How do we hide the email option on the memberlist?
Checked back and every new member since October 2016 has the email icon on the memberlist but almost none have it before that.
I'd like to hide that option but I can't find where to do that.

I've asked quite a few people in my time around FH and I don't think there is an option to.
Maybe I'm just asking the wrong people.

Thanks, it seems there used to be but something seems to have changed since October and for one or the other unknown to me reason they changed the default to show it for everyone new since then which isn't quite a choice I would make or desire for a forum.

Well I hope they add an option soon, I don't want some random people emailing me.

Same here, that's why I'm asking, hopefully someone who is in charge of this forum is able to answer the question or change it back to how it was before October.
Reported myself to hopefully get an answer from those who are able to either give us the answer or change it for us.

Ugh, wish I didn't mention it... looks like it's being abused already, getting in spam emails already and never had these on this account yet....

Am sorry to hear of your troubles with the spam emails, Soul, I have never had this issue myself.
I'm sure that you can just type in an old email you don't use or use a random one if that might work? Then you wouldn't get the spam. I am not entirely sure about a button to hide it though but if there was it'd be under the forum settings.

EDIT: There is an option under Forum Profile > Notifications and if you check one of the first ones you can opt out of getting emails! Hope this helps you floof!

Thanks but that doesn't take away the email option on the memberlist, that's the one that is the problem, I have disabled all others.

I'd message the staff about it. Ye shouldn't be receiving emails from strangers, especially if they're doing it to harass ye. They should be able to do something about it.

I used the report option so that the message would go to staff... hope they look into it. I don't know what the email said, it wasn't in my language or a script I could read... Will have to look up how to contact staff in other ways...

I haven't had any experience with bullying through the email system but I wouldn't like to be.
As Eno said I suggest you try and send in a report if they don't respond.

Thanks, I reported and checked them on the memberlist but administrators aren't online right now, will give it some time and check back tomorrow.

Small note for those who use the report button: The report button is not the most efficient way to bring up a topic to discuss with a staff member. The report button is not frequently checked as often as staff check their inboxes, and the report button is harder to use than just popping a moderator a message. Contacting us from the page Bloo linked above is the best and quickest response you will get. If you want the quickest response, try contacting a moderator or global moderator.
I've read over the issue, and I will bring this to Raz's attention so that he can look into fixing it so that no one can view user e-mails if you have set it so that your e-mail is not visible via your profile. In the meantime, what I would suggest is to change your e-mail to a spare/side e-mail address that doesn't contain any personal information, such as your real name. Generally, I would use one that you aren't worried about having any ties to personal usage, but make sure that it's still active, or else this could cause troubles for your account later on.

Also, if it helps control the clutter and spam, I would recommend blocking the email addresses so far that have sent you messages and reporting them as spam.
