Title: How to Make An Avatar/Signature

I will try to make these tutorials as simple as possible. Please comment with questions or things I should add!

Here's Version One: A Still Picture From Your Computer
NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO INSTRUCTIONS 1-5 IF YOU HAVE AN AVATAR ON SAVED TO YOUR COMPUTER

1). First, draw the picture and save it to your computer. You can use Microsoft Paint, GIMP 2, or any art program of your choice. Remember to save as a .png or JPEG

2). Now go to tinypic.com or image shack. Either one works, but this tutorial has pictures from tiny pic. Here's a link:http://tinypic.com

3). Here's a picture of what the site will look like:

Click on 'Choose File' and you will be directed to a scroll-down menu that looks like this:

4). Simply click on the picture you want to upload and click 'Choose.' You will be asked to type in a quick passcode-just type it in-there is no virus I swear-I used tiny pic for all these pictures on here.

5). Now you will be directed to a page that looks like this:

Just copy the the text in the box that says, "For Forums and Message Boards."

6). Now you go back to FeralHeart Forums and click on 'Profile' on this bar:

It's between 'Search' and 'My Messages' if you haven't noticed =A=

7). You will now be transported to a page that looks like this:

 Click on 'Forum Profile Information' and you will be transported to this page:

8a). Now just go to the circled options. In the 'Avatar' section, if you click on 'Choose File' you will be taken to another scroll down menu. Just simply pick the picture you want as your Avatar.

8b). If you do not have the image saved to your computer, then copy the URL into the box above, 'Choose File.' I will give more instruction on URLs in the next tutorial

9). Simply click 'Change Profile' and WAIT FOR IT TO LOAD. If you click on something else before it's done loading-chances are the image will not show up-same goes for avatars.

FOR SIGNATURES:

1). Repeat steps 1-7 (with the image you want as your signature)

2). Scroll down to the white box that says, 'Signature' to the left of it. Paste the image address or URL (URLs for .gifs explained in next tutorial!!) that you copied earlier on tiny pic or image shack (or any other website), and add any extra text to it.

3). Simply click 'Change Profile' and WAIT FOR IT TO LOAD. If you click on something else before it's done loading-chances are the image will not show up-same goes for avatars.

Note that this is how to MAKE a .Gif, not how to get one, but I will add that on later.

1). First, you go to GIFSoup.com-here's a link: http://gifsoup.com/#create (http://gifsoup.com/#create)

2). Go to this bar:

Then you click on 'Create Animated GIFs from YouTube

3). Post the link to the YouTube video in the box. Let's say this one: Naruto Shippuuden - Opening 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMAb79JahTs#) C:<

4). You will transported to a page that looks like this (with your video):

The top circles are the beginning and ending times. Unfortunately, you can only go up to fifteen seconds for one gif unless you pay for a membership, but that's more than enough for what you want to get in there. Just enter the beginning and ending times in the boxes in front of mins (trust me, those are actually the seconds boxes).

5). Then you enter the category, tags, and title. You must do this. IGNORE THE APPLY BUTTON.

6). Scroll down to the buttons 'preview' and 'finish.' Click on one. When you click 'finish' you will be directed to this page:

7). Now just repeat the steps in the last tutorial to put the .gif into your signature. I'm too lazy to repeat the steps, I've had to do this tutorial, like twice, because the server was failing :C

One more tutorial after this, and I'm officially done with the signature/avatar tutorials. YAY! Remember to reply with any questions C: (OK, I lied)

1). Find a site that has good .gifs for you-what's that? FINE. I won't make the sample about Naruto again >:I

2). OK, either you can look something up on GIFSoup, Glittergraphics, or a search engine of your choice. Here are the links to both: http://glitter-graphics.com/gallery.php?categoryID=78 (http://glitter-graphics.com/gallery.php?categoryID=78) http://www.gifsoup.com/ (http://www.gifsoup.com/) (I recommend glitter graphics for avatars) If not anyone of these, have what you want just look up (insert topic/name here) gif-it applies the same way

3). I'll be doing Glittergraphics just to make things simple. Here's what the page will look like:

4). You can search up a certain topic: like so:

The new page will look something like this:

5). Then click on one that you like, and you will be directed to a page that looks like this:

Then copy the text in the box that I circled.

6). Repeat the steps on how to put in your signature/avatar.

Final Tutorial! Just a quick tutorial on how to put pictures from the internet into your avatar/signature.

1). Search up the picture you want-let's say-Ninja Fox.

2). Go to the 'images' section

3). Right click on the image you want, click on 'copy image address' (only for signature)

4). Go to 'Profile'

5). Go to 'Forum Profile Information'

6). Paste the image address in 'I have my own pic:'

7). Click 'Change Profile' and wait for it to load.

OK, I know I did this in another tutorial, but this is the part people usually mess up on, so I'll re-cap in more detail how to get the Signature inside the Forum using Screenshots and such. Listen carefully I'm trying my best to explain simply, OK? These guides are actually pretty brief, the pictures just make them seem like a lot I'm guessing. Next, I'll do how to get an avatar inside the forum, just sit tight.

1). Go to 'Profile' under the 'Hello' bar.

2). Go to 'Forum Profile Information.'

3). Scroll down to the white 'Signature' Box (box number one-cyan circle):

4). Paste the Image Address or .Gif URL into the box

5). Click 'Change Profile (circle #2, orange circle)

NOTE: You must have an image address from the internet, uploaded to tiny pic or image shack or copied from google/yahoo's images. Otherwise it will NOT work. How to upload the picture and retrieve the image address is in the first tutorial at the top of the page.

[This is basically the same as Signature, just some slight changes.

1). Go to 'Profile' under the 'Hello' bar

2). Go to 'Forum Profile Information.'

3). Go to the 'Avatar' box. This is where things get a bit tricky.

 PERSONALIZED PICTURES, CYAN CIRCLE, NUMBER 1
This one is probably the simplest, simply click on a category, and a scroll-down menu like this will pop-up:

Simply click on the person you want as your avatar, then click 'Change Profile' at the bottom right corner of the 'Forum Profile Information.' If you still can't find it, check out the last tutorial-it's in an orange box marked '2.'

I HAVE MY OWN PIC, ORANGE CIRCLED, NUMBER 2
Make sure you have your image address from tiny pic or image shack, or just from a google/yahoo/bing image!

1). Paste your image address into the box

2). Click 'Change Profile' and wait for it to load.
 
I WILL UPOLAD MY OWN PICTURE, PURPLE CIRCLE, NUMBER 3

1). Click on 'Choose File' (or 'Browse' on some computers) and select the image you want from your computer. Note that the image must be saved to your computer or you will not find it.

2). Click 'Change Profile' and wait for it to load.

OMG yes, like everyone else, thanks so much!

As you can see from my comment, however - my icon doesn't show :|

I was, for NOW, planning on using the same icon as on my deviantART.
I had my own pic, clicked on Choose File, went to the folder of my computer with the avatar I drew, waited for it, clicked Change Profile and waited for it to load...I've tried a number of times, but instead, I get this blank box with a little icon inside it...and, if I check the profile again, the Choose File box, instead of having the name of the picture file, says No File Chosen...I've tried like 5 times..any idea why it does this?

I know this isn't a help thread, but maybe try uploading it to TinyPic or another image host site? To upload to tinypic, go to tinypic.com, but you might want to go on a mobile device because of the ads and popups. Then, click on "Select an Image" and select an image from your folders. Then, select the size if you want to resize it. From there, click "Upload", and you should be greeted with either something that verifies that you're not a robot or a screen with the image and codes. For an avatar, copy the very bottom code, saying "Direct link for Layouts". On FH, select "I have my own Pic" and paste the code from TinyPic. It may take a few tries to change though.

Hope this helped a bit, even though this isn't a help thread o,o
