Title: Game suggestions...
Post by: ChunkyMonkey94 on April 20, 2011, 03:50:11 pm
I think you should improve the chating in the FH game by making a text bubble apear, every time someone types something in the chat box thing, over the head of the person typing
One other thing I think you guys should do is to add to the FH game its self; people start to get bored after a while doing nothing but walking around the map and talking to people they don't know. There is still lots of empty space in the FH maps which can be use to add new things. Maybe making some flash mini games to integrate into the FH game would be a good idea.

The team is already working on updates. No need to suggest them.

I agree, IT had a speech bubble too. So I'd very much like if we had them.

I miss the speech bubbles, but on occasions when they fly everywhere, it lagged like Hell. I would love this, but an option to disable the bubbles as well.
And for the empty space, I'm sure Kov said something about hunting be added soon.

A big huge HELL NO to speech bubbles from me. They lagged things up for me, like, unbelievably. |8 I was extremely happy when I found they were gone. They did no good other then give small entertainment, for, what, words? Look at the chatbox, uncheck what chats you're not paying attention to. xP

Can't disagree with ya Kah. :B But hey, for those who do like them, just an option to turn them on/off would work. ;P

Speech bubbles. Sounds nice! But I fear it would lag on me. So I would have to say at least an option to disable/able it.

I think that they should try to fix their text bubble problem so it doesn't slow down the game.
Maybe they should get rid of the text bubbles and just make the text that the person typed appear above their head without the bid white text bubble. They can then limit the amount of text so that when the number count for letters is exceeded they can make the rest of the message scroll above their head without exceeding the limited space allowed for the text.

Example - [Hey how have] {you been doing today and did} [you ever finish this?]
{} = visible text  [] = yet to be visible
I think this whould work more smoothly without taking too much space.

I like walking around and talking to people yeah an actuall game part would be nice but speech bubbles would be very hard especially on bonfire island there are to many people and you wouldn't be able to read anything

Adding the speech bubbles would be extremely nice. And for those who think it will bring more lag just an on, off option. I hope for this to come back.

Agreed. When I'm sitting in Bonefire with my friends, it is hard to tell who says who when I'm flooded with other peoples' chatter. As for the minigames, not so sure. Gem said something about the hunting probably being added soon, so I see no real reason why there should be minigames inside the actual game. c:

Omg yes to the speech bubbles! I miss them so much, also lip sync  :'( It made it feel like you were actually talking to the person instead of just a chat box with a ton of lag X3 If you know what I mean. ::)  Bubbles, along with lip sync gave it a more real feel and sure hope they're both added back.  Although I agree with an on/off option, that way everyone can be happy.

As far as mini games, I think it would be neat, but if hunting will be added, I don't mind if they're not adding for a while. XD
I sure hope you're right Gem, we're due for an update. lol ::)

Both lipsync and bubbles on by default if anyone would ask me.

However I'd want a new cfg file somewhere for keeping the changes permanent just as the graphic settings are saved now, that way no one would have to set this to their preferences over and over again. If I'm not completely wrong I believe the "Show arrival" never saves itself?

Even though the I tried IT on several systems the bubbles never were a bigger problem for me, the lag were the actual characters in a map, but it can look rather messy from a somewhat distant if there was a group of people sitting in one place talking.

Does anyone know if chat bubbles were positioned infront of eachother or smeared into on big pile of text in IT? It would deffently need to be able to position eachother in rows or layers(Character speaking closest to you gets the visable text bubble) if that makes sense. *Thinking about crowded nights in bonfire*

And like IT it would be nice if only the local chat were the one with bubbles, since it's meant to be like talking normally, and general is for a whole map, not the area you're in. Having chat bubbles for group chats would feel like too much aswell.

I remember it them smushed to together in a text mess. Thats the only thing I had problems with.
