Title: Preset Failed Exporting
Post by: DemonicSoul13 on November 28, 2018, 06:51:06 pm
Edit: Problem was solved and fixed.

Greetings, I made a preset yesterday and the game loads it wonderfully into the preset maker. But it won't export, I keep getting a 'Failed to export preset' everytime I try.

I've looked through many of these help forums for the issue and tried everything, nothing seems to work.
Even my friend got the same error trying it.

Thing is, it uploads just fine without the textures, I look through the files and have them all there, and the coding looks fine.

H-Help?

Preset exports do often fail and/or glitch like that.

Try these solutions:

Solution 1 - Try using different preset folders

Solution 2 - This trick:

//3) Messed up Preset Exporter
So, you are probably lookin' here because issue #1's solution did not work. Well, I'm here to tell you why that reason is.

You have a problem with your exporter. This was proven whenever I managed to export and see someones preset just fine, while when they exported it, no one else could see it.

So far there is not a known fix to the exporter; I'm told that reinstalling does not help.

But what you can do is, send a trusted friend all of your textures and your .material for your preset, and have them go to their log-in, type your username in, then go to the preset maker and export it. This will export it with your username. Now, they will send you the file, and then other people will be able to see it.

The ONLY reason no one else would be able to see it even after this process, is because they have a shot exporter too.

Solution 3 - Alter your username through the User Panel and remove the stop symbols in your username.

Solution 4 - Perhaps try deleting the two folders all together, copy and pasting one of the working folders and re-naming/coding everything according to number?

Check all the image names in the code, and if an image name belongs to an image that is not in the preset's folder, then erase the missing image from the code.

Could you possibly screenshot what's in the preset folder, as well as copy and paste everything in the material file here in a post? So we can have a deeper look?

This issue has been fixed through PM

Issue: They were trying to code the fur in with the preset material, instead of using multiply (or other overlays) in the program they were using to make the preset.

Quote from my messages for prove that the issue has been resolved:

It uploade, oh my goodness I cannot thank you enough!
