Title: The new Cartoonnetwork Series
Post by: RavenShai on March 23, 2011, 04:17:45 am
Okay, no matter how old we get we still have our own little favorite cartoon shows. Mine was, and still is, 'Courage the Cowardly Dog'! Well, I know some of you out there, like me, remember the shows we watched(and may still watch) on Cartoonnetwork, like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Camp Lazlo, Dexter's Labratory, ect.

Well, they have now officially ruined Cartoonnetwork, at least in my opinion. They have gotten rid of the old shows, and replaced them with horrible ones. I think this began somewhere when 'Chowder' became a show. It wasn't so bad at first but it began to get worse. How are these shows bad? Well, mostly they have made them 'disgusting', thinking it would be funny but really its just disturbing. Also, in some of the newer ones, they have made the Cartoonnetwork characters use inappropriate words, like 'sucks'. Thats the worse I've heard so far, thankfully, but I'm worried they may add in more. I use this word myself and have heard others use it, and I don't really care. However, kids around the age of five watch Cartoonnetwork. Hearing a word like that from their cartoon friends and they'll think its fine to say it. Soon you'll have a little child drinking his/her little juice box and then hear them say, "This juice sucks!" Yeah, not so adorable.

I like some of the shows, like 'Total Drama Island', 'Adventure Time', and such, but I really think they should be moved to a different channel, or something.

Anyone else agree? >. >

*Rolls on floor puking head off*

Seriously, some of the stuff they have on CN now really stinks. I think it went down hill after they removed adult swim and that other thing with the robot thing hosting or whatever. I miss all the old shows, they were hilarious.
In all honesty, they could be just as disgusting as todays shows, but they did ity better! They didn't go too far, they knew when the timing was right, and they weren't disgusting to be disgusting, but a disgusting sort of funny that hit all the right spots!
Shows have just gone downhill....

(I only watched the adult swim session for the night filled with anime, but now that adult swim moved to the comedy chanel they don't do the anime mania night thing any more... BOO!)

I know right? Dx I watched adult swim as well. But when they did disgusting, they did disgusting well! You know what I think the problem is? Or at least one of them? They're trying to hard to to make the newer shows funny.

I also think they highered some high struck teen to take over CN.

CN  shows nothing but crappy shows now a days. The only thing I'll watch is the old classics and Adult Swim.

Cartoon Network, you have failed...epically.

Agreed -_- I'm just thankful that Courage the Cowardly Dog is still coming on O_O

The worse thing that happened though was when they canceled all of my saturday night cartoons DX It was when they aired Naruto, Bo-bo, Zach Bell, and so on. I always looked forward to them and loved to watch them but then they began to cancel them one by one, till only Naruto was left, and then they just stopped showing them completely x_x It was my anime paradise! Dx

Oh gosh. I could go on forever about this. I miss the old CN. </3 Now it's just filled with horrid bad TV shows that are weird and gross and should never have been aired. Run on much? Oh well. It was needed.
But yeah, I miss the shows like Foster, Camp Lazlo, Courage (still on somtimes though), Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy, etc. Those were the good shows. D:

Adult swim is still on CN. xD It starts at 9pm every weeknight. Not sure if it's the same though as before. Never watched it when I was younger.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one thinking this xD Thanks for the support guys!

I remember once talking to a friend about this, and he actual considered about sewing the CN company for this. I was too actually xD But ya know, it was all really just talk. But still, I wish we could get them to show the classics again, or at least air better shows -_-

Adult swim is still on? I've never seen it on, but I do know that they have different programing for different areas, because I've seen channels celebrating Australia day, and I doubt America celebrates Australia day XD

xD Haha. Yeah, they still air adult swim here, though it'll show King of the Hill first, then American dad, Family Guy, and then Robot Chicken. They show more than that of course but thats as far as I go haha. Oh, and of course the new series, 'God, The Devil, and Bob'. I love that series x3 But had to miss the last three shows :c

I'm guilty for watching and slightly enjoying Regular show. The show does cuss and use a lot of sexual materiel though, to much for a 'kids animated' channel I would agree.

But pretty much after Total Drama Island most the new shows went down hill. I just saw a ad for the newest show 'The problem solvers' and it...creeps me out.

A channel for the old shows could be great. Most older CN cartoons are shown on Boomerang, and I do stretch old. [Top cat, The Flintstones, Huckleberry hound, Yogi bear and so on]

But I do miss the classic old CN.

TOONAMI! Thank you drtranfan, that was what I meant when i said the thing with the robot for a host or something. I could not for the life of me remember what that was called XD

Toonami! Thats what I watched for my Saturday Night Cartoons! xD I couldn't remember either but it was at the tip of my tongue > < I miss those shows the most, they were amazing D:

As for the newer shows, I do like some of them, like the Regular Show, but as Steak mentioned before, they do show inappropriate material and the usage of cuss words is bad. I can't imagine what younger kids are thinking as they're watching these > < Hopefully they're all in bed or doing something else at that time, for the newer shows mostly come on at night. They really should be placed in a different channel and bring the old shows back -_-

I know some of them show on Boomerang, but I don't have that channel sadly Dx Or I just can't find it.

My younger brothers and sisters watch Mad, Regular show and so on. I do wonder what goes through their minds as they watch it.
You know whats funny? Regular Show was nominated as 'Best Animated Television Production for Children' xD

I made a thread on this back on OIT (Official Impressive Title forum) back when I use to get on there. The Regular Show is funny to me, because Im an older kid and Ive heard worse things. But little 10 and 9 year olds watching it, no. NO NO NO.
RIGBY's (sp?) older brother had a (Excuse me.) BULDGE in his crotch when he appeared in the show. Does that not say that that show is definitely not suitable for 14 and under. Mordecai said "pissed off" at one point. That time I had to say "WAIT WHOA WUT" because that totally took me off gaurd.

Adventure time has its wtf moments sometimes to but I love that show and dare not ridicule it.

Im not even going to go into how much I hate chowder.

MAD is... a little over the top. Again, it leans over to the older sense of humor. Since most little kids wouldnt get the inside jokes they make sometimes, i.e celebrity inside jokes. (I dont get them either sometimes O.o )

Overall the new CNN is BS on a silver plater. Wheres the CARTOON in Cartoonnetwork if your showing a butt load of these stupid, waste of money and energy and human lives, attention spanes and etc, live action shows. Destroy Build Destroy is one of the most stupidest shows Ive ever seen. Dude what would happen is just 3 teenage boys with NO lives. And  Hole in the Wall, I just watch that for the lulz.

New CNN = BS on a silver platter

Old CNN = My life.

/end rant XD
Title: Re: The new Cartoonnetwork Series

Yeah i know! When he said "pissed off" I was like wait what. I had to replay that moment 5 times before i decided thats what it said!
Title: Re: The new Cartoonnetwork Series
Post by: RavenShai on March 30, 2011, 03:29:12 am
I remember that time! I think I was drinking something and when he said that I nearly choked Ox

And when Rigby's brother showed up, I was completely disturbed by his form o_o

I like to watch Regular Show (though it has its 'odd' moments) and actually love Adventure Time, though again these aren't shows that should be on CN.

Mad is, as my brother had once said, "A wanna be adult swim". Think about it, it was like they were making it to resemble as Adult Swim. Of course that completely failed and there was barely any humor in it, it was just plain gross and disgusting, with random junk -_- At least when Adult Swim showed gross things, they did it right and at the right moment, and they knew when they were doing it to much.

I hate the shows like "Hole in the Wall", "Destroy, Build, Destroy"(hate that one more than anything), and "Dude what Would Happen", one of the main reasons being that they are not even CARTOONS! Its called CARTOONnetwork, not WEHAVENOLIVESnetwork, or GAMEnetwork.
Title: Re: The new Cartoonnetwork Series
Post by: Tyki Mikk on March 30, 2011, 08:36:06 pm
I think of MAD as just an extremely watered down version of Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.

yes i defintaly agree. some shows just are wrong and should not be on cartoon network.
like on regular show i've heard them say
-pissed me off
-crotches
little kids dont need to hear those words!
and adventure time is just weird. my little brothers will copy stuff they see on tv, like example we watched the latest karate kid movie and they was runing around pretending to be kufu ppls. so they should be watching that kinda show.
but luckily they like boomarang and disney better and the only show they watch on cartoon network is jonney test, witch honestly is a intresting show.
the totoal drama seris and tht show 16(not sure if they still show it) are good shows but some of the stuff on thier shouldnt be for lil kids.

sorry tht i kinda ranted and dont mind my typos im sure theres many

Speaking of Disney Channel. Why did they get rid of Toon Disney and replace it with Disney XD? I still miss those olds shows and channels.

Ohgawd...

When I saw that the Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, and Samurai Jack (<3 JACK) were airing on Boomerang, my heart died. It was a commercial something like: "AFTER TEN YEARS ON CARTOON NETWORK..." And I was like: "Wh-what?! It's been TEN years?! HOW old am I getting? D:" (Lol, and I'm only 18. I'm totally old.) Most of the stuff on CN lately has been iusahngkjvnkjrdnvmnxcnmcblargh. But I like Adventure Time. That's pretty good.

Adult Swim, however, has just started to annoy me with its reruns of Family Guy and American Dad almost non-stop. (Oh, and also Tim & Eric or w/e the feck it's called. Don't know, don't care.) I can't wait for the new season of Superjail! to start up - and that's about all I'll be watching Adult Swim for anymore, that and when I'm feeling particularly eager to kill my braincells I'll maybe watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force. (<- That show is still around, but Samurai Jack isn't? REALLY?)

I don't want to advertise, but has anyone here read Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi (http://www.snafu-comics.com/ppg/?comic_id=1)? Holy tomatoes, it's like all these shows we're being nostalgic about combined together into something incredibly epic. Hnng~

Lol Im watching The Regular Show and this is what I saw and heard.

There was a part where muscle man aka: Mitch, asks this chick to date him. They kissed. Not kissed. But frenched. Tongue and all. Afterwards Mitch was holding her leg up, like couples do? Really. This show is not for little kids. xD I fear the makers will get ten times bolder.

"Bensons gonna drop his balls when he see's this" also.  lol

Just now they Mordicai and Rigby were calling each other turds. It was funny though. Not something I wanna hear a little kid saying though. o.O

Cn... I dont care how many shows they add, they just made it terrible. Sure, Regular Show (on the if-y side if I like it >.<) and Adventure Time are fine, but they need to really bring back the classic stuff. Ask any 5-7 year old kid who Cow and Chicken were, they probably have never even heard of Samurai Jack! It sickens me that they are shoving curse words (or inappropriate words) into their brains, only to lead them into a horrible doom. I almost cried when Fosters was taken down, even Flapjack (it was really cute <3 Creepy at some points, but cleverly creative with the art style and characters ^^). Ed Edd and Eddy... man... I want them to make more episodes of that even though my mom said it was stupid XD

I never really liked Adult Swim though... Some of the programs they had on there scared me when I was younger ^^; I do like, however, Super Jail! for some reason XD But I think that some kids might sneak on at night and watch violent things from Super Jail! and possibly some of the other shows :/  I think it all started with... Out of Jimmys Head... which by the way, made me want to smash my tv screen into tiny pieces :P  Even Nickelodeon has failed to entertain me, especially with the shows with the most annoying and dumbest characters I've ever seen.

Some of those shows on CN... really... scare me D: Like Problem Solvers, I never watched a single episode but... it seems like they've been taking an overdose of medicine :c Seriously, some of these shows will scar the kids of our future... I want Courage, Code Name Kids Next Door, Ed Edd and Eddy, Fosters, Samurai Jack, Power Puff Girls, Cow and Chicken, and Dexters Laboratory back! I swear I missed some shows, but seriously, CN needs to get their act together c;

I love and miss the old CN. But everyone always says the thing they miss most was courage! That show creeped me out till the point I would have to sleep in my parents bed. (I was like......5 when I watched courage!) especially Freaky Fred!

Hello new friend my name is Fred, the words you hear are in my head. I say I said my name is Fred and I've been very...naaaaughty.

I did that when I was 12. I've been watching AS since then. None of the stuff they showed at first was really that bad. Up until they added Robot Chicken (I love that show) nothing was really that suggestive. But thats my opinion.

But if I snuck on when I was little, than I know kids have been doing it for years. Now AS is just full of BS shows like Tim and... Whatever. That show just annoys me. The commercials are even STUPIDER. They make no since! The kids with clown faces on the playground with Aqua Team Hunger Force knock offs in the background making weird faces, the old lady at her computer and a hand randomly comes out of her computer! I mean what? Are those inside jokes or am I just stupid.

Both AS and CN have gone down the toilet.

Cow and Chicken

I love that show, I still watch it everyday. xD

Really. This show is not for little kids. xD I fear the makers will get ten times bolder.

Have you seen the short pencil animation that Mordecai and Benson first stared in [2 in the AM PM]?
Its 'bold'. xD
But I've got to agree that I fear J.G. Quintel will take it bolder. >.>

-I loved Dragon Ball Z (not to mention their cheat codes *evil grin* they give out to people that watch it), along with other shows that play on there, including at one point "Hamtaro" (Guilty! X3).

Adventure Time and Regular Show is pretty "okay-ish". (17, don't judge me...) Problem Solvers is just plain pitiful, I don't even have to watch the show itself!

I miss Rugrats. *sniff*

PS: "Dragon Ball Z Kai" on Nicktoons is a duplicate of the original, but slightly different. =3= Don't waste your time unless you haven't seen the original.

DBZ kai is just a repolished version of the old series. They made it look more up to date and threw out some voices and replaced them with new ones. Thankfully the important people's voices so far like Vegeta and Goku are still the same. However, Gohan sounds like a little whiney brat. Not that he didnt sound like that before. It was better in the older version. >.<

I think they cut out small parts too. Im not entirely sure but whatever.

I do miss the old DBZ. Kai is useless and tedious to me.
Title: Re: The new Cartoonnetwork Series
Post by: Kyugima on April 06, 2011, 05:00:38 am
Kai, like full metal alchemist: brotherhood, is a remake that follows the original manga more closely. So the story flows quicker, less fillers which I hate. They also removed damaged frames or something like that from what I've read. And they were unable to get some of the voices back so they had to replace them... Which is a shame. What's even more of a shame is the only places that are showing Kai have done some editting of their own and cut parts out that they don't like or something >.< Stupid tv channels...
But yeah, i prefer the shows that follow the manga more closely, all the added nonsense gets on my nerves sometimes...

Yay, another fan of the Warden and his Superjail. 8D

Kai, like full metal alchemist: brotherhood, is a remake that follows the original manga more closely.

Brotherhood follows the FMA manga, yes. They added back in Lin (sp?) and all the original stuff, but I've still ended up liking the first season better, for some reason. o.o

DBZ Kai in no way follows the manga more closely AT ALL. It's just a sissy version of the original DBZ - meaning that it's been subjected to 4kids-style-editing. (The only thing worse than 4-kids and their nazi editing is New-age Disney.) All they did was get rid of blood, clean up some of the animation, omit the swear words, and cut out most of the violence. Which... c'mon. This is DBZ we're talking about, violence/blood/steroids/screaming is what made the series so memorable.

If you would have noticed, I did say after that, that the channels that are showing it also did their own editing, one channel has overdone the editing more than others, but the original Kai is what I was talking about, without kids channels censoring stuff.

What's even more of a shame is the only places that are showing Kai have done some editting of their own and cut parts out that they don't like or something >.< Stupid tv channels...

The intro to DBZKai is SO 4kids. "I will fight for love and glory"? REALLY? No. No no no no. No. DBZ's theme should NEVER say something so... so... childishly thought up...? I dont even know. I prefer the old DBZ over this new crap. Its catchy. But tis not for DBZ. The song is too uppity. DBZ is mainly buff dudes from earth fighting buff aliens from space. And its almost always serious. I mean, wtf.

Speaking of old shows...

-guess who finally put some of the old shows On Demand in the Cartoon Network section? Comcast. (Now if only Dexter's Laboratory is on there, along with some other shows, I would be complete. =3)
