Title: The "Update" button?
Post by: Ingredient on May 07, 2014, 10:22:31 am
In Map Maker, Object Maker and Preset Maker I've noticed the "Update" button but I have no idea what it does.

This button has puzzled me every time I come across it. I know it doesn't update the object if you've edited the files while Feralheart is still open.

So would anyone know what this button does?

Thanks ^^

What I think the update button does is to update the object, map and preset maker when you made changes. For an example I chose a rock on the object maker and added a few stuffs in it then I click the update button so it's currently updated now like it's changed, I hope I'm not confusing you xD

I think I understand what you mean xD

I would've thought that the same would happen if you just saved over it though?

I guess so. I still wasn't sure for my answer but I guess it's just that way.

well, the update button in object maker is similar to the 'add new mesh' button, if you want to use it that way. see, if you have a mesh and delete the file name in the box, then add another mesh name and click 'update', the mesh will turn into the new mesh you typed in, but it keeps the same sizes and such.

I just tested it out in Object Maker, the thought of it doing that never crossed my mind. That's helpful and good to know so thank you :3

Do you know how it works with Map Maker?

EDIT: Also just noticed there's a "Show All" button in Map Maker, not sure what that does either.

i hadn't seen that before, but as i checked it out, if you select a mesh and click "hide" the mesh will disappear (but still be there, just invisible) and if you "hide" a lot of them, clicking "show all" will make them show up. however, i'm still not sure what update does.

As what spottedbears mentioned, the "show all" button is to show the mesh[es] that you have hidden.

Quote from: _

With "Delete" u can delete the choosen Mesh.
With "Hide" u can hide an choosen Mesh. It is possible to use that on more tan one Mesh at the same time.
With "Show All" u can get all ur Meshes show up again.

Not sure what the update button is for. Most likely along the lines of what Shenidan said.

I didn't notice the Hide button before, lol. I suppose that wraps up this thread, I don't have any more questions regarding this topic ^^

Thanks you guys <3
