GIMP: What to do if the texture is too big!
« on: October 08, 2016, 03:18:17 pm »
So, while creating a preset I came across a slightly large problem; the texture I download was in fact too big for the normal FH preset. After doing quite a bit of researching I found nothing to help me here and had to go to Google. So, to make things easier for everybody else, I decided to make a little tutorial :D

So, for this tutorial I will be using RainingBloods free texture (link at bottom), and Feral Heart's own preset_2body

As you can see, the image is slightly larger then the regular 512x512

Well, here is the problem with that. When you go to 'select','copy', and 'paste' it for the preset, it looks like this:
Uh oh, doesn't line up!

To make it fit, follow:
First, select 'Image' then 'Scale Image..'

Then, switch whatever number is in here, for this it is 711x711, to 512x512

Then reselect it, copy, then paste it onto the preset. Voila!

Well good lord it was that easy? I could never get them fixed to fit right so I always just avoided anything bigger than 512x512. But you are a lifesaver and for that I thank you! -nuzzle-
