Game Help / ALSO FIXED, PLEASE LOCK
« on: September 21, 2019, 02:08:28 am »
I'm really sorry about this but I don't understand exactly what I've done.

I've been working on a map for months, pre source code update actually, so I've been working on it in an older version of the game. I settled on being done with it more or less tonight, and went to test the exported map in the latest version, only for half or so of the objects to be missing.

I've read that you can't add to the object groups that the game comes with, but it's objects that show up in one place, but not another? Almost as if it's based on time rather than the object/object group as a whole?

I'm sorry if this is scattered or something, I'm just annoyed about this, but I have some screenshots to show what I'm saying, and I'm willing to do something like screenshare on Discord.

This is testing the map in the old version. I have a stone arch with flowers around it (plus a tree a bit off to the side which also doesn't show up)

In the latest version and on the actual exported map on the server though, there's nothing, and all the flowers and glow were simply retextures of objects that come with the game, but saved to another object group. I also put at least the flower texture in the my_objects folder, as well as the object group that it's in in the objects folder.

But, in the latest version, the exact same object is here in another part.

Here is the old version test screenshot as well.

There are rocks, trees, etc missing too. I can send more comparisons if needed, or as I said earlier, screenshare.

Sorry if I just missed something or did something wrong and I'm just dumb. >.<

EDIT: This was actually caused from having an older version of the map in the Terrains folder, like when your making your own map. Since I was moving it from version/game file A to version/game file B to continue editing it sometime in the past, even though it didn't work out as I thought it would, I still kept the folders. After deleting them, it started showing the newly added objects and stopped a crashing problem and duplicate portal/map issue.

In short, check if your map's files in the Terrains folder is properly updated or delete them.

Game Help / Multiple Models in Blender
« on: September 18, 2019, 11:48:25 pm »
I can't stand using Blender and it's darn confusing. I was wondering if there is a way to easily join all meshes/objects without messing up the textures? It might be easier to show what I'm doing and my problem.

The basic, untextured models. You can see on the right side menu that they're all separate objects.

By selecting one and going into texture paint mode, it shows up fine, but I'd have to save each and every model as it's own mesh. Not bad if it's maybe 2-3 meshes, but 10? 20? 30? It gets tedious assigning everything.

But when I join everything together, it does this. I guess it's got the color a bit, but it looks nothing like the wood before.

Is there an easier way of doing this? It's made me so discouraged when making big things, like how I was hoping to do the Zelda OOT maps, but it's just so darn annoying.

Request/Find Meshes / This is gonna sound odd... Math Blasters?
« on: September 18, 2019, 05:16:18 pm »
Let me explain- There were these pets (I think called Mutts) you could adopt and raise and eventually send off to two different planets. These planets though were actually pretty good, I had a favorite out of the two but if anyone could perhaps link a website where I could maybe find the models to these planets' meshes, I think they'd make for some awesome maps with a lot of RP potential. I'd be up to recreate them either way, but having the original models would be cool.

There's "Planet Blizzard and Planet Avatarus"

A really good overall preview of Planet Blizzard.

I forgot about those weird face thingies but inside one of the caves.

Planet Avatarus, it is actually my favorite of the two.

I know it's a very odd request perhaps, but it's not just out of nostalgia, I actually really like these maps. For a kids learning game, I gotta admit I still really enjoy them, heh. Thank you for reading my rambling, I understand there's a low chance of actually finding these, but I figured I'd ask.

Game Discussion / Always in Roleplay?
« on: September 18, 2019, 08:08:28 am »
I'm just curious, but how do people feel about always being in roleplay for a character? Would it seem weird to reply as if your character were talking in any conversation, or would you rather just spend time on a character and think nothing of it?

There are times given I can never stay consistent in a group and feel pressured with individuals that I'd like to just hop on as a character I feel in the mood for and respond, talk, and act as said character would. Not all the time maybe, but at least half knowing me.

I know there was the "Feral-Heart Day Of Roleplay" or something along those lines kind of events that went on that were I think exactly like I described just above, but not all the time, and I missed the only one I remember finding the date for.

I also see a lot of people use the )) to signify being out of character, when there is seemingly no active roleplay around in the public chat, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Maybe it's just second nature to put that in normal posts?

Sorry for the oddly phrased and scattered question, but I'm curious if anyone else does this and how I guess accepted it would be to do?

Characters / This Pulsu and he exists
« on: September 08, 2019, 08:49:12 am »
So a while back I made this little dude and drew a sketch for him a good few months ago, but decided to make a digital colored reference recently.

Please note this is mostly a comedy character of sorts? I didn't put too much thought in him, he's not for serious use. That doesn't limit him, but all I'm wanting to say is he's not supposed to be logical and have every single part of him thought out to an extreme. It's just a silly little thing I came up with one day and expanded on in a different way than I thought I would when I very first made him. Sorry if you were expecting something in depth and super unique or special, he's pretty much just for fun. Thank you for understanding.

In Game Character

Full

Line Only (because it looks better honestly)

Then here's a version I haven't digitalized yet without his mask.

Okay done with the images about the little guy-

I didn't wanna bother with a whole custom species page since he was the only one I have nor is his species in an open RP group- or any RP for that matter. It's not super well thought out anyway and he probably works just as well as simple a character alone.

Pulsu is a childish but curious creature that roams around various locations, mostly observing the people and situations he finds. He's curious, but can become quickly bored if not finding just the right place.

His age is a bit of a mystery given aging for him is different, though most would probably describe him as a young kid, 7-8 years old. In reality, he's probably about 25 human years old. He's just immature as heck compared to humans of that age. He's 2.3 ft tall, 21 lb.

He enjoys eating, even more when he's bored, and is likely to eat things usually deemed inedible. He has the ability to fly, but at some point just became too heavy to, nor are his wings fully grown in. He has tiny talon like hand sort of things at the end of each wing, giving him the ability to grasp onto things.

The tips of most of his feathers, especially the larger ones along the back of his head and wings, glow a neon blue, seen best at night. His overall body feathers have these tips too, though it's much less vibrant and noticeable. His legs and neck "fluff" is fur though, being a less neon but still somewhat bright blue. His feet are paws rather than talons like his "hands."

Okey now that the general bio of sorts is done I might as well list some random things in the style of a tag yourself meme because I describe people better that way.

Ate a lady's pillow once out of nowhere. Or at least half of it.
Screamed for 30 minutes at a tree for scaring him with a falling leaf.
Accidentally made a kid think it was okay to eat the stick of a lollipop.
Will stay awake for 3 days straight but then pass out and sleep for a solid day and a half.
The skull mask probably isn't even real he just found it in a costume store but didn't know and still tries to convince people to this day it's from some huge beast.
At least 30% birb and at least 20% glowing fluff slime.
Randomly gives people things he finds in trash cans, sometimes things the person threw out just to confuse them.
Stole bread from a pigeon being fed by "The Old Lady On The Bench In The Park" kind of person once.
Oddly relates to eggs?
Can and will sneak and climb into crane games, popcorn machines, and other various similar things.
Got locked in a bakery by "mistake" once.

Thank you for reading the stuff that went through my mind at 4 AM

Game Suggestions & Ideas / In-Game Preset Designer
« on: July 26, 2019, 07:32:45 pm »
So I know a lot of the reason this would be a thing is for the people out there like me who have no clue how to make a decent looking preset, but I thought I'd give a little idea on something that could help people when making presets.

See that little button that says "Maker" in the menu? That's what could take you to this window:

1: A live display of your character just like when in the character creator/normal preset maker where you can turn, zoom, etc. You can draw on the character, making it easier to find and get the right placement on the model.
2: A display of the preset textures, which can be also be directly drawn on.
3: Just like the other colour settings when making a character normally, this will change the brush's color.
4: Size is self explanatory, and hardness is how soft/fuzzy/faded the brush is.
5: Show the UV Map reference on both the character and the texture.
6: (Sorry I didn't make a window image for this) A place where you could add scripts and special effects like scrolling, outline, change the shading, glow, etc. Also, maybe you could apply fur (or any other material your character has) textures there, being able to import different ones if you have others downloaded.

Sorry it's a bit messy, but it was to only explain what I had in mind. In short, the idea is the ability to draw directly on the character so that you could see just what you're doing and where.

Thank ye for reading!

Game Help / 1.16 Maps' Terrain Height Maps?
« on: July 22, 2019, 03:20:33 am »
I wanted to make a map (like a guide map, not Feral-Heart's map) by placing the height maps together (and probably editing the size but I'll deal with that later) so that I could mark certain areas possibly for a roleplay. I know there are map guides, but I'm talking about a full, pieced together image of either the height maps or if I could find perfect top down images that display everything, but I don't want to be off on placement or have everything look foggy from the distance.

Thing is, I can't actually find the images anywhere. Would it be alright if someone sent them to me or something? Is it okay? I wouldn't use it for my own Feral-Heart map's height map, just for a personal-use guide kind of map.

Introduction / Here Since 2014 But Never Made an Intro Whoops
« on: July 21, 2019, 12:33:48 am »
Henlo there. I've been around since February 22, 2014 and even on the forums, but as far as I remember or could find, I never made an intro, so I processed the fact I hadn't and decided to do one.

I'm Angelica, Angel, Birb, just about whatever you throw at me. I'm female, live in Louisville Kentucky, a Christian, own 3 birds and 2 fish, and have no concept of human time so I'm a nightowl. I'm INTP last time I checked, but border on INFP sometimes too.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I found out about Feral-Heart through a suggested video on YouTube while watching WolfQuest stuff. Back then, I didn't even know you could come back up the waterfall in Ficho, had a ton of characters' home set to Sky's Rim, and was probably that one "drowning dramatic pup" kinda roleplayer.

Since then, I've learn how to edit and make a lot of the media in the game. It started with height maps and masks, and now I've imported various 3D models to use as objects. Tedious, but rewarding.

I don't actually roleplay much anymore, never did to begin with. I liked coming up with ideas, but never got very far. Now I just sit around and do the above and mess with the files.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

My general interests or things I like change often. I'm currently obsessed with Death Note, but also like Undertale/Deltarune, Oneshot, I'm back and forth with Steven Universe though I like it when it's good, and anything I feel in the mood for really.

Sometimes I like needle felting, taking photos (mostly of flowers), cooking (not baking as much) when I don't mess it up (though that's usually the case), and I have a drawing tablet so sometimes drawing?
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

That's about the most I can think of without going into weird, irrelevant subjects. I have an ask me here if you'd like to know more about me.

Thank ye for readin' everything. Sorry it was probably pretty long and boring but now you know what I do and who I am.

Welcome traveler. You've stumbled upon a strange, dark, but glowing plant filled cave, holding many mysteries inside it... Care to explore?

I don't really remember when I started working on this, but it's been a while. I continued it after a break recently and now it's fairly close? I don't know when I'd release the download but it's being made in the old version so it might be a bit tricky, but I'll release it at some point. Thank ye for viewin' the few images I have up. ^v^
