I figured this would be in interesting topic xD and well 2012 is only next year and well isn't that the year everyone says is the End of the World xD? Well I would like to here your views ^.^

Personally I won't believe that 2012 is the end of the world until I actually see it happen myself. XD so yeah ^.^ your views people ^.^

Well the Mayan calender is the most accurate calender in history but I still don't believe it. People were saying that the world was going to end in the year 2000 and we are still here

Also, Swifty, the Mayan calendar doesn't actually end until something like 4047. The 2012 thing was mostly hype.

None the less, always fun to watch people freak out over silly things like this. XD

Well, a solar flip will occur in 2012 (last time that happened was in 2001). In Korea the year 2012 will actually be a time of celebration for something I can't remember xD

I'm not sure if I believe it. The guy that predicted what exactly was going to happen in 2012 predicted a lot of disasters. For example he predicted that 9/11 would happen but no one believed him. But he also predicted that 2000 would be the end of the world and he was wrong.

Personally (and I'm a bit weird this way) I actually hope it happens.

Well, technically, no one ever said 'the end of the world' in 2012. What they were really saying was 'great change will happen' which means anything..well, great change! xD /nerd

What I think? Well, I do believe that whatever happens, people will go CRAZY a few months before December 21st, 2012, because of fear. And that itself could cause some disruption, depending on how bad they act.

It was announced at one point that the whole 2012 thing was simply something to get people excited about the movie and whatnot. I don't think it's gona end personally. Though i wouldn't be surprised if it did sooner or later. We're doing a good job at destroying it.
Another theory said was that the Mians simply couldn't predict any further. I mean common now they predicted thousands of years in the future they had to call it quits at one point or another.

Actually we have a little less than 2 years. The world is supposed to end on dec 21st, 2012. We will almost be in 2013. As for whether or not I think it's going to happen.... I would say in a way, yes. I'm going to bet that some sort of world war will break out. Now we all have mass weapons of destruction, so I'm ganna bet that we all end up killing each other over religion and politics and whatnot.

Oh, Im curious if you guys believe in global warming.(since we're on this topic)

I personally don't. I mean really, think about how old the earth is and how much crap shes been through and their telling us that we're making her get all hot and bothered. She could squash us like the insignificant beings that we are. (figuratively speaking)

So nah, global warming is a bit ridiculous, I like to think of it as global changing. Just a natural part of the Earth and her changing mood swings. :p

Well, I'm sure we have made a significant change, but I figure that it won't be a runaway chain reaction like they make it out to be. Usually climate changes are self regulating, or come and go in waves.

I watched the latest movie of 2012, but I don't think we are going to end that way. I woukd think that it would become extremley hot, and our bodies won't take it so we are gonna burn. Or millions of car-sized meteoriods are going to come down on us. But remember the meteriod belt and Jupiters gravitational pull, so.. eh.

People think that the world will end because the Mayan calendar ends. That's stupid. If the world ended when calendars ended, the world would end every year on December, 31.

What the Mayans actually believed is that this is the end of their calendar, and the beginning of a new, like the end of one year into another year. A change from one era into another.

Far as it ending in 2012 I don't know really, it might cause thats what a lot think and are going to go nuts about it and blow each other up over a miss read thing? Who knows but planets do die off after awhile, think about how old the earth is really. Could 2012 mean the end for her :o? Some day the world will end and hopefully I will be on another planet to watch the big bang repeat itself lol.

 My friend and I were talking about this for about 2 hours on Skype (We have no life. xD)... we're both assuming the world won't end. Well yeah, it's gonna end eventually, but the Mayans have been wrong. Who says it'll end NOW? Although, I do believe something big will happen. Something "big" as to Yellowstone's eruption (The US is 20,000 years overdue for that, y'know.) or a Zombie apocalypse. 8D (We also thought about The New World Order agenda taking place.)
I mean, if we die, we die. We're all gonna die eventually. Overall, I do not think the world will end in 2012. I do think that a huge change will take place though.
And if not, you know what'll be funny?

The people themselves decide how much big of a deal they want to make out of 2012.

So yarr.. If you belive in it. Something special might happen and you think it's because of end of wuurllds. But it's not like we had earthquakes, tsunamis, storms, flooding, massacres, wars, people dying from viruses etc. Before the year of 2012. Right?

Something will happen because the people who believe in this will make it so. Whether the world really end or not, people who believed that it will would make sure that it either ends or is messed up for others. I mean like cults and such, as well as the media. I personally, am very afraid of this possibility. Shows how weak the human mind is. If the world does end, I am afraid of that too, no matter how dull my life is. I don't want to stop drawing or...living. But when something out of our control happens, it's not human nature to just lay down and die. This just has me thinking...When will it not take a tragedy to make us work together? Even there's an angry god who wants to erase his mistakes, I don't think it's right to take it out on us, but I won't talk about that. From a scientific point of view...heh, I'm not sure which is more appealing but all I know is that whether the world ends or not, I'm not gonna stay inside and wait on it to happen. I'd be with whats left of my family and cherish our last moments together. Sorry for being a bit dark here but this is what I think. v.v

I honestly can't see happening it that way. Some say there's going to be a major Eclipse, and the world will go into another Iceage and kill off all human life, or the Ozone layer will kill us because of the growing hole from polution. XDDDD

Now, I beleive it to be highly unlikely. Has anyone seen the movie "Super Volcao"? About Yellowstone, and Ol' Faithful the geiser? Yellowstone is what they call a "Super Volcao", also known as a "Strato Volcano". And it's sitting ontop of a giant Caldera that is sensitive to changes around. And there has been sign of movement. Tectonic plates shifting. And Ol' Faithful isn't as faithful anymore. It's spewing of water and mist is delayed. This all caused by the tectonic plates shifting under it and blocking the passage of water.

ANYWAYS. If something manages to bother the Caldera, Yellowstone is sitting upon, Yellowstone Volcano is going to erupt and cause a week+ supereruption which is going to cover the world in volcanic ash, which is deadly. So they say. As the other volcanoes sitting upon Yellowstone National Park will be affected by the eruption, a chain reaction of sorts. 5 years ago the documentary based on actual facts. It was said to erupt in five years. But because Yellowstone is known for being 46,000+ years behind, people beleive it may happen sometime in late 2011 or early 2012.

But in the movie, there is still survival, people still live, so. XDDDD

It'll just be really cold for a few years after that happens. If it happens. No trying to scare anyone. It's an interesting movie. You can find all the parts on YouTube.

But yeah, just some theories about 2012 that I've learned about since the movie. I honestly don't beleive the world is just going to end. And I will be laughing at 12:01 on the 21'st of December, or the 22'nd of December when nothing happens. 8D

But seriously. No way to tell what'll happen. But all sorts of predictions from various methods and sources point to something crucial happening in the year 2012.

If another Ice Age happened, I doubt human kind would be demolished. There were plenty of early people in the past Ice Age, so I think at least some of us would adapt.

Lol, funny fact: The most part of people who say the world will end in 2012, can't even tell me what the weather will be like next weekend XD
And besides, the Egyptian pyramids predicted the first world war and some other cool stuff, but THEY said the world will end in something like the 2500's. That seems alot more likely if I had to choose which I believe.
But yeah... a zombie apocalypse would be awesome. I already have a make-shift weapon by my bed; a piece of wood. It used to be part of a bed. And I have food rations in my handbag. And I've even decided on a shelter. Oh yeah. Paranoid, much?? XD

My life just turned around and got permanently awesome. By 2012, boyfriend and I would just be getting settled in Seattle with our new jobs. He'd probably have landed that job at Valve. We'd have gotten the new puppy we've been wanting. And then BAM. That would literally be the worst. ever. timing. So it had better not. x)

The world could get smacked into tomorrow by a giant rock and that could be the end. Or maybe 27312897 years from now. My belief for just about every topic is "Ultimately, no one knows." So we're all just living day to day. :3

But it WILL end. All stars must die, and unfortuantly, that includes our poor old sun. And when stars die they make black holes and expand and all that. So in the DISTAAANT future, the sun shall swallow the earth! HURRAH!
But I personally want it to end by Zombies. L4D zombies mostly! Now wouldn't that be awesome!

Oh, and on the note of global warming, I beleive in that. Because it happened in the past. The earth heats up, then there is an ice age, then things settle again. And they get worse everytime. So I don't beleive we are the cause of global warming, but we are deffinately NOT helping XD It's just nature doing it's Thang XD

If it is just a case of humans dying by desease and all that, then technically it is the end of humanity, not the world. For it to be the end of the world, something LIKE the sun dying would have to happen, destroying the entire planet.

Do you know how many hundreds of predictions have been made as to the end of the world? Thousands of predictions have been made about all kinds of stuff, and only a tiny percent have come true. I don't think the world will end for a really long time, but the battle at Har Megiddo will happen someday.

In my opinion, no one can really say it WILL happen. Then again, no one can say that it absolutely CAN'T. The planet can flick us all off like flies any time it wants, so if it does happen on the date that everyone says it will, it will just be a coinsidence. Not just because one of us said it will. I honestly think that it can happen at any time,  like perhaps tomorrow or the day after that. Or maybe even a day before or after the planned date. What gets me mad is when, one, when people say straight-out that it's not going to happen, and then two, when people say it WILL happen but only because one of us says it will. Really, who can you completely, fully and utterly trust when discussing the end of the world? How can someone know for sure? I'm sort of stuck on whether or not it will happen, to be perfectly honest. That's precisely why I checked "Other" in the poll. xD But really, we're acting as though it will be a once-in-a-lifetime holiday, or something. Something that WE created, when it is really just the planet that is doing it.
Now, I know this may seem like the cruelest thing I am about to say, but...
People who are taunting those who fear the end of the world in 2012 say that they are going to go and beat up and tease even MORE on the people after it supposedly DOESN'T happen. Well...I'd absolutely LOVE to see the world end like...the day after, right when those people who doubted and are rubbing it in, saying "I told you so, fags!", are enjoying the fact that they are still alive. xD
It isn't nice to pick on people just because they believe in something different than you, especially when you most likely know just as little, if not less about it. And that is why it is in the future :3

Taking a purely scientific mind to it, and ignoring zombies (sadly) the world will most likely end in the next thousand years or so. Theories I support:

-The sun, nearing It's old age, will expand to a red giant and boil away our brainz :P
Then, it will shrink into a white dwarf, freezing the planet.

-Our galaxy will collide with another one (can't remember the name). (dunno how this could end the world, but meh.)

-Yellowstone will explode and destroy most of north America. The ash from the volcano will disrupt everything. Including your flight to Spain! >:3
...
Just kidding. It'll wreck the ecosystem and destroy a good chunk of the human population.

The guy who predicted 2012 would be the end of the world made loads of other FAYUL predictions. So I don't believe it at all. I don't really care either, to be honest. :B The end of the world will come whenever it is to come. More likely none of us will live then. And since 2012 is just next year, I'm definitely negative world is ending in a few months... :B
