Bahaha, I played a male wolf once.
Worst experience ever.
I was stalked by like...four females.
:/
When you're a female wolf though, everyone avoids you.
xD
Except the pups, they always cling to you.
I always have pups following me;
'Wanna play, wanna be my mommy?'
And then I freak out and go;
'GET OFF OF ME PUPPY. I dun love you.'
D:<
Both genders have pros and cons is what I'm trying to say.

Yea i've noticed this. And ive come up with an equation to describe it
female/male ratio: 100000:500
female/male ratio+mate beggars= males in high demand
males in high demand+mate beggars+females= females gunna chase down the first available male they find
hope that makes some sense. and no offense to anybody
'Tis true. There are more female than male characters around on FeralHeart, but there are more male than female felines, and more female than male canines, but there are more canids than felids in general, so I believe. This is probably because male felines (particularly lions) are more attractive and impressive, and with canines, well, I think people just want to be the one to have pups when they find a mate, which I find rather disturbing.
Currently, I have two female canids, and three male canids (yes, one is a draco), and the male is my main character, because I tend to prefer male animals, even though I'm female (possibly because I'm a bird person, and the male birds are usually more attractive than the females).
I'm a hyena :U
Well, hyena's are still made from the canine model.
