well, the update button in object maker is similar to the 'add new mesh' button, if you want to use it that way. see, if you have a mesh and delete the file name in the box, then add another mesh name and click 'update', the mesh will turn into the new mesh you typed in, but it keeps the same sizes and such.

I just tested it out in Object Maker, the thought of it doing that never crossed my mind. That's helpful and good to know so thank you :3
Do you know how it works with Map Maker?
EDIT: Also just noticed there's a "Show All" button in Map Maker, not sure what that does either.
i hadn't seen that before, but as i checked it out, if you select a mesh and click "hide" the mesh will disappear (but still be there, just invisible) and if you "hide" a lot of them, clicking "show all" will make them show up. however, i'm still not sure what update does.
As what spottedbears mentioned, the "show all" button is to show the mesh[es] that you have hidden.
With "Delete" u can delete the choosen Mesh.
With "Hide" u can hide an choosen Mesh. It is possible to use that on more tan one Mesh at the same time.
With "Show All" u can get all ur Meshes show up again.
Not sure what the update button is for. Most likely along the lines of what Shenidan said.
