Whispers Preset Encyclopedia!


I have decided to change this little tidbit into a tutorial grouping of all my preset tutorials. If you need help, or just have a question, please comment below.

The links below are for programs you can use for preset making, you don't have to download them, it's optional.

Tutorial Part A: Friends Presets

1.) Download the .fhp file and unpack the files.

2.)

Go to your Feral Heart folder, which should be in your C drive! (C:\\FeralHeart)

3.)

Go to your 'presets' folder, not my_presets. (Also in your FH Folder!)

4.) Copy your .fhp file and paste it here, then re-run the game, and you should be able to see your friends preset!

Tutorial Part B: Pre-Made/Your Own Presets

1.) Navigate to Feral Heart folder and find my_presets(not presets like we did before.)


2.) Find your desired folder and open it.


3.) Navigate inside, once your done making the textures, export them there/once you finished your download, past them here(overwrite if needed.)


4.) Edit your material file if needed. Ex: preset_8.material

(it looks something like this!)


5.) Open the game and navigate to tools, find preset maker among them.


6.) Find your desired preset among the preset list, select it and export! Your finished!

Tutorial Part C: Making A Preset + Default UV's

1.) Open gimp or photoshop(in this tutorial i'm using Ps, gimp is a free art program, downloadable from here. and open your UV file. Canine or Feline UV's, depending on what model you wish to apply your preset to.

2.) Make a new layer under your UV, and create your coloration or preset texture. (Do not steal this tutorial texture >.<)


3.) Remove or hide your UV layer(I keep it in case i'd like to edit in the future!) and open up a fur texture.

(This is the default FH fur texture, more can be found here.

4.) Go to your drop-down (should be above your layers!) and find multiply and click it.


5.) Save your preset! (instead of the # add your preset number.)

It can be either a .png or .jpg extension, as long as you edit your material file, remember it looks like this;

Tutorial Part D: Manes

1.) Open your fmaneMask.png in GIMP or Ps, either one is fine, but make sure it looks like this:


2.) Open fmaneMask2.png and do the following; Select All, Copy, Paste. Make a new layer before doing so.



3.) Lock the Alpha Channel and color both masks however you want. Make sure you deselected the pasted layer.


4.) Open your fmaneShade.png and do the same select and copy. Create a new layer then paste it on and hit multiply.


5.) Export your mane to what ever my_presets folder you are working with and tadaa! You have a mane! Enjoy~

Tutorial Part E: Eyes

1.) Open your eyes UV depending on what kind of preset your making, canine/feline, you will want the UV dedicated to that model.


2.) Open any presets eye texture for reference, or you can use a eye mask. I'm using the UV and a pre-made texture for reference. Drag and drop or for gimp users, select all, copy, paste after making a new layer. Make sure the UV layer is on top and make a layer in between them for coloring.


3.) Color the eye to your liking and the box beside it is the eye lid. Make that what ever color you want. I'm using a already made eye that I did for Halloween, do not steal it. Now, once your eye is made, hit File and Save As, or for GIMP Export To.


4.) Save the file as preset_#eye.png or .jpg and your done! Take a look in-game to see how it looks. Have fun with your eyes!
