First came Impressive Title, the mother to Feral Heart, which was later replaced by Feral Heart and Impressive World. Then came WolfQuest a wolf rpg. Next Aeon Phase, something a little too close for comfort, followed by its twin sister, Arokai, which is officially crossing the line. Can you compare? THEY'RE ALL SLIGHTLY THE SAME IDEA, CONCEPT, AND MMORPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are there so many?! :o

First off I would like to say there is no competition between any of the games they are all amazing and provide the user with a good experience little can be said about Arokai as no one has really played it on line, There aren't as many as you think I mean compared to a shooter MMORPG you got hundreds of them when you only have limited amounts of Animal based games, Impressive title and its branch off games such as Impressive world should not really be counted as separate games as they are all truly the same leaving us with even less games, So if you think about it we don't honestly have that many.

I don't know if WolfQuest is honestly considered an MMORPG game since, well, the RP part is kinda taken out. :x And it's only five to a chat, so the Massive part is out. So it's an... MOG game.

All of these games are made by different people with different things in mind, even if they seem similar. (Although IT and FH are made by the same person). I see no reason to try and compare them or make them 'fight'. That only separates communities more when we should be trying to bring them together lol :)

First of all, this was about why they were all the same concept, not that there was so many and when they were out.

Aeon Phases isn't even being worked on anymore, is it? The last time I checked it out it wasn't.

It's unknown about Arokai whether work is going on about it or not.
With this logic, it's like saying OMG YOU DRAW WITH PENCIL ON PAPER? I DRAW WITH PENCIL ON PAPER. IT'S THE SAME.
And it's also like saying every MMO is the same because they're all played online with a character. Would you say WoW is the same as TF2 just because you can run around as people online?
Just because the idea of playing as an animal is a similar element, does NOT mean each game is the same. They all develop differently, you have to look past the obvious.
I could list so many differences between all those games, but I'm not because this is silly.
Feral Heart was not replaced by IW. I don't know where you read that.

The only thing these games have in common is that they have animals as the game avatar instead of some mercenary with a big gun and grenades, really.
WQ is more of a simulation game than anything else. That's what it was originally intended to be, the "multi player" feature was slapped on like a refrigerator magnet at the last minute.
The others have sorts of similarities based on common goals but with different ideas, but most games are like that. Most shooting games require you to blow the brains out of things, puzzle games like Zelda (Okami) have dungeons and bosses to beat over the course of the plot and a lot of collectables, and on goes the list of stuff.
If the age range of the people who made these games were actually higher there would probably be a lot more, what with projects like Wolf Generations, Wolfventure, and others falling off the map because of problems that they couldn't handle. :/

I really don't suggest putting 'vs' in any title for anything, it makes it appear as if the games are fighting against eachother, and the simple phrase could cause battles between other users.
Anyway, on the topic, do you ever notice how theres a bunch of them, 'war games' and all, where you shoot the crap out of people?
If you would compare them with animal MMORPGs, which is just pretty much Feral Heart, Impressive Title, Impressive World, Impressive Title Reborn, Aro'kai (Which is yet to be realesed) and Aeon Phase. (I'm not too sure weither this is out or not~] Those would really outnumber the games listed above.
So what? The people may of had similiar ideas, and Impressive World is simply a re-creation of Impressive Title, the last thing it and ITR would be doing is fighting with Feral Heart~.
As for Aro'kai and Aeon Phases, if anything, IW, ITW, and FH would be doing anything with them but starting war. The comunities would be trying to get along with them, not 'cyber' fighting them.
As for Wolf Quest, the game isn't what I would call, social, and as far as I know, it stays in the shadows. In my opinion actually, the game is built better than Feral Heart, but not nearly as fun.

yes on all those you do get to play as a animal. But other then that and Rping is the only thing these have in common. WQ you cant really rp on it because of the chat filters. FH is just basically RPing all the time. Either that or chatting. Arokai isnt out yet so i cant really say for sure but im sure that theres a story behind Arokai.
WHAT IS AROKAI?
Arokai (also known as AK or Aro'kai) is an artistic multiplayer online roleplaying game (AMORG) being created by a sole programmer (Superfeesh) and a team of talented artists. In Arokai, users will be able to select from six different species, who are aligned with different npc 'Gods' that roam in various places throughout the world. Characters will be unique, colorful, and diverse, and will be able to do a variety of interactions with the world and its inhabitants. Ultimately, Arokai is planned to be an artistic game that encourages creativity.
WHO ARE THE CHARACTERS?
Well, the general theme is good versus evil, with sides. On the 'good side' are Wolves, Deer, and Gryphons. On the 'bad' side are Wyverns, Felines, and Bears. On the neutral side are Owls. These will be playable, and will have a limited range of customization options to start with. We also want to put in NPC characters, such as gods of each species, and enemies to fight as well. This will have to come at a later date, since Superfeesh needs to learn AI to some extent in order to do that.
Before you ask i didnt make this up. I got it from the journal from the arokai site. So technically Arokai isnt a MMORPG its a AMORPG.

Hey now, this is actually a pretty interesting topic. We're all discussing about these games being mentioned and giving our own opinions on them, discussing the ways they are similar and different, and even talking about who likes a certain one of these games better than others. I like all of them myself but I feel that FH is one of my favorites so far.
WolfQuest is more of a wolf simulation game, teaching people about the ways wolves live or you can just goof off and do random things like hunt or just chat.
IW (IT) came before FH and was made from a base by Kovu LKD and has chatting, hunting, and you have to search for items.
Aro'kai is a game I'm not sure is being worked on anymore but a little trailer was released showing the different animal species you could play as but I'm not looking forward to playing it.

You practically chose to discuss the different and similar concepts of the game. You cannot get mad at us for doing so. As for what I think, FH and IT and and Aro'kai are along the same line as far as animal rping goes. WQ is just a simulation game that teaches the life of a wolf.

You sure? I would think that Arokai was still being worked on since they've already release the canine creator for download so people can get a taste of what the character creators are like.

I believe that was as far as they worked on it, the the creator said something about possibly going open source with what they have because they didn't really want to go further with it. I believe that was released because it was all they had done so far or something like that, I dunno.

Superfeesh has a journal on the website that she states how far she's done. She has the wolf creator and may possibly go open source but will work on the game when she finds time. She is super busy and is having trouble getting into the project again.

I haven't tried the canine creator yet but I saw it before I may try aro'kai when it's released but I won't leave FH because it's one of my favorite games I found on accident ._.

Maybe you guys look at it from the wrong side?
You shouldnt look at the similiarity of those games but why they are made.
IT and FH also Arokai are made cause the creator do have fun with these and love to improve their skills. Also IT was once made for a special person in Kovus life, and this little game grew more than he was expecting it would do.
However, FH is not to be planned to be an big online MMORPG, it was started with this idea but Kovu does not have the time to make that happen anytime //soon.
Arokai has a clear concept for the game, compared to FH that is made just for having fun.
Its not like the big run against each other of who developes the best, the fastes and what so ever anything you can think of.
I really love that there are now so many different games, some arent up running yet, but its nice to have different feelings and flairs in the different games. For me they are all not the same.

WolfQuest isn't an animal MMORPG. It's an educational simulation game that wolfaboos flock to. It's for teaching kids about wolves.
FeralHeart is an open roleplaying platform, a blank slate for roleplayers to build off of.
Arokai is a planned, MMORPG with a plot.
No rivalry, not really. The games are all different.

I dont believe these games are at competition, each has something the other doesnt which makes them "unique".
Its a shame Aeon Phase isnt being worked on anymore. Most likely the same will happen to Arokai :(

Yeah, neither is Arokai either I believe.
So.... when's the last time the owner of Arokai actually worked on the game? I really want to play that game so badly!!!

I think someone needs to start a new MMO, Aro'kai doesn't seem to be going anywhere, Feral-Heart seems to be at a standstill, Impressive-Title and its spinoffs are dominating that community, Aeon Phase isn't being worked on anymore, and WolfQuest.. is just eh.
I would say that the game I got most excited about was Aro'kai, until of course I waited all these years. Feral-Heart was the biggest surprise for me, I loved it upon release.
I don't think it's possible for me to compare these though... unless I discussed how things could be different.
I think we need more options in the animal-mmo community.

I personally played Wolf Quest first and thought it was the BEST THING EVER. Then I learned of Feral Heart, while it was still in the making. I stopped playing WQ as soon as I discovered FH because I knew it had to be better with all the maps and customization and what not. Plus, WQ has gotten very controlling lately, Ive checked it out a while ago and only about 1000 words are available to use. Thats... sad.

Sorry, I was little when I posted that. Let me make this clear, please FORGET ABOUT EVERYTHING I LISTED THERE. WolfQuest lacks freedom in all ways, Arokai probably won't come out, I'm 99% sure Aeon Phase won't come out, Impressive Title and Impressive World all were made by the same creator of Feral Heart, so they have some similarities. I was and still am a stupid noob, so please forgive me if I'm trying to make all the games fight each other. This thread is now of no use. In my opinion, Feral Heart wins! :D

Honestly, it depends on what you're trying to compare in these games. Are you comparing which ones can do more? Which has better graphics? It could be anything. Just to think of it, neither of them are better or worse. Think of it, they all have thier pro and cons. Don't ya' agree?
