fix it is try both ways (upload from computer or dumping in the url), and usually one works. Try saving the image to your computer and then upload it straight from there (meaning no using tinypic etc)

When I use url, it says "Profile changed successfully", however the avatar box is blank and has a white x in the top left corner. I dunno, it may just be something wrong with my computer.

Perhaps it's just not loading? Try browsing through the forums for a couple minutes and see if it eventually pops up correctly

Try Photobucket. It is an image-hosting site similar to Tinypic. If you do choose to try it, upload your picture on the site. Click the Edit button and resize it so it is smaller, or avatar size. Then once it is saved copy the "Direct" link, and paste it in where you upload an image by URL on FeralHeart. If there are two "http://"s, delete one. See if this solution works. It always did for me ;)

Ah, I finally found a site that actually works! (Postimage) Thanks for the help, guys. And also, I tried uploading an image from my computer again.... and it somehow worked

Here hun, just copy and paste this into the avatar box in y'er settings. This link should get the profile pic to work (I even checked just to be sure ;)).
