It's been a year since the world fell apart. The sky became filled with grey clouds of life-stealing smoke, the sky burned a red, apocalyptic-hue, sending a deathly viel across the land. One by one the population lessened, a disease over ran the earth. Infection spread and life was no more. Or atleast that was thought to be the case..the smoke soon dissipated, the cities, still crumbling and destroyed, parted for the growth of plant life and the little animals that remained. Water and food soon became a luxury, and shelter was a rarity along with any living organism that wasn't infected with the virus. The world was filled with barren patches of earth and hordes of a variety of different biters. That's right, the enemies you must fight to survive, Zombies. Biters, as you call them. The world is falling apart, find a group, fly solo, kill, fight, survive.
List of Biters
Gimps; normal walkers that are most dangerous in groups ranging from four to over a hundred
Crazies; anger-stricken flesh eaters that run at high speeds and attack in small groups of up to three or alone
Sirens; Small biters, mostly children, some of the smartest if their kind. When they find food, they let off a loud siren that attracts others that kill the human for them, while the Siren sneaks in to get it's dinner
Brutes; Populate the over run cities in groups, intelligent enough to use blunt weapons

The young woman watched the sunrise, it's beautiful rays soon being covered by the gray clouds that made the land seem so dead. With a small sigh she got to her feet and brushed the dust of her black shorts and fixed the laces on her black boots. She straightened out her maroon tank top then grabbed her green backpack before moving on. The city was dead, well almost, things lurked in the shadows and walkers roamed the cracked streets, sending any survivors into hiding. Only the brave chose to explore and scavenge. Sarah walked down Main St. her rifle in her hands as she looked for any signs of life or something to eat "I have never been so hungry in my life." she groaned. The girl saw an untouched coffee shop, a rare sight, a few buildings down the block. She quickly ran down the street, still keeping an eye on her surroundings. When she arrived the door was locked but she was quick to break the glass and jump in, still taking extreme caution. She scavenged any food she could find and put them in her bag, she had only managed to find granola bars, she left one out for her to eat. She took a seat on on of the chairs and looked out the window as she ate her granola bar.

Without a word, she kicked the loose piece of concrete, sending it rolling across the cracked street. Pulling her backpack onto her back tighter, she let a soft sigh out. "Could you be any louder?" Naomi whispered harshly towards the large opening in the wall of the department store, the shuffling from inside quickly quieting down. Naomi leaned her back against the brick wall, tapping her foot impatiently. "Okay, got it." Ace stepped out from the hole, tossing a can of food around in his hands. "Finally, Chester!" Naomi turned, whistling towards a group of trees growing through the parted sidewalk on the other side of the street. A bark sounded from the trees as a large husky jogged out into view, padding over towards the two.

Sarah heard a distinct bark, she quickly grabbed her rifle and stepped outside of the coffee shop. She knew most dogs were dangerous since their human caretakers have passed on, leaving them to turn into feral hunters. She followed the sound of the bark until she came to another street, she saw a large husky, he looked well fed and cared for. She placed her rifle on the ground and knelt down and whistled, catching his attention. He trotted over to her and sniffed her extended hand "Hey boy.." she said calmly as she let him get used to her. She slowly placed her hand on his large head and rubbed him "Good boy." it's been too long since she has been able to touch a dog, she missed it. Her attention was on the dog so she didn't notice the two people who were only a few yards away.

Chester rubbes his muzzle against the girl's hand, his tail wagging from side to side. It wasnt long till a makeshift whistle sounded, and Chesters demeanor changed. His ears pinned back, pulling away from the girl as he let a low growl out, his eyes fixed on her. "Hold, Chester!" out from the shadows, stepped Ace, he held Naomi's revolver, as she stayed back in the shadows, watching.

Sarah jumped up and reached for her pistol and aimed it at the dog's head. Then she turned to aim it at a strange boy "I'm not here for any trouble, but if you start something I'll be sure to finish it." She looked at the dog, making sure he wasn't going to attack her, she would hate to have to shoot him. Her blonde hair blew in her face as her brown eyes pierced into him, she slowly put he pistol away and picked up her rifle and slung it over her shoulder. She was small compared to him, but that didn't mean she couldn't defend herself "Why don't we calm down." she raised her hands in a non threatening manner then dropped them to her sides. She looked at the dog again with a brow raised "Chester, eh?" she turned to look at the boy again "Nice name." she smirked "What's yours?"

"Yeah," out from the shadows, Naomi stepped out, her bow in hand, but no arrow, "I'd hate to start a fight,..Chester heel." Chester's ears perked, as he turned, jogging back to Naomi's side, sitting down slowly. "The name's Ace, this is Noami, my sister."

Sarah watched as a girl stepped out with her bow "Hello Katniss." she joked as she watched the husky walk back to them. She brushed her wavy blonde hair away from her face before turning to walk away "Now I know not to shoot you if I ever see you guys again." She did a quick wave "See ya." she came to a stop "Oh, here." she opened her green back pack and threw two granola bars to them "Think of it as...a peace offering." she zipped up her bag and walked down the street. Sarah's brown eyes searching for anything of interest, it was rather quiet today, not even the barking of a feral dog. She had spoken too soon. A low growling came from behind her, she came to a stop and slowly turned around, coming face to face with a feral mixed breed. The dog was probably the size of a pitbull, it had dirty white fur and blue eyes. Sarah slowly backed away but the dog kept coming closer "You must be pretty hungry if you're coming after me." the dog snarled and lunged at her, Sarah instinctively reached for her pistol but when the canine grabbed her left arm it fell to the ground, sending out a bullet. Sarah slammed onto the ground, the dog shook her arm violently, pain shot through her mangled arm as she used her right hand to get the small knife she kept in her boot. She quickly shoved it into his chest, tears streaked her cheeks, the dog fell to the ground..dead. She slowly retrieved her knife and bent to to get her pistol "Sorry.."

Naomi stayed silent, catching the granola bar. Her and Ace exchanged glances before moving on quickly. Chester padded along beside Naomi, his full attention on her. Pausing, he perked his ears and let a low growl out. "Chester, boy, what's wrong?" her eyes traveled up, catching sight of the girl from before. "Crap." she muttered pulling her bag onto her shoulder and jogging over to the girl, "Hey, you okay?" Chester and Ace stayed back a few yards, watching nervously.

Sarah looked a the girl, her name is Naomi, I think. "Yeah. I'm fine." she cradled her injured arm, it looked pretty bad, her flesh was red and tor and blood fell to the ground. She eyes trailed over to ace and Chester before looking at Naomi "It was just a dog." she didn't look at the dog's body, guilt filled her body, she was defending herself but it still felt wrong. She held her wounded arm, she could still move her fingers, which as good, but her arm was in terrible pain. She looked back at Ace, he looked nervous, she raised a brow but shrugged it off.

"Ignore him, he's protective..I hope that dog hasn't eaten any rotten, infected flesh..you could become infected. she said, examining the wound. Chester finally padded over to Naomi, sitting behind her as he watched carefully.

Sarah shook her head "He was hungry, that's why he attacked." she let her look at her arm "I should get going,the infected are going to start coming over because of the gun shot." She turned to walk away and stumbled over a crack in the road, almost falling on her face but she caught herself. She slowly walked down the long road, trying to find a medical center.

Standing up, Naomi nodded a goodbye to the girl before shifting her bag on her shoulder. "Let's move." Ace nodded, picking up his bat and leading the way down the long street.

Sarah saw a medical tent down the block and broke into a run, her long legs easily carrying her. The tent was white with a large red cross on the side, it was tattered and covered in blood and other unspeakable things. The smell coming from inside almost made her vomit, but she held it down then pulled the flap back and entered. There were bodies strewn everywhere, some were medical personnel and some were patients "Oh god..." she gasped. She held her hand up to her mouth and quickly but carefully began to rifle through medical bags and drawers. As she was digging through a drawer a Gimp latched it's slimy rotten hand onto her boot. She let out an ear piercing scream and quickly kicked it in the head before shooting it point blank. She sat there ins hock "Gotta hurry.." she whispered as she threw things around until she found what she was looking for, an unused medical bag. She threw it over her shoulder and ran out of the tent and into an old pet store.
The pet store smelled like rotting flesh and old food, she noticed that there were animal remains in the cages. She placed a hand over her mouth and tried to hold back her tears, she went into the room where they stored the pet food and bandaged her arm. As she put everything back into the bright red bag she heard something shuffling around in the large room. She slowly got to her feet, her pistol in hand, and looked around. She heard what sounded like nails clicking on the tiled floor "A dog?" she asked as she kept looking. She spun around when she heard a small bark, only to see a small black and brown puppy. She put her gun away and knelt down "Oh my gosh, how did you survive? Where is your mother?" This puppy looked young, she must have been born into this hell. The pup waddled right up to her and sniffed her hand, she looked to be a German Shepherd, she couldn't tell if she was mixed with anything else. She carefully scooped her up and cradled her "You want to come with me?" she asked as she nibbled on her thumb "I'll take that as a yes." she giggled as she stood up and exited the pet store. When she got out she was greeted by a horde of Gimps, all looking for something to eat. She pulled out her pistol and ran down the sidewalk, shooting a path for her to get through. She saw a small bank and quickly darted inside, slamming the doors closed and throwing down the steel shutters. She held the pup close to her chest, her eyes locked on the rapidly growing horde just outside the doors.

"All I'm saying is that if you cut off one's arms and legs, it'd be a potato." Ace let a small laugh out, running a hand down his face. "Just shut up," he breathed out, holding a hand out to stop Naomi from walking. Turning her attention forward, they saw it. A large mass of gimps, their moans and growls echoing between the buildings. "Oh god..run!" she yelled as some turned their attention to them.

Sarah began to think that it would have been a god idea to stay with the two people she had met as she watched the gimps pile against the door. She backed up until she bumped into a small table "Oh crap." she breathed ass he quickly balanced the table before it could fall and make a loud noise. She looked out the window and saw two figures running away from the building, gimps following after them, she wanted to yell to them but she knew it would be a bad idea for all of them, so she stayed quiet. She hugged the whimpering puppy to her chest, trying to comfort her "It's okay." she soothed as she rubbed her hand along her small trembling body. Her arm ached as she moved things around so she could find a way out without getting noticed. Finally, after searching for what seemed like hours she found a back door that was barricaded with stools and benches.
She put the puppy in her backpack so she could get around easier, she left a small part unzipped so she could get air. After moving the furniture away from the door she slowly opened it, the rust and dust making her cough "Damn." she coughed as she exited the bank. "Gotta find Ace and Naomi." she said before running down an alley. She was able to sneak past the horde that had crowded around the main door and went in the direction where she saw Ace and Naomi ran to. Ahead of her she saw a medium sized group of infected but she was able to run past them since they were so slow. She ran faster, trying to catch up to them, she was soon right behind them "Follow me!" she ordered as she turned down an alley way. After a few minutes of running they arrived at her safe house "Hurry!" she yelled as she held the heavy steel door open, gimps right on their tail. After they entered she ran in and closed and locked the door. The infected slammed their rotting hands on the door but their effort was pointless. She took in a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. "Welcome to my home." she chuckled as she gently set down her back pack and let the puppy out. She sat on the only couch in the small shelter "This was a safe house that the military made as a checkpoint when they were rescuing survivors." She yawned "I managed to get a key off an infected soldier." She got up "Take a seat." she walked over to the door and peeked through the small hole before facing the two "You can stay as long as you like, but if you ever go out don't leave the door open." She sighed "Unfortunately, when I got here most of the rations were already gone, there was only about a week's left..I have been here for almost a month." She walked over to the small round table and put her weapons down "There is only one bed, it was the only one I managed to find that wasn't covered in blood and remains." She looked at them after she set down her guns "You both can use it if you want, I don't mind the couch." she smiled before giving them granola bars then got out her water bottle and gave some to the dogs.

Ace sat against the wall, as Naomi made herself comfortable on the couch. "Thanks for all this. We could really use some rest." Naomi smiled, taking a quick bite of her granola bar. "Yeah. This is nice. But we gotta get going soon. Sun's going down and I'd rather not spend the night with a stranger, no offence.[/color Naomi rolled her eyes, "Ace, would you just drop your solo act for once and shut up!"she growled, causing Chester to make a soft growling noise, reminding Ace that Chester was Naomi's dog, and would protect her against anything. "Whatever." he growled, standing off the wall and trudging into another part of the safe house.

Sarah looked at Naomi "Is he always like that?" she chuckled as she followed him to another part of the safe house "If I were going to kill you both I would have done it a long time ago." she laughed "And I wouldn't have given you a granola bar." she leaned against the wall "You don't trust me?'' she asked with a raised brow "Us survivors should be working together not killing one another." she looked at the ground "But sometimes they do and you might lose someone important to you.." she sighed then looked back up "You don't have to worry about me is all I'm saying." she pushed herself off the wall and walked back out to the main room.

Ace ignored her as she spoke, busying himself with his hunting knife. "Yes, he is. Ever since the world went to shit he's gotten worse." Naomi replied. "We'll probably leave in the morning, seeing as how if I don't he might leave without me, and..he's family."

Sarah laughed softly "Brothers." she rolled her eyes before sitting on the floor and letting her puppy climb onto her lap. When Naomi mentioned about leaving in the morning she nodded "I understand." she rubbed the pup's belly "Maybe one day we can all be friends, if we ever see each other again." Sarah kept her eyes on the small puppy "If we are still alive.." she mumbled as she began to think of a name for the puppy she found. A few hours passed and Sarah hadn't done too much, she just wanted to relax. Bang! Bang! Bang! Sarah jumped up and ran to the door and peeked into the peephole "Dammit." she growled as she backed away from the door. "Don't open the door, these guys are bandits. They have been trying to get in her for weeks." Sarah cowered on the mattress, she was always afraid they were going to get in, she would stand no chance. She looked at the siblings "I would take them out but they have a whole army." She hugged her knees to her chest and stared at the door. Bang! Bang! Bang!

Ace jumped up, grabbing his pistol from the table. Chester lifted his head from Naomi's lap as she woke up. Chester let a low growl out before Naomi hushed him. Ace motioned for them to be quiet before pressing his back against the wall, holding the gun up, waiting.

Ash ran through the streets of the city, she turned around running backwards as she shot at the group of Gimps. She slipped around buildings and through and alley way. Once she was on the other side of the alleyway, she bolted across the small open space turning around to shoot at the infected group again. She spotted a safe house off in the distance. She shot at the group a few more times and kept running.

Sarah watched Ace lean against the wall with his gun "Don't worry, they can't get in." she got up "They'll give up sooner or later." She rubbed her arms and looked at the door "It's just a little scary is all." she walked up to the door and peeked out through the peephole "There are so many of them this time." Worry spread across her face as she looked at Ace "There usually aren't this many.." she took another step back "What are they doing..?"

Ace's eyes flickered over to Naomi before looking to Sarah. He lowered the gun, pushing off of the wall, catching Sarah's worry. A look of frustration covered his face, "I told you we should have left." he growled towards Naomi before pushing past the two girls and into another room.

Naomi flinched at Ace's harsh words before looking towards the floor. Chester placed his head onto her lap, his ears pinning back. "Excuse him, he's just really protective and sometimes it gets to his head." she stated, her eyes never leaving the floor.

Sarah ignored Naomi, she didn't mean to, and stormed after Ace. Anger burned through her "Hey!" she scowled as she came chest to chest to him "I'm getting little tired of your 'lone wolf' attitude!" she could feel her face bringing red "I know you are just protecting your sister but sometimes the best thing to do is group up with other people." she poked him in the chest with her index finger "The world is a sh*t show right now and the best thing to do is help each other!" She took a step back "You think I trusted you both right away? No! But it's a risk you have to take now." She poked him one last time "This issue you have is going to get you in trouble one day, and you won't have anyone to come save your ass(I hope that doesn't count as a 'bad'word T.T)." She backed away and left the room, slamming the door behind her "I feel better." she huffed before plopping onto the ground and petting the puppy she still hadn't named.

Ace stayed quiet as she spoke, raising a brow as if unamused. Once she stomped out, he reached down, scooping his bag up.

Naomi smiled as Sarah returned, a giggle escaping her lips. Her smile faltered as Ace entered the room, strolling through with his bag over his shoulder. "Naomi, come on. The bandits are gone, we're leaving." Naomi went silent, watching him as he yanked open the door. He stood still waiting. Silently, she stood throwing her bag over her shoulder before turning to Sarah. "Thanks for the food and shelter." she managed a smile before walking out of the door. Ace glanced at. Sarah as Chester ran out after Naomi before shaking his head and closing the door after him."

Sarah gave a wave and sat on the couch and looked at the puppy who had waddled to the door "Do you miss Chester?" she asked before getting up and going to pick her up. The puppy whined quietly as they moved to the couch "I miss Chester too." she giggled as the unnamed pup licked her face "Hmm..Let's call you..Ami." Sarah let the name roll over her tongue "Yeah, Ami sounds right." Sarah jumped when she heard a bang on the door, she didn't bother going to check who it was since she had an idea of who it was. Soon voiced sounded from the other side "Open up Sarah!" She groaned "There's nothing inhere! I told you already!" "We just want to make sure you aren't lying, that's all." She huffed "I haven't lied to for the past fifteen years, why would I lie to you now?" She got up and opened the small slot and peeked out. The group had managed to get an armored Humvee with a mounted machine gun up and running, "We saw two people go in here, where are they now?" Sarah sighed "They left, don't go after them, they don't have anything." She looked at the face of her old friend Charlie "I wish you would just come with us Sarah." She and Charlie had been lifelong friends but they went their separate ways when he decided to join the bandit group "You know I won't." Charlie got closer, his green eyes looking into her's "I can't protect you forever, they'll kill you one day..or worse.." He looked down at the pavement before looking back at her "I can take care of myself..When your best friend leaves you in this hell hole you tend to learn how to survive on your own." She slammed the slot shut and picked up Ami and sitting on the couch again. She could hear Charlie's voice as well as the yells of his comrades about beating the door down. She sighed and laid her head on the back of the couch and closed her eyes.

Naomi remained quiet despite her brother's constant glances. She kept her eyes locked onto Chester, who continued to hop around after leaves that fell about. "The silent treatment?" Ace asked. Naomi closed her eyes, sighing heavily, "Safety, food, I mean..what's your issue Ace? Want to protect me? Stop being an ass and protect me." she growled, stomping past him. Chester sped up, jogging after her. Ace paused, watching as she strolled into the closest building. It was a salon, fallen apart and decaying, but safe.

Sarah didn't flinch when the door was ripped out, they had used the Humvee to tear it down "Sarah?!" Charlie called as he coughed, the wall dust swirling around them. She slowly opened her eyes and peered at him, his black hair was covered in white powder, "I'm here." she sighed as Ami cowered under her arm "Come on." he said as he gently grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet. Sarah pulled her arm away roughly then pulled out her side arm and aimed it a him "Back the F**k off!" Charlie put his hands above his head "Calm down Sarah." "Don't tell me to calm down!" she growled before moving around him and towards the door. "Come on Sarah.." he pleaded but she ran out of the safe house with nothing but her dog and the clothes on her back. Soon the mounted machine gun came to life and began to shot at her "Hey! Stop!" Charlie roared but the bullets kept flying. Sarah ducked behind a wall then made her way down an alley to get away from the group.

Ash kept running. She ran through the streets of the city turning back a few times to shoot at the gimps. She looked around for any safe building to take shelter in. She ran past a wrecked coffee shop. It didn't look safe enough. She stopped outside a beat up salon. Pausing she turned around and shot at the group once more hitting 2 of them in the head. They fell to the ground. She backed up against the door and pulled her foot up kicking it open. She shot at the remaining 2 gimps and pulled the door closed making the bell above the door ring. Turning around she put her back up against the door. Gasping for breath she then looked around. She saw two figures in the salon. A girl with dark brown hair and a boy who had black hair. She blinked. "Oh...Hey." She said awkwardly.

Jayden walked around the wrecked city looking for any sign of food. He stepped into a beat up grocery store and saw a small tower of caned food. He looked around the store making sure it was safe. Opening up the bag he carried with him he shoved 3 of the cans in the bag and headed back out into the streets.

Sarah could still hear the group yelling out orders and commands when she hit another street. She didn't see any infected in the area which was odd. Sarah hid behind a trashcan when she saw someone walk out of the old grocery store. She finally realized she still had her weapons and pulled out her pistol while hugging Ami to her chest. Ami began to yip "Shhh." Sarah whispered as she wrapped her hand around her muzzle.

Ace paced back andfourth as the sound of the horde grew closer from outside. He stood closer to the door than Naomi, just in case. The door slammed open as a girl ran in, shutting it behind her. Ace flicked his gun up, aiming it at her. She turned, announcing herself.

Sarah nodded and rummaged through piles of clothes and debris, only managing to find an old rusty pipe "Nothing here." she sighed before straightening up "Anything?" she asked. She set her backpack down and unzipped it to only see a seeping Ami, she smiled and left the pack on the counter. She walked around until she came to an 'Employees Only' room "Maybe something is n here." she said before trying to open it "I think it's stuck." she grumbled as she used all her strength to yank it open. When it finally opened a Gimp stumbled out, it's jaws snapping at the air as it tried to tear in to her. She screamed as they both fell onto the floor, she held it back with her arm as she reached down with her other hand to get her knife. It kept pushing forward, it's mouth getting closer to her face. Finally, she was able to grab her knife and plunged the blade into it's skull, she pushed it away from her then stumbled to her feet. Her face had blood on it but she didn't really take any notice, she looked at Jayden "I'll check the room." she said as she caught her breath. She walked into the room where the gimp had been and began to search it. luckily, she found some food and water but not much else "This will have to do." she said as she threw a bottled water at Jayden.

"Yeah." she nodded before trying to wipe the blood from her face but only managed to smear it "Ugh." she groaned as she gave up. She carefully grabbed her backpack in a way so that she didn't wake the puppy then put it over her shoulders. She walked over to Jayden and stood next to him "Shall we try the roof?" she asked before looking towards the glass doors and saw it was getting dark. "Maybe we'll be lucky and get to see the stars tonight." she grinned before walking towards the stairwell and going up. When they reached the roof the sun had set and the full moon was rising. She set down her bag and left it open so Ami could come out if she wanted then Sarah sat down and looked at the sky "It's been a long time since I was outside at night." The stars twinkled in the dark night sky and the moon lit the barren city "I'm usually hiding out somewhere." she looked at him then to her bag when Ami decided to show herself. The pup sniffed around before romping around the two, Sarah began to laugh at Ami's antics, when was the laugh time she actually laughed?

Sarah swiftly grabbed Ami as she made her second lap around them "You need to calm down Missy." she giggled. Ami snorted then crawled back into the backpack and curled around one of Sarah's shirts and closed her eyes. Sarah smiled again then got up when she heard an engine "Huh?" she asked as she pushed herself to her feet then walked over to the ledge. She peered down and saw the familiar Humvee with people walking alongside it "Sarah?!" she heard Charlie call. Sarah's hands went up to shield her eyes when a spotlight was shined on her "Up there!" she could hear other men and women speaking to one another. Before she could react one of the men began to fire at her, many bullets missing her but one managed to graze her left arm. She winced in pain then backed away from the ledge and grabbed her backpack "We have to get out of here." she said when she heard them trying to get into the retail store. She held her hand over the wound as she jogged around the roof, looking for a ladder or stairs "Here!" she called to Jayden before climbing down a ladder. The ladder led down to a back alley behind the store "Come on." she jumped down then ran down the alley and across the street. She ran into the grocery store where she had first seen Jayden then closed the doors behind him "So much for a relaxing night." she sighed.

Jayden smiled as Sarah talked to the dog. He looked over the edge as he heard voices coming from below. He quickly grabbed his knives. He dodged some of the bullets as they were shot at them. "C'mon we need to go!" He yelled over the noise of the guns. He followed her to the ladder on the side of the building. He ran with her towards the grocery store. He stopped once he was inside. Looking over at Sarah he saw the blood coming from her left arm. "wow, that doesn't look good." He said as he pointed out the wound. "Are you okay?" He asked her as he opened his bag. He took out a bandanna. "Can I see your arm?" he asked her before taking it in his hand. He wrapped the bandanna around her upper left am where the wound was. A small spot of blood started to bleed into the cloth. "I hope that will help, for now." He said looking around the store.

Sarah sat up "You need to sleep just as much as I do." she crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him "Sleep." she commanded before laying down again. She looked at Jayden once more before rolling onto her side and covering Ami. Her eyes looked at the old counter, dust covered the empty shelves as well as insects. She sighed then closed her eyes and was soon carried away into her dreams. Sarah was running through a forest, she didn't know where she was but all that was going through her mind was to run as fast as she can. She could hear moans and screams coming from behind her as she ran. Sarah came to a stop when she saw a familiar face, it was Dean, her dead boyfriend. His green eyes were sparkling and his lips were pulled into a gentle smile and his arms were open and awaiting a hug. She ran into his arms and embraced him, but her bliss was soon replaced with agony. She felt the flesh from her neck being torn away and when she fell back Dean wasn't the same, he was infected and coming after her. He threw himself on top of her, his teeth sinking into her soft flesh, then she woke up. A small scream erupted from her throat and into the cold air, her cheeks were wet from tears. Sarah was still crying but she was able to stay quiet, she hugged her knees to her chest and buried her face between her arms and continued to cry.

As he Walked closer the figure turned around and smiled at him. It was Ash. He woke to the sound of a quiet scream. Looking over at the counter turned over on his side. "Sarah?" He asked. She could easily recognize Charlie walking alongside it and getting a closer look into stores and buildings.

Evelyn stepped cautiously over the shattered glass in the museum. She had no clue why she had come here, after all this time. It had been nearly a year since her last visit. The food would all be long-gone, picked away by scavengers like herself. There was no further use for weapons; she already had a main weapon and a spare. She normally would've dismissed it as mere nostalgia, but these polluted skies and 'biters' were hardly normal."Then what brought me here?" After quickly glancing around, Evelyn found a small chair that didn't look like it was falling apart and sat down to check her supplies, wondering again about her reasons for coming here.

Sarah watched him leave then pushed open the front door but stopped when Ami jumped from her arms and followed Jayden "Ami!" she called before jogging after her. When she pushed open the back door Ami nor Jayden were anywhere in sight but she did catch the attention of a group of three Crazies "Oh crap.." she choked out as she pulled out her pistol and shot one of them down. She didn't get a chance to kill the other two before they screeched and ran after her. Sarah felt a scream rise from her throat but she didn't want to attract anymore attention and stayed quiet. Suddenly, a Gimp jumped from the shadows and grabbed her by her backpack. She couldn't keep the scream down any longer, she let out a shrill scream as she let the bag slip off of her shoulders along with flannel sweater. She ran down the deserted street with the two crazies hot on her heels.

Jayden was half way down the street when he heard a dog barking. Turning around he spotted Ami behind him. He kneeled down as the puppy stopped in front of him. "Hey girl, what are you doing here?" He asked the dog. He gently pet her head. "Shouldn't you be with Sarah?" he asked. The dog barked and ran in a circle. Jayden frowned. Then he heard a gunshot and a scream. He looked up then down again and gently but quickly grabbed the dog and put her in his bag letting her head pop out a bit. He ran in the direction of the scream. He grabbed his two knives out of this belt and approached the scene. He saw Sarah running away from a group of the infected. He twirled his knives in his hand and ran after them. As he got closer to the two crazies, he flung his knife at one of them, it hit it in the back of the head and it fell to the ground. He yanked the knife out of its head and ran after Sarah and the other crazy.

Sarah spun around, prepared to shoot down the crazy but it was already on top of her. She was able to hold it back with her forearm long enough to get the knife in her boot. Without hesitation she plunged the steel blade into it's skull multiple times. She threw it off of her and leaned over it, still stabbing it's skull. Anger and fear flooded her mind as the blade met with it's head. She didn't know how many times she had stabbed it, she had lost count. Finally, she backed away and leaned against the brick building just a few feet away. She held the weapon close to her as her eyes were still wide with terror. When Jayden came into view she looked up at him before wrapping him in a friendly hug. She didn't know why she did this, maybe ti was the sight of a friendly face. When her arms reached his back something behind Jayden licked her finger "Huh?" she asked as she let him go and spun him around. Inside his bag sat an eager Ami "Ami!" she said as she picked her up "Please don't run off again.." she said as she hugged the pup.

Jayden ran up to Sarah as he saw her get up. "Are you o-" He was cut off as she pulled him into a hug. He smiled a bit. He then began to laugh as Sarah turned him around and pick Ami out from his bag. Turning around he looked at Sarah as she snuggled with the dog.

Sarah looked at Jayden, maybe they should stay together since it was safer that way. She smiled "Maybe it's best if we just stick together." she tucked Ami under her arm then jogged down the street to retrieve her sweater and bag. Her lightly tanned arms were covered in goosebumps and the hair on them stood up, she shivered then quickly put her sweater on, not that it helped. She put a tried Ami in her backpack then rubbed her arms "We should find a warm place for the night." she knew finding some place warm might be impossible, unless they found a safe house, but a place that covered them from the cold wind would be nice.
