EDIT!!! Beak is DONE! The mesh was made by the amazing Aberguine, and textured by me. It comes in lots of different colors!

I have a dodo beak mesh coming in my extinct animals items pack.. I need to do one more pack then I'll convert them both...

That would be handy... even something to cover the top half of the muzzle would be fantastic for gryphons.

I have one just for this idea mostly done--I'm just looking for some help getting it into a .mesh file and into the game as a wearable item.
I would be most appreciative if someone could tell me how to do this or direct me to a tutorial (preferably a video).

You gotta use an Ogre exporter to convert a .blend file (I don't remember the name, but i think it is .blend) to a .mesh file, remember to use the lastest version from the exporter also.

*Quick Update* I have figured out how to import it ingame as a .mesh file, I just need to figure out how to add the material file...
Otherwise, I'm trying to position it the right way on the head.
BTW, I'm only making this item for the feline models--it probably won't work with canines.

Could you possibly upload the mesh? I'm awesome at texturing and positioning. :3 I'm one of those people who experiment with feralheart files until I have them completely figured out, all for my own entertainment. If I've got a mesh, I can do pretty much anything with it. The only thing I really want to figure out is how to attach particles as items :( Anyone know how?

BTW: Does anyone know of a free program for meshing? I can never figure out blender, and I REALLY want to be able to make my own stuff :(

haha, no problem. I can't make meshes, but I am a map, emote and marking maker. But I understand about mesh converting and exporting too. :D

Put them in Program Files>FeralHeart>Media>Items
And open the 'readme' file and follow the instructions to get them in-game.

If you download it, you can see it on other characters. Other players would have to download it to see it on you, though. It works the same as presets.

Yes. But, if others do not have it, and they have another item in place, you will see it as the gryphon beak, too. That's a very weird, but funny, issue.

If you know you're being hurtful, maybe in the future you could give some critique instead of simply screaming at us. Me and Aberguine made this for the benefit of the community, and I don't appreciate your comment. If you don't like it, don't say anything. You are being extremely rude and it is very uncalled for.

And JadeLover, you have every right to your opinion, however I think if you have a negative comment about something, it's always better to say why you don't like something rather than a simple "I don't like it"
It seems more like you're attacking someone.
Also, don't use big text like that, it only seems like you're proving Rainbow's point or something.
And Rainbow, not every comment someone has to say is a positive one. That's what critiques are for. c:

I actually have been thinking about doing that, Josie. I agree it can look kinda clunky at times since it doesn't quite "sync up" with the expressions. I'll have to see when I can get around to doing it though, as I have finals coming up and a lot of other things on my plate--but thank you for reminding me! I'll post it in my thread.

another idea would be to just make the beak mesh for the top half only, then I could make a marking for the bottom of the jaw that you could color to match the beak. I don't think there's a bone for the lower jaw, so The bottom of the beak might not be able to move with the mouth anyways... I'm not sure so I'll check x_x
And don't feel pressured Aberguine xD I'm booked with school too. It's so hard to be productive as a FH contributor when the second semester is coming to a close! Talk about having a busy life! xD
*EDIT* There IS a bone for the lower jaw xD I've just never seen it used before. It's possible though :3

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen a bone for the lower jaw. Another thing to think about is that if the beak were separated into upper and lower jaws, users would start wanting the teeth on their chars to be invisible (unless you're trying to make an archeopteryx char--good luck with that!). Not necessarily a bad thing, but just something to think about.

Someone filed a case against the file for no reason. I don't think the person who made the claim knew what the file actually was. I filed a counter-claim a few days ago. It hasn't gone through, so I'll try and upload it again... Sorry for the inconvenience. ^-^'

i would love to download this it amzing but you know those other meshes with the graves stone and stuff well............ some of the items keep freezing and saying "feralheart doesn't work please logout of the system". errrr.. why is it doing that?

By the way, I have a question about the instructions here: "As for the codes... Open up The items document in the FH top folder and paste these in there"
What document is this talking about, specifically, and in what folder? The top folder I have is the Items folder, but... There's no document in there to copy-paste these codes into. D: I'm totally new to all of this, so I'll admit I have no idea what I'm doing... xD;; Halp!

sorry, i'm a total noob at this, but do you think you can make am installer for me? i can't open the items.cfg file and i remember ouka making an installer. you don't have to do it if it's too much >.<
EDIT: nvm, i figured out how to open and paste the codes using notepad, but the beaks are not in my list of items, i'll keep working on it and let you guys know if i manage to get the beak working for me ^.^
