Discussion Board / Guilty Pleasure Songs?
« on: September 09, 2016, 09:38:43 pm »
We all have those songs that're cringy, explicitly raunchy, part of a long dead trend, or just plain awful. No lyin'. We all have them.

So, some of my shameful songs that I can't help but earworm or sing in the shower are:
Sailor Song by Toy-Box
Any latino pop song
All About That Base by Meghan Trainor
.. LMFAO's old songs (I'm so sorry)
Booty by Jennifer Lopez (its got a good beat okay)
Psy
Anaconda (again good beat)
Baby Got Back by Sir Mixalot (it's a CLASSIC, you hear?)
Gwen Stefani

I feel disgusting for givin' into such music as opposed to my typical indie or alternative tastes, but... I just can't stop addin' these to my playlists.

Discussion Board / DA Drama (Rant?)
« on: September 05, 2016, 08:24:56 pm »
Alright, now before I begin, I would just like to ask that if any of you were involved in this conflict and feel the need to speak up about it, please be respectful and mature. I don't want this to be locked because of an argument break out. Also, if any staff feel the need to move this, or if its not belongin' here at all, I apologize. I wasn't sure where to put this.

Now, onto the point.

So recently there's been some drama on DeviantArt involvin' a few members of this otherwise lovely community. Although I am strongly biased, as me and three of my close friends were involved, I will try to give an objective summary.

So, basically someone was inquired as to why a watermark was on a lineart piece, and an argument broke out. Afterwards, there were some journal and art piece call outs, which didn't directly target anyone, but were still visibly regardin' the conflict. There were some more comment wars, and such, includin' some neutral third parties interventions; and in the end, most of those involved blocked their "opposition."

Now, this isn't a call out post, an appeal post, or anythin' of the like. I simply wish to say; can't we just end this out of site drama? I believe that both parties overreacted to some degree, but can't we just take some criticism, change our ways of thought, respond logically and not assume everything to be an insult; and put this all behind us?

So, yeah. I hope this didn't come off as rude or the like, but this needs to stop. These friends of mine are being harassed, and are bein' rallied against; and its honestly a bit unnecessary given the situation was a misunderstandin' of both sides.

Anyways, onto the topic of rant/discussion:
Can't we just give benefit of the doubt sometimes? Not every inquisition or non-complement comment is an insult or has rude intentions. Please, relax, DA community. This of course, also applies to other communities, as well as the forum. Please keep this in mind, it's not hard to approach things calmly.

Tl;dr: Please have a thicker skull and don't blow things out of proportions.

Thank you for readin'. I'll probably also be postin' this to DA, but since it concerns this community, I figured I'd post it here.

(Also, for those involved, I'd like to arrange a settlement or peace agreement. The drama is really gettin' to the site.)

Discussion Board / Sense o humor?
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:32:58 pm »
How would ye describe yer sense of humor? What types of jokes do you find funny? What types of jokes would you tell?

As for me personally, most of my humor is based off of rather dark or offensive (such jokes are reserved for close friends who I am positive that they are ok with such topics), though I'm also a sucker for awful puns or nerdy, science-based humor (such as Hank Green's videos). Sometimes, spontaneous humor, such as an irrelevant statement or seemingly harmless word. I also have a lot of inside jokes I work with. Sometimes, roasting (with consent and/or with friendly intentions) can force a chuckle as well.

As for comedic interest, I can enjoy comedians along the styles of Louis CK, Jeff Dunham, Bo Burnham and John Mulaney. HI admit, I do shamefully laugh at raunchy jokes.
I will admit, I often joke about depression, suicide and similar sensitive issues, but again, only with people who are 100% ok with it. I typically use gallows humor as a coping method to cover up my own depression and the like.

Game Discussion / How DEAD are you?
« on: August 10, 2016, 05:18:53 pm »
(Feel free to move this if it's in the wrong board)

Now, we all have a pretty hefty cast of characters we love. However, what if they were given a reason to rebel...?

So, here's how it goes:
All of your OCs want to kill you. HOWEVER, you can convince a single loyalist to defend you. Who is it?
An epic battle ensues. Do you survive? How about the rest of your OCs? Did the loyalist remain loyal to the end? Did they survive?

As for my OCs, I think I'd pick Enkidu to protect me. He's basically a livin' shield, with impenetrable skin and wings, who hates conflict, so I think I'd be in good hands.
On the other hand, Scuttle's got magic that could easily kill either of us, and Bullroarer's frickin' hug, Tont's blind but still strong, Yaz is useless so he wouldn't hurt me much...

I think we'd still get pummeled, hehe.

Site/Forum Help / Blocked from website
« on: July 31, 2016, 04:15:59 pm »
I have been attempting to reply to some threads, but it keeps reading "You have been blocked from this website," followed by a small paragraph explaining that the website is trying to defend itself from online attacks.

I have checked my antivirus and attempted safesearching the website, checking the encoding and task manager; and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary elsewhere on Chrome.
So I don't believe the issue is from my end. I would really appreciate it if a staff member could look into this, or offer a way around this.

Forum Discussion / An Honest Rant
« on: July 31, 2016, 12:52:47 am »
Alright, now I know many of ye will take this the wrong way, but this is just how *I* feel. 'Tis an opinion, and I doubt many will like it, but I do ask you hear me out.
Also, I would like to hear if anyone else feels like this, or has another perspective on the matter. I'd like to keep this mature and most importantly, HONEST if a disagreement does break out, however.

Alright, now before I get started, this is NOT a personal issue I have.

So, a few other users have brought this up recently, whether publicly or in private discussion, and honestly I'm getting tired of it. The blunt point is this:
I feel like everyone's just kissing up to everyone and acting super unnaturally nice, but with no sincerity whatsoever; and the bulk of the community just seems fake to me.
Now, I know what all of you reading are thinking. People are being nice? What's wrong with that? Well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being polite, or telling white lies, or being friendly. It's just that, the community is based on who can butter up the nicest, and not on other actual good people who may just be too shy or blunt to make a super huge deal and compliment everyone on every little thing. I've seen users with an absolute heart of GOLD been completely overshadowed, regarded as "unfriendly" or "distant," and sometimes even some... rude things in private just because they aren't stereotypically outgoing. This really bothers me to no end.

And yes, I am aware that much of this community is young and the like, but still, if everyone is constantly slammed with compliments and praise, and being blown up for something, then no one's truly special; and it's extremely unfair to people who do something just as well, maybe even better, than those glorified members, but receive little to moderate attention for their dedication. Many of you probably think "well jeez, Twisted, you're just jealous because so and so didn't get as much attention as so and so."
I will admit, I am slightly biased, as many friends of mine were overshadowed in such a way, but this isn't the issue, but a factor in the pic picture.

Now, this big picture, as I mentioned before in the blunt point, is that people don't seem genuine. I am aware this is the internet, and it is difficult to properly decipher tone or feeling through text alone, but still; it can give off some mixed feelings if someone is everyone's sweetheart in public, but rude and or selfish when actually spoken to in a one on one. I personally have been talked down to or "shut up" and "yessed" to death by people I once considered kind.
The thing is, as difficult as it is to get truly caught up and interested in a strictly internet topic, no one seems to care about actual issues users may have and are mentioning, or something they are proud of, but try to act like they're suddenly best friends or glorify the member for the sake of a good reputation. Now this is scarcely viewed as a bad thing at first. It's good to keep up a generally positive reputation, and that is achieved through being kind and considerate, especially to those who need it. It's the right thing to do, right? Well, sometimes a good action for the wrong action could also classify as a bad action, even if only subliminally.
Now, I will admit, I am guilty of this on occasions, but as someone who's been through many of the same issues that people may have, and I'd feel better knowing that I've helped someone. However, many of the people who offer to be a shoulder to cry on are empty offers to seem like they care, however, many I know have been blatantly rejected by those who offered advice or a "safe place" to talk. I know some things are too personal, but if someone truly needs to vent; why offer to comfort them if you're just going to brush them away like it's nothing in private? The answer is simple. Reputation. Everyone just pretends to care about everyone to the ends of the earth when they really couldn't give a rats backside about whether or not the person will benefit, and it's very selfish and it bothers me.

Also, even when assisting those in need, I feel like people are just throwing out the darndest things as random suggestions that may have NOTHING to do with the actual issue, and much of the time make the problem worse. I understand not everyone is an expert, and everyone makes mistakes. However, when people barely read up on the issue and just spit out the same answers in every thread, even if it's already been stated that the said solution did nothing to help the issue, or is unrelated, it's really just... off.

Now, I know many of those reading this may be offended. It's a reasonable response to someone seemingly challenging most of the community. However, I mean nothing personal, and this is not meant as a threat, call-out post, or as a form of attention seeking. I just would like to get this off my chest, and I am curious if others feel the same way.
For those who have made it this far, thank you for your time and patience.

Game Discussion / Character Themes
« on: July 29, 2016, 02:07:33 am »
Everyone's got an aesthetic. Sunsets, the color red, thunderstorms, memes *glares at no one in particular.* How about your characters?

This could also involve theme songs that match this aesthetic, suit their personalities, or just fitting for when they dramatically enter a room.

As for my own OCs...
Scuttle: Little Fang - Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks, Horse With No Name - America, Meet Me In The Woods - Lord Huron, Handlebars - Flobots
Lenny: Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel, Bruno is Orange - Hop Along, Still Alive -Portal 2
Wilson: The Sailor Song - Toybox, Come to Me - Goo Goo Dolls, Hips Don't Lie - Shakira (he's a SASSY girl ok)
Bullroarer: The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper - Poets of the Fall, I'm So Sorry - Imagine Dragons, Somewhere Only We Know - Keane
Tont: Always Gold - Radical Face, Blame - Air Traffic Controller
Enkidu: Grown Ocean - Fleet Foxes, The Yawning Grave - Lord Huron

Sorry if there's already a topic for this. Search didn't bring up anythin' recent, so....

Introduction / Fiiiiiine, I'll do it.
« on: July 29, 2016, 12:48:23 am »
Ah hypocrisy.

A while back, I declared a leave from the Feralheart forum. I had a most pleasant break, but like I always do whenever I declare a leave; I have been popping on site more and more.

So, I may as well declare that I am officially back, at least for a little while longer. I doubt I'll be as active as I was earlier in the year, but, couldn't hurt to come back for a while.

Thank you fer readin'.

As I slowly relapse back to Feralheart, my typically cynical demeanor has been tainted with random happiness.

So on that note, chicken nuggets...
Whaddya think?
Good? Bad?
I eagerly await responses.
