Other Games / Feralia Aquius v2 - Minecraft Server (Offline)
« on: February 07, 2012, 06:12:48 am »
Hello and welcome to

Feralia Aquius is a server created by myself, Ghosting, for the FeralHeart community to come together and play Minecraft. This is our second map and I hope to keep the server going on as long as people will play in it. If you are a part of the FeralHeart community, feel free to pop on and say Hi. If you would like to join the server, please read the rules at spawn before walking to town.

As for our server type, we aren't very strict about playing legit or vanilla. For the most part Feralia Aquius is a creative building server, however most members wont shy away from a cave exploration and we've been known to go on a party adventure or two. Our server is about having fun, whether that be through creative, survival, roleplaying or exploration, we encourage you to do whatever it is you like to do most.

If you need help with something in game, feel free to ask these people for help. If you have a server related problem or question, feel free to ask on here. If you have a problem with another user or a mod, please PM Ghosting(me) about it here on the forums.

This is a small sampling of the rules. For the full version, please view them in game at spawn meadow.

1: Very obvious rule here, NO GRIEFING. Do not destroy another users build in any way. Griefers will be IP-banned on sight.
2: Accidents happen, so if you accidentally break someones wall or fence, or what have you, please FIX the damage you caused.
3: Do not steal from other users chests.
4: Put signs on everything you own and want to keep. This is a VERY important rule, please follow it closely!
5: Please give people space. Do not build something in someone else's  front yard.
6: Ask someone if they want help before helping them build something.
7: If someone causes small damage to your build, please be mature and don't make a big deal out of it.

The server IP is: 24.17.163.116
There currently IS a whitelist, feel free to ask to be added. :>

The sever version is: Vanilla 1.6

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Wing Critique/review

Anyone else with me here? I'm glad wings were added, but they are literally terrible looking, especially when compared to the animal models themselves.

Note: not trying to bash whoever made them. Just pointing out how badly they don't fit in and need to be fixed.

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / Multipul images in signatures
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:08:54 am »
I have noticed while staying on the forum that we are only allowed to have one image in our signature. I would like to politely discuss the possibility to remove this creative hindrance from our lovely forum.

Now dont get me wrong, a size limit on signatures I wholeheartedly support, however I do not see why we should be restricted on the amount of images we can stuff into our 750 x 300 limit. I am sure I know one reason why this is in place. So as to avoid making loading times for people with poor internet slower. However, I would like to point out that 3 100 x 100 images would load no slower than one large 750 x 300 image.

With that in mind, I am positive I am not the only forum goer who has been torn between two images to put in their siggy, especially if you are a fan of those spiffy little image bars.

How does everyone else feel about this? :33

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Idea to help ease lag while traveling
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:53:09 pm »
As many know, lag is an unfortunate part of Feral-Heart for people with not-so-great computers. The lag is also the worst, as I have heard, in Bonfire. Where many people simply sit all day. For someone with a slow computer, bonfire can be a nightmare to walk through. This is also true for Ficho, and maybe even Fluorite. So when someone with a slow computer is trying to get to the cape, or Fluorite from Bonfire, it can be a huge hassle.

So I propose a "Turn off everyone's character" button. This is a button that would do as it says: turn off everyone's avatar on the map. Also, beside the button, maybe a population count for the map. So someone would know if the amount of people on the map would cause them horrible lag.

Obviously most people would not use this if they want to hang out on a map, but it could be a great thing for people who are traveling and don't want to be held back, or have the game crash, because of lag.
Sorry if this has been said, I didnt see it posted anywhere though. What do you all thing about it? :)

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Ban notification system
« on: April 12, 2011, 05:56:42 am »
Currently in FH, there seems to be a problem with banning. I'm not complaining about the mods or the rules, oh no, I am talking about the notification of bannings, or I should say, lack of notification.
I already posted about all this in another thread, but it kind of died, so I wanted to make a formal idea thread about this topic.

COPYPASTA TIEM:
"
As for warnings and notification, I believe it is totally unfair for someone to get banned and not be told why. Its just not fair in any case. When someone is arrested, the police HAVE to tell them what they are being arrested for. Its just a human right to know what you did wrong. Obviously banning isn't as serious as being arrested, but its still the same concept. Not everyone is telepathic, people honestly might not know what they did wrong, and banning them for something they don't know will NEVER help them learn not to do it again.

An easy solution for this in my mind, to keep mods safe and happy, would be to edit the system to tell you what you got kicked off for. For instance, when you get kicked out of the game, a window will pop up saying "You were kicked for swearing" or some such. I don't think that this would be hellatiously hard to program, and I think it could be made very easy for mods to fill out.
I don't know how mods kick right now, but im going to assume its with command lines. So an example for my idea would be:

/kick *username* "You have been kicked for swearing."

This would cause a window that pops up saying "You have been kicked for swearing." And maybe an 'okay' button that boots them to the main screen. "

And there is my idea. Feel free to post and comment / add your own ideas :33

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Idea for Presets & servers
« on: March 28, 2011, 01:40:30 am »
Hello everyone, while perusing other threads here I came across someone who suggested an idea which would allow everyone to see presets that we have. That idea would be a second server only for presets. After doing some research, I discovered that this could actually be a viable alternative to putting presets on the server that we have now.

Because the server would only hold data, it wouldn't need to be an extremely powerful server. On top of that, it would only be holding a few GB of data. The speed of the server wouldn't have to be crazy either, only fast enough to keep up with the checks of the other server. This system, I know, could be programmed very efficiently. Such as only checking peoples presets if they are in front of you, and not loading the preset unless you are actually close enough to really see them. To keep the data level low, they could even implement a preset size limit. 500kb and below only, etc.

I know a major concern with presets is the fact that people would want to put more than one up. This is understandable, everyone usually has more than one character, and they want that character to look their best. A solution for this, I believe, would be how Minecraft does it. If anyone has played the game Minecraft, they most likely have made "skins" for themselves. These "skins" are very similar to presets. How this game handles it, is you can have however many skins you want, you just need to go to the website and re-upload a new skin when you want to use it. This basically takes your skin in the server, and replaces it. This means that everyone can have as many skins as they want, they just need to change them manually. This process takes no longer than a minute, and is very efficient in keeping everyone happy, while also keeping space on the sever low.

Even with this information though, I know that people will question the money aspect. That is a very big deal here, especially since servers do cost a good chunk of change to maintain. This is where my research came to a halt, however. I am most certainly a novice when it comes to servers and networking. I don't know how much it would cost to buy server space to host 6-7gb of data with decent speed. So I would love to invite anyone with good knowledge on this subject to discuss this idea.

     Almost done xD
Last thing, Kovu and Raz might have already explored these options and found that they wouldn't work, I don't know and am just putting my 10cents in here. I just thought that this MIGHT be a solution, maybe even a small one. So all you networking proz out there, go easy on me, im a networking newbie. :)

Hello everyone! :))

My first preset is my own personal preset.

This was the first preset I made. :U
You can see more info about it here!

Now, the real reason I made this topic:
FREE Wolf Link Preset! YAYYY

You can see more info and pictures about it here!
Feel free to give me suggestions for changes you'd like / critiques!

So basically, what this is, is a community preset I made. A preset for everyone who would like it! I would like to continue making these, so I am now open for requests!

edit///   Here is the link to the Wolf-Link preset.  http://www.mediafire.com/?ho5b55o5y9mo3wc
Make sure to read the instructions!

Preset Request!

A preset I made for Jaz X, this is her character Kezra. The rings were very hard to line up, but I got them finally. The scarf was an interesting thing to try, but I really love how her eyes came out! ^^

Another community preset!

I FINALLY got around to making that panda preset! I think it turned out rather well, although I wish there wasn't as much distortion around the chest area. But all and all I think this one turned out really cute! ^^
I also included the PSD for the eye file, so anyone can change the eye color to what they would like :)
As you can tell, this preset was made for the Lion mesh. You CAN put it on a wolf, but the markings get really distorted. If someone REQUESTS a separate wolf panda preset, I will make one, but otherwise I will not. Wolf face markings are annoying.

Here is the download file, remember to read the 'installation' instructions, and enjoy!

Community preset! Yayy! Its a Raccoon!

Featureing lovely fur shading by Usiku!! He was super nice and let me use it for this preset no problem! Thanks again!! The default fur shading didnt look right for a raccoon, but it looks great now! Here is his Preset thread: LINK

This one was difficult because it required the wolf mesh, and because there were a lot of face markings. However, I powered through it, so here you go everyone! Hope you like it!!

Here is the download file, remember to read the 'installation' instructions, and enjoy! Click!

(P.S. Im not gonna make anyone personal presets for free. Message me if you are interested in buying a preset with DA points :V)
