Title: IP address+Connection=Uh oh
Post by: D-ead7Dog on June 16, 2016, 04:55:32 pm
Ahh yes the same issue a few other people have been having. XD
Well, when the updated feralheart version came out it working fine for me. Then I try to get online today and the issue is that it's not connecting. My internet is strong, I've disabled the Proxy thingy as suggested and I've gone through this [http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=54268.msg779817#msg779817 (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=54268.msg779817#msg779817) ] link that has been provided for everyone and nothing is working so i don't need any suggestions on what it might be because i know it's the IP address. [I went through the link and checked the addresses]

Is there a way to set my IP address to my Feralheart one?
Because that's why it's not connecting; IP address is different.
[That is probably 90% of everyone's problem who can't connect. IP address.]
Not sure why because it was working fine a few days ago and now it's not.

Not sure if this'll be useful or not...

That means you either have a proxy configured somewhere..

http://www.enigmasoftware.com/how-to-disable-proxy-settings-browser/ (http://www.enigmasoftware.com/how-to-disable-proxy-settings-browser/)

There's a little guide to turning them off.
Edit:One other thought if you find you have a proxy setting that refuses to turn off chances are you have a virus :(

Or your internet is forcibly pushing your we connections though some other proxy.
Which for one is very anti privacy and also a little out of scope of what I can help you fix.

It's already turned off and the issue is still there. ;;

Another user same problem and looking at your IP you both have the same internet provider?

Coincidence? I think not!

Meaning our IP address is the same? o3o
I've heard that that can actually happen; having the same IP address as someone else. even if it's a very slim chance.

Would getting a new laptop help maybe? e3e

Hey so I'm the person with the same problem - I'm actually going around on google right now, and apparently a lot of people around this time are having problems connecting to gamer servers, not just on FH but other games aswell --- I'm still trying to look, but I'm thinking of just changing my IP somehow (I know there's a way, trying to find the site for it tho)

Not the same IP but you both get your internet from the same company

According to what I'm finding online, it has something to do with our port something being closed? Not really sure what that is but I did a test on a link I found and it says port is closed for my IP

Oh! Well then~ Honestly it might change when I go home because I'm not at my own house. Using my sister's wifi so that might be why. XD

I'll try to explain.

Your PC IP----> internet ----> FH Server

Normally thats how it works a nice simple connection the server sees your IP

What I believe is happening

When you connect with the exe I released

Your PC IP----> internet ----> FH Server

Still nice and normal

But when you connect to the website

Your PC IP----> Internet Providers Internal Proxy IP ---> internet ----> FH Server

Now the FH Server sees the IP of your internet providers proxy not your actual IP.

Because they don't match you can't connect.

Hope that explains...

The thing I don't understand though is that I was still able to play the game a few days ago even when I was here but now all of the sudden i can't. o3o

So I mean I don't get why it wouldn't work again since it did work before

Heya Pk.~

I just asked my friend who is facing the same problem about what provider she has, and she's got the same.
So this is most likely something only your provider can help you with.
At least if I understand Razmirz correctly.

I just have a few questions now tho -

Why was I able to play the game normally until 3 days ago, when it booted me offline and never let me back in?
I shut my proxy settings off and the problem hasn't been fixed, and not really sure what to do next?
If I can't manually fix this, does that mean I can never play this game again and have to close my rp?

Well that was 3 days ago.
Maybe your ISP has done some possible changes with their internet and it's interfering with the FH server(?)
( Might need to make your own thread )

"3 days ago" "a few days ago"

And you have a common provider.

I can only guess at how they operate. Really you will have to ask them...

Sorry I can't be more helpful but at least it narrows down the issue.

And fyi Nuras has their own thread. I brought these together as they are the same problem.

*Waves* Hello guys c8

I'm Ressys friend who is having the same issue as you guys - along with my roommate who plays FH as well and if you have Comcast/Xfinity internet provider the IP addresses you use to connect to the FH website and the server are indeed different.
I currently am on hold with Xfinity to see if they can solve this. I will provide what they say. Thank you Raz and Ressy for helping narrow this situation down c8 much appreciated.
