... go through your old posts and die a little on the inside?
i've always been one to go back and look through old threads or discussions, regardless of the community i'm in. or even if i made them.
sometimes it's educational and i learn about stuff that came before my time in said community, or in the case of FeralHeart...

... wonder why my mom let me on the internet, lmao.

been in the mood for this recently. wondering if anyone else has as well.

News Archives / Fun in the Sun - Newsletter
« on: June 27, 2019, 07:13:03 pm »

*now with less sunburn

Welcome to FeralHeart’s very first Member of the Season (MOTS)Newsletter!

Recently, things have been bumpy as one can see on the forums, but regardless of that hopefully things will be smoother with the help of this new format.
Basically, this is to help open communication between the Staff and Community with the MOTS acting more as ambassadors than they have previously.

Through this we - The members that you have voted for - Hope to finally start achieving what this community has been wanting for a long time:

An open window into what’s going on and a way to communicate efficiently with those on the other side.
Fair warning, none of us can give an ETA on when some of these will be implemented. If we are given one, we will definitely inform you.

There will also be a feedback thread posted shortly after this with a form for you to fill out, so we can get a good gauge on what the community wants/needs, as this thread will act as an archive for more MOTS Newsletters to come. Any questions, concerns, inquiries, or statements will go there.

So without further ado - Here’s what’s shakin’ bacon.

First off as we see it most important - The Rules

Staff have begun the long process of overhauling them, making sure that each one is up to snuff with the current FeralHeart environment.
The completion of this will be in the coming days, although I cannot myself nor the other MOTS give an ETA.

Second - Translating the Rules

Yes you heard.
As this will be an entirely new list they will need to retranslate them for foreign players. If you have any experience in languages other than English, please contact one of the Admins expressing your interest in helping translate the game’s rules. The help will be invariably appreciated and is sorely needed. Although quite a few Staff are multilingual they do not cover the entire globe. I’m sure one speaks Klingon at least.

On that note, hopefully soon they will also be showing their proficiency/nationality on the Staff page. So if you’re in a pinch but don’t know English too well, you’ll be able to see which one speaks your mother tongue best or a sister language that’s similar to it. Big thanks to Calvary for getting that sent underway, it wouldn't've happened without her.

Third - Contests

Yes, these are still happening as one can certainly tell.
They’re not as high a priority as say patchwork and the like but they’re still on the table.
Don’t worry, they’re not going away anytime soon.

Fourth - Forum Spruce-up

Right now the staff are compiling various needs and wants concerning the forum itself.
Currently, here’s the list of ideas they have in mind.
[Please share your input on these as this will affect you!]

- Merging Art Boards
- Forum Tutorials Section
- Hall of Fame other contests
- Saving Drafts

Fifth - Overall Communication

Without diving too deep into what I’m sure all of you already know if you’ve been on the forums this week, the community has made a public notice that they’d like more communication.
Players want a peek into the perspective of Staff members and how they run things, without worrying and jumping to conclusions.
While we the MOTS cannot guarantee anything an effort will be made on our behalves and hopefully the Staff themselves. While we are spokespeople they are their own individuals. If you have concerns you should absolutely still go to them about it, and us if you feel so inclined.

No one wants the Community to feel alienated or as if they’re being smothered. By doing this we will start to cure what ails it and put to rest any fears you may have.

Six - The Big Cahuna, the Patch

Yes, it is being worked on. While we can’t divulge too many details, it is well under way, but the Staff and Patch team needs your help!
They are in search of map makers from any skillset willing to submit their creations. There is an entire board filled with it.
Any other kind of mod making talent is appreciated as well so feel free to submit anything not necessarily map related as well!
Meshes, sounds[Please not the fortnite one], and textures galore!
You can submit your creations here.

That’s really all we have to disclose.
You’ve now seen basically everything that’s been going on behind the scenes in the past year concerning work on the game and forums as well as concerning the community itself.
I hope that this has shed the light you all wanted, and if not please let myself or any of the other MOTS know.
Our task is to represent you guys, and we wanna do it right.

If you don’t want to do that however, there is another way you can get your voice heard:
Just posting on the forum or speaking out in the game itself.

It’s still advised to send us these threads to make sure they see it. Not everyone is as obsessed with the recent posts made to forum button as myself.
Whether it be a suggestion, a discussion concerning an important aspect of the community/game, etc.
If it’s from an older topic, feel free to bump it or make a new thread entirely! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing this. All it does is show that this is still relevant to the community and should be looked into.

You may give Feedback concerning this announcement here.
There's also an anonymous poll - if you don't feel comfortable with speaking publicly - here.

not gonna link it because i don't know if i'd be allowed since it's got horrific things like
'Early 20s Dance Movements'.

the community also crashed google streaming services to watch con-air together and honestly that warms my heart.

Characters / Jango_Fett's Entry.
« on: March 04, 2019, 04:34:39 pm »

Name: Lolee Verlu

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Species: Abhuman

Appearance:
Standing at only 5'8", this woman has the scars of biting off more than she can chew.
Being born with a 'deformity' that caused additional elongated canines to grow, she has this permanent expression of snarling.
And a drooling problem.
She's decorated her body with various tattoos and body-paints, making her glow in the darkest corners and stand out in the light. Lolee's dramatic like that.
Her build is slim, but not totally skinny. Physically she's pretty average.
Her eyes are a technicolor mess, due to genetic tampering in the womb and living in almost total darkness for many years of her life.
The goggles she has are supposed to help reduce eye-shine, and make it so she isn't half blind. It's moderately successful.

Personality:
She's a shrewd girl that ain't afraid to speak her mind, but has the street smarts to know when to shut up and listen.
It's just a matter of her actually carrying that through.
Lolee is a headstrong, assertive piece of work that lives and dies by 'my way or the highway'.

Background:
A mutant given a second chance.
Verlu had been born in a way deemed unsuitable for the modern world, and before she could form thoughts was cast into the underbelly of her city.
She knew no comforts of a posh childhood, the safety of a home and parents.
All she had was her own hands, and Auntie Liza. Auntie Liza was a retired detective living off her pension in a cheap flat in the slums. A firm believer in abhuman rights, she took the gutter-baby in - not before almost stepping on her.

Lolee had been a wild-child and a handful from the very start. Showing very anti-societal ways, it was up to Liza to show her that although the people above wronged her - Not all of them were bad.
The small urchin blossomed into a back-alley lily of the trash heap under the guidance of the aging cop. Taking what her Auntie had taught her, she ventured out into the streets.
Wherever she went, trouble was sure to follow. This hellion had an idea of how things should be and by the Lord above she was gonna make it happen.
One way or another.

In doing so she attracted the attention of the Law from the wrong side, and as a result is almost always on the run.
Although she's always been prickly, this ride or die nature has helped her survive in her world's most dangerous place. Even making a few allies[and many enemies] along her way to the top.
One way or another, she's gonna be the trash queen.

Other Information:
I was inspired by Warhammer 40k gangers and old Scifi films my dad used to watch with me.
Cyberpunk and Scifi are a big part of my life now and I wanted to give new life to an old character.

alpha_fett and me, jango_eclipse are hosting a podcast to talk about random feralheart nonsense.

it's mostly to open a dialogue about some developments with feralheart[good or bad], without being too serious. gotta keep that fh flair up yo.
for the most part it'll be answering some questions newer people might have about the game, talking about memories.
it'll be an open floor where anyone can join in to talk things FeralHeart[or anything related to it].

and, yes. that's right. anyone can.
we'll be doing this KF style, where we'll take on callers with questions or quick little stories.
you can ask them over the discord, in-game[either message Jango_Fett or AlphaEclipse],

the podcast is hosted on
Twitch!
we will go live at: TBA
discord for call-ins is right here.

hope to see you there.

sidenote:
please do look over the rules we have set up in the discord - i am going to boot people if they get overly hostile and passive aggressive, whether it be towards a member or staff.
there also will be some swearing, as some people have weak filters. it won't be every word.
also know that this archive list may be incomplete.
every single mirror will be up on the youtube channel attached to this but i might've forgotten to list them here.[/font]

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / oops, we dropped it.
« on: February 07, 2019, 07:21:48 pm »
So, everyone[ish] knows about the log-in tab and where to find it, right?

Well I noticed that on the old design it was at the very tippy top of the forum banner. Now it isn't.
This somewhat explains as to why a lot of newer people are running into the issue where they cannot connect, because they didn't see the announcement.

It's on a locked thread and no longer put on display.

The proposal is simple:

Put it somewhere at the top of the forum section, because at this points no one really goes to the 'home' page. Especially if you're looking for help in the help section.
Maybe even add in a thread and pin it in there too, concerning the log-in page.

It'd save time.
It wouldn't obviously stop people from not finding it, but it would make it a helluva lot more obvious.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / community meetings.
« on: January 23, 2019, 03:22:04 am »
so something that's been cropping up in conversations i've been having as of recent is the concern of transparency between staff team and community members.

there is definitely a disconnect between staff and the playerbase. there has always been one since this game seemingly began. even with the new mods it hasn't done too much to bridge the gap between staff member and your average player.

a solution to this that i've found on other servers/games/mmos/communities/etc was a simple little concept called:

the community meeting.

it's simple.
a monthly or tri-weekly meeting set up by the staff to openly discuss things with the community, answers and ask questions of concern, and in general just...
discuss things on an open platform with little worry for stepping out of line.

i know that some staff can be busy but something like this is atrociously easy to set up.
it would also build up some trust that the feralheart staff are ready and capable of being open with the community about the goings on[obviously, without spoiling what's contained in a patch or something].

it would also be nice to have a place to suggest things that might perhaps be instantly locked on the forum because it mentions a forbidden phrase[y'know which one i mean] or something else people might be nervous to post about.

questions, concerns, inquiries, and additions?

Game Help / Invisible UI[Bug or Feature]
« on: January 17, 2019, 05:00:48 am »
I know I'm not the only one having this problem.

The default UI for FeralHeart currently leaves me with the main 'frame' of the chatbox, and then nothing inside of it. Only white text on whatever I'm seeing with my camera in the game.
Not even trying to mod it out has fixed it.

If this is a feature, I kindly but firmly ask that it be... Reconsidered as a good idea, as it's very difficult for myself to read even with glasses, along with a lot of other people.
Don't even think about having dyslexia and trying to read with it.

If this is a bug, what's gone wrong?
