I installed feral heart, and i ran malwarebytes,
« on: September 07, 2019, 08:22:31 pm »
Okay So,

Today i decided to install FeralHeart,

I was then talking to my friends on discord until i got a popup window on opera,

I closed it, Then i decided to download malwarebytes, run the scan n stuff,

And guess what?,

Almost 500+ PUP Viruses, And they were all from today.

I got the game from the exact website,

no fakes or anything.

I even ran the game n stuff to play it.

I had to delete FH, after finding this,

The viruses got deleted, but i don't know if its a false positive find of just files, or something with FH.

Any help? I really like the game but i just dont know if i trust it after this.

(Also if this post is in the wrong catagory, you can move it.)

Many antivirus softwares will send out false threats about FH’s installer, but that’s just your antivirus being overly-protective in this case.
Norton is known to hate FeralHeart and give little warnings overall if that's what you use.

Is the computer allowing FeralHeart to connect to the internet?
Games like these needs to be able to connect to the internet, but sometimes Windows doesn't know if the game/application can be trusted or it just skips, adding the game to exceptions. If you aren't able to log on the game, this might be your issue.

Open up your Control Panel, located in the Start menu. Depending on which Operating system you use and which layout, it might look differently. But Windows firewall should be in the category "security," or just find the text, "Windows firewall" or "Allow a program through windows firewall". This should take you to the correct place.

Once there you'll get a new window with a list of programs. Try to locate FeralHeart.exe in there and add it to exceptions by marking the checkbox. If you can't find it, and the game to the list by yourself by pressing "add program."

If you don't understand how to do this still, ask someone else to do this for you.

Sometimes there might be something else blocking the program from accessing the internet. A good example of these are some Antivirus programs. This can vary a lot as well. But check up if by any chance your virus program might be blocking Feralheart. And just not only by clicking the icon in the corner sayings, "nope!" Look in the advanced menus and preferences first. Only you can check this.

If you downloaded the game from the Download tab on this website, it's 100% not a virus. It's false positives from MalwareBytes.

These most likely came from other sources, so I wouldn't call them false positives (malwarebytes is pretty reliable too). FH is 100% virus free. Even the ads here are pretty safe most of the time, if not all.

Best thing you can do to prevent this is to make sure you are downloading apps from trusted sources, be wary of shady websites, and check your computer for random programs often.

Did you have to click on that adfly thing?  Because i don't 100% trust it...
The Japanese concept of wabisabi:
The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?
"Because it was my favourite & I like it"

Okay, It wasn't a false positive buut,

I had another virus on my PC it was actually a chrome extension and i thought it was marking FH as the source but it was actually "trustnav"

yeaaah, I shoulda' known, But i can still run and play the game as normal, The trustnav extension has been removed and there has been nothing detected by FH.

You can lock this Post if you'd like.
