Title: A mainscreen freeze problem
Post by: haloguts on October 14, 2019, 12:49:45 pm
Everytime I try to log in, the game freezes. Now, my laptop is a potato and I considered that system requirements might be the problem, but with some googling it turned out that people run FH on even more ancient PCs just fine. Plus, after screwing around some more, I found all elements of the Creative Den working smoothly. There's no issues with my wifi either. I also tried to leave the game open in its freezed state for some time (games freezing for a few seconds while loading is usual for me), but it just continues to be unresponsive.
Any suggestions?

Hey there haloguts,

Keep in mind all pcs/laptops are different so it very well may be a problem with your computer itself and why the game doesn’t run well ^^ You’re using the play game login website tab as well right?

Since this account says it was registered today I’m guessing you’re new and most likely haven’t downloaded any mods so that’s most likely not the issue either. The Creation Den loads well for you since there’s not much to load there (like meshes etc).

Something you can try to help reduce the strain when attempting to load in: On the main menu select “options”, go to the “video” tab. Switch between OpenGL or Direct3D9 for the Rendering Subsystem. Use windowed mode rather than full screen (should be set to windowed mode by default). Make sure Anti-aliasing is set to 0. Turn Water Reflection off (uncheck). And set View Distance to 0. Then when you try to log in don’t click during the load in screens. Just let it load since clicking during the loading screens can cause crashes or freezing.

Also try to close down any other programs that you might have running in the background.

If this still doesn’t work you can try totally uninstalling and reinstalling the game again in case by some luck it helps.

I do think it’s just your computer not handling it well, but hopefully something here helps you <3 Goodluck!
