hi, i've just installed feralheart using the tutorial and everything went fine with that, however when i go to open the application (through playonmac), the game seems to crash before the opening slides.
i have no mods or any extensions installed to feralheart whatsoever, and i've tried opening it multiple times to no avail. i'm not sure what to do, it just leaves it with a black screen and a pop-up saying "the program feralheart.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience". i've tried shutting down my computer but nothing changed.
i'm not exactly tech-savvy so if you have the solution, please try to cut it down as simply as possible for me. thank you.

I'm no Mac expert, but I do have something for you to check
Go into your FH > media > particles folder and delete any files ending in _0, _1, etc. These are known to cause crashing

I know nothing of the PlayonMac installation of FH or anything about Macs in general but maybe try changing your rendering subsystem to the opposite one? In Windows you can do this by altering the ogre.cfg file as shown below. If there is software that can open a text file, use that and see if it'll open the .cfg file.

i couldn't find ogre.cfg in my finder so im not exactly sure how to import it to textedit

Did you only try searching for the file in Finder?
(That does not work for me either, so you will have to locate the files)
Open the "PlayOnMac's virtual drives" map > FeralHeart > drive_c > Program Files > FeralHeart.
It should be there with the rest of the game files. [:

okay, i found ogre.cfg, i dont seem to have the sections where it says "Rendering Device=Montior-1-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960" or "Resource Creation Policy=Create on all devices". should those be added?

Hmm, I am not really sure if it is needed, but you can give it a try.
I do not have those sections either, but Direct works for me.
However, I am having the same issue as you when it comes to OpenGL.
You could always try reinstalling XQuartz just in case!
I wish I had the solution, but running FeralHeart on Macs
has always been a struggle ;n; What kind of Mac do you have?
The drivers might be a problem, if the computer/laptop is old.

Go to C:>FeralHeart and try searching for C:>Local>AppData>FeralHeart.txt
Open the file and change any number ye find there in a 0.Close everything then open yer game.I think it's gonna take a little while to open but just let it do its stuff.This is called force updating the game.
Tell me if it worked:D

i've got a macbook pro from 2011, but world of warcraft and other programs work just fine on it, as well feralheart works just fine on a laptop a little bit older than it

Perhaps you can try using WineSkin instead of PlayOnMac,
which is what I normally use. (I will help you if you are unsure how it works)

I know local can't be found you need to search on that bar above all the files.If it dosen't works it means we need to find another solution.Try Avanis idea maybe it works

Here is how you install FeralHeart on Wineskin:
Click "Create New Blank Wrapper" and name it FeralHeart.
Once it has finished installing, open the FeralHeart.app and click "Install Software".
Click on the option "Choose Setup Executable" and choose the FeralHeart setup/installer.
It might crash towards the end and say it has encountered a problem, but it will most
likely work anyway. Once you have finished installing it, open the FeralHeart.app again
and let me know if it works~

okay, so i've gotten so far, but Wineskin seems to be unresponsive and something called "Wine Debugger" has shown in FeralHeart's place so i'm not sure where to go from this point on. i've tried this a couple times to the same result

this is what shows up every time i click on FeralHeart

i press install and these two show up. the "Busy... Wineskin is currently busy Please Wait..." tab is unresponsive.
"C:\users\user\Temp\7ZipSfx.000\aria2c.exe" shows in FeralHeart's place

this shows up after a few minutes. i install them all to its given default settings. "C:\users" changes a bit

click finish, "C:\users:" is now "Wine Debugger" and adds a lot of stuff

it closes when i press Finish, and then... that's it. that's as far as it ever goes. i've tried waiting but nothing happens. the "Busy..." tab is still unresponsive. "CN:" at the bottom on "Wine Debugger" counts down and then starts back up.

Yes, if you know where your FeralHeart folder is, you should be able to manually install mods. Just be sure to read and follow instructions if there are any. =)

Ye i think it is gonna be the same thing as on the windows.There is an instruction file in both.If anything goes wrong tell me and we'll find a way to solve it
