This is where young offenders go to be set straight. Hawkstone Juvenile hall. It is quite a difficult place to get used to and survive in. Will you keep yourself sane before your release date?
In this rp, you are either a guard or an inmate. There will be a warden but until someone decides to take the character, he/she will be an NPC. Each character has a different role in the roleplay:
Guards: You are the main force in the hall. Your job is to keep the inmates under control and keep them under your thumb. They know everything about them and can use this fact as a tool to keep them from rebelling. While not cruel (depending on the character), they are disliked by the inmates.

Inmates: Teenagers who have been put here for rehabilitation after thinking their age excuses them from stupid acts. Males and Females are kept apart at all times except for in the exercise yard, where they spend most of their day. They are also expected to do some work around the hall. Such as cleaning, cooking or laundry. The basic clothing they all have is a pair of loose denim jeans and navy t-shirt. Most of them have nicknames that they go by.

Rules
1} Please be active.
2} There cannot be more guards than inmates, so I will only accept a limited number.
3} Inmates can only be the ages between 13 to 18.
4} Inmates mainly know each other by nicknames.
5} Don't cause too much drama, mild drama is alright but not too much. It gets annoying.
6} Be literate, at least one paragraph per post.
7} If one of your characters are convicts, don't have their crime be something too serious like murder.
8} Mild swearing is ok, but don't go overboard with it and use it in every post.
9} Keep the RP clean please.
10} Don't try to control someone else's character.
11} Put 'Shawshank Redemption' somewhere in your application to show you have read the rules.

Ara 'Whip' Branning
"I hate most people... If you're an exception then you owe me big time."
"Louisa..." No answer. "LOUISA!" A desperate cry pierced through the silence of the hall and was soon followed by hurried footsteps. Ara was lying face up on the floor of her cell, her arms hanging limply by her side. Without even acknowledging the guard now standing outside of her door, she frowned. "Tell me the time." The order would normally be responded to with a scoff and a warning, but Ara, as usual, was an exception. "It's 7AM." The flat, emotionless response from the female guard made Ara grin her dangerous smile. Lifting her head up to meet the gaze of 'Louisa', she pulled herself up to a sitting position and crossed her legs.
"I tell you time and time again, Ara Branning, that my name is not Louisa." The guard that was speaking stepped into the light and Ara recognised the curling blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. Pulling her lips up in a sneer, she almost hissed. "And I tell you time and time again that I don't care. You look like a Louisa, so you are a Louisa." As 'Louisa' opened her mouth to speak, the inmate jammed her hands to her ears, singing at the top of her lungs. She continued to do so for at least five minutes after the guard had stormed off in exhasperation. Well, if Ara was awake then everybody else may as well be.
