Post by: RavenShai on August 16, 2012, 12:32:13 pm
PLEASE NOTE: Anything marked with a * means it's an optional read. Those unmarked you /have/ to read. Also, this RP is set in medieval times.

Thank you Kutanra for the drawing!

Welcome to Lynthia

A land of many races, of many cities, towns, and places.
Legend and folklore hang heavily around this land, with many mysteries and discoveries to be made. Lynthia is governed
by a single King who dwells in his Kingdom right at the center, a King that is well loved and respected by his people. In
return for his protection and wisdom, he has aid of all to keep the land safe and in order.
Though the many races are odd indeed, odder still are the ones who possess strange abilities. Yes, people and creatures
born here are sometimes gifted with something special, a technique or ability no other has. Not all can attain this gift, but
even so it isn't uncommon. No two have the same ability, though some may be similar they possess something that
makes them unique. However, something amiss has been going on in the land of Lynthia. Strange disappearances have
been taken place with those who are gifted, gone without a trace. Caution has been issued to those who have powers,
warnings going out to families and friends. The King is doing all he can to find the cause of this tragedy, his soldiers,
knights, and all others who work for him double their patrol of the towns and land to keep those who aren't missing safe
and locating the source of the crime.

Story Thus Far: ((To be filled as the RP goes))

*Locations in Lynthia

Zale
Rien
Larth
A small town settled in Lynthia Forest, far east of Lynthia Castle. There are only a handful of small dwellings in this place, a rather friendly and welcoming atmosphere hanging about the area. Unlike usual human-made towns and cities, this place is quite in-tune with nature, trees grow freely around the area and animals are never too shy to visit. Elves along with other forest loving-people/creatures like to visit here often. Key places here are the cafe-like inn dubbed simply as Zale's Cafe which is perfect as travelers often stop by, and a building where a woman (age unknown and suspected to be a witch) brews all sorts of potions and concoctions, making the best medicine and remedies in all of Lynthia due to the plentiful of supplies in the forest. The shop is known as "Cylanthia's Brewery".
The largest town in all of Lynthia, practically a city with the constant activity that goes on here and is settled directly south of Lynthia Castle. If you're a party-goer and music lover, this is the place to go. Celebrations, festivals, anything along those lines are always taking place here, it's hardly ever quiet. People like gypsies, entertainers, music players, etc visit here often to make their living before moving on. Key places are the Festive Inn, the famous Theater, and even a place where people just hang out, indoors and outdoors.
The  town was once an ancient city that somewhere in history was abandoned, and lays far in the north/west "corner". Over the years it began collecting dust, cobwebs, and weeds, the houses and buildings cracked and some just falling apart.
However, soon people began living within the abandoned, forsaken homes. These people are usually ones getting away from the law or just have no where else to go, people like thieves, bandits, runaways, etc. Not exactly an honest town but somehow the people who dwell here have established their own rule and mutual respect toward one another to prevent any bloodshed. Still, people living here have to keep a very close eye on the very few belonging they do have should someone try to take it. Larth was a name given to the area at some point for no records have been found to explain what the town once was, and there are many winding trails and pathways throughout the city. Key place here is the Stadium, founded sometime only a little after people started living here again. However, it's location is rather well hidden, and though sounds of fighting and shouting can be heard the maze of the town intensifies the echoing and makes it very difficult to pinpoint.
Lynthia Castle
Skien Mountains
Lynthia Forest
This castle is right smack in the middle of Lynthia, where the King lives to tend to Lynthia's inhabitants needs and keeping all in order. A town also lies at the gates of the castle, bustling with people and full of markets containing exotic items and bazaar foods. You can find all sorts of races here, wither they be locals, visitors, or to see the King. Key places here are the Cropper Fish Inn in the town and the Dungeons in the castle.
The Mountains outline the North of Lynthia like angry giants. Peaks jab into the sky, one particular large one climbing it's way up until it disappears in the clouds. The mountain contains many secrets though equally as many dangers. If only going for a simple hike it's highly advised you only climb the shorter of the peaks to the west and east and only near the edge, any further is practically life threatening. Not only do travelers or passerby's have to be careful not to get lost in it's many caverns, fine shelter during the night and stay warm, avoid rockfalls or sudden drop offs, but they have to ever keep a vigilant eye out on the many inhabitants that hang around, ranging from the common mountain lion to trolls.
Though safer than the mountains, it's only slightly. It's highly advise you never travel alone unless well skilled and experienced, or capable of defending yourself. If you are alone and lack fighting skills, remain to the roads that cut through the forest and never head into the trees where the danger lies. During the day you'll most likely be okay, but it's when night falls that unwanted company comes lurking out, such as specters. The Patrol (a fairly large pack of wolves able to speak Common Language that are allied with the King) can at times be seen now and then, as they keep the forest safe and at peace, protecting and saving travelers passing through. If caught in a tight fix, you're best chance is calling out for help or sending some sort of sign and very likely one of the "group sentries" of The Patrol will find you.
Elare
Thwore
The Dragon City
The hidden city of the Elves. Though they themselves have many dwellings and places to call home, this one is the most well known and "famous" for it's beauty and design. As far as the elves know, anyway, for only they and they alone are allowed here. No half-breeds, humans, dwarfs, etc are permitted to enter this sanctuary of the elves. The place is very well hidden in Lynthia Forest, away from unwanted eyes and located somewhere where no one can reach even accidentally. The only way to get here is if you are a fellow elf, or for some reason an elf takes you to this place.
Very like the city of Elare but for Dwarf's. This city is located somewhere deep in the Skien Mountains, hidden to all but the dwarf's themselves obviously. Here the dwarfs work hard on their craftsmanship for themselves and to trade, though you can often find them walking about the mountain either searching for supplies or simply going out for a walk. However, NEVER try following them back to their city because you will be led astray. The dwarfs are too clever to be tricked, and to be safe they take many winding trails of the mountain before making their way to Thwore to shake off any followers.
Not a lot is known about this place, but that's mainly because it's based solely on rumor and folklore alone. No one really knows for sure if it exists or not and there have been many debates about it, but all do know that if it really did exist it was somewhere on top of the peaks of Skien Mountain, most likely the largest one in the center. Though with the high altitudes, no one can go investigate unless they were dragons themselves. It was said that a traveler has attempted to climb the mountains, and of course no one had heard from them since. Wither it's because some tragedy befell them or they did find the city and didn't want to return, or kept there, no one knows.

~These are mostly just the basic layout of Lynthia. Anyone is allowed to add to it, in this RP we're helping to make Lynthia grow, be as creative as you want! If you want to include a city or town, just say so and perhaps it can work out! Just keep within reason and your city/town will very likely be accepted.~

The RP Laws

1) No powerplaying, godmoding, Mary-suing/Gary-stuing, etc,
2) When posting one must be literate. A minimum of three-to-five sentences is at least required to pass as a suitable
post, but this doesn't mean you are allowed to only make that number of sentences each time you reply. Your posts
need to be detailed, with proper punctuation and spelling, no text-talk or anything of the like what so ever. A few
mistakes here and there are alright but "nutin lik dis". Another no-no is: He woke up. Tired, he slipped into the kitchen.
There he made a bowl of cereal.
Not at all acceptable, it's three sentences but it's poorly descriptive. Members will be
able to respond to your posts more properly if they have more to work with and get to know your character better.
3) Hate the character, not the RPer. Remember, it's only an RP, nothing in it is real.
4) Be creative! Copy-cats are a hatred of mine with a passion, when making a character I do not wish to see a remake of
a favorite character from a TV show, movie, etc, or a copy of someone else's character. Try imagining your designing a
character for a book, make the character special in their own way, go nuts! But be reasonable, too, I don't want to see a
rainbow colored monkey. The character doesn't have to be 100% of pure creativeness, but make them rememberable.
Same goes with posts, don't copy off from others.
5) Use brackets of either "()" or "[]" when speaking OOC (Out Of Character).
6) Be active. This is very important for an RP. Don't make a form if you're only planning on replying for like once a week.
Posts and replies have to be daily, at least aim for a post once a day. You'll be given three days tops to make a post,
otherwise the RP will be moved on without you. If you still haven't posted after three days with no notice, your
character will be temporarily moved from the RP. If you still don't post or return, your character will be permanently
removed. We'll still have their form up, but after a reasonable amount of time they will be deleted to make room for
more characters and will be presumed dead (only presumed, mind) or left for some reason. If you return, you are free to
come back with the same character, but you'll have to RP their return and with an explanation of their absence if one
  hadn't been provided already.
7) Be patient. Not everyone is able to sit in front of a computer all day to post right after someone else does. There are a
lot more important things than to just RP. Though activity is important, if you're busy or have other things going on you
won't be in trouble for it. I also do not want to come see a page or so filled with posts only from two people, this is not
acceptable. I appreciate the activity, but those who aren't able to stay on for as long do not was to come back and see
they have to read at least a page of RP to catch up, which normally is annoying. After about two or three posts from
each member, wait! Again members have at least three days tops to make a post. Also, do not have your character
interact with someone and leave before giving them the chance to respond because you're bored. Not only is it rude but
  it's very annoying.
8 ) I wish to avoid an all male or female RP. I want to see as close of an even number of both genders as possible, it
doesn't have to be precise like four males and four females but I don't want to see five females and only two males. If
you happen to see more of one gender, if you can try aiming to RP the other gender unless you possibly cannot.
Otherwise, depending, accepting your character could be put on hold.
9) Put "I like cookies" somewhere in your form as proof you have read the rules.
10) The rules must be followed, do not break out in fights or arguments through the RP. If there is a disagreement,
please solve the problem sensibly and reasonably. Yelling and insulting one another isn't going to get anyone
anywhere. For instance, if there was something you didn't like in someone's post, point it out politely. If you happen to
be the one whose post someone doesn't approve of, don't just blow them off and act like you can do whatever you
want, hear them out, and perhaps you both can come to an agreement.
11) Make sure to include everyone in the RP, this doesn't necessarily mean you have to include everyone in one post but
take care to not let anyone feel left out, like ignoring comments or reactions.
12) With the rule above in mind, actually make an effort in getting your character involved. Don't have them stand idly by
and let everyone else do all the work, or have them be in the "emo corner" feeling sorry for themselves and depressed
all the time. That's not fun at all. Even if your character is shy, timid, or just plain unsocial there are still ways to get
them involved, I've had plenty of characters along those lines and still managed to have them to interact with
  everyone.
13) There is a specific plot-line this RP follows, but don't let that discourage you from adding in your own ideas. Be
creative, if you have something that may be fun to try out, suggest it and perhaps it could be done. This RP needs the
help and cooperation of everyone in it, so it'll be enjoyable for all. Don't make everyone else do all the work. That in
mind, don't be an attention seeker. Don't have things happen to you just for the sake of wanting pity or attention from
the others. Also keep in mind the timing, if something is already going on don't have something else take place. It gets
annoying when there's too many going on at once to take care of.
14) Keep everything PG to PG-13ish. Fighting can occur here and though I do not mind there being blood or a
few rather gruesome wounds, I do not want to see guts and gore. Same with Romance, it's allowed but don't get
carried away like having your characters constantly making out.
15) No two people can have the same abilities/powers, no copy cats please.
16) Creatures such as werewolves, vampires, people with cat ears and wolf tail, and things along those lines
aren't allowed. There are just too many of them with little creativity. I'm also only allowing only a certain number of
animal-related characters, unless I really like your character's creativity then I may be willing to let it slide.
Also, you cannot have your character shift into a dragon or gryphon, or creatures such as that. You are, however,
allowed to take on an appearance of them as a type of humanoid. These creatures are exceptionally rare in these lands
and so make few appearances, you are permitted to have one show up now and then but don't make a habit of it.

~More rules shall be added as needed. Any violation to these rules will result from warnings to a ban from the RP, period of time depending

Goal in the RP:

Though there is a specific plot line, areas and towns, etc,
this RP is mainly going to be built on the creativity and cooperation of everyone. You're allowed to make your character
into practically anything you want, as long as they follow the guidelines and requirements. Be creative with their history and
personality, give ideas and suggestions of your own of what you think should happen and why. With everyone doing this,
the RP will be more enjoyable for all!

*Possible Vocations

Wizard/Mage
Assassin/Thief
Bounty Hunter
Patrol Recruit
The magik users of Lynthia. Those in this category have trained their mind in the mysterious ways of magik and how to use it. This vocation cannot be taken lightly, for it is a dangerous path to take. Those who aren't careful may end up not only harming themselves, but everyone around them. Because of their need to stay focus and sharpen their mind, magik users tend to not be as strong in fighting hand-to-hand combat or physical strength.
There are both similarities and differences between assassins and thieves. Though both are skilled in the art of stealth, nimbleness, and speed, thieves go as far as stealing where assassins are given jobs to target and kill specific people.
Bounty Hunters take wanted posters and go out to bring bad guys to justice, though wither they're doing it for the good of all, for the money, or a little of both depends on the person. Those in this vocation are usually always on the go and some rarely even have a place to live as they mostly stay in inns, or if they do they hardly stay there.
The Patrol is a pack of wolves that know the Common tongue (english) and protect mainly Lynthia Forest, but they also have members that go out to patrol nearby towns and cities (though they prefer the forest). It's mainly run by wolves, but other breeds can be accepted as well depending.
Knight/Soldier/Warrior
Mercenary
Alchemist
Clerics
Knights are honorable people who are proud and honest, dedicating their lives in helping others and keeping the innocent safe while abiding by the rules. Soldiers are usually guards or minor escorts, not quite as admirable or impressive as a Knight or Warrior but can still be skilled and talented. Warriors are rather a bit more rough than both Knights and Soldiers, and can sometimes just be a plain brute.
Similar to Bounty Hunters but Mercenaries are almost always in it for the money, and most of the time will help a bad guy or good guy depending on the higher payment. They take any job that involves fighting, from escorting, to being a body guard, to even aiding an army.
Before you FMA fans start squeeing and jump excitedly, this vocation isn't that kind of alchemist. Instead of drawing circles snf the like, Alchemists here use pots and other equipment they need to mix stuff together to form into something else, such as potions, weapons, and so on. Other than that little change, though, the Alchemists here pretty much fall in the same line with the ones in FMA, taking notes and studying on how to use science to reconstruct and deconstruct.
The healers of the land, they specialize solely on herb making and coming up with remedies. Clerics usually have many different ways to heal, from natural resources to spiritual. Though most of the time they're not really fighters, it doesn't mean you should take them lightly as they also at times know a bit of healing magik for themselves and others, and ways to poison, paralyze, burn, etc on their enemies. Also, because of their knowledge on how to heal the body, they are also aware of how to weaken it and know it's weak points.
Entertainer
Ninja
Scribe
Other
Actors/Actresses, music players, costume artist, anything along those lines falls into this category. These people love nothing more than to entertain (obviously) and perform for audiences of various breeds, bringing smiles and joy to people's lives. Wither they're telling jokes or performing an unfortunate tale, playing lively music or a sad tune, these people perform various jobs not just to earn their keep but just for the joy of it. Often these people are gypsies but various of people fill this vocation.
Kinda similar to assassins based on skill and stealth, but they're not always aiming to kill someone. They're trained in many martial arts skills and with knowledge of numeral of weapons to use to stun their enemies along with trap-making. Some are even capable of using their "aura" for make their attacks stronger but only to an extent.
This vocation are for those writer lovers out there. Some may write made up stories for fun, but mostly they're writing about true events and exciting tales that have really happened, relating heroic deeds and horrible tragedies. Practically anything they want the world to know, and if they come across someone interesting they may even follow to continue their writing of their adventures. Stories, music scripts, plays, whatever they wish to put down in paper they're sure to make it as exciting and thrilling to read for their audience.
Basically anything else I haven't added yet or you simply want a job such as being a cook. Just please be sure to specify what you are, and I may just add it up here to the chart. Vocations may also be added here as I remember them and as the RP continues, though you don't necessarily have to keep checking back here as I'll warn you through post.
Adventurer
*Quoted from Kutanra*
Young men and women seeking fame and glory, or perhaps wishing to see the world and gain stories and experience, adventurers make their living finding riches or performing errands for pay and recognition, though many find that their dreams of fighting Mystical Dragons and discovering great fortunes usually just end up delivering weapons or goods for a few coins.

How Money Works

[Coins]
1 cent = Bronze Shellings
25 cent = Silver Shellings
100 cents = Gold Shellings

[Bills]
10 dollars = 100 Sherlings
25 dollars = 250 Sherlings
50 dollars = 500 Sherlings
And so on.

Ability/Power/Skills: (Here you can put your "gift", however you MUST be creative! I do not wish to see "able to
control fire". That's not creative, and there are about thousands who are able to do the same thing. That's not to say
you can't use fire at all, but do something unique with it. For instance, the Human Torch in Fantastic Four was able to set
himself completely on fire. For those who have characters with no powers, you can simply put their special skills and
 techniques here.)

Minor Characters

King Jair/Age about mid-to-late thirties/Has steel-grey eyes and his hair is long, reaching to the shoulders and pointed at the ends and is a dark grey/black hair color. His eyes are sharp and hard like a blade of a sword, slightly daunting though softened with laughter if in good humor. Wears white armor as well made of dragon scales, found around an old dragon's den that is no longer inhabitant. Won't say where it is, though. Also wields a long sword that he's exceptionally gifted with, rumored to be made out of dragon scales as well but not quite proven./Calm, collected, and unphased those who judge King Jair at first glance may think of him as being very stern and strict. Which he can be, but not without reason. King Jair is an honorable fellow and treats everyone kindly, doing what he can to help, and it's because of this he's respected and loved. It doesn't, however, give anyone an excuse to break a rule. You will be punished for it and taught a lesson as great as the crime committed, so those who think they can get away with something because of Jair's kindness are sadly mistaken./Has a love for swords and though he only carries one (his favorite) he has a rather good collection of them and can wield two at once, even if both are differently designed./Played by Katsa☮Nóvarí

(I plan on making a human or elf sort of character after I think up a new power, personality, and history)

Name: Orginnaly, it was Kuriko Miru, But he changed it to 'Blacki Shokuro'
Age: 3 years (16 in human years)
Gender: Male
Race/Breed: Wolf
Ability/Power/Skills: He's capable of speaking through the mind if he concentrates enough on it, Blacki is even able to look into another person soul. It's pretty much a good ability for when he might want to understand what's going on in another's mind. He usually uses this to understand his friends better.

Appearance: Blacki is a, as his name suggest a black wolf. Though he's alot smaller than most regular wolves, and only because of the fact that he was once a Patrol Recruit is he about equally strong to the average 'regular wolf'. He was born blind in one eye so his left eye appears to be a sort of 'silvery' colour, as if it's 'dead. His chest, tail tip and muzzle are white though, making him seem abit perticuliar in appearance, considering most wolves have one pelt colour and that's all. His right eye, which isn't blind is a strange slitted navy blue. Because of his powers, he believes that this strange eye is what allows him to see into other's minds and souls.

Personality: Despite being left alone most of the time during his occupation as a Patrol Recruit, Blacki is quite the opposite as any sort of sad or extremely emotional person. The wolf is actually quite cheerful and energetic, nearly all the time. He never passes down a possible chance to have fun, or get into a sort of exciting misheif, even though that misheviousness in his personality might lead him into a terrible trouble, but he still has fun doing it all. Blacki could possibly be described as 'nuissiance' or simply someone that 'holds you up', though, if you took the time to know him you would soon realize he's quite loyal towards his friends and will do anything in his power to help them out- as long as he's still aloud to have fun that is. Though, at times Blacki can be quite mature and smart, though it doesn't just 'pop up' all of the sudden or anything. It might take him an hour or two just to think of something 'smart' or something that could get him out a situation.

History: Blacki was orginnaly part a Patrol Recruit, though he sort of simply 'wandered away' from that, but it was abit more complicated that him just saying 'I quit, good bye or anything of the sort. Some could say he was sort of an 'outcast' there, but he's cheerful despite all that.
When Blacki left, he actually had to think up of a plan, and be serious about it for the first time in awhile. This was when he discovered his power to read minds and look at how other people were feeling. Because of this power; he was able to sort of simply 'walk away from it all' and become a sort of rougue. Though, rather than 'running away' he perfers the term of 'retired at a young age'. Back then when Blacki was about a half a year younger he suspected that they wouldn't mind, and he still believes that; though, he does tend to try to avoid Lytnheia forest.

Vocation: Other (Past Patrol Recruit Wolf?)
Strengths: He's able to speak in english, and because he was once a Patrol Recruit he's slightly stronger than most 'normal' wolves.
Weaknesses: His misheviousness usually leads him into terrible trouble, and most of the time he isn't able to fight it off by himself. Blacki is also blind in one eye.
Extra: Nothing extra or anything~ oh yes! I almost forgot! BlackI like cookies.

Awesome character! There's just one teenie-tiny thing I was wondering you could change, and that was age. If he was a past patrol recruit, he'd have to be at least two years to be a member as it's a dangerous job, and any younger he'd still be considered a pup. He could of been in training, which limits him of what he was expected to do, but if you wanted him to have used to actually work alongside them he'd have to be at least two years. This could simply be fixed by changing his age to "three" instead of two, and don't worry at that age he'd still be about 16 in human years, at least judging by this source: http://webkinzbeach.gooforum.com/t2317-wolf-age-calculator-d (http://webkinzbeach.gooforum.com/t2317-wolf-age-calculator-d)

Once that's fixed, simply add in your code and you shall be accepted!

This RP sounds interesting o3o

Name: Velleity "Vell" Camire
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Race/Breed: Human
Ability/Power/Skills: She has a strange ability that she believes to be mostly worthless. She is able to read the emotions of others through colored auras that surround the person. If someone is furious, she can see it with a dark red that swirls about around them; if happy, a bright green, etc. Over time she learned that she could change those colors and alter their emotions. The most use she's gotten from her gift was a great distraction to get a vendor away from his stall. There are many colors for emotions that she has never seen before, and is often times learning new, more specific ones and how to control them. She finds it harder to manipulate stronger emotions.

Appearance: Velleity is an average girl when it comes to looks. She has shoulder length dark brown hair parted far to the side, and bangs that always seem to get in her face. Her hair curls at the ends naturally. She has slate grey eyes that always seem to shift around or hold a wary and cautious stare to anyone they meet, even if that is not her intention. She is rather pale and has a very slim build. She is an average height, and has long legs. Her face and body have a few small scars due to a particularly nasty fight where the opposing side had access to a knife. She normally wears a black hood to conceal her face, connected to a plain, dark blue, short-sleeved shirt in a fashion similar to a hoodie. She wears black pants that have seen better days, long fingerless gloves that go up to her elbows, and a pouch that she connects to her pants to hold money and other things that she carries on her person. Usually she is bare-footed.

Personality: Vell is wary of others, choosing to stay at a distance and only interact to get an opportunity to pickpocket them or get information. She can be quite awkward when speaking to others, with little to say and few words spoken during conversation. But this changes if someone comes to her with the intent of buying some of the items she has "acquired", or if she gets used to being around them. She is quite out-of-tune with her own emotions despite her ability to see others. (She doesn't get angry or upset often, with only the occasional smile messing up her perfectly calm indifference) She can't grasp the concept of ideas that are "intangible", in a sense. (Love- being an emotion she cannot see, friendship, trust, etc.) She is quite curious despite it all and can't keep herself away from anything that piques her interest. (Be it an item or a person) Vell has a slightly optimistic view on things, especially considering her upbringing. She is very observant of her surroundings, barely missing any details in case they become important to her later.

History: Vell grew up by herself at a young age. By the age of 8, her parents both were gone, leaving her to her fate by dropping her off in the middle of Larth. She doesn't know why, and honestly doesn't care to find out. She has theories, and does think about her parents from time to time, but doesn't chase her ideas. Some of the locals decided to help her out when she was young, mainly for teaching her to be a good distraction when luring in travelers or things of the like. Vell didn't complain since it was a way to get food and get good with the local criminals. Eventually she became one in the community of outlaws; picking a house in the town and making a decent living. Although many nights she does go to sleep with an empty stomach, it doesn't stop her from getting up the next morning.

Vocation: Vell is a thief, and doesn't see herself doing anything else.
Strengths: She is incredibly good at being quiet and is very agile due to years of training. She has a way of disappearing quickly when caught and is pretty fast. She is good at fighting with a knife, including throwing them with somewhat good aim.
Weaknesses: She is terrible with others when it comes to talking (unless it involves business, then she puts on her game face.), never had much of any schooling (So she can hardly read/write), does not have brute strength, and gets sick easily. She never learned to swim.
Extra: Vell lives in one of the run-down houses on the outskirts of Larth. It is two stories high (the second floor being a simple loft where she sleeps) with a ladder to get up to the second floor. The house has stone walls that are crumbling from ivy that began growing up the sides. It has nothing but dirt for a floor on the ground level, and wood floors on the loft. Some storage, a decent bed, fireplace, and a table with two chairs are the extent of furniture. (Aside from a safe hidden in the ground behind a dresser.) Vell normally is away from this house on "business" trips to Rien or the castle town, but does return to catch up on rest, say hi to some of the people that she has grown accustomed to around the town, and deposit some things she "found" into the floor safe that she does not plan on selling. Oh and Vell likes cookies- and so do I!

@Blacki: Oh no no no, not that code, this code: [ code ] [ / code ] but without the spaces XD
Makes it a whole lot easier for me to copy and past it to put it up like how I have mine lol
As soon as you've put the code (please make sure it's at the bottom of your original form) I'll put it right up! ^.^

@Calamity: Character is accepted! As long as you keep rule one in mind, her ability should be okay, just don't go overboard or anything haha (same sort of goes for Blacki's too with the mind reading) x3
Just add in a code with your form beneath the original like I'm having Blacki do, and I'll put the application right up!

So far, Katsa is pleased! Love seeing the creativity of not only the characters themselves but what they're able to do =D
I'm going to wait a bit longer to see if anyone else is joining in, then we can start!

Edited: I just realized I forgot to add something to my character >.>
Here it is!

Quote
Also carries a "box-like" contraption on their back that represents a back pack. With how it's woven together, it
looks light but is actually heavier because it contains all of their books, notes, chemicals, and other equipment with
hidden slots and such for
their materials and ingredients. Though the box looks a little fragile, and the supplies
inside being more so, Mask had swallowed some of
their pride and sought out a wizard to perform a spell on the
box that'll keep it and everything inside safe from harm, from breaking to falling out, or being stolen.

Name: Calid Faulkan
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race/Breed: Human
Ability/Power/Skills: Not gifted. Has some talent in sword fighting and can wield a battle axe

Appearance: Chocolatey/Dark brown hair and eyes. Wears a dark red shirt with a cowl, thick leather gloves, iron toed boots, big shorts with leather strap to attach items to and a small burlap bag of spices hang round his neck (Which he...acquired) His face is starting to show more angular, mature features but there's still a boyish element about him. His hair is quite spikey, he just keeps it short though it is very thick and a few large locks hang down into his face, which can obstruct his view sometimes during a fight, if he is near water he usually gets some on his hands to plaster his hair back before a fight. He doesn't have any noticeable scars since he has been lucky enough not to gain any serious injuries.
(In this RP he doesn't have the cape or claws on the gloves)
http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/192/f/a/calid__runescape_fc__by_kutanra-d56wajn.png (http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/192/f/a/calid__runescape_fc__by_kutanra-d56wajn.png)

Personality: Calid is brash and can often be called foolhardy, as with most young men he believes he is invincible, Even though in the past three years he has had some close shaves he hasn't gained wisdom from these encounters yet. He has a good sense of honor and loves to help others if it means he is recognized as a hero though due to his father's doting Calid was never scolded for stealing as a child, believing it was just play, thus no one realized Calid has kleptomania. If he passes by a house and something inside catches his eye he will do everything he can to get it, though over the years he has gained a lot of skill and usually goes unnoticed. The less the risk the more the temptation. When in combat or if following a plan (he's not the type to come up with his own if in a group) he is confident but this can easily be shaken if something goes wrong as he cannot adapt very well.

History: Calid was fortunate to have a doting father, though he doesn't really know his mother, she was a great adventurer who accidentally fell pregnant and left him with his Farmer Father, he claims adventuring is in his blood and he is destined to follow in her footsteps (aka avoiding getting a real job). After being sent from his home town aged 14 by his father to escape a widespread illness he ended up with a family friend in a settlement dedicated to training warriors, where he learnt to fight among other life skills. Eventually he moved on from there at the age of 16 and has spent some time helping others and trying to make his way in the world. He has spent three years going from kingdom to kingdom, doing 'quests' and errands for a living and for fun, plus making a little on the side from 'acquring' items and money(aka stealing). His travels brought him to Lynthia, where he is currently staying in an inn in the Castle Town.

Vocation: Adventurer
Strengths: Good at Close Combat and can use a bow though not totally reliable
Weaknesses: His kleptomania means he will often be side tracked by wanting to get an item he likes, especially if caught
Extra: He has surprisingly good penmanship (means he has beautiful Calligraphy)

Oh! Herp Derp XDD. I''ve stuck the code below my application x3.

I'll make sure not to go 'overboard' or anything with Blacki's powers. Really, right now he just uses it to understand people better, and most of the time he has it 'off'. Meaning he isn't constantly reading minds and saying exactly what others are thinking xDDD.
I think he's had a little expirience with that, probaly realized people find it creepy oWo.

@Calamity&Blacki: Your characters are now up! ^.^

@Kutanra: I love your character! Especially the little twist how he has a tendency to steal when he usually acts heroic xD
There's just some things I was wondering you could fix. For Appearance, Personality, and History they each need at least five sentences.
For his vocation you can just leave it as Adventurer. Thief doesn't need to be there as he only really just takes things every now and then :3

((Sorry for the hold up everyone! I like slept through the entire day, and when I finally got on my internet connection was being a jerk >.>'

ANYWAY, here I am now [very late/early]. I've added the "money chart" to the introduction page so no one can become confuse about that part, and so you don't have to go all the way back there [even though it's only one page xD] here it is!

Quote
How Money Works

[Coins]
1 cent = Bronze Shellings
25 cent = Silver Shellings
100 cents = Gold Shellings

[Bills]
10 dollars = 100 Sherlings
25 dollars = 250 Sherlings
50 dollars = 500 Sherlings
And so on.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The coloring on the "bills" is to show that the color of the bills is actually white with very dark blue print. If you want to know value of items, simply think of what their value may be around the modern day, and just add an extra zero to it. Simple, no? Didn't want to make it complicated for anyone, and I know I don't want to spend half an hour calculating prices when I want to post instead xD
Oh, and I've also changed the character selection very slightly, just changed it so it's in alphabetical order x3

@Kuta: Your character is accepted, by the way!

@Calamity: To answer your question, yes, RPing may now begin! It was going to start a whole lot earlier but as my excuse said, I couldn't get on D:
Unless I slept walk and slept post~

Alright, now to start RPing! I think the best place to begin will be Lyn Castle Town. The season is late spring with summer approaching, the weather bright and sunny and the sky dotted with clouds [not quite empty but no warning of rain to come]. I'll add season and weather by "Story Thus Far", and move that right beneath the introduction paragraph of Lynthia so it's easier to fine.))

It was not at all surprising to find the Town bustling with activity, in fact the only way it'd be surprising to anyone was if they'd never been in a large town before. Even so, the people were polite enough to avoid ramming into each other and pushing others out of their way to get somewhere, and if they happen to bump into someone they gave their apologies before returning back to their path. Because of this Mask had little trouble slinking through the crowd, hoping Their backpack wasn't a bother. Once They raised Their hand to check that Their hood remained in place, before lowering it back to Their side. Mostly a habit, very rarely would the hood manage to slip off.

There was a kind of determination to Their step, as if Mask had a set destination. They were there on business, though of what remained a mystery. Outwardly Their eyes (the only thing visible) hid all information, but those clever enough may see that this person was holding some kind of... secret. Despite these facts, Mask held a steady pace and kept to the crowd as if trying to blend in. This would both be a challenge and a piece of cake. A piece of cake because Mask hardly came here, a challenge because though They rarely do show up it'd be difficult to forget Them as They're always wearing that hood of Theirs, and so these people that knew who Mask was would also know that there was a specific reason for Their coming. There always was.

The path They were taking appeared to lead to the Cropper Fish Inn, which was still a good feet away. At one point Mask stopped in Their tracks, keeping close so a nearby wall to keep out of everyone's way, Their silvered eyes studying ahead. They remained this way for a moment or two, until finally they began heading off again.

((Hopefully I made this interesting enough x3

Also, here's the King's mini-bio, which I'll be adding in the character selection as "minor" characters:

You will be punished for it and taught a lesson as great as the crime committed, so those who think they can get away with something because of Jair's kindness are sadly mistaken./Has a love for swords and though he only carries one (his favorite) he has a rather good collection of them and can wield two at once, even if both are differently designed.

Haunted eyes stared ahead unseeing as the boy trod through the Castle Town crowd, his sword dragging along the floor with his exhausted stoop, causing other to complain of the noise. He made his way slowly through the throngs of people until the Inn loomed in sight. Holding up a shaking hand he pressed it flat against the wooden door, pushing it open with the last of his might. Upon his entry he spotted a group of dwarves who had traveled here for trade some time ago. One of them looked up, spotting him immediately "Ahaha! Welcome back Lad! We didn't expect to see you alive!"

Colour flushed the youth's face "You tricked me. You left me for dead." He panted, shuffling forwards with as much strength as he could muster. The group was still laughing heartily. "We didn't do anything lad, it was you who chose to follow Grundor to Thwore, we told you a human couldn't do it, but since you're one of the few we've seen that survived why don't you join us for a drink?"

Despite the ridicule he was being put through Calid didn't have any money on him and a drink right now sounded like heaven. He slumped into a chair, taking a hearty swig from the glass put before him. Firery heat rose in his throat and he spat out the vile liquid, coughing and hacking as his tormentors laughed louder. "What's the matter boy? Can't handle a Dwarven Stout?"

Calid groaned, letting his head hit the table "I hate Dwarves...."

Bare feet kept a brisk pacing for the young thief while grey eyes shifted to each figure in the crowded town. She wanted to pull her hood over her head, but didn't want to stand out with something that said "I'm hiding something." so blatantly. The market was busy at this time. People bought from the various vendors who were selling a multitude of goods ranging from practical, to luxuries. Bright colors of yellow and green danced in her eyes of happy souls eager to spend some of their hard-earned money. Soon her color would be that too, but she would be spending a good deal of her money in the Inn to rent a room instead of on trinkets in the market. Maybe a bit would be spent on food too if she avoided those areas while walking around.

The crowd brushed against her, the mumblings of apologies barely reaching her ears. Why they apologized for tapping her shoulder accidentally was beyond her comprehension. It didn't bother her at all, much like her hand brushing against a back pocket or open satchel didn't seem to bother them. At least for the moment. She had occasionally pinpointed a voice in the crowd, "I swear I had my money pouch!!" They would cry despairingly, "I can't have lost it! That was a month's pay!" She could never hold back a smirk as she walked off, their pay rattling in her pocket.

But on her first day of her visit to the Castle Town, Vell was having no such luck in finding a neat pouch containing that much. She had retrieved enough sherlings for a room though, and a small golden necklace that a man had been too foolish as to leave half-dangling from his pocket. It was probably a gift for a special someone. But it was hers now, and it would probably be re-sold to someone that could hold onto it better. Maybe for some sweets. She loved sweets, but usually didn't get enough shellings to waste them on a treat. And sweets were usually sold inside bakeries and other shops as they would melt out in the heat. So there weren't any easy ways to get them during the day.

She let out a long yawn, her trip to the city having exhausted her. Maybe she would turn in early and actually get to work more tomorrow. She didn't want to be too tired to focus, after all. She began walking to the direction of the... what was it called? Cropper Fish Inn? What a terrible name. She thought plainly before her eyes hit the fruit stand. Hey, it was on the way, so why not? She went over to the carts full of apples, her eyes looking up towards the man running the stand. She scanned the apples, picking out a couple of good ones and examining them like she was planning on purchasing them. The vendor watched her for a moment until another potential customer began asking about prices. Discretely, Vell placed two red apples in the pouch with her hand opposite the man, her other hand closest to him setting back down the one he saw her pick up, just for good measure in case he was watching her out of the corner of his eye.

She simply walked off with none the wiser, her stomach immediately grumbling. I know, I know. I'll eat these in a minute. She promised to her stomach quietly as she sped up her pace to the Inn. As it came into view and the fruit stall disappeared from her view, she dug her hand into the pouch and pulled out one of the apples, wiping it off on her shirt before taking a bite. She pushed the door to the Inn open, her eyes catching each figure. The innkeeper tending to some people at the counter, the dwarves laughing at a man, and a few more un-noteworthy people sitting in the chairs. She went up to the counter as the people walked off, looking to the innkeeper, "I'd like a room."

(Sorry for being so late guys! X.x

@Calm.
Don't shorten your roleplay posts~ I like good long RP posts, x3)

A seemingly and rather simple Akita sort of dog strolled down the streets in a merry way. There seemed nothing quite 'out of the ordinary' about the canine, other than his odd colours;  as most species of dogs or even wolves sustained one coloured, maybe blended in with another; but the blended colours were hard to see. Though, this particular canine sustained two different colours, that were quite the opposite of each other. The male sustained the two colours black and white; his muzzle was white, thid also spread down towards his chest. Everything else was a black except the hardly audible white around his eyes.
The city's folk though didn't seem to point out that his pelt colours were odd or anything, they actually seemed to pay him no mind, and simply wavered around him in quite the polite manner so he could get through without crawling through people's legs. There was a terribly good chance the locals would pay him mind if he decided to speak in their tongue; english. But, right now the wolf simply wanted to be seen as a well-behaved dog, the one that most people would find 'excellent' or 'almost human'; as he seemed to be using no 'Canine-like actions' at the moment.
In a sort of almost 'arupt' way, his stomach let out an 'echoing' growl, which resounded in a about a mere two seconds. Just then, the canine noticed exactly how powerful his hunger was; He had sure took his time too.
"I am always hungry when I walk into a city....but I'm not when I walk into a forest!" The though 'popped' into the wolf's mind as he scowled abit to himself. He a somewhat 'strange' habbit of scolding himself for things within the boundaries of his mind; it was abit more abnormal for wolves anyway; as they usually saw themselves as 'perfect' or they 'held no flaw'. He found it stupid really how alot of them bragged about their 'suprerioty', most of his species had a 'not as awkward' habbit of doing that.
The wavering scent of food coming from nearly every vender he passed. He might of gotten 'suddenly hungry' in cities or mere towns because of simple things like food he passed up, or anything related to 'food'; which usually included cattle, and although he was well-behaved he sometimes would go abit 'wild' and eat a chicken or two.
"I can not comprehend why I don't just walk into someplace and talk... It'd be an easy way to get food." The wolf continued to talk himself within the boundaries of his mind. The most recent thought was quite a good idea, as there was a place that seemed like it sold rations he hungered for not too far away.
The black and white figure couldn't help but notice someone enter what seemed to look like a pub. He quickly decided not to enter, as pubs usually sold alchoholic drinks; which he had no craving for. And Besides; it looked like the place had a group of dwarves in it, and dwarves were something he simply despised.
"Inn's usually have food..." He couldn't help but think this as the looming figure of quite a large Inn caught his sight. Maybe he'd even be able to talk his way into a free room for one night. Well, he might aswell go for it right now; as the door someone had opened not too long ago was begining to close. Dogs can't exactly open doors, and he doubted scratching at it would do him any good.
He began to run, his pawpads making quick and sweet 'thump'ing noises against the ground. Almost as soon as it was about to close he managed to get his head; body; and tail, though the tip of it was a little bit late; safely in.
"Hm! Ya think you can spare any food please?!" He said in his slightly 'childish' or simply 'energetic and carefree' voice to the inkeeper. He said this almost imeediantly after someone with a strange hood had asked for a room in a much politer way.
"I hope this works, last time I got chased out because the inkeeper thought he was hearing things.."

((@Calamity: Yes, please do not make your posts any shorter! I love long posts ^.^

@Kutanra: Thanks again for the map, you did an awesome job! Hopefully I'll have my own version up soon though it'll take some time, but for now I'll put yours at the introduction page for everyone to see with credit of it's making going to you of course x3))

The crowd became a bit more thick when Mask neared the inn, mostly because people were beginning to enter and exit through the doorway at once. They were rather surprised to find a canine (looked to be a wolf but it's coloring and size suggested otherwise) run toward the door before it was shut all the way, barely making it through. Mask came in just seconds later, pushing it lightly open and casting the animal an odd glance before looking around. Not that canines, or even wolves, were rare around the area, but normally they didn't go inside buildings.

Despite the many previous exits that have been made, the inn was still quite full. Normally a traveler would be concerned of a room being left open but not Mask; no, They weren't here for that. Like a ghost in the bustling room They passed, slipping by a table of rather good humored dwarfs and a downtrodden man. Their destination was the inn counter, where stools had been placed to form a kind of "bar", but there was a moments hesitation at the sight of a female figure requesting a room. It was only for a second, though, and Mask simply went further down to take a seat.

"Alright, miss, that'll be two silver Shellings and 300 Sherlings, for an overnight stay," Mask overheard the innkeeper say to the female, about only in his mid-twenties with a crop of black hair and blue eyes, and of average height and weight. "For extra five bronze Shellings, you can get a meal."
The innkeeper's gaze (Mask recalled him as being named Lann) was momentarily drawn away from the young woman before him to the wolf that entered his inn. A rather quizical look passed his eyes, but he was quick to hide it and offer a polite smile. "Spare food? I'm afraid not, good sir, unless you have Shellings and Sherlings to spare in return. Or can pay for it in some other way."

A wolf needing to ask for food? Mask couldn't help but think with an inward chuckle. Now that's a story. You'd think they could catch their own grub, at least better than we can. I wonder if he's from The Patrol, he can speak like most of them, that's for sure. But then he really wouldn't have to ask for food. Is he a loner, perhaps?

Mask broke out of Their thoughts when another entry was made. The person to show up this time was human, and they took one quick sweep of the room before their eyes rested on Mask. Spotting them, they walked right toward Them and took a seat. "Hello there, Ralf," Mask smiled cheekily, Ralf returned a smile though halfheartedly. His shaven face was flushed and he raised a hand to wipe sweat off their brow, taking off their hat in the same motion to reveal dusty brown hair. They had obviously been in a hurry.

"So, what have you been up to, my friend?" Mask carried on the conversation as if unaware of the condition, taking a swig of Their tankard while passing Ralf's his own (the drinks had been delivered after being ordered sometime before by one of the waitresses). Ralf took his drink gratefully and began to chug it, holding it in midair for about five minutes before slamming it back down, empty, on the counter with a loud gasp. "You will not believe my day today!" he answered with a rising note of anger to his voice. "Is that so?" Mask returned with a smirk. However, keeping the expression, they added in a very low whisper meant for only Ralf to hear, "Keep it down, will you? I don't want to draw attention to us..."

"I think the mutt is taking care of that for us..." Ralf returned, though he was more quiet. He leered inside his tankard as if trying to will it to make more ale to calm his nerves, and though that obviously wasn't successful he was content enough in taking Mask's own offered drink. "Ah, gotta hate those rough days," Mask went on while ordering new drinks. Once the waitress was on her way, again They added in a low tone, "So today's results?"

"No better than they were last time," Ralf scowled. He wasn't chugging his drink this time but was still leering inside it, slouched forward as if a weight was bearing down on him. "In fact they were worse. I nearly lost my life today... twice!" No surprise there... Mask thought to themselves in disappointment. I'd be losing it if I thought someone like Ralf were able to keep up the charade for long. He's good, but not that good...

"By the way, I quit."

Ralf's sudden statement broke Mask out of Their thoughts. "You what?"
"I quit," he repeated. "I ain't doing this job for you anymore. If you need help that bad, you ought to find someone else to take care of it. I'm tired of risking my life every time to find out absolutely nothing just because you need to 'avoid being seen' or whatever excuse you're using." Leaning back, Ralf was reaching a hand into a pocket, and when he withdrew it a piece of folded parchment was in his grasp. "Here," he handed it to Mask. "That was all I managed to scavenged. Just pay me what you owe me already, and I'll be on my way."

Mask took the piece of parchment. Swiftly and skillfully they parted it open, eyes flicking across the text, before refolding it again. "I'll pay you full price," They said, putting the parchment in a pocket of their own. "And the drinks are on me." A decent size pouch was then placed on the counter in front of Ralf, Mask taking a drink of Their tankard when it arrived. Ralf picked up the pouch and balanced it in his hand, before slipping it to his belt. Once he did that he stood. "Wish I could say it was a pleasure doing business with ya'," he said, "but it wasn't." That said, he took one final drink of his ale before leaving the inn.

((Sorry that got a bit "rough" in the end, but I hope it got the point across xD
Quick note, Ralf's mention of calling Blacki a "mutt" was just him expressing some of his anger, no offense intended! XD

Though the conversation was suppose to be secret, everyone's characters are allowed to have found out some bit of it, like Blacki with thoughts [he's also permitted to hear the ones where Mask was wondering if he was part of The Patrol or a loner], Velleity with colors and probably hearing, and with Calid probably just trying to eavesdrop.))

"Lighten up lad, you aren't the first one we've foxed. And you did well to make it past two whole mountains--"
"I hope you've had your fun mocking me. I don't need your patronizing too, I didn't train for two years just to be the jester to vertically challenged blacksmiths!"

He stood and began to walk away, a little woozy from the strong ale. He blinked several times when he saw a wolf speaking with the inn keeper. Maybe he'd had a little too much?

"You will not believe my day!" The angry outburst made Calid turn from his spot pondering the dog. Two  figures sat at the bar, heads close together speaking in hushed tones. The boy way about to go back to watching the wolf when the sound of coins hitting wood caught his attention. Quickly grabbing up an abandoned tankard he made it appear he was strolling through the room. As the man set off for the exit he bumped into him, attempting to snatch the heavy pouch from his belt but it was tied too tightly, clearly this guy really wanted to hold onto that cash.

He decided to keep an eye on the one who had provided the coins, perhaps they had some more stashed away on them? Taking a seat a few stools down he nursed the beer, examining his mark from the corner of his eye, he couldn't tell their gender, nor did the hood allow him to see any part of the face. They didn't seem to be carrying anything, unless it was hidden under their robes. Calid was no master thief and he didn't want to face a challenge like that.

He looked about him for want of anything better to do. The next one along was another hooded figure, but hers hung down on her back and he saw a youthful female who had one of those restless demeanors. His eyes narrowed, people who fidgeted so much were often non too trustworthy he had learned; he subconsciously let one hand drift down over his goods pouch, his foot touching the expensive battle axe enough to feel its weight and notice any absence. He was probably being ridiculous, she was probably a very nice young lady. He kept his narrowed stare none-the-less.

(Don't worry he doesn't have any special senses, if I see anyone who moves and darts their eyes a lot I get wary too XD
Man I am out of shape, I need to really kick into gear to get my posts as long as you guys
Oh and Blacki, could you put more line breaks in your posts please? I personally find it hard to read text walls)

((:'D Okay))

Vell reached a hand into the pouch, pulling out the requested amount while the innkeeper's attention was caught by another voice. With a hint of a frown on her face, and with much hesitation to part with her money, she placed it on the counter. God, she barely had enough to rent a room for one night. To get a good meal and maybe a few things to take home, she would have to get out and work for it later, and for most of tomorrow. At least you can catch up on some rest in a little bit. she thought with as much optimism as she could muster. She would have told the innkeeper that she would not be buying a meal, but came to the conclusion that the amount on the counter would be enough to show that, and so didn't bother. And to not interrupt, she decided she would hang around down around the bar for a while before asking about which room would be hers for the night.

Her grey eyes followed to the other voice that had spoken next to her, a quizzical look appearing as she noticed it was a dog... or wolf? Vell really couldn't tell which. She blinked in confusion, knowing for a fact that she heard it say something. Okay, I need to go sit down. she thought, shrugging it off and making her way over to one of the empty tables away from the bar and taking a seat. She took a bite of her apple before digging around in her pouch and pulling out the necklace that she had pick-pocketed earlier that day. It was quite a simple piece of jewelry, but nice. Gold, with a small pendant that looked like a leaf, a decent sized emerald in the middle. I can't believe how lucky I was. She couldn't help but let herself smile while staring at it, but her attention was drawn away as a man entered the inn, obviously searching for someone. She watched him while she slipped the necklace back into the pouch.

He seemed to have found who he was looking for, as he walked over and took a seat next to them. As soon as he had finished a drink, a faint red swirled around him. Curious at the man's sudden anger, Vell allowed herself to listen in. "You will not believe my day today!" The other one replied, but Vell was too far away to hear the words clearly, and the noise from the dwarves did not help her concentration. After a few more moments, the man handed his companion a piece of paper, and they replied with a pouch of what Vell assumed was payment. She hadn't caught any more words of the conversation before the man had already left the inn. How interesting... Vell looked away from them for a moment, taking another bite of her apple and let her eyes wander over to the wolf-dog again, wondering if it would say something more, or if it had really said something in the first place. Well, the innkeeper did reply to it, so I can only assume that I'm not crazy.

She attempted to take another bite of the apple before realizing that all that was left was the core. Slowly, she got up again and walked over to a bin, throwing it away and turning back to go sit down. She stopped, noticing the man that had been over by the dwarves from was staring at her warily. She watched him back for a moment, her eyes catching the move he made to secure any valuables. Vell couldn't keep eye contact very long, feeling a hint of uneasiness. Did he know something, or was he just cautious around all strangers? But I'm halfway across the room. she thought. Her eyes darted off back to where she had been sitting, her body following its path. She plopped back into the chair and inwardly sighed. This place has some really strange characters. I think I'll make my next trip to Rien.

"Sherlings and Shellings, two things I don't have." he muttered under his breath, flicking his somewhat tail across his paw in an annoyed manner. "I could spill something out of him if I told him I was a past Patrol Recruit..." This sometimes would work on the people at vendors, but usually he didn't have to 'go as far as this' to get a meal. "You couldn't spare abit for a past Patrol Recr-" the canine cut himself off, though he had said enough for the innkeeper too figure out 'what he used to be'. Praticly all his attention was on the two conversating about, something; though he couldn't hear exactly what they were saying.
The wolf, who looked slightly like more of a dog couldn't help but 'tune in' on the two's thoughts- as he could only pick up little by little, even with his sensitive ears. It might of been that he was a sort of 'distance' away to from two; there was a terribly good chance that 'this was why he couldn't hear their conversation.'
Whatever thoughts he wanted to listen to seemed to flow from the two's mind into his, though not technichally, as the two still had that 'memory' or thought left in their mind.
"Keep it down, will you? I don't want to draw us attention."
"I think the mutt is taking care of that for us."
The first two lines of this conversation, well the first two he heard anyway were quite offensive towards him, especcialy the second line. Mutt?! What kind of insult was that anyway. "If I wasn't so nice I would sic myself on her..." the only thing he could  think of was a sort of 'joke', and he apparantly found it abit funny, as he managed to burst into a small chuckling fit; which fourtantly didn't last forever.
"Oh yes, and umm, excuse me miss, or mister, I haven't figured out which.... but I'd perfer it if you wouldn't call me a 'mutt'." The canine finnaly broke into the conversation, which seemed abit weird, though wolves or dogs talking all together was weird it's self.
"I'm Blacki, use that name."

(Sorry for being late, and I know it's sort of short X.X/color]

I was unable to get it until now~

@Blacki: It was actually Ralf that called Blacki a 'mutt', not Mask, but no worries I can work that into my post! ^.^))

The drink They had ordered stood forgotten beside Them, really They weren't much of a drinker and only did so on more special occasions or if They really needed it, like now. It looks like I'll have to take care of this on my own... Mask was thinking now, elbows propped on the counter with hands clasped together just beneath Their nose. Silver eyes gazed intently ahead, thinking and plotting on the next move. However, something had caught Their attention. There was a new presence up by the bar. Looking toward him now, Mask thought They recognized him as the guy sitting with the dwarfs, why was he sitting up here now? That didn't really matter at the moment, though, for Mask was thinking of something else.

Though young, he held features of experience, with a battle axe that appeared to have been used more than once to strengthen it. Signs of travel was obvious on his clothing along with battle, though Mask couldn't quite detect any scars which was a disappointment. Even so, They had heard bits and pieces of the conversation that was going on between the dwarfs, and it sounded promising...

"Hm?" The thoughts were broken by another voice, and looking to investigate They were surprised to find that it was the wolf again. A sly smirk spread itself upon Their visage at the wolf's words, but they gave a shake of Their head. "It wasn't me that referred you as such, my dear wolf, but my friend. Even so, I apologize on his behalf. He had a very rough day today, and his manners weren't about him."

"Err, I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid just because you were a Patrol Recruit, it doesn't make the food free," this was Lann again, speaking to Blacki. A brow was lowered and a frown had appeared upon the young man's visage, definitely an uncertain expression. He was probably wondering if Blacki really was a Patrol Recruit, or that if he was why he would try using the title into getting a free meal. Patrol Recruits never did such a thing, they were like Knights in wolf forms. Work, however, kept him busy, and he left Black and Mask to their discussion.

Mask was listening in on the whole thing, and an idea was forming in Their mind. If played correctly, They may be able to hit two birds with one stone. "Ah, I see you're having some money trouble, eh, Blacki?" They said, turning in Their seat to face the wolf. "At least I was correct in saying you're a wolf, I couldn't quite tell, but this works out." Keeping the smirk, Mask leaned nonchalantly back in Their seat, using their arms to keep them propped against the table. "You see, we both need something. You need a good meal, and I need a certain 'job' taken cared of," the last part was raised a bit high, for Mask was hoping to catch more than just one attention, like the male sitting just a few stools down from Them for instance, "perhaps you and I can work something out, hm? If you agree to help me out, I'll pay for your meal."

Secretly They hoped that the wolf didn't notice the large wad of cash They had paid Ralf, for that had been most of Their money and They were going broke... In fact They may not able able to pay for more than one person to getting the job done if They did manage to hire more, but they didn't have to know that, now, did they?

"Here's the key to your room, miss," a waitress had stopped by Vell's table, placing a bronze colored key in front of her. "The innkeeper, Lann, would like to apologize for the wait, it's been a busy night." Giving a cheery smile, the waitress left the key there before going off to attend to her duties. Truth be told, that was only half the truth. It appeared that someone had stolen the key, apparently an old guest who was mad at being thrown out cause he refused to pay. This, of course, resulted in a very angry Lann, and the culprit was found right outside in the alleyway taking a swig of some stolen beer as well. Within five minutes, the thief was tossed in a trash bin with two black eyes and a bloody nose. The key had been retrieved, and leaving the beer by the trash bin Lann took the coins that were owed and bid the thief "have a nice day!"

((What I'm having planned at the moment is having Mask "hire" Blacki, Calid, and/or Vell for the job Ralf quit on, at least the rest of it. But in the end, when it's all taken cared of, Mask ends up being unable to pay all of them XD
Though They'll say They'll pay them back eventually, and that they can stick by Them until then lol

That's a plan, at least, as to why they're sticking together. Thoughts? Suggestions? Dislikes?))

When she noticed his stare he felt trapped, having no choice but the keep eye contact. The way her eyes darted made him even more wary but eventually he sighed and turned back to the beer, she was probably just scared by the sight of some guys with a battle axe giving her a death glare.

Is this what he had left home for? Entertaining Dwarves and scaring young women while he drank away his worries? He'd done several quests, besides the mindless errands and thought he was getting somewhere, at least being above all this.

"I need a certain job take care of." Calid's attention snapped to the two mysterious figures, the black wolf supposedly ex-patrol and the hooded being. Every muscle tensed. The amount that other guy had walked off with, he'd be set for a couple of months. He cautiously tilted his head; his fringe falling over the brown eyes to shield the curious spark lighting them.

Shifting his eyes about he slid along one stool to hear the conversation better. Was the wolf help enough? Surely this dog couldn't help totally, he didn't even have thumbs for goodness sake! As he shifted he heard the scrape of wood on wood and saw his axe had hooked on a support rung of the stool, dragging it toward him, he frantically tried to unhook it. He shook the clunky object wildly in panic before it finally came loose and he ran his fingers through his hair in an "I-meant-to-do-that" manner.

(I'm not sure exactly what Vell is going to do, but I like the idea :] Oh, and I fixed the colors. Sorry about that ^^; and thanks for the suggestions!)

Vell nodded to the waitress, only half-interested in what she was saying. Her hand reached out to grab the bronze key, but she didn't put it away. She spun it around lazily on the table, her head propped up with one arm. Her real focus was on the talking wolf-dog and the hooded figure speaking with it. She saw no colors of interest; a neutral air around both of them. But something was up after that spat with the angry man. Who was the hooded person? Why were they interested in the talking canine? And what sort of money did they carry around with them. That certainly wasn't a small sum of money they paid for that piece of paper... I wonder what the actual job was? I could use some money myself... She thought with an inward sigh. She always got by by herself, but was it just her, or were people getting more cautious with their valuables? Safe-boxes that vendors had in their stalls had more advanced locks, at least here in the castle town, and some people were learning how easy it was to get pickpocketed. She knew for a fact that the man with the necklace wouldn't keep things so much in the open in the future. Unless, of course, he blamed his loss on it falling out of his pocket and not so much stolen.

Vell turned her attention back to the stranger with the battle axe who had been watching her before. He seemed to be interested in the wolf-dog and the hooded figure as well. Or at least a little bit interested. This brought her thoughts back to him, How does he know I'm a thief? Ugh, thief is such an ugly word... Wait, was he tipped off by someone? No, I haven't been seen in any of my visits to this town... And nobody could pinpoint one young girl trying to make a living in this place. Good intuition maybe? Her mind stopped there, her fingers closing around the bronze key. She didn't care anyway. Her bare foot involuntarily began tapping and her stomach growled at her to eat the second apple. Why was it so hard for her just to sit still and relax sometimes? Needing something to keep her attention, she looked back to the three figures near the bar, her grey eyes catching the axe-wielder's quick, panicked struggle with the stool.

Vell couldn't help it. The momentary flash of bright orange signaling the what she assumed to be embarrassment lined up perfectly with his quick shrugging-off of the display, the entire thing comical enough to have the young thief holding back a full on laugh. She chuckled, hoping it wasn't loud enough for anyone to hear, her grey eyes lighting up with amusement. Alright, that was worth not turning in early.

"Heh, sorry about that I guess...." Blacki replied, sweat dropping abit when he had realized that he had made a mistake between the two. Well, when reading two minds at once aswell as your own, it was pretty hard to comprehend who was who and such. Though, the wolf was as probaly expected to; he was most defiantly interested in this, well 'Their's, offer for some sort of mission. He had to admit that he simply adored a good adventure, so this should be quite interesting.
"What about your offer, eh? I heard your friend 'left it', so it should be interesting."  He finnaly replied to the 'masked' person's question, it would be sort of benneifical to him if he accepted it anyway, as it would give him a free meal and something to do. The wolf was sort of bored most of the time, there was never enough 'action' for him since he retired as a Patrol Recruit. You might even be able to say he missed that position he once had, though he didn't at the same time.
"I will take it, do not even explain. " The canine finnaly sort of 'blurted out', the mission or whatever couldn't be that bad. Of course, he could most defiantly seeing a meer human backing down from it, but a wolf could finish it faster than man could back down from it.
Well, however perilous this mission might be, as he hadn't heard all the details quite yet, he was happy with his decsiocion. Though, Blacki might of rushed into it abit too quickly.

Quick! Somebody get the cure!!))

While They were waiting for the wolf to answer, Mask's eyes gazed lazily about. At least, outwardly that's what it seemed like, but really the silver irises were watching skillfully at the crowd, noting their behavior and actions. At one point Their attention was drawn to the table where Mask noticed the female that had been at the counter sometime ago, before Ralf's entry. A waitress was handing her a key to a room before departing, and Mask observed with interest. Before They didn't take much notice of the female but now They looked more closely; she appeared restless, and wary of those all about her. But more than that it seemed like she was completely aware of what was going on, that if something were to happen she wouldn't miss it. Mask also detected a few scars upon her person, a little hard to see from the distance and trying to make it appear They weren't watching but there nonetheless. A good fighter, perhaps?

Maybe she could be of some help, too? Mask wondered. Is she listening in on this conversation, or should I try making it more tempting to eavesdrop upon? Shortly after Their question was answered. Their other "target" had begun moving closer to the conversation, but was having a mishap. Attempting to hide a chuckle and smile of Their own, They saw quickly the expression upon the female's visage. Bingo. If I keep this up, perhaps I'll be hitting three birds with one stone.

"I will take it, do not even explain. "

Mask returned Their gaze to the canine before them, a look of surprise reflecting in Their eyes. That was.... easy. "Eager, aren't we?" They couldn't help the mischievous half-grin from showing up, giving an almost evil-looking look to Their features had Their eyes not spoke of mirth. Hey, it was help and They didn't even have to pay that much for it. "I like that. Hey, Lann, how about a nice big piece of cooked meat for my new friend here?" Turning around so They faced the counter, Mask called the order to the innkeeper, who gave a rather knowing look as he rolled his eyes but smiled, making a kind of "salute" gesture to show he got it.

"I'm Mask, by the way," Mask turned to Blacki, keeping the smile. "Welcome aboard to the mission! Though I feel like I should explain things to you so you know what you're suppose to do, eh?" A frown suddenly replaced the grin, as if They just realized something. "Unfortunately, I think we're short on numbers... When Ralf quit, he was doing the easy part. What we're about to do is much more dangerous. But we need to recruit quick, cause the mission needs to be executed by tomorrow. Oh what to do, what to do..."

((@Blacki: You can have the meat being delivered in your post, by the way, I wasn't sure if your character would rather have it raw cause he's a wolf so it'd give him the chance to correct the order if he wanted to x3))

(Me post)

"Just a loaf of bread would do fine." Blacki said arupdetly before 'Lann', as he had heard from before could make it back with the cooked meat. When he asked for something carnivores usuallt didn't eat, which was most of the time, people were usuallt quite shocked. It wasn't exactly considered 'normal' amomg, well, any wolf to perfer human-food like bread or even soup over their usual diet of meat.  Though, Blacki treated his little 'difference' like it was something normal that quite a few canines tended to do, rather than a 'one-person-in-perticuliar' thing, which it most likely was.
Turning his interest away from his little 'difference' which set him apart from most, Blacki smiled in a casual way to this perticuliar person. Masked was his, or well, her name. He still hadn't indentified weither this human was a girl or a boy, and by the looks of it he probaly never would.
Quite suprisingly, even to him a little, when he heard that Ralf was only doing the easy part when he quitted. Whatever, this made it all more interesting, much more interesting. It was rare to find a mission that happened to be so hard that a human decided to drop out on simply the easy part of it all. Brilliant, this should keep him occupied.
"So, since I sort of 'need to be explained to', go ahead." Blacki urged, flicking his white-tipped tail across his paws in a somewhat casual and even polite manner. Though, it was quite obvious that he was actually slightly supicious of this person, now that he was staring at him or her in quite the perticuliar manner. Or might it be simply curiousity?
Blacki wanted to know what the mission was, of course that, but to more 'minour' things, he also wanted to know why this person seemed to have no gender, and of course, a billion other questions, the list would be too long to make actually.

 Name: Carina Tavian.
Age: Seventeen years old.
Gender: Female
Race/Breed: Human.
Ability/Power/Skills: Carina has the ability to enter the minds of others and view old memories and occurrences that have happened in their lives. She also has the power to take away memories if the other so chooses, but it drains her energy tremendously and so far in her life she has not done it once. She often uses her memory-viewing ability to get to know people better before actually speaking to them, like to decipher whether they are good or evil, what kind of person they are. Often people have no idea that she is delving through their memories, but some people with more acute senses will feel something "brush" their mind, and unless they have experienced memory-searching before they won't think much of it. If someone is aware that Carina is going through their memories and there is something they don't want her to see, they can put up a block in their mind, sort of like a door that Carina can't go through unless she tries hard, which she often won't. Little do people know that a door once opened can be stepped through in either direction, and some stronger people may be able to enter her mind as well, though it's very rare for that to happen - it's probably the biggest pitfall to her ability.

Appearance: Carina is a pale-skinned girl with hair the colour of autumn leaves; a light auburn colour that shines in the right light. Her hair is straight and long, nearly waist-length, and often done up in a rough plait. She has a side fringe that she cut herself, which hides her dark green eyes. She stands at just 5'0" and is of slender build, but has evident lean muscle that others should not underestimate. Contradictory to what most young ladies and women wear, Carina is often seen dressed in dress-like garments made from bear skin and fur. These garments are few in numbers, and all relatively the same; cutting off about lower-thigh area, sleeveless and low-cut. She also wears a pair of supple leather shoes (looking similar to the canvas shoes you can get today, minus the laces), soft and worn from years of work and wear.

Personality: Carina has a very forward personality that may intimidate or annoy some people. She's very honest and opinionated, and likes to voice what is on her mind, which will often get her chastised. She is very independent and likes to do things herself, when others baby her and insist on helping her out she gets irritated. Carina has a short temper, and if someone rubs her the wrong way she will often use her words to retaliate. Carina is sharp-minded, witty and extremely sarcastic, and often does not think before speaking. She is not one to warm up to someone quickly, she takes her time to get to know people and chooses her friends very carefully. But Carina can also be extremely compassionate and understanding, and she's always willing to listen to problems that others have and try to help them out. She can often make others laugh, and she can be very loving too. She's not hesitant to offer a smile and greet someone, but she does remain guarded until she feels comfortable around others. Carina can also be very good at comforting people and offering words of support. Needless to say, she has a very complex personality, but she isn't hard to figure out if you get to know her She can also be rather boyish, and has an adventurous, curious side. Patience is a virtue she has not mastered. (W.I.P - Her personality may alter as the RP progresses!)

History: Carina was raised outside of the kingdom in a very poor area, a slum. Her mother died soon after giving birth to her, weak and sick. Carina was raised by her father, who was only trying to feed and care for his daughter as best he could. Unfortunately, at the age of 12 news that her father had been shot made its way back to her; he had tried to steal food from the kitchen of a mansion belonging to a rich family. His punishement had been unlawful death, but being merely a man slowly dying as he lived in the slums, no one seemed to care. From there on Carina was on her own, and realising that she wouldn't live much longer if she continued to dwell in the slums, she took whatever little belongings she owned and made her own way, having no idea where she was heading or what was happening to her - all she knew was that it was her best shot at life. She travelled until she was 15 years old, hiding out and sleeping when she could in private property stables and abandoned cottages, consuming little food and fluid, only really living on the willpower to keep going. When she found herself close to the kingdom of Lynthia, a pair of Soldiers, brutes who weren't unkind but not lenient either, finding her of no risk to the kingdom or its ruler, leaving her in an area called "Larth," claiming her to be a runaway like the rest living there. The adolescent girl wasn't accepted there, and although they had their own rules to prevent bloodshed, she wasn't treated nicely. After living there for a time just shy of a year, Carina was on her way again, exploring the kingdom on her own, looking for a place to permanently reside and rest her wary body. And so she found herself in Zale, which is where she has been living ever since.

Vocation: Cleric, or a Cleric in training.
Strengths: Carina has a wide knowledge of herblore, she's quick and agile, she's good with animals (canines and equines in particular), she is able to use a bow and arrow rather well.
Weaknesses: Carina is not literate; she cannot read or write, she has a fear of public speaking, she can't handle babies or small children, Carina also tends to put others before herself in times of need, and although this is benificial for others it tends to take it's toll out on her.
Extra: Nothing on the character, but "I like cookies." And I'm sorry this took so long to put up, it takes me ages to think of good "histories," and with other prior committments too it took even longer than it should.

((Hey Caitlin! ^.^
I love the character! Just there is something that has me concerned, and it's that she has a lot of similarities with Calamity's character, Velleity D:

-One thing is her power, Velleity is able to see emotions with colors and it was mentioned she could probably alter other's emotions by changing the color. However, since Carina's ability is solely focused on this, that doesn't have me fully concerned, though another reason why I'm a little iffy about this is because there's already a couple of people with powers based around others emotions.
-Next is appearance. Just like Carina, Velleity is also barefoot most of the time.
-For Weakness, one of the things put down was that she couldn't read or write. Velleity also had this as a weakness (though the word "hardly" was used).

By themselves these aren't really much of an issue, it was just the combination of the similarities that had me concerned, you know? xD
I'm so sorry to have to make you edit a few things in your form, especially after the time you took to make it out of your busy schedule! Everything else is A-okay, except one more thing.

Did you use the code provided at the introduction page to fill out your form? It contains the correct coloring, size, and font :3

Ah. I can assure you that these similarities were not intentional, I actually haven't read any of the other character applications, so the inspiration for it was all mine. I'm not hugely enthused about the possibility of having to change things around, mainly because it took me a long while to form a detailed character like this, and I am in no way good at it, nor do I do it very often, and I kind of really love the character I've created xP I can if I really need to, of course, but that would probably entail creating a whole new character.

And yeah, I did use the code, I really have no idea why it came out like that. I'll try and go back and look it over to see if I did anything wrong, but as I kind of have no idea what I'm doing here I don't really know what I'm looking for >.<

Sorry for the inconveniences on both accounts.

((I didn't really think you were copying, which is why I'm not too concerned with it XD
Everything you've listed are pretty common things really [other than the power as it's very creative] in medieval times, in fact most people weren't very educated unless they were rich, and being barefoot isn't all that uncommon. It was just the convenience of having two characters having all of these at once.

As long as it wasn't intentional, then there isn't a problem, and I've Rped with you before :3
These changes aren't really required, and as long as no one else seems upset by it I can accept your character. Since you're still new and getting used to things, I won't have you provide a code, I can put that in myself XD
And again these similarities aren't even that big, if it was something like similar history or appearance to the dot then there really would be a problem haha.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the form, I'm very looking forward to meeting your character as she sounds very interesting, and having a Cleric would sure be useful lol))

((No worries at all! The similarites were definitely not intentional, I know how hard it is to create a character and the work that goes into it, I wouldn't even dream of stealing someone elses creativity xP And as I said, I hadn't read the character applications when I created mine, so it would have been kind of impossible to intentionally copy somone else xD

Of course if someone else isn't happy I'll change what I can, but if all is satisfactory then I'll leave Carina as she is. :3

You're welcome! It'll take me a couple of days to get my A into G, but once I do I should be all good to go.))

(I hate to be the bad guy here, but I really am skeptical about you saying it is unintentional. I'd like to ask you to change those things (even if it was unintentional) considering just how similar she is to Vell. (And because I'm a snarling pitbull at protecting my characters.) And I'm sorry, but you should have read the other forms in case you did accidentally did make a character that was a young, quick and agile, bare-footed girl with a hood over her face, the power to change emotions, no parents, and the inability to read. Speaking of, I don't mind that she is illiterate since Katsa makes a good point and Vell and Carina could be bffs cause of that or something.

But if ya just give her shoes, maybe take off the cloak since everyone seems to wear one, and change that power (Although it was very creative; I dare-say more fleshed out than mine too ^^) and she'll be amended enough in those little things and I wont feel like you might have read my form first.

I love her personality and history, btw. Very unique! ^^;

Oh, and has Kutanra been on? I was waiting for their reply, but I might just go on ahead.)

((Granted, I should have read the other applications. I'm now kicking myself that I didn't, although when Katsa alerted me of this RP over DeviantArt, I already had the idea of emotion manipulating in mind, though I had to build on it. Please understand that I didn't copy your character at all, it /was/ unintentional. I'm not a thief.

Just to confirm, you want be to change her entire ability, right? Because if so I might just go with a great knowledge of herblore or something like that, as it took me ages to come up with that ability and I'm not fond of going through the same process twice over.

And I can understand you being the "snarling pitbull," too. I'm more protective over my actual writing as opposed to characters, but I can understand where you're coming from. I apologise for all the hassle over this.

Thanks for letting me know, though.

And thanks very much, the history took about as much work as the ability. Shame I'm gonna have to change it! And I have no objection to our characters being friends, sounds like a good idea. Can't wait to RP it.))

((I'm glad you two were able to resolve this between yourselves :3
I can offer some suggestions about a power/ability if you like Caitlin, unless you wanted your ideas for your character to only come from you xD
But just in case, since you're character is into herblore and healing, what if she's able to draw energy from life around her? Not human/creature life, but like from the plants themselves, not enough to where it would kill them but like if she needed energy she could "burrow" it, and maybe even transfer it to others to help the healing process speed up to more serious wounds?

I was wondering about that, too, I can try noting Kuta though I think we should give it one more day then move on I:))

(That idea sounds cool Katsa. I don't have any amazing suggestions, but maybe you could have her ability be simple magical healing but add a twist where when she heals someone, it drains her own health? Similar to Micaiah from Fire Emblem maybe. Or if you want to use something pertaining somewhat to emotions, why not allow her to see/manipulate other peoples recent/old memories? I don't know, just thought I'd help out a bit ^^;

And yeah Kuta, go on ahead ^^)

Unable to take it any more, seeing opportunity slip from his fingers, Calid had to act. He rose from hi chair, checked his axe then strolled over, standing just behind the wolf to his right a little. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice you're looking for some help. I know this wolf is very eager but if it's as dangerous as you say maybe it would be better to bring an escort, of course..." He glanced at the wolf and the...person with a nonchalant gaze before saying "I would require some...form of payment but I'm sure that can be arranged."

His offer over, he moved to stand with his feet apart, muscled arms folded over his chest to subtly display his confidence, it had earned him a few more quests than he would have otherwise got in the past. In his mind he chuckled "That and I have opposable thumbs and won't run away from the quest the first moment I see a chicken farm."

(Blacki can hear those thoughts if you want)
Title: Re: Land of Lynthia (Open and Accepting!)

Vell's quiet laughter subsided shortly after, replaced by an extreme curiosity. She felt herself leaning forward a bit, her eyes drawn to the two strange characters as they conversed, her previous efforts to be subtle while listening tossed aside. At this point she just couldn't help but watch them. "I will take it, do not even explain." Vell picked up the wolf reply to the hooded figure, Quite obviously they offered a job. But what can a wolf do to help? Maybe it's just cheaper to hire than a person. But they paid that other guy a ton of money... Wait, why would they hire a wolf anyway? She was stumped as to that. Maybe it wasn't anything difficult. But then why did the other man quit?

"I couldn't help but notice you're looking for some help." She was pulled from her thoughts as the guy with the axe stepped up into the conversation, quite confidently, she might add. I couldn't help but notice that too. She added mentally, although didn't catch her assumption through direct words. She hadn't heard the hooded figure's proposition to the wolf, but her guess on work was correct, so the specifics didn't matter. Is this something I could help with? Because if they need another person... maybe I could volunteer too. I could be useful. She fidgeted in her seat with the thought, the key beginning to loosen up in her grip again. Should I go over there and say something? She gave the idea a good three seconds before inwardly scolding herself. What am I talking about?? I don't take jobs. I don't even know what they are needing done.

Vell decided to just wait and see if she could pick up anymore information about this task that needed completing, or the soon-to-be hired help. And who exactly was this mysterious person giving out such a vague quest? Vell couldn't really tell anything about them, even from such a short distance separating them. Heck, she didn't even know what gender they were!

((@Caitlin: I do have a few ideas on how your character can show up since this is already taking place, and you can work off those ideas, give suggestions, etc if you like :3
One of the things I was thinking was perhaps they meet her during the mission. I'll have to think more about this, but a basic plan I have for it is perhaps is your character is in trouble and they've come to help. I'll give you more specifics possibly ingame about this to help decide/if we decide to go with this.
Another would be if Mask had already "hired" your character and they meet her the next morning in the inn or at the town's gate, whichever. All I have for now, I can probably figure out more ways later and you can suggest ideas, too ^.^))

Bread? The thought couldn't help but pass through Their mind. Yeesh, this wolf is sure a strange one. Whoever heard of such a carnivorous animal being able to live off something small and less filling than meat? I hope that doesn't mean everything else about him is different, like his senses and fighting skills... He said he was a Patrol Recruit, and they're usually excellent fighters. Now I hope I am not getting the bad end of the deal.

Before Mask could speak aloud, however, footsteps were heard behind Them, and soon after came a voice. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice you're looking for some help..." A sly grin spread itself across Their visage, glad that Their back was turned to avoid being detected. All according to plan. That is, until the man mentioned the last part. Curses, the grin disappeared. You don't suppose he noticed the large amount of money from earlier, do you? Wait, who am I asking? Myself? Hm, well I think it's a possibility...

"Hm, I don't know..." Mask said aloud now, shrugging Their shoulders. Turning in the stool, silver eyes rested on the new figure before them, looking him over as if weighing the thought if he was really there or not. Purposely Mask looked unimpressed, but inwardly They thought the addition would be a lot of help indeed. Hopefully he isn't expecting a large payment, but even so I might not even be able to pay him decently. But this mission is important and I need to pull it off. I'll have to risk it.

"I suppose you'll do," another shrug of the shoulders, but a smirk settled back. "Though the mission is no walk in the woods. But that could be dangerous, too, if you're out by yourself and spending the night. Anyway, to explain to you my dear wolf and to shed some light for you both, the mission involves in the capture of these strange group of men. There could possibly be more than one of them, but we need at least one of them alive and caught. Ralf's mission, the easy part, was keeping up with their activities, pinpointing where they'll strike next, etc. Basically spying. But we're going to confront them."

Leaning back in Their seat, Mask grew a bit more serious, studying the man almost suspiciously. "How much exactly are you hoping to get paid? I hope your skills will be worth the price."

((The amount Mask had paid Ralf would of been about... 5,500 Sherlings, which is more than average but not quite rich x3))

((@Vantani: Awesome character! There's just one thing I'm a little iffy about, and that's his ability of finding vulnerable points in others. However, I already know how you don't godmode or anything, so I'm not overly concerned and have Rped with you many times before, and how you yourself are careful on that. As long as he isn't able to hit those spots all the time and such, and perhaps can be manipulated/confused sometimes by more "important characters" [including other members characters should for some reason they fight] to prevent him from seeing the spots upon themselves, I'm willing to let him keep that ability :3
Do you also have a plan on him for meeting the others? He could perhaps remain in Castle Town if you like and at the castle since that was what he set out to do, or he can come across them on his way there while they're doing the mission. Either way will work, because I'm planning on having them head to the castle anyways after the mission x3

(I have forgotten to add that his gift does NOT effect his aim at all, it just shows where the weakpoints are and these weakpoints can be concealed if done the right way; especially on fellow mages like if there's a ward up or something. They also are not always as fatal/vital. Believe me I've thought about this XD

Edit: Also I forgot to add, if he's in a battle it's not as quick so the gift is harder to activate. It's mostly if he's trying to take someone out or whatever or if he's out of magic and the battle calls for a quick end and is slow enough. And I like your idea about his appearance. I'll think about it.)

"I am abit more 'human' than canine, well, I enjoy their food much better than flesh, fur, and bones." Blacki said quickly almost immediantly after the person's thought had entered their mind, even though he told himself a thousand times over that doing this was rude. His words were sort of meant to be a joke, though it didn't seem to quite come out that way, and joke or not it was actually quite true. Blacki despised raw meat, flesh, fur, and bones. It didn't have the trace of a sort of 'sweetness' in it. Besides, getting 'normal' food made him feel like some sort of murder. The canine was barely paying any attention to the people around him, which included the boy with interest in the job aswell, and the girl that was leaning forward to hear their conversation. She was obviously the biggest fail ever when it came to eavesdropping. It was amazing how him, and wolf simply accepting a job without much questions about 'how hard this was' or anything of the sort could draw so much attention. He tried to tell himself that the fact that he was a quite a young talking wolf that wasn't a patrol recruit at the time was the thing that was drawing all attention.
Deep down though, it was obvious that he knew that wasn't true, and that the canine knew that the thought certainly didn't matter much at all anyway.
"You seem to know how to draw yourself some attention." Blacki smiled, reffering to the 'Masked' person as he finnaly decided to take notice to the young man interested in the job. The human interested in the job seemed quite well, aggnorant and rude, as he was insulting him even before he had any idea of his abilities. "Oh yes, and shut your mouth please." The wolf couldn't help but add this quite, well pertciuliary rude comment when he heard the mention of 'Opposable Thumbs' and 'Running away whenever I see a chicken.'.
It was obvious that this human was reffering to him, and nothing got him more peeved than when people insulted him on first sight.

If only I had a horse... travel wears down my soles. As well as my soul, now that I think of it.

Zyemar looked down at the trail he trod across, the gentle crunching of boot on mineral being one of the only sounds keeping him moving. After an unsuccessful hunt, and an unfortunate theft leaving him beyond distraught. The elf put a hand behind his back, feeling the soft fabric of his robes but also a cutting emptiness of one of his dearest possessions; his bow.

The thief snuck up on him, he would claim. Zyemar let him off easy. But the damned thing was so hard to catch and so... slippery it evaded his capture. Now the elf was stuck without his backup weapon; almost a veil of security. Although being adept at magic he still craved the weapon, especially being Gifted. The elf would never be able to use his gift again if he could not find his beloved bow.

He looked up past the hood of his robe and noticed the boundary of Castle Town. Good. Zyemar could use a strong drink and a look around. Perhaps someone had caught sight of the thief? He'd imagine it would be too hard to spot... the only problem was that citizens would give him odd looks as he would give the thief's description. Perhaps if he slightly altered his words?
Decisions, decisions...

A sudden cry snapped the elven mage out of his thoughts, a flutter of dark feathers catching his attention just before entering the city. Most birds general didn't catch his attention, as they were common, but this one had a key detail that Zyemar would spot continents away. The graceful, wooden object clutched in his talons was his bow!

"There you are, you snake swallowing vermin," he snarled. The falcon he glared up at was, oddly, heading above the city. As Zyemar came through, avoiding the masses of people walking by he kept his eyes trained up at the airborne thief. It was heading straight across the road, leading to the inn and some neighboring shops; this he could tell. That would mean he would have to act fast, avoiding people and trying to not draw too much attention. His magic was probably not allowed to be used within city walls either. The elf would have to somehow get the bird to land...but how?

Perhaps the inn would be the answer. Even if the hordes of passerby may scare it off, the lure of fresh meat being cooked within could perhaps attract it? Although many places had the sweet aroma of food in Castle Town, the falcon was heading toward the inn already. Zyemar decided to make his move. "Excuse me, pardon, apologies," the elf murmured to some protesting citizens as he shoved through, trying not to lose sight of his mark. Soon the inn came into view, and now he had to somehow make the falcon land...

The bird suddenly banked to the left and landed on the building right in front of the inn. Zyemar frowned only a little; it didn't go quite according to plan but at least something was happening... He brushed the minor inconvenience aside, deciding it was sacrificial for his bow.

The elf stopped carefully by the road, hiding beside a shop. He looked as his target; there were a few barrels, boxes, beams, and other supplies piled up to the roof, which wasn't very high to begin with. Zyemar, for this, was grateful. However some parts of the 'stairs' were a bit loose.

"If I fall," the elf murmured, "the ledges near the roof look like I could grab them...if not, there are some soft bits of straw down below that might break my fall." His plan, and his second plan now progressing, he slowly crept up to the side of his target building. Scaling the barrels, beams, and boxes, Zyemar prayed that the falcon wouldn't move. It sat perched on the edge of the roof, his bow under both of its feet completely as its head swiveled around. The elf received some odd looks as he proceeded, but he did not notice in the slightest. In the world it was him, the devil bird, and his beloved bow.

Finally reaching the top, Zyemar clung to the roof and held out his hand.
"Here bird," he murmured, somewhat soft in his voice. The falcon did not budge. "Come on you wicked mass of filthy feathers..."

His enemy cried out gently and hopped a few paces back. He snarled in frustration, forced to go across the roof with his whole body now. Creeping along gently, he continued to try and convince the falcon to come over to him. It did not move as he got closer, and eventually in triumph grabbed the bow.

However, in a sudden whirl of motion the already unbalanced elf was temporarily thrown off of his center of gravity more as the falcon took off. It could not go very high with his weight but it took him across the road. In a long cry of surprise Zyemar realized he was losing altitude clinging onto the bow held by the bird and heading toward the front of the inn! The furiously flapping avian finally let go of the bow, releasing the distressed elf heavily against the wooden structure of the in, tumbling off to the side and into some bags of feed, the wind knocked out of him.

Coughing and trying to right himself, Zyemar shook his head. Sudden victory gripped him as he realized that his bow was once again in his possession! Fixing it across his back once more and stepping over the chickens that gathered at his feet the elf dusted off his robes and tried to avoid the stares and words coming from concerned citizens, muttering that he was fine and sometimes not even answering at all.

Finally coming through the doors of the inn the elven mage sighed.
"Now I REALLY need a drink," he grumbled under his breath.

(It's okay if the tussle outside is noticed or not, it's not very important to him. It's just what I had inspiration for at the time and I was in a writing mood and if it interrupts the current conversation among Mask and the others, I apologize. XD

Also a crazy stunt like this is rare for Zyemar, he usually has more caution but this was a rare desperate and hilarious case. =P)

((My reaction: XD *Falls outta chair and starts laughing*

The whole time up until that part, these were literally my thoughts: Oooo, who was the thief?! Was it some goblin monster? Maybe a small creature with two heads... or perhaps it was some sort of walking tree.

*Finds out it's a falcon* ROTFL
And the rest, icing on the cake! XD))

((Oh, and as a little side note/question, what is your signature from? I swear I know that it's a movie and I've seen it before but I can't remember!))

"Of course, I've been at this a while now. And despite my attitude you see now I am well trained and not afraid to take people on. And..." he smirked "...be confident about it. I'm sure my skills, combined with your friend here, will guarantee you success." He knew he shouldn't make promises one can't be sure to keep, after all things don't always go according to plan but this sounded pretty easy.

There was a thump and the squawking of surprised chickens and Calid turned to see if anything was visible outside the window when he heard the wolf's little speech end with "Oh yes, and shut your mouth please." He looked back to see what this masked figure had done to displease the wolf and discovered that last was aimed at him.

"Huh? But I didn't say anything b-" Calid realised what the wolf had done and in a moment inner panic hit him, oh gods could all wolves do this or was he a Gifted? Suddenly every bad thought he wasn't meant to think flowed into Calid's head and the more he tried to empty his mind the worse it got; finally he casually lifted his hand to the back of his head as if to scratch it, gripping the hairs at the nape of his neck painfully tight, the pain focusing his senses and clearing the thoughts.

(This is my first time getting to know Calid, he's more...jerkfaced than I thought he'd be XD)

( 'Ello. Hope you don't mind me joining :3. (WIP Post) If there are some mistakes in spelling, i will correct them once i have done with the application. Application finnished)

Name: Tumpsking Roswell (He preffers to be called, for short Tump or Tum)
Age: Around the age of 20 years, but he looks much older than he really is.
Gender: Male
Race/Breed: Pure Dwarf
Ability/Power/Skills: He has no powers, but a Skill he has is being gifted at making good weaponry, such as bow and arrows out of bits and bobs he can find on the ground. A ability could be his will power. He would never look down to fights involving, ofcorse, the king.

Appearance: Tump is much shorter than other dwarfs, maybe the height of a average she-wolf on all fours. He is buff and broard, with hardly any neck or legs, just some large feet and thighs. He has droopy undereyes, large hazel eyes, over-large ears and a stumpy nose, which has a scar running down the left side. He has some bushy eye brows that stoop low onto his eyes. Tum's hair is a dark brown, specks of gray here and there, and could not be combed, because it is so tangled. A shaggy short beard, also containing gray hairs, and if looking carefuly, you would see broken pieces off combs stuck in there. Most of his body is bumpy with scars. As for his clothing, he wears a deer skin waist coat, lined with fur of a racoon. The waistcoat is a brown with freckled white spots, and contains many pockets, and the front has a few buttons sewn on. He wears over the waist coat a dark brown cape, also lined with racoon fur, which he ties around his neck. He wears on his head a mole skin night cap that is very creased, which he only takes of inside buildings. A large, heavy bronze belt sits neatly on his waist, mainly to hold up some baggy elk skin trousers. For shoes, some wild boar fur slip ins, which on the top bares a black button on each. He has some metal armour on his arms, going from his elbows, down to his fingers, on each arm. On the middle finger of his left armour bears a single encrusted Ruby, which he had found when he once went down into a mine.

Personality: Tumpsking, pronounced Tumpskin is a secretive dwarf that likes prying into others personal affairs. He would rather spy than get on with his own life. Apart from being nosey, he loves to drink. Anything from Ale to pure Rum would suit this dwarfs lifestyle. With all the drinking, he can get very tipsy and sink back to his small hut, in which he lives in, to sober up untill he is fully aware of himself, before going back down to a pub for another round. Tum's sentences are short and gruff. He would talk quickly, quietly and never stop to pause for air. Apart from his life as a 'alcoholic', he takes strolls into places which he would never normally wander to. For him, a  good walk clears the mind and steangthens the muscles. The only time Tump is happy is when surrounded by people, eaves dropping, but he does wish for some friends once in a while. It gets a little lonely living in a hut by himself.

History: His childhood is uknown by himself and others, since he was in a horrific accident containing a hammer to the head, which happend around the age of sixteen which made him loose all memory, and Tum had to be taught the main things about himself. A few years past after the accident, and Tumpsking learned the most important thing in his life: Drinking. His life consisted of that for a long time up untill this day, and the poor Dwarf now has no shoulder to cry on, so he streangthend himself to hide his feelings from the world, untill he has a fully formed friendship, which he thinks is highly unlikely.

Vocation: Bounty Hunter
Strengths: A strong will power, a good crafts man.
Weaknesses: He is very shy, which leads to making him lonely. Also, he has anger problems.
Extra: He likes eating. If you give him a platter of snails he would eat it. He is never fussy. I like cookies. Also, i am hoping to get hi involved some how. Maybe a meeting at the pub.

Vell, after more than a minute of indecisiveness, took in a deep breath and forced herself to stand up. It was a hesitant movement, slow and unsure, but one she felt compelled to do. With equally as reluctant steps she made her way over to the group of strange characters that she had been watching. Her eyes darted from one corner of the room to the next before gathering the courage to look straight at the group. Come on Vell, you want to do something different for a change. Just ask them.   Vell made a small cough to signal her approach before speaking in a quiet voice.

"Uhm... I- couldn't help but notice..." She began, forcing herself to look at the hooded figure. She still couldn't tell anything about them, even from right up next to them. Vell brought her hand up to her opposite arm, rubbing it as if she was cold. It was simply out of nervousness though. She hated speaking to others. It wasn't necessarily that she was shy either, she didn't mind being around others; but when she opened her mouth, she tended to say things she instantly regretted. "That you..."

She noticed that she had begun gripping the room key that she still held in her other hand. God, why was this so difficult for her? Oh, come on! The talking wolf can speak better than I can. She took in a deep breath and opened her mouth, but was cut off by a loud thump, followed by the sounds of chickens, and a small crowd outside. A moment later, a disheveled elf walked into the inn. She watched him curiously, relaxing a bit with the momentary distraction. I wonder what that was about... Gah! I'm standing here like an idiot- just finish the sentence.

Vell coughed to clear her throat, her voice growing slightly steadier, "That you are looking for some... assistance. I-I could be useful, if you need a-anymore help." She waited for the reply from the hooded figure, her eyes darting over to the guy with the axe. She noticed how tense he looked, but couldn't put her finger on what she could compare the look to. What's got him on edge? Next she turned to what she had decided was a wolf, and not a dog. A faint red churned around him, signaling aggravation, or something of the like. This red informed her of two things. One, that the wolf was easily irritable, as she hadn't heard anything that would have been insulting to him. And two, that she could also read the emotion of animals.

She had never gotten a color of emotion from an animal before. It was always just a faint grey of neutrality, or another boring shade of nothing. Never before had she seen something so distinguishable as the red on the frame of the canine. It fascinated her, but she forced herself to look back to the hooded figure. She didn't want to stare like that. That would be rude and weird; not a very good first impression.

~*~

(I tweaked Vell's form a bit. Edited in the code too if you want to place it over the one on the character list ^^;)

"Hm, I suppose there is some truth in those words," Mask returned to the gentleman with the axe. Soon the unimpressed look They had held shifted back to Their mischievous grin. "Very well then, welcome aboard!"

Just then, however, Blacki spoke aloud, and in one way it seemed like he was having a conversation with himself. Mask looked at him oddly, then as the words began to register They realized they were in comment to Their own thoughts. Later he spoke to the man about "shutting up", another comment that came out of no where but flicking Their eyes to study the Adventurer his reaction told Them everything. "Ah, a mind reader!" Mask said aloud, almost in triumph. A finger was pointed toward the canine with a pleased look on the owner, "What a useful ability, that could give us an advantage!"

However, at the same time "barriers" were being drawn up in Their own mind. It wasn't the first time Mask came across a mind-related Gifted, and the last thing They wanted was for someone to sneak into Their thoughts. About to say something more on the subject, Mask was momentarily distracted by a new figure approaching.

And everything continues to fall into place, Mask held back a sly grin from showing up, instead replacing it with a curious look. They also held back a comment to Blacki about "drawing attention", for that was exactly what Mask was hoping for. Though perhaps it was beginning to work too well, if the ax-guy had expected to be paid as much as Ralf and was disappointed with the end results, very disappointed, Mask thought They could at least make a run for it. With more than one person, however, could make that a bit difficult.

Tossing the thought aside, Mask looked to this new comer closely. Now that she was standing before them They were able to get a better idea of what she was like. The way she was dressed seemed a bit out of the ordinary, even a little shady. Her demeanor at the moment didn't seem very encouraging, though... Perhaps she's some sort of spy, maybe an assassin or thief? Mask wondered. That could be really useful, though I'll have to keep a close eye on my belongings and throat... She doesn't really seem like a killer, though. Kinda too nervous to be one, anyway, unless it's some sort of act.

Mask's thoughts (carefully hidden and kept from the canine) were suddenly interrupted when a thump and chicken cries filled the air. Everyone in the inn only seemed to give it a glance and a moment of confusion, before returning to their conversations and filling the air with silent murmerings. Mask did the same as well, though looked a bit annoyed before focusing Their attention back on the female.

"We could always go for some more help," Mask answered, raising a brow while smiling cheekily. "The real question is, however, is if you're worth hiring. What kind of service can you offer?"

"Here's your order, sir," another waitress stopped by the unusual growing group, bending her knees to place a plate of a very warm, tasty looking loaf in front of the canine. She smiled sweetly at him before rising back up to proceed with her duties, not before accepting the money from Mask, however. There goes the last of my Shellings... They thought in disappointment. There was still some Sherlings, but Mask hoped this was going to be worth it and They weren't just about to sign everyone's deaths...

@Shadow: So far only normal humans have the most people.
@Katsa: Thanks!~))

Vell smiled slightly when she was acknowledged, but that quickly faded when she was asked about her abilities. This question brought along with it more internal conflict on how to respond. Oh crap, what do I say? I can't say what I do, or what I'm good at or it'll be like raising a giant sign saying 'Don't trust me!' And this job could help me. I might not have to make another trip for a while if I'm paid half of what that other guy was. She shifted a little in her spot, preparing what story she was going to tell to the stranger. I could always just make it vague... No, I got this "I am usually a... messenger. I-I carry important messages or small packages from one city to the next. So... I'm fast, and... I've learned to defend myself. Oh, and if the situation demands it I'm good at being quiet." She said, loosening up and speaking more clearly with the believability of it all towards the end of the story. She gave a small smile when she was done talking, but still gripped the key tightly in her hand and practically radiated of nervousness.

She looked back to the wolf and the other guy, glad that they didn't seem to be watching her talk to their employer. Or at least not yet. Speaking of that, this group was growing pretty quickly. She hoped that the hooded stranger had enough to pay them all. But, why wouldn't they be able to? They seemed to be certain in their available funds, so she decided to push that concern to the side.

"If the real question is if I'm worth hiring, I'll simplify it and say yes, I am worth it." She added with a certainty to her words. This sudden self-confidence came about with the knowledge that the hooded figure was the only one seeming to listen to her. The less people around, the more comfortable she felt speaking.

"Did you really have to announce that to the world? Now everybody i'll be blocking their minds away from me!" Blacki Growled in a sort of 'unpleasant' way. He hated it whenever someone blew his 'cover' or something of the sort. Almost always, people would imagine the usual 'barrier' to keep him out, and he was never the one to attempt to break that barrier. Infact, he really didn't know how, and it sounded too hard any how.
"I should of been a tinge more careful though.. I praticly screamed 'I'm a Mind Reader!' to the world when I replied to you when you said nothing." The wolf had to admit this though, for it was true. Well, at times anyone could get carried away by their powers, and this is something that happened with him. Blacki still felt abit upset that he couldn't use them on this perticuliar person though. But the simple thought that- It couldn't be terribly bad though, is this 'Masked' person didn't know how to put up barriers!". couldn't help but enter his mind.

(I'm sorry it's short! x.x I've been quite braindead when it comes to this roleplay and I have no idea what to post! D=)

((@Vantani: Oh, alrighty then~ :c
I'll remove your character for now, but feel free to use the same character if you like and if you return!

@Rainbow: Right now it'd be best if your character met them during the mission ^.^'
Which I'm going to happen now, really, cause this scene is dragging on a bit and everyone seems to be losing muse haha. So for your character, I think it'd be best for him to show up when he hears the "commotion" that will be going on as they're doing the mission, and could perhaps offer some assistance.

@Everyone: As mentioned above, I'm going to draw this to a close now hopefully with this post xD
After that, everyone is free to put in their own post of their character's thoughts and heading wherever for the night. Then I'm going to do a little time skip of them heading to their destination and waiting on the group Mask mentioned about. That way the real action can begin. Sound good to everyone?))

Mask did listen to the young female before Them, but as she continued on and on the less They seemed eager to hire her. In fact Their expression began to hold boredom and Mask wondered if They had made a mistake about considering this girl to be talented in some way that would be a benefit to the group, giving a very slight frown at her answer. The silver irises that looked to the unknown thief spoke clearly that They hardly believed every word she was saying to Them. Either she's too nervous to speak straight, Mask thought, or she's hiding something about her talents.

However, near the end, it seemed that this female, whatever her name was, gathered some confidence. This perked Mask's interest more, and her final response, the: "If the real question is if I'm worth hiring, I'll simplify it and say yes, I am worth it", sent the signature grin right back across Their visage. "Now that is the kind of answer I'm looking for," They replied with satisfaction. "Very well, you're hired as well. That should do for a group, and if all of you really are good perhaps we'll stand a chance against these men we're after after all."

Jumping off Their stool, Mask turned to face the counter where Their half-empty tankard still stood. "We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning, so get plenty of rest. We have quite a ways to travel to reach our location, and I can't affo-or-or... err, I can't afford to get horses for all of us because I'll need to be able to pay all of you, and I'll still need some cash afterwards for myself." Mask stumbled over the sentence a bit, but quickly regained Their composure to correct themselves. Just hopefully it didn't cause suspicions. "We'll all meet at the town entrance, don't be late. We'll need to hurry, and the only equipment you'll need are your weapons. You can bring a snack or something, but I'm not planning on stopping to eat until the mission is over with."

Reaching into a pouch, Mask drew out a few coins to pay for the bread and the drinks. Probably the last time I'll be able to do this for a long while, They thought gloomily, placing these on the counter. "I'll be heading off myself to get things ready," Mask went on, turning to face the group and beginning to walk away. "I'll be here at this inn should anyone need me, and the name's Mask to those who didn't know that yet. I'd like to know your names as well before I go. I already know Blacki's name."

Speaking of which, the dark-furred wolf was telling his opinion about claiming he was a mind reader out loud. Mask merely smirked widely at him, kneeling down a bit to be eye level with him. "Well my good wolf, sorry about that but you shouldn't be concerned about that so much. After all, weren't you once a Patrol Recruit?" Reaching out a hand, Mask ruffled the fur between Blacki's ears teasingly with it, giving a light chuckle. "You should know better than to pry into others minds like that. That's a complete violation to someone's privacy, eh?"

To avoid perhaps a snap of the jaws or with words, Mask stood up again with another mischievous chuckle and began walking away.

"Calid, sadly not yet recognized enough to be Calid the Great, or the Bold or or or...whatever other titles heroes get." He mused to himself, going off into his own thoughts about that whilst this "Mask" spoke to the wolf. Seeing them walk off he decided to return to his own company, ruffling the wolf on the head also he jovially called "Night pooch" and nodded to the hooded woman before he headed out to the street to find a more reasonably priced inn; he wasn't poor but he also didn't intend to spend his way into poverty.

(This'll be my filler as well :P)

Vell released a held breath at her acceptance into the mission. After her new temporary employer was done talking, she gave a curt nod to them and the others before quickly spinning on her heels and walking a couple of steps to her room. She hesitantly stopped, turning back for just another second. She had forgotten to tell them her name, "My name's Velleity. B-but just call me Vell." She waited a moment, staring at the others awkwardly as they went their separate ways for the evening. She wasn't even sure they had heard her. Oh well, it really isn't important anyway... She thought before walking off with her key in hand, her mind drifting off to the prospect of finally getting some rest.

~The next day, mid-afternoon~

The group had gathered at the town entrance just as Mask instructed, but most of them were very likely puzzled and perhaps annoyed with the absence of their employer. Where had the mystery figure gone to? For though most of them had very likely arrived at the location as the sun began to rise, They were no where to be seen. Yes, Mask had shown up much later than most of them, and was lucky enough that none had decided to ditch. However, wither Mask was even aware of their confusion and irritation They showed no sign of it, nor did They take any notice of Their long absence and explain it, and only urged them onward to begin their journey.

Toward the east they set out, the forest of Lynthia looming far in the distance. Mask explained to them that they weren't actually going to the forest but halfway, or at least somewhat. The journey was more or less uneventful, the group keeping at a steady pace with little to no stops. The sun rose higher and higher as they moved further and further from the King's town, as if attempting to race them before they reached their destination first. Finally, Mask stopped.

"Alright," They didn't turn to the group, but Their eyes shifted back and forth as if searching for something. "We're close. The note said they'll be meeting somewhere around here." Finding what They were looking for, Mask shifted slightly to the left, raising Their arm to point out their destination. "There. They'll be arriving shortly over there." From where Mask's group stood, the ground began to slope downward lightly in that direction. Right at the bottom there was a larger cluster of trees, which began growing everywhere the closer they came to the forest. Bushes, plants, and trees had gathered more so at the bottom of this slope, a good location where someone could go to remain isolated yet not so much so to seem suspicious. It was like a clump of trees had escaped from the forest and settled here, the final stretch of the woodland until finally breaking out to the wide lands and plains of the kingdom.

(Alright let's kick this RP in the ass, c'mon lazy people)

Calid stifled a yawn, it was too quiet round here. They'd been waiting for some time, waiting for signs of a gathering but so far the only indication that they had the right place was one man who stood at the destination, his shifty eyes darting to and fro, Calid stretched out a little, alleviating the cramp in his leg from where he'd been crouched in hiding "Tell me again what we're supposed to do?" he whispered to the hooded figure, bumping the wolf slightly as he got back into position, he hated staying still for two long and he was getting restless.

Carina treaded quietly amongst the vegetation in the small clearing of the forest, dark green eyes narrowed in determination as she scanned every plant and every bush of her prize. The pungent smell of gin and pine, the unique scent of juniper, was becoming more clear with every step the Cleric took, the shrub being the final addition to the fox-skin herb pouch hanging at her waist.

"A-ha, got you!" the young woman exclaimed quietly as she felt the juniper bush brush her leg, green in colour and decorated with purple-black berries. Bending down, Carina tore off some branches that she would have to carry in her hands, followed by stripping some separate branches of their leaves and adding them to her pouch, then finally a handful or so of berries and adding them too. Her herb pouch was finally complete for the time being, and she could return home to stock her supply of herbs and then perhaps relax for an hour or so before one duty or another came a-calling.

But something wasn't right as she neared the edge of the forest, finding that the voice of others were becoming more and more audible. The area didn't tend to get a lot of traffic, and the sudden appearance of what sounded like more than one human, or creature, made her brows furrow in confusion.

'What is going on?' Carina thought to herself as she silently approached the group, ducking behind a pair of lemon verbena shrubs to conceal her small figure, out of sight. The typical scent of lemon was pleasant to her nose as she peered at the group from between the two shrubs. Brushing her fringe away from her eyes, she settled to a kneeling position and watched the group with interest, intrigued as to what they were doing at the edge of the forest, seemingly waiting for someone or something.

"Keep your mouth shut and stay hidden," Mask answered the man next to Them, Their eyes staring intently past a trunk of a tree. The comment had been said more in a joking matter, and more seriously Mask added to answer the question more specifically, "When the mysterious men appear, we're going to attack. I don't really care if you kill some, but we need at least one of them alive. It'd probably be best to have them all alive, but they're pretty tough so it could be impossible if they don't end up running off."

Mask was looking intently at the spot, unfortunately for Them the hooded figure failed to sense someone behind them. A cleric that was hiding herself just behind them, and Mask was completely oblivious to it. Either They were just too focused on the task on hand, or not focused enough as they seemed to be.

~*~*~*~*~

"Well what do we have here?" a voice snaked above the wind, threatening and not at all polite. It came from behind the cleric, whose attention had been on the other group. Soon after a hand had stuck out, grasping the female's wrist to pull her up from the ground. Should she turn to face the culprit, there'd be little to see except a pair of sharp, evil looking eyes. The person was wearing what looked to be ninja garments, a light brown with tan colored patterns and cloths with a hood that kept their head concealed along with a mask that did the same for their mouth and nose.

"She looks nothing more but a common cleric," said another voice, more laid back than the first and belonging to a tall man, whom was wearing a kind of white shirt that was buttoned in the middle and and had long sleeves with same colored pants. His hair was a dirty light blond that was almost brown, with spectacles over intelligent-looking brown eyes, and he had shown up to the left of the female. Though he didn't look or sound as threatening as the first, he was far from looking friendly. "She looks to be a beginner if you ask me, I doubt she can tell much difference between trees let alone herbs and berries."

"Do you think she has any special abilities?" This voice was more ominous, whisper like, and it came from a male to the right. He had long hair, and was wearing a dark robe and held a staff, clearly a magic user, with a spell book to boot. Then upon either the ninja's sides showed up two females, twins no less, dressed in dark purple, tight clothing with masks forming the shape of their heads, only their eyes showing and the shape of their figure telling their gender.

"What should we do," said one.
"With her if she isn't?" ended the other.

"I doubt she is," the sciency looking one said, still in that laid back tone, but his gaze had changed direction; he was looking directly at Mask and the others. "But it seems there's more than one, and it appears they wanted to spy on us."

~*~*~*~*~

Mask had been blinking the whole time through the scene, having finally glanced behind Them. "Uh... it appears I have misjudged where they'd be showing up," They said just above a whisper to the gang, saying it as if They'd merely made a slight miscalculation to a math problem. Then smiling innocently (or at least would of looked that way if it wasn't so creepy) They said aloud to the people now looking their way. "I suppose you won't think I'm lying if I were to say we're just picking berries, would you? Heh heh..."

In reply, the ninja (still keeping his hold on the female's wrist), gave a movement of his head. The twin assassins jumped away from their location with surprising speed, seeming almost to just have vanished and then showing up in the middle of both groups. "I didn't think so..." Mask said grimly, but was reaching into a pouch. The assassins were about to move again, and in unison Make called out to the others, "Looks like we're going to fight now. Try to save the girl from them if you can, but be quick. These guys are tough!" With that, the hooded figure drew out what looked to be small black marbles between Their fingers, and these They tossed out before them.

"Brace yourselves!" They called cheekily, raising an arm before Their face, just before the marbles "popped" and shrouded all of them in smoke.

((Okay, I'm just gonna go ahead and make my post then, I've been eager to respond to yours Katsa, haha. I hope that the RPers begin to return, I'll be kinda sad if this becomes disbanded ... It's not often I work that hard on developing a character off the bat xD (Normally does a brief plan of a character and then develops them as the story or whatever progresses). Here I go!))

Carina inhaled sharply and had to suppress a scream of surprise as she was suddenly yanked from behind by the wrist, forced around to meet the eyes of a masked man. Her breathing and heart rate increased, own eyes widening with shock. She hadn't expected to be snuck up on and surprised like that, let alone with such force.

"She looks like nothing but a common cleric," another voice said, and Carina turned her head sharply to find another man, appearing more relaxed, looking over the scene.

Carina's eyes narrowed and she gave a sneer. "A hell of a lot more than common," she hissed, trying to pull away from the man who had his grasp on her. But his hands were like a vice around her wrist and she was stuck, half-standing up with herbs fluttering from her little pouch to the ground below. The precious juniper that she had spent all day looking for, along with borage, valerian and yarrow.

When one of the strange men wondered if she had any special abilities, she pursed her lips and averted her gaze to the small pile of herbs now on the ground, not caring to share her thoughts this time. Yes, she had an ability, and no, she wasn't going to do anything for them that involved her ability. She had been used once before, never again.

Distracted for a moment as the men conversed and a pair of twins appeared, Carina had forgotten about the group behind her until she heard the voice of the one who seemed to be the leader, talking about misjudging something. Carina's brows furrowed in confusion, but before she could open her mouth to make a loud statement on what she thought of all this they were all suddenly engulfed in smoke, the last words she heard something about fighting and bracing themselves.

Carina had gotten a lungful of smoke when she had tried to scream, and was now hacking violently. She still hadn't been released at the wrist, though the grip had been slackened. Between uncontrollable coughing and trying to regain her sight through the haze of smoke, she mustered the strength with one forceful tug to free herself and fell to the ground below, performing a kind of commando-crawl to get away from the scene. She didn't know who ANY of these people were and was more-or-less scared, but that drove her forward to get away before another stranger could lay their hands on her.

((Not sure how happy I am with this, but as Carina is a totally new character to me I'm still exploring myself >.> If this RP continues then I shall get better!))
