Title: Arrow to the Knee...
Post by: blossom312312 on January 25, 2012, 12:46:14 am
Sigh.
It's the number one meme that gets on my nerves.
What's even the point of it?
I mean, really...
how was it even started?
Could someone do some explaining?

In the game Skyrim, guards all over the place keep saying

" I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took and arrow in the knee"

Constantly. Through any town, all guard are constantly saying as you walk past them;

" I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took and arrow in the knee"

It is so annoying! Like, around the time they were adventuring, was there an explosion at the arrow factory that rained down arrows on adventurers? Was there a great war? Why did the arrows only target knees?

Whyyyyyy?

It is from the game Skyrim. Sometimes when you walk past gurds they'll say:
"I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow to the knee."
It is most often said in a aceent that reminds me of arnold swartzeneger (No clue how to spell that) Due to teh nords being big and more often fair haired, which makes it all the more hilarious when a GUARD says it in my opinion. Whn people keep saying it elsewhere? Annoying.

*Edit Ninja'd XD

I only really think it is funny ingame when the guard sounds like Arnold swartzenegger, I keep hearing them go
"Get to da Choppa! Oh God! An arrow! In my knee! NUUUU!"
Because that is how my childish mind works XD

I once shot someone and put an arrow through their knee and my room-mates and I laughed for at least half an hour. It makes a bad meme, but for some reason....

As for the meme, I never really understood it. o3o I mean, I understand the meaning, just not why it's...a meme.

After hearing it 10000 million trillion time...it echos in your head. A lot of Skyrim players feel that way, and a lot will know where it came from right away.

As for everyone else.... it's like the inside joke you giggle at for no reason.

Just wondering, why did the Skyrim makers do 'Arrow to the KNEE?'
What about arrow to the foot, arrow to the head, arrow to the neck, arrow to the toe...
And you get the picture  :P

Because if you get injured in the knee you can't really adventure anymore. Hard to walk around and stuff due to losing mobility in a joint.
