Having Trouble Downloading A Map I Used to Have
« on: March 14, 2019, 09:39:33 pm »
The map for my roleplay is Forgotten Desert and every time I have tried to re-download it (I haven't been on in a while and I'm a little rusty), I cant get it to show up in Cape. I would really like to reboot my roleplay but I can't do so without the map. It doesn't have that many files and I followed all of the instructions. I think I am missing a step but I don't know what. Please Help!!

Make sure the .fhm file is included and is in exports. That's the actual map file itself that makes it show up. ^^

Also make sure you're looking really hard in cape. Unless you have a mod, the default portals are very faint and hard to see sometimes!

Custom/Private Map Portals - Improved (by Bawfle)

It may be that the vanilla portal textures are nearly transparent and you're not seeing the portal.
The custom/private map portals are located behind the ring and crystal "wall".

It could be that you may just not be seeing the portal, even if it is there. The first portal is hidden by a wall of the ground so it may not be immediately visible.

However, if the install did go wrong somewhere, here's a simple guide to help: https://feral-heart.com/smf/index.php?topic=62108.0
and a few images to show where things are:

--Oof late but it may still help. xD
For the sake of my own health and interests, I've left FH and I won't be looking back.
