Title: Embarrassing Fears?
Post by: xSpell-Casterx on July 06, 2014, 04:06:27 pm
I'm sure alot of us have at least one.
Mine is.. Escalators.
Yeah. Escalators.
I've even made a video about my fear of escalators.
I've had this fear 5ever and it's.. Quite terrible.
I can't even go to the mall without being scared to go on an escalator.
Does anyone else have an embarrassing fear? x

Awh, escalators? Mind if I ask what's caused or is causin' ye' to fear escalators, Ms? If there is a cause.

An embarrassin' fear I have, or one that I personally consider embarrassin', would be my fear of needles. I've always been scared of 'em, even when I was young. Whenever I have to get a shot of any kind, I have to look away 'n distract my mind somehow (normally with music or speakin' to someone) else me allowin' that needle in my flesh is a no-go. Also whenever I see a needle, I reflexively shy away from it. Hence why I have to look away whenever I get a shot so I won't be able to see it.

This is gonna sound odd but one of my biggest fears are... extractor fans. The kind you find in toilets?

I don't even know what set it off in the first place but since I was 3 I've always hated the way they look and the way they sound. Every time I go into a toilet I've never been in before, I'll always stop and look for a fan and if I see one I either freeze or run out of it. I gotta go into that same bathroom like 5 times for me to be comfortable.

Another fear is toilet related and it contributes to the whole fan thing. I am terrified that I'll be in a bathroom which has a fan in it and someone outside will turn the light off, I dunno why but I find the thought terrifying.

I have a fear of the sound of finger nail clipping.

Whenever someone uses those things around me the sound makes me freak out. I don't know why.

Elevators.
...
Well,
I don't have a problem going in them but it's the fear of getting trapped inside one.
I have the worst claustrophobia issues sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't even effect me.
Weird.

Mine has to be driving on large bridges over water.
I dunno it's kind of an irrational fear that something will go horribly wrong and my car will rnd up plummeting off the side into the water and we'll all DIE.
So whenever I'm in a car with someone and we go over a bridge I kind of tense up and get real quiet all of a sudden until we're off. X3

Idk, if this is an emberrassing fear, but eh.
Anyways, my emberrassing fear (sord of) is, when I go to the beach or somewhere in a pool, or so,whenever I touch water, I feel all scardey. My heart starts pummping faster and it's hard to even breath for me, until I get on it. Also, when I reach something like, near my chest or higher then my chest, I'm just kind of scared of slipping down and getting scared.
Whenever someone asks me a question, I'm just answering with my voice, all sheyki and all. O_O
Lol, for me it's emberrassing, but Idk for you guys. :P

Elevators = Possible Tower of Terror outcome.

But when I was little, I used to be afraid of fans. Yes, fans. Ceiling fans, small house fans, almost any fan! I absolutely used to be terrified when someone turned them on high power. I was suspicious that a ceiling fan would fall on me and crush me, or that the fan blade would pop off and chop me to pieces. But now, I know that industrial fans are the only dangerous ones.

Mine would be of getting attacked in Nyc but that sort of goes with the turf xD. You know big cities and crime... I had a robbery experience at gun point once so it was enough to shake me up. When I come up the stairs into my building I'm very concerned about someone sneaking in or waiting to do wrong. Same goes with break ins etc... I also don't like being the last person on a train with a strange individual. The city can be a scary place to live in sometimes when it comes to crime and people up to no good. You never know what to expect these days.

This may sound ridiculous but bear with me. (I've always loved that expression.)

I fear the thought of coming home one day and finding someone already there. Waiting for me. With a kitchen knife.
(Don't ask me why a kitchen knife, maybe the fella forgot his and had to borrow one of mine.)

It's ridiculous for me because I live in an apartment on the second floor and I always lock the door and close the windows when I go out.

I have a fear of elevators, because when I was younger, I was in a store and I kept dropping my toy down the stairs on purpose. So I really liked riding on elevators, so I went down that way. But after like 11 times...

It got stuck. Yeah.

And one of the staff had to get me out. I was scarred for life. And now everytime I go on an elevator, I get really really scared and some bad things happen.

Oh, I also have a fear of plastic purple cups.
God.
Those things haunt me.
I only drink out of glass cups now.

...Blood.

Just blood. I hate seeing that stuff. Want something amusing to see about this? No? Shut up and look.

When not staring at blood...
._. It stings. Ow. EH. //derp\\

When staring...
AAAGDGKaFHSJGHAAJG PUT IT BACK IN ME IT HURTS AAAAAAA-

Seriously. Once, I got a scrape on my knee, and when I looked away I was fine, but if I looked at it, I cried. Like a little girl(well, I am a girl. But still.)

A more recent example is the time I got my fingers slammed in the door into the garage, once per day for two days in a row. First time, it bled a little. Second time, it apparently squirted. One finger was bruised, the other got cut and needed band-aids for a while. Now it's fine, except for a few missing layers of skin.
Mom covered it that second slam so I wouldn't scream and panic as she took care of it... .~.

Even more recently, just the last time I tried brushing my teeth, guess what? Blood. Again.
In my mouth. I whimpered and was really scared as my mom dabbed it with toilet paper to get rid of it. Asdafghjdas.

I also have a fear of waterslides but it's not as bad. We went to a water park and on ALL the kiddie waterslides I made my friend go down first XD then i'd go down. We went on the larger ones together and i outright refused to go down any with large drops I'm a big baby XD

Well... When I was younger, I used to have a very odd fear. I find it ridiculous now, though, because it really is funny.
Whenever I heard noises coming from the outdoors, I would start crying and repeat 'The ducklings are talking.' Yes. Ducklings. That thought terrified me. And I wouldn't stop until my mother came and explain to me that it's only the train passing through. My mother was even forced to draw a cute duckling on the wall next to my bed in order to show me there's nothing scary in a duckling.
Lol. Now that I've grown up, whenever I remember that previous fear of mine, I can't stop laughing.

I'm considered "fearless" in real life, but I will freak out so bad on an esclator, around needles, or just encased in a small space. That's pretty much my only irrational fears.
The escalator incident is because when I was three, my shoe lace got stuck in an airport's escalator - we got the shoe lace out before any officials, or anyone was actually called. I tripped and fell over, I guess it was embarrassment that caused my fear. And, it's only with going down on escalator that freaks me out, I have to take stairs or an elevator to go down.
Needles isn't the most irrational fear, I suppose, a lot of people are scared of them. I guess it's because I just hate sharp objects anyway - I'm fine with me or someone holding a knife, but anything other than that, I'm weary around. Due to this fear, people have asked me if I fear doctors or dentists, etc., but I actually love going to both! Strange, huh? -Small laugh-
And the closed space one, claustrophobia, is because I was accidentally locked in a plastic bin (I was about four, we didn't know better and we were just messing around). Now, it was a pet box, one we put out lizards in with the lid on, so it had holes and stuff, but I was terrified.

I have this strange fear of mould....
I hate explaining it, and I have no idea what triggered it. I just have this fear it will grow on me and shut down my body or something. I just... ERGHGHGHGHG.
I cry everytime I see mould or I have a panic attack (stupid anxiety problems).
I still remember very well, in the midst of my fear of mould, last Christmas, my Dad came in the room and said 'Hey, I have a surprise for you!' and opened a tub of mouldy yogurt right in front of eyes. I SCREAMED and slammed door and sat in my room crying for 2 hours.
IT WAS MOUNTAINS OF SPIKEY, GREEN, BLACK, FLUFF AND IT MAKES ME ITCHY THINKING ABOUT IT.

I have always been scared of the dark... Well actually that is a misconception. I am actually afraid of what's in the dark like many other people.

I am also afraid of spiders, earwigs and any floating seaweed (rubbish) in the sea. Which also reminds me that I hate the sea. Whenever we go to the beach I stay away from the water. There is something gloomy about the water... Somewhat murky. And very cold, full of sea creatures... The old tales get to me too!

But that is not all, my main fear lies in blood tests and needles. If I ever happen to be ill, I'd rather suffer for days on end rather than go to a doctor in case I have to have the dreadful old blood test. I pretend to be all fine when inside I feel like I am going to faint. Despite my age, I scream, get all paranoid and even try to run whenever I have to have a blood test. This includes injections etc, my main reaction to having one is, run and don't look back! escape.

Further more I am scared of hospitals. This is tied to my past so no questions answered, but I hate it and I never want to be there.... (I also dread to feel pain. Mainly physical, like broken bones etc).

I think my weirdest fear is falling from high places, which might not seem so bad, if it weren't for the fact that I love heights. I won't go on a roller coaster because I'm afraid they'll break while I'm on it. A few years ago I went to Disney in Orlando and got on the Thunder Mountain ride and cried the whole time.

My weirdest fear is bees and wasps. So one day when I was really little. (I remember this cause it scared me a lot) A wasp lands on my wrist will I'm carrying a snowcone, and it's almost the size of my palm. I freeze and I am scared to death, but I know if I move it'll sting me  and it is very close to my face. My heart is beating super fast and my family members are staring at me, hesitating to do anything. So that's why I'm afraid. I scream whenever I see one.

My other weirdest fear is a small group of ants. Like If I see like five spread out ants I'll get scared, but when I'm near a pile of ants I am super calm and feel comfortable. It's very strange.

I recently went to the mall with my boyfriend and I would NOT go onto the escalator without having a baby panic attack. Yeah I wouldn't call not wanting to be killed an embarassing fear. Pretty legit! :p

I have a fear of... Hoovers.
No, seriously. When I was a kid I accidentally turned on one I was sleeping on ( I was a strange 2 year old.) and the noise of it scared the absolute hell out of me. To this day, I get all jittery and sweaty when I hoover, just because of the noise.

Public restrooms. No. Just no. They're often filthy and that, coupled with the fact that anyone could walk in at any moment, creeps me out a lot. I think it's the subconscious thought that someone is listening to me in there... it has gotten to the point where I literally do not go anywhere near them during a school day and just hold it from 8:00 to 2:45. The filth is pretty bad on its own though.

It's just that I absolutely hate them. Dirty, other people and like in the name 'public.' It's also because of an experience when I was younger, where when I went inside one, the door messed up and I couldn't get out. Lil' me was extremely afraid then until I finally got the door open lmao.

My most embarrassing fear is... Telephonophobia. I don't have a fear of telephones themselves, but making phone calls is something I can never bring myself to do. Whenever the phone rings, I just ignore it, no matter who is calling. This fear is so extreme even to the point of me having a meltdown if you try to make me call on a phone. It's... really... really... sad. It's really ironic too, since my furry idol is Telephone. (http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3772/9361590713_702a29689b_b.jpg)

My other fears include an extreme fear of needles. I also breakdown in tears when that happens, and they have to have a specialist to do it. I often times blackout, or come close. I even threw up because my mom said it would make it better to look at the needle. BOY WAS SHE WRONG. I also have a fear of... wait for it... plants. I hate the way plants feel. Certain ones are fine. But like rubbery ones, and ones I don't normally touch... NOPE! Seaweed is one I especially don't like. I feel so ashamed, me living in the middle of the woods. I also have a fear of rollercoasters, and ventriloquist dummies.

I have a pretty large fear of lakes and rivers. This is mostly because I have an irrational fear of finding dead bodies while in the water, but I'm fine swimming near the shore as long as I can see the bottom of the water. But if I have to swim out in the middle of the lake or if I'm forced to go tubing I just can't. I don't want my leg touching a dead corpse or to swim underwater and see a skull or anything. Kinda doubt that would ever happen but it prevents me from doing a lot of things in the water.

I'm kinda like you, minus the dead body part. I also have fear of deep water, but mine is because I think I will drown. I was never great at swimming. It's also why I don't like boats or floating docks.

Dead corpse? Nah, there wouldn't be any... They would probably be taken away by the river, unless the body got stuck on sticks, or underwater foliage. But firstly, why would there be a body? o.o

I would also like to say that I have a fear of tornados... I know every normal person would be scared of them, but when summer comes and when it's humid outside, I run to my window and look out for strange clouds. It's all because once there was a very strong rain in our city.  Our trees that were about three meters high were touching the ground. After this, I saw a cloud. A tornado was slowly appearing, and my knees literally started to shake, my heart jumped in my throat, I started to shake like I was electrocuted.

LUCKILY, the wind took the tornado away from our house. Phew!

There are a ton of lakes and rivers near where I live, and there are reports of people drowning in them all the time, as well as bodies being found weeks later. It's pretty much a main cause of death here, and with the lakes being so dark and not being able to see the bottom a foot or two in, I just kinda developed that fear.

But my stranger and most powerful fear is dancing >.< I freeze and feel sick if I am supposed to dance around people. Or anything someone might be asked to do in a drama class. But I can sing and do presentations in front of people without problems.

Embarassing fears? I have a couple. Probably the most embarrassing fear of mine is the car alarm going off while I'm in the car. It happened today, and no joke this is what happened. I'm still embarrassed.
So I was sitting in the car, waiting for my mom to finish shopping. It started to get really hot in the car, so I decided to hop out of the car and go into the store to cool down. I opened the door, and the car alarm went off. I freaked out, ran to the doors (the store was closed so the doors were locked) and I began kicking the door and screaming. When my mom finally ran out of the store and turned the car alarm off, by that point I was nearly crying, I was shaking, and I was horrified for no reason. My mom thankfully got me candy after that and we sang along to really stupid songs to calm me down.

A embarrssing fear for me would have to be : Vomiting. I have a huge fear of it, and its seriously not fun at all freaking out all the time when i feel sick. I usually start hypervenallting when i do, and its just a really scary fear but at the same time its embarrssing. I've told a couple friends, and they fun of it but oh whale. I also have a strange fear of going places alone without someone, I always feel like something will happen to me lol.

I fear... people? xc Omg.

I HATE sitting with people, I don't like it. Even worse, I won't even step into a mall. If I do, I would either faint, fall on the ground and scream or hit someone.

2. Being alone. Just the thought of being the only person in the world makes me shiver.
3. Hurting an animal. I love animals and I dun wanna hurt them.

ants

yes, ants

Reminds me.

I get scared of one tiny ant, even sugar ants.

But then I see a super big pile of ants, I'll go so close to it without being scared.

I have this fear, that when a cellphone vibrates near me I'll go and hide. I won't answer the call at all.

  Well, you see... I uh...
have a fear
of
feet

Yes, feet. I don't know what it is. I literally HATE feet. I'm fine with my own, but if someone puts their feet near their face, I freak out and close my eyes and scream. It's even worse when they touch my face with their feet.
-shudder-
