hi guys
i have a problem from the beginning of fh.
and i would love to hear your opinion and thoughts about this matter...
on the forum, sometimes i cant post my messages, or topics because my IP is blacklisted.
like this thread, im sure i have to reload the page a couple of times before it is as kind letting me post.
im sure im not the only one having this problem.
-doesnt let you post, have to reload many many times.
-if accidently logged out of forum, cant get back on, because it says: access denied, IP blacklisted
-if logged out and cant get back on, if you have questions or a problem, it cant be answered because you cant get help on the forum
it is just annoying.
everyone who doesnt know about blacklistings because they are lucky:
Blacklist means a list of IPs, which had been reported of various reasons(like reported for spam sending, virus sender etc.), and so every site that uses this "security" database, wont let these IPs register, post messages, log in etc.
So, if you are sharing IP with someone, you can get randomly on this list as well, and then in the next moment you cant log in or post.
i say this is a awful "security" system.
why?
1. there are hundreds of innocent users who cant register or post. nor play because they cannot create account, because they are accidentally sharing the IP with a reported site
2. new spam senders appear in a matter of moments, so the blacklist is useless against new ones.
3. many spam senders and virus sender sites dont exist anymore, but the IPs are still on the list
4. its super annoying
i understand that FH just wants to secure themselves from spam bots, and virus senders... but
this is the MOST ridiculous solution ive ever seen!
ive NEVER seen any other forum use this "security" database. i wonder why.. oh because it isnt 100% secure, and is annoying to users. and maybe they do know about ppl sharing IPs nowadays. its really common now.
best solution, that every other forum uses to prevent spambots:
we all know it...
the good old random letters or numbers generator (one of them called captcha). it wont register computers automatically. so this means: no spambots.
and about virus senders.. new ones always appear, and they use proxy so useless anyway.
so i say: this whole blacklist should be removed and let users post and register peacefully.

I agree with you Gargantor!
I am fortunate enough to not have this blacklisting problem, but if it is causing you and many others all of these issues, a new system should be put in place.

v.v I hate being backlisted. Funny thing is, I didn't even know what backlisted meant 'till now. Anyways. This could have been said nicer, but I do agree with it.

i agree, could have been nicer but i have already been nice so to say. ive brought up this to the attention of the mods and members on many occasions, but it was ignored.
im sure something can be done, and this is a big issue and shouldnt be ignored.

Well since this is a Bug, why dont you come to us earlier?
How can we take care of this obviously big problem if no one tells us?
Obvious nothing happens if no one tells us.
I will tell this to Raz, it will get taken care of.
Edit: Mentioning this Problem in other Threads or Ingame dont helps to solve the Problem.

Yeh, this is annoying... luckily, I don't have this problem, but I know a lot of others do.

i opened thread after thread on every FH forum i could find...
here too. just got ignored.
they were all in the help section. i thought now opening one here, in deneral discussion would earn more attention. i was right....
and there had been threads created by other users as well, having the same problem...
Edit: Raz knows, i told him already my problem. he didnt really seem to take it as a bug. its how the forum is "protected". but its just causing pretty much problems and annoyance to users.

first, after i couldnt make an account because of this, i wrote to other Fh related forums, like impressive hearts, and kovuworks. on every forum, they said they will tell the admins.
nothing was done.
so after i got on another internet at a different place, i made my account and made a thread about it, here, on this forum, at the help section. asking for help. this is when moderators told me to email Raz. so i did, and he told me whats going on.
first i wasnt ablte to post anything at all.
now for a while, i can now, but i have to refresh the site many times.
plus if i log out accidentally, i still cant log back in, and have trouble sending PMs as well.
i couldnt register a second account for the game either(because of keyboard issues i cant enter my password of this account ingame), just at another place. So the problem is still there.

my issue with this randomly pops up and goes away. It gets annoying...

As i sed, its now being taken care of. The issue wont go away in the next view days since we will have to get a tool so that wont happen again. I just talked about this issue with Raz, and he immediately searched for a tool to solve this.
So the only thing you can do for now is wait till we have bought the toll and sorted it out and inserted it into the forum code, what most likely will take some time.
EDIT:
I dont want to sound rude by the way. Its just the way of pointing it out that we wouldnt care a -Removed by moderator- when this is not true.

And i apreciate that you still try to point out issues even when you got rejected to get help.
I do understand that this is frustrationg, to try to get help and no one listens to you. I am just somwhat happy that i sometimes can get to see such Threads and try to take care of.. unlike others do i guess..

It's really heart warming to see how an issue was brought up, there was conflict, and it got resolved rather peacefully. <3 /totally off topic but it's the nicest thing I've seen all day/in this forum for awhile.

It was thought to be solved 3 Weeks ago, as Raz modified it so Kov could get on. So it wasnt anything actual anymore to him.

Okay, i finally got on FH forum via college internet.
I would like to inform the FH staff that the blacklisting is as bad as ever.
Now it yet again, wont let me even look at the site. i write in the link, and it all goes: Forbidden, IP blacklisted by this and that site (cant remember exact text)
I wont be able to reply to this thread in the whole summer if its not solved... it is my last day being in college.
I really hope it get fixed soon, so i can come and ask for help if needed, look at the discussions and open my own threads again.
