The grounds at evening USA time on a weekend seems to be the most active.  Some people can be a bit insular at first so you'll have to make an effort at observing, attempting to chat ect but you can go from zero friends to more than you can handle in about 2 weeks.

They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?
