I've noticed that there's a lot of different types of usernames across the forum and in-game, and I thought it would be interesting for everyone to share their username(s), why you chose them, what they mean to you, and even how to pronounce them.
VERY LONG HISTORY OF MY 800 USERNAMES:
Personally, I've gone through... A LOT of username changes xD But hey, no harm in that. Everyone's interests and opinions change as they age. I like having usernames that are unique, relate to me right now, and... well, aren't embarrassing.
My first username was greenart6. Way back when I was playing Webkinz. Man, that game was fun when I was younger, I miss it I chose the word 'green' because... well, I liked the color green. 'Art' because I liked to draw and do art and was just obsessed with all of that. And the number 6 because I was 6 years old when I made that username on Webkinz. That username stuck and I ended up using it for my first Feralheart account years later in late 2012.
Later, I moved onto the username Devynex, since 'Devyn' is my name and the 'ex' made it sound COOL. That username stuck for a long time until I made a character named Turtle and decided to switch my name to Turtlex, sometimes spelled as Tyrtlex if that username was taken on different websites. I'm still mostly known as Turtlex or Turtle to this day, even though I try not to use that username anymore.
For a short time last year I switched to NegativeTen, since it sounded like a cool and edgy username and also because I'm incredibly negative and pessimistic myself. I didn't stick with it for long. It was way too negative right off the bat and I didn't really like being known as that.
Now I go as TheGhostlyGoat, and I'm pretty satisfied with this username for the time being. I like ghosts and its spoooooky. The goat part is because I like goats, and the username isn't hard to pronounce or anything and flows together alright. It's kinda a cute sounding username, so I'm hoping I won't decide to switch to something else in like a week.

Well chose this username because I like the color of fire, and the element and for boss, I just randomly putted that word in there because I thought it would look cool, and it fitted my name more. I never change my username because I like this name a lot, and it's more easier to remember.

Well, my go-to username has always been 'babystrit'. The reason for that is a family thing. My sister has midlstrit, my bro has lilstrit, my mom has auntstrit, and my dad has unclestrit. So yeah. A family thing.
I then started using FireWolf197. The story behind that was... Well, I got WolfQuest and wanted a cooler name than babystrit. I was at first going to go for WaterWolf, but then was like "Nah, FireWolf sounds cooler!" and yeah.
I then started using SSFireWolf cause I wanted a name that didn't end with numbers and slapped 'SS' at the beginning of FireWolf, therefore creating "SSFireWolf'. I realized like, a long time later that it sounded like a boat, hah.
And yeah, that's how I came up with these three usernames of mine. Nice topic, by the way <3

Vomitory and VomitoryObake - Current usernames on FH and IT...and Deviantart. I just like the name
Vomitory and Obake because Yokai
Also My deviantart name (cant say it) - it was my old band name

My username NommyShark really is just there to represent my love for sharks. Not only that, but also the fact that sharks eat things, so I made the simplest decision to put 'Nommy' infront of it. Shurtle, on the other hand, as you can see it from my current Display Name, is just to show off the name of my OC. c:

I chose the username 'Baabaa' because I like sheep! heh. I've gone by that name since about 2013, but I've only recently come to Feralheart using this name!

Well, my original username for this game, LizTheLycan from 2013, was just my name, combined with lycan, because edgy werewolf phase.
Then I came up with TwistedLizard, a name I still use for most things (too lazy to change), because again, edgy, matched my sick, sick sense of humor, and hey, lizards are cool and sound like my name.
Scuttlefeet was originally a joke from League of Legends, because I would always be tryin' t'kill the Scuttlecrab while everyone else was goin' for dragons, so I made it my username there, and it became what I was known as from that point on. Later I changed my main character to Scuttle, and it sticked. The name is taken sometimes though, and I'll use Scuttlepaws or Scuttlebutt.

My first FeralHeart account was Frostedsnow, mostly because it was my Warrior Cat name I came up with. Very cringy to be honest. xD
My second one was Cosmic-Wolf because I have a love for the Cosmos and wolves.
This one I called ArcticGalaxy because I've kinda always been fascinated by the Arctic. I don't like the cold very much, but snow is just gorgeous and of course the Galaxy part for my love of everything space!

Honestly, most of my past usernames up until now have just been random things that popped into my head and sounded cool. For example, Cyros, Redustrial, etc etc etc.
But for my current username, BradiBytes, I just settled with that because my OC is named Bradi and I wanted another word that started with a B to follow after that. 'Bytes' just came to me and boom. BradiBytes.

In game I'm borborigmus which is borborygmus misspelled with an 'I'. Borborygmus is a word used to describe the gurgling noises that intestines make because of the movement of fluid and gas. I used it because my stomach will always remind me of my username if I ever forget it.
I use the display name of Telluris, originally used to be easier to type compared to borborigmus. I got the name Telluris from a certain Bionicle character (http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Telluris) that goes by that name, since I found him to be quite interesting, even though I would find Nuparu, Nuju, or Matoro better. Unknowingly, Telluris means 'Earth' if translated from Latin.
Telly was then a shortened term for Telluris, now I stick with Telly as being my internet persona, and I would use it as my first option on any website if not taken.
Tellyphone, I use that as a display name for any communications software, such as Skype or Razer Comms.
I used FrostKrabben or <noun>Krabben as an alternative username for the games I play. Frost originally derived from my favorite warframe (http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Frost), an ice elemental defense/crowd Warframe, but it can be replaced with whatever word I'd like. 'Krabben' the Dutch plural for crab, since I like crustaceans.
I use SenselessViolins as a username for any miscellaneous accounts, such as an image hosting site. Based on Sparks' album 'Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins' Which is one of my favourite Sparks albums if only it wasn't compared to 'Propaganda' or 'Exotic Creatures of The Deep'
I would probably have more usernames based on album names or musical references in the future.
Plus, I use my real name for more formal accounts such as mail.

My username is pretty old now, but I've used it all over the place since starting here. But when I made my account originally I just wanted something catchy that carried my already existing nickname, but Tai being only three letters sounded to simple on its own.. So I mixed it in with the name of a drink I liked at the time that you can get here in the UK called Tizer, This -> http://tizer.co.uk/assets/images/bottles.png (http://tizer.co.uk/assets/images/bottles.png) and I've always liked how it sounded, so I have never really wanted to use anything else as my main username.
I do have a side account though which goes by the name of a fictional character I like, but its not as meaningful to me as Taizer is.

One, my name is Raven. So there's the Raven part of RaventheVerewolf.
Two, my friends and I have a joke because we once RPed as mythical things and I made up the verewolf. A vampire than can shift into a wolf. SO, RaventheVerewolf has been a name I've been using recently

My username came from two old characters I had, Kylonis, and Vuu. I kinda smooshed their names together cause I really liked the sound of both, and boom, came up with Kynvuu. Not much a history behind it or deep meaning xD

Usernames, wow. I haven't actually gone through too many. The first I'd ever had had something to do with owls, and I made it when I was six, haha. I don't really remember it too well, maybe it was "nightowl," but honestly I have no idea. Perhaps I just liked owls at the time, I don't really remember why I chose that username.
The first username I clearly remember using on multiple websites was "katemaxo12". I made it when I was maybe eight/nine, and was mad when I tried making an email with it because my usual password for it was too short. "kate" was a nickname for my name, the "maxo" part literally came out of nowhere, and "12" had been my locker number year after year, so it became my favourite number.
A little while later, I came up with a new username, the one I signed up for FH with-- "narwalpanda54321". At the time, the Narwhal Song had been one of my favourites, maybe it had recently come out, I don't really remember. Anyways, I couldn't spell "narwhal" correctly for the life of me, and consistently left out the H. Of course, who doesn't love pandas? So that also go thrown in. The countdown from five is, yet again, a concept that came out of nowhere. Don't question the fourth-grader logic, dude! Some spin-off usernames I've used have been "narwalpanda", when "narwalpanda54321" is too long; "NarwhalQueen" because idk; and sometimes just simply "Narwhal".
Another username I've signed up with is "Maggie727". Maggie is simply the name of my cat. The "727" didn't entirely come out of nowhere, as my friend had put it at the end of multiple usernames, and I kindly borrowed the idea. Another username I've used in the past is "lilliana1289." The "lilliana" element came from me really wishing I had that name, and "1289" came from my favourite two numbers, twelve and eighty-nine. Perhaps I should change it to "lilliana1269" for the future. Huehuehue.
Another username I've used once or twice is "~Trixx~". It has nothing to do with the old troll Trixx, I swear. (Although, we were good friends for quite some time.) It's my FH second account, and I've also signed up for sites using the spin-off "Trixx1289."
Sooo, yeah. Look for me as these usernames, haha! Except for the oldest ones, "katemaxo12" and that owl one. The sites I used them for are probably dead, and I never sign up with those usernames. Though, I could come up with a new owl one. . .

My username doesn't mean SO much. "Shandra" came because I had to select a name for my character in a horse game (Alicia Online, if someone is curious), I REALLY like everything related to the night sky so I ended up searching the word "Moon" in other languages, and Chandra (Moon in Sanskrit) came up, but I "stylized" it a bit changing the C for an S (in Hinduism, Chandra (Sanskrit: ??????, IAST: Candra, lit. "shining") is a lunar god and a Graha. I just discovered it today o.O)
"_AO" came because these are the initials for Alicia Online (genius) and the "_" is just because the forum don't let you have spaces in your username (at least I can't).
And yeah, I have a LOT of usernames in other forums/games/pages. For example in dA is "La-Loba-Salvaje", translated from Spanish is "The-Wild-Shewolf" (I think, I'm still learning English), and a lot more~

when I was younger I loved to stargaze, and I really wanted to see the northern lights in person, so "Aura Sky" is another term for Northern Lights, so now its my persona's name, and 20 is my lucky number, because I was born on the 20th of the month.

My username was made up when I was in early high school with me and a friend signing up for a anime website. We had to come up with usernames at that time and the only thing I thought of was Youshallfearme or Youshallfearme2. It stuck with me ever since, from youtube, here, Deviant....and from that username my nickname Fear or Feareh came about which is my first official online name if anything. It really doesn't mean much to me considering how and why I came up with this username back in high school, but its whatever now XD I come to just love and accept my weird derpy name.

My Username , Reccewolf dates back all the way in 2009 on another website. My friend- who was my main fursona, Recce's mom gave me the name. I couldn't come up with a name, so that stayed. Not only that but its not like Reess, its like a Reese cup. Thats how its pronounced. So ever since then that has been my exact user name.

My username 'Nutmeg Toboe' is pretty old. Nutmeg was the name of my pet rat that passed a while back. I adored her. Toboe is from Wolf's Rain because I'm trash.
My newer username 'Capn-Sy' was made up a while back... I just chose not to use it for some reason. I love pirates so that's where the 'Capn' came from and Sy is short for my fursona's name Syrus.

I chose BladeDawns because 11-year old me thought it was cool at the time. x'D Thanks to that Blade has become a sort of trademark name of mine on the internet and sometimes in real life too, since I've become so accustomed to it I actually do respond to it like I would to my actual name (look what you guys did to me jfc). If I had the choice to change my username I'd probably change it to Audr or Wiccskul. Audr is a shortened form of my real name and Wiccskul is "Wicca" and "skull" combined together into a mess, since I am a wiccan and I have a fascination with taxidermy- mostly skulls.

amythealpha: My main and first FH account. The name makes me feel strong ((Also I had an obsession with the movie Alpha and Omega at the time))
Amythenightwatch: I was obsessed with FNAF at the time. I still use it because now, instead of thinking of 'Night Watch' as a security guard or something, I think of it like watching the stars.
HummingKitten: My DA name. The nickname of my current fursona.
wolfluvforever: My crappy, old WQ username. I also use this name on the WQ forums. I hate this username honestly, somehow I thought it was a cool name a few years ago.

I've had a lot of aliases on the Internet over the years. This one, Earyn, was one I made up when I was 12 because I had an owl OC to name. I took Nyra from the Ga'hoole series, reserved it, and then put an E at the beginning. I used Earyn for the longest time until a few months ago, I started using Nephrite because "Earyn" just didn't make sense to me any more. xD
But before that, I used Tigersmoke. I was obsessed with Warriors and I thought the -smoke ending was unique but honestly Tigersmoke is such a weird combination
And after that, I used Keinherz, because I went through my "edgy" phase and I thought that was cool... oh boy

carmilla was created simply for my own satisfaction to take the name oops dont yell (not very much into that fandom anymore idk)
paroxysm. my latest & final name only came to me bc i was envious of my friends super neat user & i was looking up synonyms for it and i found 'paroxysm' which actually describes my personality

My last users were eh to me so I'm not going to state them.
However my main user now, [Vengeance], expresses my feelings about some people I have encountered in the past and still encounter again today. Anyhow a thing about my username since "Vengeance" means the desire of revenge, I'm usually the opposite of that. I do feel the utmost anger for some that I've met that have caused harsh problems in my life, but I do not act against them. I usually feel sorrow for them. But that doesn't mean I can forgive them either. I just don't want to fight them. I usually try my best to avoid them despite the fact that I wish I could forgive.
So it's like I'm showing one thing but I'm really meaning the opposite. If that makes sense.

My username means alot to me. Before I joined feralheart I was part of a drawing website called Iscribble. On there my username came to be because of a friend nicknamed me Recce and Recce was my very first Fursona to ever come to be. So I have kept that username ever since then. It holds a special place in my heart and I would never change it.

This username was actually a inside joke that I made with some friends and I guess it's the name of my account. So that's how that happened.
Otherwise, I have a long and complicated history about my millions of usernames but I normally now go by Bard-Hart on social media stuffles.

Well, I saw a player in another game with the nickname "Eviltwist". I kinda like it and tried to experiment with it.
Then, I came up with so many random nicknames but the word "moon" was just as glued to me. And this is how I came up with "Moontwist".
To this day, I am still so obsessed with it.

My username is based on a fictional character from The Sight. It doesn't mean a lot to me, but i'm the only person on the game with this name so it's recognizable to people. The book is great and so is Morgra's character, so I guess i'm glad to have it :)

My first user, ~Alpine~, I chose it because I just thought "Alpine" was a beautiful word.
Later that beauty started to die out. Then I changed it to Vanillabean.
Why?
I changed it to Vanillabean because I just love the smell of French Vanilla and "Bean" is just a cute word. Another reason is laced with it.
I thought of changing it to Cocobean, because I liked to call my little chiweenie, Coco, Cocobean, and the word is just adorable in my world.
But then it said "Username already taken." ;P
