Title: Failed to connect to map server
Post by: Garfield. on April 19, 2020, 04:13:00 pm: So, I wanted to RP with a friend today and I noticed that everytime I get into another map like Bonfire Islands it will lose connection for no reason, my connection is good and this doesn't happen when i'm in TG

Halp me please or I won't be able to join any RP group ;-;

Edit: Forgot to tell, this happens when i'm already IN the map, it goes good for like 10 or 15 seconds and then it appears the Lost connection from map server. When I click retry it will just stand there and nothing happens and when I click cancel, I get out of the game, click log in and it will get stuck in the connecting to front server screen.

Post by: arilioness on April 19, 2020, 08:22:52 pm: Maybe there is something wrong with the maps or connecting to maps itself, you should try again later, maybe that helps, you could also try resetting your characters homes and sending them home, but i dont know for sure if it will solve anything, let me know how it goes!

When you crash, a new text file is created in the main FeralHeart folder - It should be titled FHLog. If you read that it can generally give you some information as to why it has failed. Another issue could be the particles folder. Often times "duplicates" are created with a _0 or _1 ending - just delete those if you happen to find them!

Didn't work :c also this has been happening for a long time more like ever. My connection doesn't has problems so I don't think it is neither.

I got no duplicate particles but I checked the text file and it says this.

I think i have seen such error before with someone else, so you are probably not the only one, it probably is an error with the game itself and not your connection at all

I believe that those maps are crashing due to the particles as generally you'll see those .cfg files fail when something else is wrong. If you see you are missing a particle or two, I'd recommend downloading a set of backup files from FH (easy to find if you find you need to do that).

I think there is something with the water maps. Eastern Pass, didn't kick me this time but I will test it later being there more time.

Post by: SpicyDirt on April 21, 2020, 07:19:57 pm: I'd say try a fresh install of the game. If you do this, make a backup of the presets folders (both my, public, and private), the markings.cfg/markings folder, and the items.cfg/items folder - only if you have the custom markings/items installed.

Post by: arilioness on April 22, 2020, 08:47:18 am: Looking at these files i can definetly see it has to do with the water, its talking about a few water effects such as waterfalls, but also the water of alot of the maps in the game, i have an idea, it might sound weird but you could try it out, what if you delete all the files that have to do with water and try again? (i would backup the water files in case it doesnt work), im just curious, I would ask a staff though if you're allowed to try this out

After losing connection to Map Server: If you refresh the log-in page, does it also log you out? That would likely mean that the log-in page was not the active internet tab while you were playing the game.

Definetly not my connection, if that was the case, I would get the lost connection message for the grounds aswell

No matter how many times I enter another map again, it will say ''Lost connection to map server. Retry?''.
