If your seeing the normal markings anyone would have like Cheetah, Bubbles etc then thats good, it is safe to replace the existing file (thats the next step) otherwise scroll to the end to find more instructions.
Open up your Feralheart folder and place that .cfg file into the folder and replace the existing one. Dont place it in any of the folders within.

Now still in the Feralheart folder click the "media" folder then the "textuers" folder and place all the marking images there.

You might find that the .cfg file you have downloaded only has the markings you wanted to download and not the original markings Feralheart has. Its not safe to replace the existing markings file in this situation because all the Feralheart markings will be gone!
So you will need to add the new markings to your existing markings.cfg file.
Now in your markings file you will see stuff like [Fbody], [Fhead], [Cbody], [Ctail], etc with the markings names and images next to it. You will have to copy and paste the new markings into the right one.
So copy the first part of the downloaded markings.

Now that with all the downloaded markings until you've finished.
After that you can save by clicking "File" then "Save". Dont click "Save as"!
Lets open up Feralheart and see out new markings!

The coding stuff is only if you want to download more markings or if there isnt the original FH markings in the markings.cfg file.
Open the markings.cfg file with Notepad and just read through the markings file included with your download. If you see familiar marking names like Cheetah or EarRims or something then you can just move the new markings file into your FH folder and replace the old one.
The coding is there so your old markings dont get replaced and unable to use.

If there's a thread on the forums that offers markings for download, just click on the download link. It will most likely bring you to Mediafire or Tinyurl. Then scroll down and there will be a button that says download. Click on it, and it will either save the file in your Downloads folder, or it will ask you where you would like to save the file on your computer. Click Save File, and it will start downloading onto your computer.

Samantha: Are you in the Preset Maker character creation menu or logged in? To check out the markings (in Preset Maker) make sure you have clicked the "Custom" button on the last tab, rather than having the "Use Preset" button already selected. Also make sure none of the text in the markings.cfg file has been changed.
Something i noticed the first time was if there are any spaces between the ";" and "f/cmark" part it will also not show up.

Can you help me? I'm having trouble finding Feral Heart markings. Well I'm finding a lot but they're not showing me like the file for it. And so it's hard finding Feral Heart markings with the cfg file. >.< And I don't know how to download the files. But all I'm seeing for the download and extract the file is only the extract the file. Did I do a mistake that made me get a bigger mistake? And I really want a marking or markings for my Feral Heart characters. And by the way how do you find cfg files? It's good you're being cautious but it would be very unlikely to download a bug with a marking pack. Those sorts of files don't carry viruses, it's more .exe files and applications.
If it's a very popular marking pack that everyone seems to have then there definitely wouldn't be a virus. If you are still worried you can send me the download link and I'll virus test it myself for you ;)

Are you sure you replaced the markings.cfg with the one in the download? (Or added the markings through Notepad). Make sure the coding is correct and if you're using Preset Maker then make sure you click the Custom button.
The reason other people can see the markings is due to the order the markings are in. So if the marking you were wearing was the tenth on the list for example was "spots" and the tenth marking on the other persons' list was "stripes" then they would be seeing "stripes" instead of "spots". Unless of course they had the exact same marking pack installed.

I believe the markings in the images I've posted were an older version of Mass Markings, as well as a few of my own markings.

You would have to download a markings pack to get the images. I believe the most popular one is the Mass Markings (http://www.mediafire.com/download/d8rp5m6pic93223/Mass+Markings.zip) pack.
You can also search the Preset and Markings (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&board=22.0) board. DeviantArt (http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/?section=&global=1&q=feralheart+markings) is also a good place to look for markings.

Once you download the markings pack it should be in your Downloads folder as a .zip. Also, on your comment about legendary having everything from the mass markings, this thread was created well before the legendary markings were created. o:
