Title: THE HUNGER GAMES [Inactive since 19/04/2012]

You live in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive... May The Odds Be Forever In Your Favor!

Welcome to The Hunger Games ladies and gentlemen! This is a fan-based roleplay on the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I by no circumstances am going to allow any actual characters given from the book as that would seem to be plagiarism.

I truly welcome you to The Hunger Games! You were lucky enough to be chosen for the reaping as a tribute to your District. I enjoy seeing all your lovely little faces and am excited to see how you will do in this year's Hunger Games! Good luck tributes!

ARENA SETTING:
The arena is large and has a circular shape. You arrive at the Cornucopia along with the other tributes. On your left are mountains; They look peaceful, littered with some cherry-blossom trees. The cherries are poisonous, although, you don't know that. Behind you is a vast field with waist high grass. You're not sure what could be in the grass, and it looks like a nice place to hide, but your still uncertain about what lurks inside the field. Ahead of you is a desert--A mild change in scenery. You're not sure if it's an illusion, but there seems to be what looks like an oasis farther out in the desert. And finally, to your right is a barren field of close knit yet large rocks. Each one grows from it's place in the ground and builds up to form the mountains that are on your left, but aside from the mountains they look like they could offer shade. No plants in sight in that area, though.  The clock is ticking. A loud voice booms in the arena."Ten." It starts slowly. "Nine. Eight. Seven..." You count down the rest in your head until a loud buzzer sounds. Time is up. So, young tribute, which area will you claim as yours? Will you run directly at the Cornucopia, or flee and wait until the best weapons are with the Careers? Are you alone, a Career, or will you form a pack of your own? That is for you to decide..

LITHIUM IODINE

Name: Lithium Iodine
District: 5
Sex: Female
Age: Sixteen
Appearance:
A young woman with white waist length hair--bangs partially covering her right eye-- two strands descending from her bangs that reach her breasts, Crystal blue ((almost white)) irises, and District 5's common uniform.

Arena Appearance:

1st outing-A sparkling white tattered dress, the bottom tinted with a light blue, as well as having a slit up to her thigh. Her hair is straight and long, leaving only two long strands that go down to her breasts ((assumably part of her bangs)) whilst the rest of the hair is pulled back into a ponytail. She wears blue eyeshadow and heavy eyeliner to define her eyes.

2nd outing ((Interview))- Another fabulously well designed dress which has a somewhat gothic appearance. She now has black streaks in her bangs, red eyeshadow, and defined red lips. To match her makeup she is wearing a ripped black dress with a corset like feel. Lacing goes up the back of her dress and appears to attach onto her spinal cord ((a trick by her stylist)). Her hair is down in this interview.

Arena- Lithium's hair is now up in a ponytail and she's more weary of not looking sexy-but being a fierce opponent in battle and conscious of her surrounding teammates. She wears a black spaghetti-strap t-shirt, black jeans, a studded belt ((useful for hiding weapons--equipped with mace)), and combat boots.

Tribute Memorabilia: A necklace with the District 5 symbol engraved in a small vile--holding carbon dioxide to make the vile change colors.

Personality: Lithium is usually hostile and solitary, and whilst intelligent she is usually rather quick to make decisions. She takes a while to become used to people and doesn't take betrayal lightly. Cross her and you'll end up dead.
Weapons/Special abilities : Katanas/Using the body's own natural resources as a weapon against her opponent.

Personality: He likes to be left alone, he is extremely hostile. His "normal" greeting is his gun to your chest, and a cold-hearted stare.

@BlackCatTrain: I believe five members should be enough to get the roleplay going. Because, there's not a lot of interest in this group so far. Besides, we can always add random fillers for the districts that don't receive tributes.

I haven't read the book or watched the movie yet (I'm planning on seeing it though). I've only watched the trailers and read an article where they basically gave the gist of what The Hunger Games is about so I hope that's OK. ^^;

Personality: When anyone first meets Junko she comes off as standoffish, but it's only because she doesn't want to get close to anyone and vice versa. If someone is able to break through the wall she put up though they will see that she is a kind, caring, compassionate and sometimes mischievous person. The keyword is "if." The last time she let somebody get close to her they hurt her deeply and because of that she's even more standoffish toward males.
Weapon/s/Special Skill/s : She has a 12 inch wakizashi (It's a Japanese sword and I suggest that you guys look it up to see what it looks like) that is inside of a holster which is attached to the back of her pants so anyone she runs into won't see it at first and if she can't use it she will use her fists instead. She's good at hand-to-hand combat since her father had been teaching her since she was little up until she was 13./From having to catch skittish animals on the farm she's very good at being stealthy and she can also run faster and for a longer period of time than most people.
Other: She despises the Capitol and the people living in it for how they treat the people living in the districts and for creating The Hunger Games. So, now that she has been chosen as a tribute she's determined to survive and beat it no matter what or who gets in her way.  (Though, those two aren't the main reason why she wants to beat The Hunger Games. If you want to find out what it is then your character needs to be close to her. >;P) But, that doesn't mean she won't feel horrible for killing the other tributes. If she could avoid killing anyone, she would.

Usual clothes: Black vest with dark breeches and zori (the shoes found in Naruto)

Parade clothes: Theme: Sakura (cherry blossoms): Dark grey short dress (tube-top) dotted with black cherries and black gloves with branches that sprout out and sport cherry blossoms.  She also wears black leggings covered with black knee-high heels. She has a black and grey hat that shoots cherry blossoms around her. Her is curled slightly and down in locks.

Interview clothes: What's in the picture with black half-gloves and her hair just down

Arena clothes: Uh....the same as everyone else (everyone wears the same clothes in the arena). She has cut off most of her hair and tied it back into a ponytail, leaving some of it to shape her face.

If she wins, I'll tell you what she's wearing and so on and so forth.

Personality: On the outside, Kasumi seems like just a normal girl who's scared and afraid of the Hunger Games, when really, she's been training this whole time. She has a serious grudge against the Capitol for taking her parents, and she's been surviving on her own this whole time, secretly stealing crops and hunting for food. On the inside, there really is nothing but a deep hatred for the Capitol. She may seem nice, but I doubt you should trust her.

Weapon/s/Special Skill/s: Kasumi's good with mostly just a knife or her fists, but she can also use a bow and arrow. Like Rue, she can leap from tree to tree and is very agile. On the other hand, she isn't very big, and although her limbs are strong, she wouldn't do very well in a straight-on fight with someone bigger than her, even though she's pretty good at martial arts.

Other: Nothing that I know of

P.S. Me going to see the Hunger Games movie later today w/ my friends! So excited ^^

Good things: Almost exactly like the book. Lots of things were exactly the way I imagined them and I totally loved it!!!

Also, in reply to your tidbits I'm a huge fan of NaruSaku but even so I also like NaruHina.  Then again, I'm the kind of person where even if NaruSaku doesn't happen as long as Naruto is happy with the girl he's with then I'm happy. xP And I'm sure you didn't snore 'cause if you did then the other people probably would've woken you up. I'm a fan of NaruKitsu, but if I have to be a fan of Naru-- that's actually in the show I'd have to say SaiNaru X3. With a girl NaruSaku, because Hinata is kind of annoying even though her character is OK I guess, but she is the ultimate competition >:I I'm a kind of jealous person when it comes to boys, and I'm OK with him talking to Hinata as long as they stay away from romance, and by then I'll have dragged Naruto-kun to Ichiraku to have a ramen date together X3 Same here, though: As long as Naruto's happy, I'm happy (as long as he's not with Hinata

Um....this is getting off-topic, so I'm going to make a discussion post about this so we don't spam this user's Hunger Games thread.)

He is the male with the darker hair, on the left.
 
Personality: Kai is a very smug, jokey and arrogant. He can either brighten your day or ruin your life, it just depends on who you are and how he views you. If your lucky, earning Kai as a Allie will definitely be somewhat helpful to your survival, as he is clever, very determined, and powerful. He is very protective of those close to him and will be a trustworthy helping hand. However, having him as your enemie depends on how quick you are, as he is not the speediest of people. If your unfortunate enough to face Kai in battle, he can assure you that he will not go down with out a good fight and intends on lasting a long while in The Hunger Games. However, Kai is sure that he has no chance of winning at all, and gets very emotional at the thought of his younger brother being with out him.
 
Weapon/s/Special Skill/s: Kai is very skilled at throwing knifes, as almost never misses when welding one. So watch your back! He is also very strong and loves fighting with swords as he has the power to push his opponent away from him, and attack when they are open.
 
His weakness's are...
 
Bows and arrows, never used one, never will.
Speed and stamina.
He is unsure of what is edible and what is not.

I believe we should have some sort of posting order so everyone should get their share of posts, but it really is unfair if the person above you is inactive for quite a long while. I don't think there should be an order because someone might forget what they were going to say/rp before they were going to say it. Also, I'm not a very patient person, so it would just totally stress me out waiting for my turn. I think it's just a good idea to wait for a person to post when they're inactive. It's just an opinion, so if you disagree please don't attack me D:

@xXEmo_CookieXx: I don't mind the posting order, but like you said it would be unfair if the person above one of us is inactive for a while. It's one of the things that annoy me the most during an rp. I don't mind if they at least let us all know first that they're going to be gone for a few days but to just disappear without saying anything is kind of rude unless something major happened then I would understand.

Random question: Is Kai's token OK? I mean, aren't tokens which can be used as a weapon not allowed? o.o

Yus the tip can be rounded off :3 I  wondered if it would be acceptable as a token due to its sharpness, remembering that Katniss almost was almost unable to take her Mocking Jay pin into the arena. >.>

ARENA SETTING:
The arena is large and has a circular shape. You arrive at the Cornucopia along with the other tributes. On your left are mountains; They look peaceful, littered with some cherry-blossom trees. The cherries are poisonous, although, you don't know that. Behind you is a vast field with waist high grass. You're not sure what could be in the grass, and it looks like a nice place to hide, but your still uncertain about what lurks inside the field. Ahead of you is a desert--A mild change in scenery. You're not sure if it's an illusion, but there seems to be what looks like an oasis farther out in the desert. And finally, to your right is a barren field of close knit yet large rocks. Each one grows from it's place in the ground and builds up to form the mountains that are on your left, but aside from the mountains they look like they could offer shade. No plants in sight in that area, though.  The clock is ticking. A loud voice booms in the arena."Ten." It starts slowly. "Nine. Eight. Seven..." You count down the rest in your head until a loud buzzer sounds. Time is up. So, young tribute, which area will you claim as yours? Will you run directly at the Cornucopia, or flee and wait until the best weapons are with the Careers? Are you alone, a Career, or will you form a pack of your own? That is for you to decide..

The bell rings. Loud, and I find myself clutching the necklace my mother gave me tightly. I've assessed my situation. As frightened as I am I force my legs to move, my combat boots pounding heavily against the ground with every step. I'll never be able to sneak up on anyone as of now, but stealth isn't necessary right now. All that matters is I stay alive. My heart is racing and I can't help but flinch as I see the other larger tributes advance-- Not as fast as me, but I'm pretty sure their strength makes up for speed. I want to groan, but my vocal cords won't cooperate. As the adrenaline surges through my veins, I blindly pick up something from beside the Cornucopia and make off towards the mountains. As I turn to look at the mess behind me a cannon fires. One person--another cannon- Two people are dead. I force my gaze away from the Cornucopia and focus on what I'd grabbed; an oriental style sheath. I know immediately what it is. A katana. Smiling to myself, I slide the sheath into my belt loop and continue running. It was all I'd grabbed. So now I'm without any water or food and will have to rely on the animals for that resource. For now it seems I'm traveling into the mountains alone, but no doubt that others will follow. I've got to find a place to set up camp... and soon.

I stayed on my platform a while longer, knowing that the careers were probably focused on the ones trying to one away-the ones in motion more. I assessed the situation, still on edge, but I could always dodge if it came to that. Slowly and silently, I stepped off the platform, remaining calm, and began sneak around, dodging any attacks, getting grazed above the eyebrow by a stray knife, and my arm nearly shredded off by a barrage of arrows. Despite this pain, I picked up the largest backpack I could find, a set of kunai knives, shuriken, and some bows and arrows. Then, fast as lightning, I leapt away.
   OUCH! something had struck me, missing my heart by merely an inch.
Pelting away, bathed in my own blood, I raced toward the cherry blossoms, which reminded me of home. I ran as far away from them as I could, leaping through the trees, having my weapons at the ready for anyone who decided to follow me. I finally decided to stop in a tree and began rummaging through my rucksack, and pulled out a coat, some rope, another pair of clothes, a sleeping bag, a breathing mask, a mask and some dried fruit.
  I counted my shuriken and found there were about fifty. I counted my kunai knives and found there were about fifteen. This should be enough to keep me alive...for now, but I had no idea what lay ahead of me....
  I pondered making an alliance with somebody, and if so, who should I ally with? Someone not so strong that they could easily break me in half, but not someone so weak that they would just be a dead weight...My own District 11 Male Counterpart would be a good option, but I seriously had no idea where he was. I spotted someone coming by this way to the mountains earlier, maybe they would be a good partner. I decided that if I came across them I would ask to ally them, but I doubted that they would actually say yes, judging them from earlier. It really wouldn't hurt to ask, though....
Whatever, if I come across them, I'll ask, if I don't it doesn't even matter. I'll ask whoever survives long enough to reach the mountains. If they happen to be too strong, or seem to want to betray me, I'll just kill them in their sleep or something....scratch that.
    Joining the Career Pack seemed like a bad idea, considering how powerful those guys were, but I guess I could just ditch them after it was down only to the strong ones...but who says I would even make it that far? I was only from the lowly District 11, anyways. They would never accept me. No matter, I'll just continue as is and see what happens... I begin to leap through the forest again.

(Ahhh, epic music helps a lot when it comes to coming up with ideas for fight scenes. xP)

Junko steeled herself before the bell rung and when it did she dashed toward the Cornucopia, gaze locked onto a pair of wakizashi swords hanging from a wall. Apparently she wasn't the only who wanted them though, 'cause when she grabbed them she was suddenly yanked back by the back of her collar and thrown to the ground, knocking the wind out of her and making her lose her grip on the wakizashi swords as she rolled a few feet before coming to a stop on her back. When she opened her eyes they immediately widened and she rolled to the side, barely dodging one of the wakizashi swords before it stabbed the ground where she had been and the one holding the wakizashi was a boy and from the look on his face he was surprised at her speed. Not wanting to waste the moment of surprise Junko swung her leg around and kicked the side of the boy's head, knocking him over and forcing him to let go of the wakizashi. While he was busy holding his head as blood trickled from one of his ears she grabbed the wakizashis handle and she pulled it out of the ground as she got up and casting a glance at the other wakizashi she decided it wasn't worth the risk- one weapon was better than none- so she ran toward the vast field without looking back, snatching a small backpack from the ground on the way. Small backpack or large, it didn't matter to her as long as it had something useful inside.

Alivia could hear her heart beat. The green grass seemed to stop moving, and everyone seemed to stop too. Alivia took a breath and looked around. The earth began to move again. Fast.
 Alivia ran like hell.
She ran, her feet beating against the ground. As she was running, she grabbed a backpack and swung it around her shoulder. On her way, Alivia also grabbed a knife and a dagger. She flipped them in her hands and through them in her bag. Alivia bolted towards the forest, hoping to find some water and possibly something to start a fire with. As Alivia ran, she heard a sickening boom. Someone must have died. She slowly climbed up into a tree, something she had learned from watching previous Hunger Games. Alivia looked on the ground for any other competitors. When there was none, Alivia jumped down from the tree and looked for something to eat. Damn. I could have gotten something from the Cornucopia.

Train sprited toward the Sakura trees, his over-sized White T-shirt was waving in the wind behind him, with his gun drawn, he dashed up one of the Saukura's, the pistol waving in his hand as he ducked behind it's pink and white cover.
He noticed a girl below (that means you Kitsune XD); "Who are you?" he called and dashed down toward her, she pointed the pistol at her chest and gave her a cold stare.

(sorry If I'm epicly failing XD, I only read five chapters so far XP and never saw the movie)

Kai felt his heart hit against his chest violently, his heavy breaths were just as painful, and the world around him seemed to be spinning.  Urgh...Stop it! His mind spat at him, but as each second passed, his vision continued getting blurrier and more out of focus. This was not a good start at all. The countdown had already reached five, but Kai was still nowhere near in a fit state to battle a bunch of tributes or to run towards a place of shelter. If he passed out now, the dark haired youth would fall into the minefield and blown into smithereens before the actual games had ever started...
 
That was not a pride filled way to fall.
 
Kai shook his head rapidly, as if it would make any difference to his state of mind. Surprisingly, his vision quickly slid back into focus, but the other tributes had already pounced towards the Cornucopia and grabbed most of the best weapons available. He was left with little option but to run where his legs took him, and this was towards a rocky air which was littered with trees and other vegetation, which was quite a fair place for survival in Kai's eyes. His instinct had done rather well. The dark hair youth grabbed the closest bag pack to him before continuing dashing towards the rocks, but even though he was running with all his might, his speed still didn't match that of any of the other tributes. Maybe they had already seen his weakness...
 
Suddenly he felt a sharp pain reach the top of his shoulder, not intense enough for him to cry out aloud, but enough for him to clasp his hand around the small leaking wound. Quickly, Kai twisted his head to face his attacker to find it to be a young light haired girl now left weaponless as she had just used her spear in attempt to attack Kai. He laughed aloud, grasping the spear in his free hand and waving it at the girl, she clearly would not last long here. "Well thank you very much!" He yelled before heading towards his place of "safety".

BANG! The cannon had sounded, someone must have already been defeated.

My stomach lurched as I watched the bloodbath unfurl. I'd found someplace safe to hide and watch the Cornucopia. I watched as both tributes from District two lay motionless and still by the Cornucopia--supposedly where the weapons they were after once stood, and as the other tributes fled from the scene. Smart. The Careers were still fighting it out somewhat but had noticed where the other tributes had disappeared to. I bit my lip. No doubt the Careers would head here first. "-Removed by Moderator-..", I cursed quietly under my breath, brushing myself off. I hadn't seen a stream or a source of water anywhere, so I supposed it was better that I leave quickly.
The short rest I had was rewarding, rejuvenating my muscles and willing me forward once more. So far I was lucky. I hadn't come across any other tributes, nor any traps from the Game Makers. I'm panic stricken. Yes, there were cherries here, and that's most likely the only source of food--I hadn't heard a single bird chirp since I stopped running--but since so many other tributes had come this way I couldn't risk it. So now where? The rocks? The field? or the desert? I don't exactly know what happened but my legs had turned and steered me back down the mountains. If this was to be the end of me...
On my way back down the mountain I found my legs were steering me in the direction of the desert. BANG. Another one gone. I found myself thinking that it was the frail young girl from District 3, her light hair making her an easy target. I cursed again, remembering my hair was white and how easily I'd have been spotted if I'd stayed in the mountains. Well, that's it. No going back there. I stumbled, thus, falling. As I fell to the ground I let out a yell of agitation. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand. Had any of the others heard that? I got to my feet, hissing in pain. I'd twisted my ankle. Despite the pain I continued running. If I survive this, my mentor's going to give me hell about running on a twisted ankle. He's a medicine freak. But whatever. I continue running, eventually getting used to the pain and learning to ignore it...

((That makes three dead guys. Both tributes from District two, and whom else? You vote the female tribute from District three? OTL.. Otherwise known as the girl Kai stole the weapon from?
Plus; I'll be sure to put GAMEMAKER in bold then the Game Maker's post if I see any interference needed. What's an arena without traps, eh?))

(I'm in the trees, but that's OK. My post was so long I probably wouldn't have read the whole thing X3)
I whip around, backflipping and gripping onto a tree, the bark digging into my soft palms. I spot a young man about twelve or thirteen-around my own age.
   'Why should I tell you?' I say without feeling, holding my backpack up as a shield to any attacks.
Then I spot his pistol. I'm surprised the game-makers actually included that. I stay on guard, my hand instinctively inching toward my kunai knives. On the other hand, he looks like the kind of person I was suspecting would be a good comrade...but I really hadn't assessed his skills yet, and that gun set me on edge....
   'Tell me who you are...and I'll tell you.... Although I will tell you I'm the Tribute from District 11'
I smell cherries...they smell sweet, but for some reason, their scent is little bit off from the ones in my orchard at home. I also (like Lithium) do not hear any birds, and notice the occasional dead rabbit or squirrel around.

After running for about 40 minutes Junko stopped and wiped the sweat from her brow. 'I should be safe... For now,' she thought as she breathed heavily.

Junko turned to look back in the direction the Cornucopia is.

'One...'

BANG!

'Two...'

BANG!

'Three...'

"Three already, huh?" she mused after a few seconds of silence. Good. That meant there was going to be less blood on her hands after this stupid game was over. Sighing, she got down on her knees and placed the backpack down in front of her so she could go through it. Glue... String... Buttons... A thin beige blanket...

"And a...pair of socks," she muttered, staring at them. She huffed in annoyance. "Great. What can I use this stuff for? To make a sock puppet?" she grumbled before she stuffed the useless things back into the backpack, followed by the rest of the items that were in it.

Kai continued dashing towards the rock area until he came across a rather tiny cave, sure enough it would be cramped but would prove a great hiding place and shelter. The main problem was that it was not large enough for more than one person, so if Kai gained any allies they would have to find a resting spot elsewhere...
 
The dark haired youth sat beside the cave and began to rummage through his rucksack, finding that it contained: a small bottle to carry water, a pair of rabbit traps, and bandages. Not a bad gathering... Kai thought to himself turning each item over in his hand carefully before stuffing them back into his rucksack along with his knife.
 
Unsure of what exactly to do, Kai decided to look for water and gained higher ground to get a good view of the arena. The only water source he could see was that beyond the desert, which seemed like quite a good long trek to reach. Maybe that where they want us to go...we all have to go there to get water, and that how they get us to fight... He let out a snarl under his breath, reminding himself that this was some stupid sick game set up by the capitol and he shouldn't be here waiting to die anyway. However, Kai was not planning to sit there and die. I'll head there at nightfall, and get some rest now...everyone else will be ready setting up camp... 
 
A sudden dull cry echoed around him, it was clearly from quite a while away. But it meant someone was wounded, and that someone was now weak. Maybe its time I started playing this game the bloody way they want me too...But could I really...Kill?

@xXEmo_CookieXx: I enjoyed the movie too, but the only problem I had with it is that it seemed too fast paced to me. Like, everything was happening so fast that I didn't get a chance to become attached to the characters. Katniss's little sister? I wouldn't have cared whether she had been replaced by Katniss or not. Rue? I was attached to her a little bit but by then she was killed off. Of course, this is coming from someone who hasn't read the book yet so I haven't gotten the chance to get attached to the characters as much as the fans who have read the book.)

I figured it was going to be a few good hours until I reached the desert's oasis. I bit my lip, continuing to trail along in the now hot terrain. I scrambled along, constantly looking around for any sign of danger. None. My heart was pounding faster and harder by the minute.
For now there was nothing else I could do but continue running. The terrain was sandy and hot, my mouth was becoming dryer with ever step. I need to get to the oasis soon... If it really was an oasis. If not I suppose I'd just be dead within four to five hours as the heat increased.
I'm panting harder than I ever have and am about to collapse when a movement to my right stuns me in my place. A large coyote was staring at me curiously with it's golden eyes and fangs glinting. It's lips curled up into a snarl and it slowly padded towards me. This was the first sign of life I'd seen all day besides my opponents-- And if there's a coyote way out here in the desert than that oasis must be real.
Without thinking I curled my lips back in reply, making a growling noise and reaching for my katanas. With a bark the coyote jumped, lunging itself at me. I kicked and squealed as it knocked me back on my butt and was gnawing ruthlessly at my arm. I hadn't drawn my katana in time... The coyote was squealing with delight as it ripped and tore. I felt muscle being shredded and flesh being ripped away from my arm. Another agonized yell, then finally I found the strength with my other arm to slash at the coyote but only managed to hit it with the butt of my hilt. -Removed by Moderator-...
