What's going on behind the scenes?
Greetings FeralHeart community!
Before we get into details we'd just like to thank you guys for being so patient. It's been over two years now since we rolled out the last patch and a year since we announced our chosen community map makers. (See here!) (https://feral-heart.com/smf/index.php?topic=59824.msg849373#msg849373) Patch building takes a long time. Before we can do anything we need to look at the issues with the game and consider the community's thoughts and feedback. We tried to achieve a good balance of both of these things and include them in this next patch.
We've spent lots of time running around in the upcoming maps, looking for glitchy areas etc and ensuring that the maps were functional for all members of the community. On top of that we had lots of fun bringing all of our imaginations into the new maps. We planted unique and fun elements into the Feral Lands and we can't wait for you guys to discover them!
Over the course of working on the upcoming patch, staff realized that we weren't fully satisfied with the initial ideas for the patch, and spent weeks figuring out how we could alter things to bring a more complete and satisfactory update to you guys. Although there are many things that we are still planning to include, there have been new ideas that will ensure a strong future for the game, for old and new players alike. We hope to pack in as much as we can for this upcoming patch, but we do realize that not everything will make it in right away, so we appreciate all the understanding that you as a community can give to us. As much as we would like to give you all the content upfront, we want to take our time to make sure everything is in the best shape as possible.
Regardless of staff work on the patch, we invite you all to always post your suggestions in our game opinions and ideas board (https://feral-heart.com/smf/index.php?board=29.0). While we can't guarantee that every idea will be included, we can promise that they will all be read and considered. Who knows, maybe that small thought that's been lurking in the back of your head will spark future patch ideas! So don't be shy to share. We love hearing from the community<3

Keep in mind that alongside the new maps, there are also other elements of the game that are being worked on!
Once again, we appreciate all of the patience we've been given throughout this past year. Although we cannot guarantee a certain release date for the patch yet, we certainly hope this wait will be worth it!

Update: This version of the patch that would have included the old maps built into the old maps was rejected by Raz so it will not happen. This thread will remain public simply for archive sake. We are sorry that we couldn’t give this to you, but we hope you understand <3

I've been playing since I was 9 years old, and from the looks of that sneak peek, It makes me think that you guys might be re-including the old maps,, Genuinely brings tears to my eyes. This game is my childhood and it's amazing to see it develop! I hope we attract more players to liven up the servers to how they used to be. Keep at the good work :))

This is probably the most excited I've been for the next community patch. To bring back the Stone Bridge would mean bringing back old FeralHeart ways, where groups will advertise their groups there and be a huge hangout area. Although a small place, it's removal had a large impact on the community and most of us missed it dearly, especially me because that's when I truly met friends who I'll always hold close to my heart.
I look forward to seeing whether this is a return of Fluorite Plains, or a new version of it.
Also, who's that noob photobombing in the screenshot?! >:c

I am honest to god shocked. I literally thought I was staring straight at Stone Bridge! Totally agreeing with everyone else, finger's crossed for a Fluorite Revamp. I cannot wait to explore these new maps! Just please don't let it be barren as a desert like the old Fluorite.

Took me way to long to recognize that was possibly Fluorite, I was just over here like "oh! a savannah!" until i read the other replies,,
It's good to finally hear an update! There's so much potential in a Fluorite remake. I can't wait to see what else has been planned.

Nostalgia just hit me like a truck, it’s certainly something to see the stone bridge again. I’m really excited to see the direction this game takes, and I’m still so grateful that these updates are possible with the dedication of the team and community!

I just hope that if it is a Fluorite remake, that we get that beloved cave up on the hill by SB back. So mamy memories in that small cave.

Nah, we cannot change the function of that button without the source code ^^ Everything currently shown here is regarding the map making progress

D'aw, thought as much. That's okay xD T'was just a thought. I still do wonder what in the world that button was gonna be for though pff. Cause before this current update, that button previously said something like "Movie Maker" or something. Like it was a area you could easily make fun movie clips or stuff. I dunno, I've just always wondered about it, heh.

AH! OMG! That so looks like FP looking under SB! Please!!! I need it back in my life! It has been the only map I have ever felt comfortable and like home in. (sounds crazy I know). If that lovely babe gets added in with a few touch ups it will be heaven!

I started playing this game at about 10 years old, and i spent all of my time in Flourite, if it gets revamped i will be on literally 24/7 lol. Thank you for working very hard on this patch you're all wonderful staff for this game <3

Same here, Shadow. FP Was my FAVORITE area in FH. It's where I joined my first group, and basically learned the ropes like most others.It's a very dear place to me~

It will come in a patch that will be downloadable. It's a sort of update, I suppose. Maybe more of an add-on.

Yes, you will have to redownload FeralHeart because when the update comes, a new download containing all the updates will be released. I would recommend saving and backing up all the items, markings, textures, animations, and so forth before installing the new update. That way you won't loose them and you can just plop your stuff back into their respective folders and you won't have to hunt for them all! ...provided that they work with the update oop. I'm sure they would, though.
I've already backed up my textures, markings, ext. for the update so I'm all ready for it! I'd suggest just making a separate folder for everything so that you'll always have a copy of the original and the replacements that you desire. Keeping the original just incase you have a need to use it, and you don't have to go looking around for it!

Psh, that'd be funny to watch. Like; "Oh my gosh it's BAACCKK!!!" -everyone runs onto it, hugging the bridge and stroking it, some kissing it- "IT'S BACK GUYS! IT'S BA- wha" -cracking sounds can be heard, some look down onto the bridge and see it cracking. Then, suddenly, it breaks and falls under the weight of so many players. Everyone falls into a giant dog pile, looking awfully confused- "Aww... We broke it =("

Ohmygod, as soon as I saw this thread, my inner younger self lost it. <33 The screenshot almost brought tears to my eyes! So excited for this, and happy that you're all still working to make us players happy! We appreciate it, and I hope FH will get some of its members back, as well as new ones once this patch is out cus it totally deserves some more recognition after these few rough years we've had :}

Wow, these screenshots really take me back! Back in the day, "Stone Bridge" was always so crowded that the game started to lag like CRAZY lol I'm very excited to see the progress on these new maps and I can't wait for the next update :D

I'm not sure what made me pop up and check the forums, (as I'm usually just spending hours in Map Maker without making an progress) but I'm glad I did! This is really exciting! Can't wait to see the out come of the next patches, I'd love to see old members come back but it'd be nice to see a wave of new members as well.

As myself I am quite excited for the patches, I have my fingers crossed that FH will gain more activity with people coming into the game with this update. Sucks to see that lots of people have left since the 2017 update but I really hope that this will help FH live once more like it did back then, I sure miss seeing bunch of people around, along with Flourite if that happens to be the map. <3 Can't wait. Glad I checked this out.
