Title: Yay for returning from holiday (look here about server downtime)

As some of you do and some of you don't know I came back from holiday yesterday apparently over the past week they've been emailing me threatening to take down the server for over usage not that its anywhere near the limits in my agreement with them they've told me the game should be back up either this evening to tomorrow as u can see I've got a fun little hack to get the site working again. I'll debate the issue with them over the next week and if we cant find a resolution looks like I'm gunna have to move hosts again.

For those who are a bit techy there effectively saying I'm sending too many packets per second apparently over 30000 per sec pulls up hack warning flags even if they are tiny payloads distributed evening across 100s of IP's.

Well if I may ask, Why doesn't FH host their own servers? Yes, the initial cost is harsh, but even then not always because you can turn simple small laptops and tower computers into servers. Its worth it in the end. Plus no fighting with the Hosting Company. I can see, though, how it would be a financial strain on FH.

The server itself isn't the issue I could well stuff a server of my own in a colocation rack in a data center but that wouldn't change the network load. the only way to do that would be to get a high performance fibre connection put to my home which hugely outweighs the costs of 10's of servers.

Hope that clears things up

Who are the ones threatening you by email? you said the've and I do not understand half of what you typed, sorry to say that, I do not mean to be mean saying that. I only see that the server will hopefully come back up today or tommorow. Not to put any pressure on you and all,  But I really hope it is tiday it comes back up, because I am in a very important part in my Roleplay. Thank you. :'(  <>_<>

welcome back, I was going insane to see that the server's down. I thought it went down like cuz i have no connection. ThANK YOU SO MUCH for the warning. I have to admit... I play FH a little too much lol

All us Feral Heart members are way to addicted to this game >_< the fact that more than half of us dont know what to do with ourselves when the server is down is kinda sad, though i will say i am one of those who is sitting here wondering how to pass time till the servers are up again :P

wow, sorry you came back to this. but, i am glad it will be resolved. i am totally addicted to fh and i nearly went into a panic not being able to get on. i am calm now, hearing the news.

Well I'm glad the server (may) come up again. If not I wish you luck with all the issues that you have to go through (as I do anyway) to get it up and running again. <3

Goodness, I pretty much freaked due to the fact I couldn't connect! I was planning on what I was gonna do on Feral Heart when all of a sudden I couldn't get on!  I'm glad I came across this. I hope nothing else happens...

I am happy for you but.... my "Cannot connect to font server" has been going on for 2 days! I was in the middle of an RP but I lost connection and I STILL can't log on! I KNOW I am not banned.... My router (Internet connection) is fine... someone help me....  :-[

I don't remember it going on for 2 days (seeing as I was connected just yesterday) but if you did not read, ther server is still offline. Just look at the top left of the webpage and it'll tell you when it's online.

But right now it states: Game server is Offline

Check the top left area of the webpage. It says Game server is Offline. It'll say when it's online or not. (:

This totally threw me off... because last night I installed WolfQuest... I haven't played it in a while, and wanted to... Then I got tired of it and wanted to play Feral Heart, and the server wouldn't connect. I really thought it had something to do with me installing WolfQuest. XD  Good thing I decided to login and look further into the issue!

Ok! Great I was in a warrior cats Map and was getting led to my camp when the connection failed. I was about to uninstall feral heart and reinstall it but when I went on the site to see how many people were on it wouldn't let me in the site 3: Thats what stopped me from uninstalling it. Good to hear it will be back up again! And Welcome back!! :3

Lolz... Im so addicted to this game and i have this idea for an un-realistic wolf.... to get in a group with maps and a rivalry, be on the friendly side, and you know, be in a nice mapped group!!!! I hope everything works out and the game will be on tomorrow.... OR I'LL DIE!!! xD just kidding :)

Webs, Razmiriz, and good luck with the negotiations! If all else fails, toads are surprisingly effective at getting durps to cooperate. ^^

I was going nuts this morning trying to figue out what was wrong with the internet when the site wouldn't come up. I'm so glad it'll be up again soon, but now I'm wondering what to do. Lol.

Just putting this out there if anyone has any idea: I've been having issues logging in to Plains (bad tokens, unable to connect to map server), could the overload of packets be a possible reason for this?

Oh wow ._. That seems like a pretty bad way to come back from holiday, I surely hope it'll get better. Also, if it really gets bad can't they use two of their servers to host feral heart? It so far seems quite appropriate since this may be one of their bigger games that is using their servers.

Also, I hope you've had a nice holiday vacation, we all need to take off stress once in awhile after all Lol.

No, the server going down and game updates have nothing to do with each other, as teh game itself is not stored on the server. So there will not be anything new when the server comes back up.

Server always gets a restart every once in a while to prevent bad tokens, maps getting stuck and the like. So the server IS going to go down sometimes regardless of whether you'd like it to or not.

However, as for the server "crashing"; /that/ problem should be solved for the most part.

As of now, server is online and fine.

aw man that sucks just a thought would it make a difference if you made a bunch of different servers or something so that when players logged in they ould pick the server just wondering I wanna make video  games when im older so good to know things like this now xDD

Server is off again. Well that sucks.
Not that it really matters to me, when it was online it wouldn't let me get onto my private maps.

I would like to know what is going on now though.

Wasn't meant to be rude, so apologize if come off that way, was simply spitting out facts.

As can tell from first post, the server is having problems with host. And so least can do is be paitent and wait for it to become fully functional.

As for the private map problem, Red restarted server earlier to fix this, and it had solved problem, for most of us at least, so do not know if this was before or after for you.

You guys need to calm down and realize this is a free game for you to play.

We had some server issues, and as it seems we are still having some and we are trying to sort things out the way we can. You are to expect some downtime non the less. Keep in mind that the server usually runs 24/7 or close to it, restarts only take a few mins when they happen.

We now had the server down not even a day? and now some restarts. It's nothing to get your panties in the bunch for honestly. The next time it goes offline, just sit and wait patiently and it will be back soon no doubt.
