FriskTheRisk's The Lion King Map Pack!
« on: February 10, 2020, 06:17:33 pm »
This is both a downloadable yet WIP map pack I've been working on since last year or so. At first it was posted on DeviantArt however I've decided to post it here as well.

Maps currently finished:
- The Pride Lands (With some of the locations found in TLK and TLK II)
- Pride Rock Cave
- The Lair of the Lion Guard

To-do list:
- Elephant Graveyard (Including the Hyena den and the Volcano)
- Jungle
- Shadowland (Name that will be given to the alternate map with a version of the main map during Scar's reign, of course based on the song with the same name)
- Outlands
- Outsider Den

Pictures:

The Pride Lands (& Sub-Maps)
First and foremost, of course, the main structure throughout the movie(s): The Pride Rock.

Includes the ridge to the rock's left, leading up to the top area of the structure.

Inside the main den (Added a dead wildebeest for post-hunt roleplays:

The rocky area the 'bath scene' of the first movie takes place in - In this version of the map, it is on the rocks to the right of the summit itself.

The entrance to the Lion Guard's Lair (Just in case you guys wanted to roleplay that)..

..And the inside of it

Scar's Den (Had to wing this one, pretty much includes a first 'floor' for the confrontation scene with Mufasa and a second one for the 'it's our little secret' scene).

Rafiki's Tree (Mesh credits at the end of this post)

Rhino Chase Hills (Yes, from the one scene in TLK2)

The Wildebeest Herd & Hyena Hiding Spot:

Inside Mufasa's Gorge:

The cliffs and thorns through which Simba escaped:

The pond Kiara ditches Timon and Pumbaa in prior to meeting Kovu:

The Pride Lands and Outlands border:

Zira's Gorge and the Battle Grounds:

The Water Hole

DISCLAIMER: None of the meshes used in this map are created by me nor do I claim any as my own. I'm listing the custom meshes used in this post, along with their original creators. Since most meshes were downloaded from DeviantART, I'm posting the link to the dA post, but if anyone knows the forum user of the creators/a forum post made by them containing these meshes, let me know!

Oh wow! This is a pretty cool project you got here. I know so many TLK role players would love a thing like this, it even makes me what to get into a TLK themed roleplay! I love the design of the Pride rock especially <3 This is awesome. Can’t wait to see it as it grows and progresses more. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Ooo, thanks! Yeah, as far as the Pride Rock goes my attempt was to avoid using a 'downloaded mesh' for it XD Give the players something new y'know. The rock is basically a compilation of meshes you'd find in the game (Cliffs, mounts/plateaus/etc) while some of them are retextured. I'd think the Pride Lands were the most complicated part as most of the other areas are somewhat vague due to lack of screen time. XD

EDIT: Just noticed one of the images was duplicated. Fixed that and added the proper picture to the slot it was taking.

Thank you! Yeah, I tried to get as much precision as I could into the map and movie scenery (Which is, needless to say, a challenge as the movie scenery tends to kind of lack consistency sometimes XD) though I had to remove a few objects from the movies.. Say, that rock Kovu sleeps in. I didn't add that one on purpose - Most of the shots we have on the rock's summit do not display that anyway.
